We had several different appetizers -- which were good, but the queso served with the chips was watery and tasteless, almost as if someone had increased the volume by half through pouring water on it. Our server was great: nothing went unnoticed by her, attentive without being a nuisance. Had she given me the check as requested, she would have received a bigger tip. Adult beverages: the beer was very cold, I was told; our Old Fashioneds were passable, but not the best we've had... no cherry; very little bitters, slice of orange peel, nothing the least bit sweet to offset the bourbon. Didn't happen for us. Minus 1/3 of a point for missing the point of the drink. Of the entrees, everyone was pleased with their selection: the food was very good: I ǐhad the southwest salad with chicken but the dressing was almost tasteless. I'd recommend the chipotle dressing to give it some zzinnnggggg. Minus 1/3 of a point. Prices are what they are with the runaway inflation: moderate to high. I asked for ranch with it and was assured by the waitress that ranch would come with it, but of course, there was no ranch. The sandwich itself was average. I personally don't think they should put apple slices on it, it wasn't spicy at all, and the breading was falling off. Fries are delicious, as are the mozzarella sticks. The only problem was that when we went to pay, our bill was $4 above menu pricing. They had tacked a dollar on to each of our four items because it was "event pricing." Keep in mind this was at 11:00 AM on a Saturday. Allegedly, there was a fight going on, although our family with two parents and two toddlers was not here to watch that. And we were not informed of this by the hostess or server, until we went to pay and questioned the discrepancy. The restaurant fixed the $4 upcharge when we questioned it, which is why I'm only docking a star. But still, it does bother me that they would do this, and I wonder how many people simply would not notice. It's ridiculous and management needs to quit doing this or they're going to lose customers. The staff is always friendly and personable. The cocktails and beer are good but my favorite is the blackened shrimp tacos and the forbidden rice bowl (add shrimp and a friend egg) delicious! We always get at least one of these dishes if not both when we come. They also take your temperature at the door before being seated so if you don't like that maybe try somewhere else. During Covid it's quite difficult to find places that are dining in but also offer outdoor service. This is place is it! They have indoor and outdoor. The outdoor is quite comfy and consists of lounge chairs, a giant checkers game and more. Covid actions - take temperatures when you walk in, all staff is wearing masks and gloves, tables are disinfected after every customer, plenty of space for social distancing, mask required unless not eating, and hand sanitizer everywhere. What an amazing experience. We had a great waitress, Kaitlyn. We DID NOT have a reservation and they accommodated us within seconds.
