After landing in Seattle for the first time during a day of travel, this place hit the spot! The restaurant has a few parking spots out front with some outdoor tables. We (my husband and I) were greeted and helped with navigating the menu, as well as how to order on their touch-screen kiosk. We ordered the 7 chicken tenders, and got half mild and the other half hot. We also got a side of the Port Rice. When we were there, the whole place was empty, but still, the table we chose was dirty, so we wiped it down ourselves. The greeting staff lady was very kind and helpful, but the other staff who brought us our food weren't as open to being friendly. The chicken came out hot (in temperature) as well as the rice. It didn't take long to get our food since we were the only ones there. The mild chicken flavor was my favorite. It had a good, unique flavor. The hot flavor was too vinegary for me, but my husband liked it as he sweated through the spice. We enjoyed the rice paired with the chicken. We didn't realize it until after, but they actually gave us 8 chicken tenders, so that was kind; they were large, too. We should have gotten a second side so that we had more of a meal, maybe something crunchy, but by golly, the prices in WA are insane for food, so we chose not to. They provided us with two dipping sauces in glass bottles, both labeled 'garlic sauce,' but 'garlic' was spelled incorrectly (maybe the art was made with AI? How did the marketing department miss that?). One bottle was white sauce, and the other was a red sauce, so we were confused why they were both labeled garlic, because one was more of a chili taste. The Bothell location has plenty of seating, but just a heads-up: their Kirkland location only has outdoor seating and it's pretty limited, so that one feels more like a takeout spot. Coming to the food, they have a big variety of grilled chicken, sandwiches, pita etc. We got the signature chicken with two sauces: lemon & herb and medium. Neither of them felt spicy to us, but we do handle spice well. If you can't handle spice, definitely pick a lower level. If you like spice, you can even go above medium. Also, don't forget to try their white sauce & chili sauce for the extra flavor. For sides, we got the rice and the perimayo corn. Both were delicious. We finished everything and already want to go back to try more items. The service was quick and friendly. Stopped by since I drove past this while visiting another restaurant last week and I love peri peri chicken! Unfortunately I wasn't the biggest fan of the chicken here, the portions are a bit small and the chicken wasn't cooked the best (tasted a bit dry despite ordering dark meat). Their garlic/chili sauce that comes on the side (ask for it if you didn't get any!) is pretty good though. Service is friendly and kind, they're happy to talk with customers and they came by when they realized we didn't have sauce at our table. So that's something you should note. Even though the chicken is grilled, the skin is pretty crispy. First a few logistics. No alcohol. Meats are Halal and there is plenty of parking in this shopping center. My cousins recently went to Ghana and talked of nothing but the delicious Peri Peri Chicken. I had tried to make it at home but I was unsuccessful. Also, I had never tasted authentic, so how could I replicate? Anyway, this place kept popping up in my Facebook feed and I vowed to try it. I finally got to do that today. The chicken was moist, succulent, seasoned well and absolutely delightfully tasty. It met my expectations of what Peri Peri chicken should taste like and then some. Now here's where you'll want to read and UNDERSTAND the heat scale. I always start with mild and work my way up if I have to. So we ordered MILDER MILD which is actually BELOW MILD. Even then, it makes your eyes water and I drank a lot of soda. It was so good though that I couldn't stop eating it. My friend had the Chicken sandwich which he devoured in 2 or 3 bites :) He loved it and refrained from getting another. The chips, the falafel, the mayo corn and rice were all excellent sides. The rice is nothing to write home about BUT it was the only non-spicy accompaniment and served to cool everything else down. The scale goes from plain to extra hot. I would never order this above MILD. Call me the Spice Wussy. I'm a 1-2 star gurl. The lemon herb did take the edge off of the spicy flavor and was good but i would say that everything except the regular fries was between 2-3 star spicy. In long I have to think the spelling is a little language variant, and these peppery flavors are coming from what I've always heard of as piri-piri (north African chile pepper). Everything showed up hot even in some fairly crummy traffic that turned into a long trip for our driver. Savory, sweet, warm, all kinds of layers of complex and perfectly harmonious flavors. As with many things on their menu, you can order it at any of about 8 spice levels. Kind of a bbq sauce but spicy and with a kick of lime. Thick and crunchy. Still warm after 20 minutes in the car. Try 'em at least once and see what you think. We might get them every time even though it's a splurge. You can order all kinds of extra dips and seasonings in small or medium portions. The menu has all kinds of other options, including many good veggie options that would really let your veggie friends and loved ones put together a full meal. They even have nice olives as a side. Tons of attention to detail that you don't see at a lot of other casual places like this one. The burgers, hot dogs, and chicken sandwiches all look like they're taking the gold medal in their categories, and they're very much in our future plans. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and was able to order right away using the self-serve kiosk. Staff were attentive and helpful when we had a couple questions about the menu. There were only a couple of other tables at the time so our food came out quickly. We ordered a plate with a thigh and drumstick, the peri peri chicken sandwich, peri fries and grilled corn. The peri fries were the star dish; they were perfectly fried with a crisp outside and soft exterior and the seasoning was perfect. A little disappointing that they charge you $1 for a very small container of peri mayo that is barely filled halfway; no other sauce comes with the fries. The main dishes we ordered tasted fresh and the serving sizes were large, but I found the chicken breast in the burger was way thicker than what's advertised in their pictures and therefore didn't have a ton of sauce/seasoning. The chicken plate was a lot more flavourful as we asked for the chicken to be extra saucy, and the seasoned rice paired great with their house garlic and chilli sauces. We're used to having Nandos often and I definitely found myself (naturally) comparing these menu items to their counterparts. Dinner tonight at Port of Peri Peri in Bothell. The South African flame grilled spicy chicken concept was made famous the world over, by the restaurant chain Nandos. We don't have a Nando's here in Washington state but now we have the Port of Peri Peri. PofPP has locations in 11 states and they're planning on new stores in the future.
