Finally visited the Porch on a Monday evening to watch the Suns game. Although the parking lot was full, we were seated within a few minutes! We chose to sit outside and it wasn't hot given the misters (and it being 8PM). The ambiance outside is cute and porch like. There were cute picnic tables, regular tables, and lawn chairs. Eat/sip on your drinks while playing giant Jenga or giant Connect 4. You can also catch the game but you won't be able to hear it over the music playing on the speakers. I like the variety in their food and cocktail menu! It's like vodka isn't *trendy* anymore so I appreciate it when restaurants have more than one vodka cocktail! I was between "A strawberry and lemon walk into a bar" ($13) and "Cougar bait" ($13) but the waitress said "A strawberry..." is sweeter so of course I went with that one! It tastes just like strawberry lemonade! Service was a bit slow; it took about 20-30 minutes to receive our food after our drinks. The AZ Burger ($17) was large and hearty; I'm surprised I was able to finish it! The sriracha aioli was excellent; I wish there had been more!! The brioche bun was also *chef's kiss*. The truffle fries were good, albeit a tad salty. Bf ordered the green chili mac + cheese and added bacon ($2+, total $13). It was served in a cute lil cast iron skillet. Green chili is not my favorite but it worked with the richness of the mac and cheese! Don't let the cute portion fool you; with how cheesy and hearty as it was, we weren't able to finish it! Dang, was excited about this place but it was not the vibe. We went at 6 pm on a Saturday and got seated about 45 min later. Not their fault obvi, it was just busy. The music was so loud, and we were seated by a giant "score four" game which in theory sounds fun, except the bottom is metal so any time someone plays a token, it made a huge clanging noise. I ordered the "grande" tacos with beyond meat - they were the two smallest tacos I have ever seen. My mom said they looked like the $1.50 tacos you get at a taco truck (they were $17.) the seasonal vegetables side was in fact just broccoli. Surely there is more than just broccoli in season right now? Service was quite slow. My tacos came out 15 min after my four friends so they were basically done eating. I thought maybe we'd get my tacos comped because of how late they were but nah. My server was nice. It would be a great place to hang out on a weeknight when it's not as busy. I've ordered take out from here before ( the kale Cesar salad is 10/10!), but this time I think I really chose a bad dish. I'm a lover of poke bowls and get them often, so when I saw this on the menu I was excited. At first look, the bowl looked stunning. What you don't see is the pool of a sauce that is soaking the rice at the bottom that tastes like if you were having spoonfuls of salt. To top it off it has multiple pickled vegetables such as pickled red onion and pickled jalapeños which are both very salty factors. Because of this I was not able to eat much of my lunch and honestly left hungry. I think this dish needs some edits to be able to enjoy. Orders and how they came out/tasted. 1. Porch Burger with Lettuce only Medium Well with Fries. Arrived as a Fully Loaded Porch Burger wrapped in Lettuce but was quickly re-made as ordered. Overall Best of the 4 meals. 2. Forbidden Rice with scrambled egg and grilled chicken added. Arrived drowning in the sesame lime sauce and the egg used must've been a small not medium or large or extra-large egg it is possible the sauce covered the egg and drowned out the flavor. The dish had tiny portions that were VERY VERY hot while the rest of the dish was warm to luke-warm (I am not sure how that happens in a "Professional Kitchen", but it did). The overall size of the dish was also a tad small considering I added chicken and egg. Overall 4th best but far from good. 3. Forbidden Rice with grilled Turkey breast. About the same overall with 30% less sauce which was still an ample amount of sauce. 2nd best of the four. 4. BIG ASS BOWL OF PORK STEW with white rice. Not Big. VERY VERy VEry Very very bland. This dish also arrived with inconsistent temperatures throughout the dish. 3rd best. Food overall score 2.75 Service overall score 3.5 Price 2.5 Service was not bad just slow. AMAZING ENVIRONMENT! We went on a Saturday at 11:30am. We sat outside (mid August) and it was very comfortable. Service was fast! Our sever was Megan who made sure we had everything we needed and checked how our food tasted. My husband had the Porch Burger medium with an egg. That burger had no chance! My daughter (10) ordered the Mac & Cheese and her side was fruit. She ate it all up! I had the Chicken Tenders with Salt & Pepper Fries. VERY filling. I couldn't finish it, so husband did (lol). Awful all around experience here. I had to stand around and wait for a table with my baby when the restaurant wasn't even busy. After standing around for 10 min they finally sat us outside at a table that had been open the entire time. I've been a fan of this place for some time, but I wasn't too happy with their new menu item, the tuna poke tostadas. They need to hone their knife skills in cutting the tuna. It was cubed, but a little too big, and the biggest issue was that much of the sinew (the white connective tissue) was left, which is very chewy and inedible. I also like some spice, and I like fresh jalepenos, but putting 5-6 large slices on each street-sized wonton is way too much. Luckily, that's something that can be pulled off. Hoping the kitchen staff can be trained to do a better job of cutting the fish so people don't have the embarrassment of spitting out pieces of it in their napkins. I want to give a shout out to our server Haley, such amazing service. She greeted us with a smile, had great energy and was very helpful with questions we had and food modifications requests. I've tried a few things off of their menu, BUT the best thing I've tried is their Arcadia Meat market burger!!! Since this visit this burger has done nothing but stay on my mind. This burger was so full of flavor and every ingredient complimented each other so very well. I had the Big Ass Bowl of Pork Stew because I mean, how can you not with a name like that? It was comfort in a bowl! The toddler was very excited to claim her portion of my meal too but she's a soup/stew fiend. For your reference, it contains house braised pork, green chiles, hominy, cilantro, lime, queso fresco, white or black rice. I requested it sans cilantro because it is my mortal food enemy and it arrived as requested. This place was so packed there was only room at the bar. That would have been totally okay with me except that the service wasn't great, even being right in front of the servers. I was disappointed in the margarita. It was loud as there was a big game on. The restaurant itself is really cool, though. I loved that it had an actual swing on the porch. It was a big one enough for at least 2. The picnic atmosphere outside looked really nice and not so loud as the main area. I will definitely be returning as the food was great and the restaurant was really nice to look at. Great decor. I would definitely come back, just not during such a big game. The staff was limited and they let you know when you do come in (so no surprises). We were able to get a table out on the patio for dinner as a few people in front ventured down the plaza. Overall it was a good experience but once we found out the frozen margarita machine was not working that shifted the whole mindset. Food was good but nothing I can really get too excited about as I went with the porch burger with truffle fries. I probably should've added the bacon and eggs to it, but really wasn't thinking about it as I was still a bit hungry even after the nachos we had for an appetizer. If there was anything in particular I probably would ask for bigger portions when it comes to things like the fries or other sides especially the truffle fries which are really good. Update: We've been a few more times and had similar experiences. Last stop was for brunch and I got the Brunch Burger with Truffle Fries. I was able to change out the hash brown bun and get the Brioche I believe. We ordered a bottle of champagne for the mimosa and not a glass of OJ... Not sure how we are supposed to pour that into the flutes without spilling it everywhere so that was a bit of a newsence.
