I've been coming to the porch and more specifically the Tempe location for the last 3 years for at least twice a month. We've never had any issues with coming here until today. My grandma and I along with my little sister and two brothers always order the same thing. More recently I've had stomach issues and have been ordering off the kids menu. I was told by Emma after coming back from placing our order that I would not be able to order of the kids menu. She offered to check with the "manager" since we mentioned we've gotten kids menu items before on top of order regular menu items as well. When the manager came over he wasn't friendly and didn't even introduce himself simply "you want to order off the kids menu well you can't it's 12 and under" and pointed to the menu. He wasn't apologetic and he wasn't nice. He seemed like he just wanted to get away from our table. Our server came back and my grandma and I decided not to order. Seeing as the rest of our party had an order placed we sat and waited for their food. Which took over 30 minutes to even come out. We could see the manager looking at us from the kitchen when our order did come up. The only reason I'm even leaving a two star review is because of our server Emma. She was really nice and super apologetic about the whole situation which is way more than the manager did. Very disappointed and unfortunately will not be back. read more

As a Tempe local, I was excited to try this place. We has some family in from out of town so we recommended we had dinner at this place. I was beyond disappointed with our experience. Our dining experience was approximately 2 1/2 hours long, and maybe 30 minutes of that was spent eating. The waitress came over and took our order, but not the whole order just one side of the table to get the appetizers and walked away before we could order anything else. There was at least another half an hour wait before our waitress came back around at any point, and she may be stopped in once the entire dining experience. I ordered the chicken sandwich, where the bun was burnt, and the chicken was overcooked. Food came out at all different times, and some appear to be cold/somehow overcooked. Would love to give this place a second try given that is so close to our house, but not excited to return at this point. read more

Been here three time...twice for brunch and once for happy hour trivia. Each visit the food was amazing and the service top notch! Happy hour menu varied with excellent specials. We shared a short rib sandwich and fries...more than enough for two! Loved it! Both brunches were excellent. Today sat outside with friends and a toddler. Great outdoor patio for little ones who have trouble sitting still. Plenty of games and room to move around. Food was excellent! Today I ordered avocado toast..my grandson loves avocado toast. This dish did not disappoint! Plenty of food, the bacon was awesome...perfect for a toddler! And me! Did I mention the service is outstanding! We will be back again! so GOOD! The chicken tenders are melt in your mouth, and the ranch and fries are both delicious too. The ambiance is great, and just feels fun. I went to the location on my lunch break recently. The waitress named Bailey wore shorts with her butt cheeks hanging out. I have eaten at Hooters before- those girls shorts are longer. Smh. Bailey sat us at 12:10 and didn't check on us until 12:45 when my coworker had to yell to get her attention. Bailey then proceeded to tell us to she filled 2 large parties orders before us (2 people). Our lunch break was wasted and we left with no food. I called the general manager and never received a call or text back. Not a thank you or screw you. I assume the Tempe location is just trashy like this and they don't care. This place is cool!! First time here last night. Our server was really sweet and attentive. The food was good. I had the Lanai Chicken Sandwich and I would order it again. The Queso is not so good -comes out warm and runny but in a few minutes turned hard as a rock so you couldn't dip your chip! (This is my only reason for the 4-star rating). The inside is really fun. Heads-up: super loud TVs blaring if you like to watch the games :) otherwise it may be too loud for you. When the D-backs game ended they played music which was fairly loud but not horrible. The main thing I want to highlight with this review is that you MUST get their jalapeño poppers. Hands down delicious!! I came here w my mom early on a week day so it wasn't very packed. They'll have you scan the menu at the entrance via a QR code. We got seated fairly quickly and decided to dine outside since it was such a pretty day. Our server was very attentive. We ordered the poppers (a must!) and my mom had the porch burger and I had their border bowl (added chicken & blackened shrimp). This place seems like a awesome. Service was mediocre! We had to look for our server every time we needed him. This was on a random Monday evening and it wasn't a full house! We ordered the fried pickles and they were good ! The order was very small almost as if it was what was left that needed to be cooked.! They had to spread them out to even full the tray up. . A friend and I were driving around looking for a place to grab a drink and came across this place. It was jam-packed on a Sunday afternoon so we found a spot at the bar top. Service was ok, it felt like the staff had to attend to so many people that it was hard to keep up. I did enjoy the fun cocktail menu that they offered, we especially enjoyed the Big Trouble in Little Shanghai and A Strawberry and a Lemon Walk Into a Bar. Came here for the first time for an early dinner because it was nearby my office. I loved that it had a large patio while we are having such gorgeous weather, so we were able to sit on the patio. We decided to share the chicken tinga nachos to start - which were amazing (and a huge portion!), only suggestion is to get extra salsa on the side. And as we looked for an entree to split, our server gave us great suggestions, and when deciding on the forbidden rice bowl, he suggested adding a fried egg and blackened shrimp to the bowl - it made the bowl! We didn't finish either (because of such large portions) but loved both and would definitely recommend / order again. We can't wait to go back and order our servers other suggestions! read more

I have pretty high standards for what restaurants call 'Nashville Hot Chicken' and most places come no where near even approximating this delightfully painful yet simple dish. TBH I've never found really any satisfactory approximation of Nashville Hot Chicken since I left Nashville 4 years ago. Until today. Tonight I tried the Nashville Chicken sandwich at the Porch and I was so impressed! The texture, the red-hued grease, & the hot crust was legit. The kick from the heat was a nice flavorful slow burn....that got mildly emergent after several bites. I even hit a bit of that capsaicin buzz....and now I've got that nostalgic residual numbness on my lips (a half hour later!) I am from Nashville and was fortunate enough to be able to worship at the mother churches of hot chicken - Prince's and Bolton's back in the day. To be clear I never moved past medium in my accomplishments but came to appreciate the simple nuance of the chicken's dance with the spices and the flavor sealing crust. This dish at the Porch has the heart of it right - the bird itself. A might bit sweeter than the original...the flamethrower was still there. The crust texture was spot-on as was the juicy meat inside. From there it strayed far from the original plaster white Wunder bread opting for a fancy bun, some Cole slaw, & a highly suspect couple of apple slices. I think there was some sort of other sauce too....but the chicken overwhelmed it. And even the apples were at the least not distracting. Hell they might've even been good. My only regret is that I didn't find this lovely meal sooner....we were there tonight for my goodbye party as we move from Tempe to Oregon. I'm sad to think this sandwich has been so close without me knowing it. Kudos to the chef! No pic but man it was good! read more

The first time I came into this restaurant the atmosphere was great the look was nice and the food was good until I found a hair in my burger. They took my food off the receipt and apologized for the inconvenience but as we were about to leave there was cockroach running around on the ground and the manager came out with a to go cup and lid and had to ask another customer to lift his foot because there was a roach under it. It's an inside outside restaurant so I get it but the hair I don't get. read more
