The only half decent thing at this location is maybe the drinks. But that's only because the bar is open. WARNING FOR GUESTS: spam reservations are allowed here so good luck getting a spot if you walk in. Place is empty and they won't seat you because of these "ghost" reservations. I've had the opportunity to visit this sophisticated casual and comfy sports bar. Although not a sports bar fan, The Porch Baseline brings that style of Pub to a different level. A wide-open design, with high ceilings, TVs surround you throughout all four walls, comfortable seating with a slight air of firehouse meets warehouse sense and panache! The service is very, very good and more importantly, the food is well above average Saloon fare. I must say, anyone who loves prickly pear has to try their exceptional Frozen Prickly Pear Porcherita - outstanding! In our visits we've had the ops of tasting their: very good and flavorful Lanai Chicken Sandwich; an exceptional Mac 'n' Cheese; a really, really good rendition of a traditional Grilled Cheese along with avocado; and the Green Chili Burger is not only tasty, but make sure you're really hungry when you show up for it! I was here a few days ago to meet a friend for brunch. We were required to have our temperature taken at the door. They were also offering gloves and such at the door for guests that wanted them. The patio was cute and large but we had to ask to be moved because the table we sat at kept flipping up and tipping drinks. We were moved and the second table was secure. The patio ambiance was chill and comfortable and seemed to be set to accommodate larger parties. The food was good and the beverage was delicious! My complaint would be that they charge about $15 for any of the sandwiches and that does not include anything but the sandwich. I had to pay around $9 more for a small side (for fries and such). So for a simple small meal it was over $25 bucks after tax for just the food. For two of us I paid just over $90. We both had two beverages. 2 Beers and 2 mixed cocktails and then two basic meals (again we had to purchase our side separately). We did ask if they had some sort of happy hour menu and they did not. If the pricing was more reasonable, I would have given 5 stars and overlooked the issue with the table but this place is not worthy of that kind of pricing period! I may go back again but probably would only be for drinks if I did. I don't think I'd purchase off of the food menu again. read more

There are multiple locations across the valley, but they all have the same menu and aesthetic. We stopped in for a brunch on the patio. It was still pretty hot out, and they had the misters going. As it goes, some folks in our group got pretty wet from one of the dripping mister nozzles. They have different types of seating -- swings, benches, Adirondack chairs, etc. -- and none are particularly comfortable. We ordered a pretzel for the table, which was decent. My cocktail came out and the glass was chipped off, so the server had to get me replacement just in case. I ordered the southwest bowl, at the recommendation of our server. It was pretty bland and very boring. Also kind of expensive for what you get. Three stars for being fine at best. But wouldn't recommend. read more

Let's start with some sad news for my gluten-free followers. They no longer have a designated gluten free grill. However, they are accommodating and willing to go the extra mile to help me find things I can eat. Also, they list on their menu what is gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian. The ambiance is nice and clean. They have TVs, a bar, restaurant seating, and outdoor seating. Servers were great but if you have kids, be aware they may hear a few F-words. Hopefully not if kids had been close by. I had Buffalo tossed wings and fries. Yes, I realize these were done in their now not gluten free fryer, but they'd just switched the oil and nothing had been cooked in it yet. They were both good. Met my expectations. I was in Tempe today and decided to try the Porch on Baseline. I was REALLY excited when I saw ceviche on the menu. I was REALLY disappointed too. The $14 entree came with less than a cup of "ceviche " and I use that term loosely, a good portion of chips and a serving of guacamole that I wasn't expecting but turned out to be the delicious highlight of the order. Unfortunately, my expectations for the ceviche were too high for them to meet. Their ceviche was extremely hot, lacking in actual flavor, no citrus notes at all, and was merely some shrimp mixed in with salsa. The shrimp might have been marinated in lime juice but if they were the flavor didn't make it through the overpowering hot seasoning. I also got a soft pretzel to try. It was ok. Nothing special, but it was a huge pretzel just like their menu promised. I left the spoon in the picture so you'd have an idea of how small the portion of crevice was. read more

First visit yesterday on a Saturday night. Definitely a fun, loud neighborhood sports bar feel. I thought their red shirts were pretty cool so I ended up getting one through their vending machine that they have. Good fit and great material. Anywho they have valet that you can pay as tip. So flippin yummy! My husband and I visited this restaurant after our hike last weekend. Exhausted from our hike, we needed mimosas and sustenance. Being a Sunday we knew it would be busy, we had to wait about 20 minutes but that was not bad for a brunch place on a Sunday. We were able to get drinks and play games out on the patio while we waited. They Yelp waitlist was very helpful! After being seated we all were ready to order and had a nice spread of random eats. My son got their BBQ Wings, my husband and I both ordered the brunch burger and our friends ordered the Glazed Nashville Sandwich. We also had a few orders of their fries and Porch Poppers. The food was a little on the greasy side, but it was delicious. Having the cooked hashbrowns as a bun is freakin genius along with adding the Siracha Aoli, WOW! The service was ok, due to them being busy we had to flag down a few other waiters to find our waitress to get refills and order more food. I will give them a pass for it being brunch Sunday. I was a first time customer and last time customer at the porch with my family. The service was alright. The host who greeted us was amazing but the servers themselves were rude. The food is absolutely horrendous and overpriced for flavorless junk. If the food wasn't undercooked it was over cooked and looked like it went bad weeks ago. Most of the people within the Porch were drunk college students so I assume the food was made for drunk people with no sense of taste. I highly recommend avoiding this place unless you only want drinks. But the service is horrendous. read more

