Poor service. Techs come for 5 min at the most. Owner doesn't believe you. Had to send in camera footage to prove it. Techs broke things in my backyard didn't say nothing. My husband and I are new pool owners, novices to say the least. Due to this, we had been struggling with our pool having algae for over a year. We would have a company come out to consult on why the pool won't stay clear and rebalance the pool, but it just kept coming back within a few days. We had companies super chlorinate the pool, do other maintenance, professionally rebalance, change the pump, etc. We were at our wits end and thought we would have to drain the entire pool to scrub it when we contacted Mark with The Pool Guyz. He explained to us that our filter had algae in it, so it would just keep coming back no matter how much we rebalanced it. His crew was able to clean our pool filters and install an algicide that solved the problem. It has been several months and the algae has not come back. The Pool Guyz was a lifesaver for us pool newbies because they didn't string us along milking us for a bunch of services like other companies did. The solution being so much less expensive and simpler than draining our entire pool instilled a lot of trust in Mark and his team, because they could have easily gone through with the pricier service since we didn't know any better. Let's just say that the owner Mark is extremely knowledgeable about ALL THINGS POOL RELATED . He is professional , courteous and extremely pleasant to work with. Rust developed in several small areas of the pool , he took care of it immediately. My filter broke he took care of it immediately , additionally he took the broken filter to the local pool store for replacement parts .This was above and beyond. The monthly fee is reasonable. The quality of service is Excellent each and every time. We have been able to swim from March until mid November each year. I could go on but I think you get the POINT. The Pool Guys ARE 10/10 . Beware beware beware! We hired Mark from The Pool Guyz when we first move into our home (in August). We paid him for September and October for weekly service. In October, it became painfully clear he was not coming at all. After a windstorm we were due for service the next day and he never came. The pool was just as filthy as it was after the wind storm. I decided to check the chemicals myself and the alkalinity was below 60 and there was ZERO chlorine in our pool (not to mention the water was basic). All of this can lead to extensive damage to our property. I decided to see if this was a fluke so I didn't say anything and waited one more week. Still, our pool looked as if no one had cleaned it. I had enough at that point. I let him know via text we wouldn't be needing his services any more. You'd think he'd respond and ask why, but NO. All he did was immediately send me a bill for November pool services (this month hadn't even started). I responded and made it clear that we were not liable for this bill in both text and as an email. I went as far as locking our side gate (to prevent access) and I worked from home on the following Tuesday (which was the promised, but rarely kept, service date). That day I worked from home, Mark did not show up. He sent a younger guy to knock on our door. I let this gentleman know that we had already contacted Mark and no longer needed their services. I thought that was the end of it until today. I just received another bill, for December 2019, for pool services. Mark is going to just keep billing us in perpetuity. He does not respond to any text messages or emails about us cancelling our service. It seems he thinks he can just ignore the fact that he DOES NOT work for us while still billing us. So, again, beware. This man is either a con artist or not qualified to maintain a pool (maybe both). Either way, I don't want this type of person working in my home. In case this is TL:DR - Mark from the Pool Guyz does not come out weekly as promised - Our alkalinity was allowed to get below 60 ppm, the water was basic, and there was no chlorine in our pool - We are being billed despite already breaking ties with the Pool Guyz Now I'm maintaining the pool myself (this is not the first time I've done this) which is unfortunate. I didn't hire a pool guy because of an inability to perform pool maintenance, I hired a pool guy because I'm busy and don't have the time to maintain my pool. Now I have to take time out a couple times a week to test and manage chemicals along with cleaning and skimming debris. read more

As a new first-time pool owner, I inadvertently allowed my pool to turn dark green with algae. It was so bad that it needed to be completely drained, chlorine washed, filters cleaned, and the refilled water balanced with sufficient chemical. Mark not only provided a reasonable quote, but he did a great job on reviving my pool. It went from looking swampy green to clear blue water in just a few days!