It was not a good experience for our group. We stopped in for lunch only to find that the overworked wait staff cannot provide decent service. They had a lot of pro waiting for tables And a lot of open tables. But they wouldn't fill the tables because of lack of help. We waited a long time for our server. They brought me the wrong sandwich, and they didn't tell us they were out of poppers after we waited for them to be served for about 20 minutes. Also, we learned that everything on the menu would be an additional dollar per item because there was going to be a sport activity on TV. Note that we couldn't find anyone actually watching the fights that were on. It was early in the day and we learned that the main fight was much later in the evening. Weird! Why charge anything when you can't even fill and serve your restaurant. There are much better choices folks. Don't waste your time and money here read more

There were 3 bartenders working at it wasn't that busy. We were fully ignored for 15 minutes. The customer next to us gave us his menu out of pity. We considered leaving. We finally placed a drink order. The bartender brought me the wrong thing in a chipped cup. A manager wandered by and fixed it and seemed more on top of it. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower. It was really tasty. I do wish they would have separated the ranch and cauliflower from the wing sauce and cauliflower. There was no way to cut the spice. The bartenders were not very engaging. 6pm onwards the music tempo changed and indoor lights were turned on, i liked the setting there after sun set. The food order came in pretty quick and the chef/kitchen staff brought the food to me and asked if I needed any sauce. This item was served hot in a medium size iron skillet. I like the way penne pasta, chicken breast, some veggies in it all came together well into one dish. Larger chunk of chicken breast was not well done at one place. I did not add any extra sauce as the dish by itself was flavorful. Frozen porcharita was okay, i don't desire it again. The mango Frozen float was not real fruit. It was too sweet and adding it to your drink costs an extra 2$ which I felt is not worth the buck because the drink by itself already costed $14. read more

The only reason this place got 2 stars is because our waiter Joseph was spot on and very attentive! but the food lacked taste, we had the cauliflower bites as an appetizer, just soaked in reds hot sauce with no spice- no flavor just burn- we had the crispy chicken sandwich- not juicy - overcooked- burnt in a fryer, we had the nachos which were ok but nothing I would return for- just ordinary average nachos! The artificial turf patio has all the stops--tire swings, picnic tables (even a mini one for kiddos), giant Jenga, Connect 4, bag toss, and a giant chair perfect for your photo op. Big groups can make reservations here. A plus if you want to have a fun gathering planned out. We opted to sit at the bar. The bartender was super busy and was busting his ass the whole time we were there...seemed like he had endless drink orders and I could tell he was overwhelmed, even with his helpers. I really hope the managers train the other people behind the bar to help him out more efficiently. Food was overall good, one dish we ordered took forevaaaa to come out, but they gave us a 10% off coupon and comp'd it for us. I tried ordering a porcharita, but they didn't have the ingredients to make it yet. The menu consists of American food with a Southwestern touch i.e. burgers, salads, nachos, Mac and cheese with green chilies, tacos, jalapeño poppers, ceviche. You get the idea. I think once this place gets its workflow and menu inventory on point, it will be a 5-star experience. So kind of bummed out. Took one of my employees here today. Service was great and really liked the atmosphere. My rating us really on my meal. My employee ate the nachos which looked amazing, not gonna lie. I had the BBQ Salmon Salad. Now, I wasn't expecting amazing but it was under whelming. The salmon was pretty undercooked and imagine a salmon on a large bowl of just arugula. Little to no flavor with some cucumbers chopped up. I was so excited for lunch today with my daughter. I've had The Porch on my bookmarks forever, but today was the first chance I finally had to check it out. The location is pretty large and also has a great outdoor area with games and such. It was a bit too cold for us today so we opted for inside. We were greeted right away and asked to scan a menu with our phones as they aren't using regular ones right now. We were seated right away near the bar area. The location was lit well and we could see all the TVs and a great view of the bar and outside. Our waitress brought over waters and said hello and asked if we'd like anything else to drink. Great start. I remembered seeing something called a Border Bowl but with chicken tinga ordered so I knew I was getting that. I could t wait to try it. My daughter chose the porch panini. We also ordered chilies, guac and salsa appetizer while we waited for our food. It's definitely a popular place as it was getting busier and busier while we sat and talked. Our food came out pretty quick and it tasted even more amazing than it looked. My border bowl was pretty spicy so if you don't like that I'd Recommend it minus the chicken or add a different protein. Without the meat this dish is vegetarian and gf. My daughter loved her sandwich and the truffle fries were great. I may have sampled a few. Wink wink. Unfortunately I can't give five stars due to service. After a great start our waitress literally was MIA. Never refilled our water, didn't stop to ask us how we were, walked by us multiple times with eye contact but no care . We sat and sat waiting for our bill and to ask for a box. She attempted to look at me again while we sat and was about to walk on by again when I had to raise my voice quickly to get her to stop and ask for our bill etc. I get the restaurant was getting busy and such and the food was delicious, but if I'm literally having to yell to get you to stop and so your job I'm a bit annoyed. The porch is a great little gem that has a lot of unique features. The drinks are really well thought out with their creativity. The appetizer type food is good for something quick while watching the game. I've been for brunch before and the bottomless mimosas come in a cute bucket. They also have shareable drinks for when with friends and snapping a few quick pictures before they are all gone. Sometimes the hostess will take a moment to greet you when you first walk in but you can always get seated pretty quickly as long as it's not busy. The staff will make your order right if something goes wrong. For example, I did not order a drink correctly and the waitress came back to check if I liked it. Once we spotted the issue she gladly took it back and had the correct one prepared for me and it was just right. read more
