They put a lot of meat on it, which isn't my thing because I'm a veggie person, but it was my first time so I didn't know what to expect next time I'll ask for less. I will definitely be back. Truly awful, non-gracious service (and "policies"), greedy fast food dive. BOTTOM OF THE BARREL in Bothell -- and, generally speaking, I LOVE good Korean food. So I went in, optimistic, hoping to find something authentic (but this is NOT!). SPECIFICS: 1. No free water "I can't even give you an empty cup." Seriously. I thought that it was actually Illegal to refuse water to paying food customers (yes, I had already ordered), but even if this isn't against the law it the very HEIGHT of rudeness, lack of courtesy, and lack of consideration for customers. 2. "Sorry, there is no Manager." Yes, this is what I was told when I tried to complain. 3. My $20 bills were rudely refused. ("NO CASH!!") Still, I wanted to find out what the food was like, so, despite their rudeness I paid with a credit card. 4. Sorry I did that! Food was NOT remotely authentic or traditional Korean, although they did scoop some American-mild kim chee on to my.... "Korean Burrito." (Seriously.... it goes with their fried chicken, too.) 5. Ambience was in the style of Kentucky Fried Chicken Minimal Brutalism. Harsh lighting, tile everywhere. Best cleaned out with a fire hose. 6. My partner got sick after eating their food. I was excited to try this place because a colleague had told me it was pretty good. We decided to order through Yelp and set a pick-up time 30 minutes from the time we ordered. When we arrived to pick up our order, there was a line, and just one staff member directing the line. It wasn't clear that pick-up orders were placed on a shelf in the corner opposite of the entryway, and not wanting to seem like I was cutting others in line for service, I waited along with everyone else. There were perhaps just 2-3 people ahead of me, but I was in line about 10 minutes before I saw someone else come in and pull their takeout order off the shelf before following suit and finding my order there as well. For over $30, I would have expected this to exceed my expectations of Chipotle but I would have rather gone to Chipotle. I can't quite place my finger on it but this concept was a miss for me. It felt like the different components were haphazardly tossed into the bowl with no care for the same degree of presentation seen in photos other Yelpers have posted. The components individually tasted fine but didn't seem they were meant to be mixed like you would mix the fixings in a Chipotle bowl. Got a 16 piece chicken wings (which I thought where going to be chicken tenders b/c that's what I wanted but didn't want the meal) which came with reg fries, got deep fried cheese balls, small loaded fries. The food was very pricey, and everything tasted like oil. The wings didn't taste like any flavor, unless you think of oil as a taste. When I got to the restaurant, I didn't see my food ready, they asked me my name and they were just finishing the order, so I didn't have to wait long. I'm not really up to speed on all the bowls going around, so I was skeptical at first, but we've had Seoul Bowl twice now and each time was great. It's like a teriyaki bowl with rice and meat but includes some yummy sauces and pickled vegetables. Add some jalapeños and throw some hot sauce on top and you've got yourself a meal. Deliveries were quick and the food was still warm. I recommend pouring it all in to a large bowl and mixing everything together before eating. Keep it up, Seoul Bowl! read more

Flavor wise: Excellent! My only complaint is that the bulgogi bowl was WET. I MEAN LIKE, SOAKING WET. When I saw the employee scooping the bulgogi out I thought it was fine until I got to the bottom of the bowl. Why is there so much liquid??? It has been a hot minute since I'd been to Seoul Bowl (thanks covid) so I was morrreeee than excited to hear they'd opened up a brick 'n mortar location in Bothell. When I found myself nearby around lunch time recently, I knew it was time to stop in. What's cool about this location (vs. their food truck, which I visited 2+ years ago on Capitol Hill) is it works sorta like a Subway - you pick your base and your meat, then you choose from the wide, colorful array of toppings, add-ons, and sauces to make it special. And if you're in the mood for spicy, this is the place to come. My spicy pork bowl over noodles (with crunchy toppings and a spicier-than-spicy sauce) had me sweating by the time I was done. But in a good way! The portion was huge too. I took 1/2 of my bowl home to eat later. Oh, who am I kidding? I nommed it down in the car an hour later. And next time, I'm trying their chicken sandwich - it looks fantastic! read more

It's basically a chipotle, but Korean version. My husband got the japchae with chicken and I got the bulgogi on purple rice. We both also shared the bulgogi kimchi fries (my favorite) Overall pricing is reasonable, but not a huge WOW. Would definitely go back for those bulgogi fries though! read more

I love it- it's like a Chipotle but for Korean food! I got the fried tofu with purple rice. Tofu was yummy and freshly made, took a few minutes which I liked that they made it fresh. The purple rice was a little dry, I think I might go for the jap chae next time. The mashed potatoes and pickled radish were my favorite toppings! The sauce was really good too. I was in the area as I was staying in a hotel not to far from this place and after being bored with fast food over the past few days I decided to give this place a try. Service was quick and easy, the location was very clean and bright with plenty of parking out front. I love Korean food and Bulgogi is my go to whenever I go to a Korean restaurant. This was a no brainer for me once I saw it on the menu, there's something about it when cooked right that is irresistible. Unfortunately the Bulgogi taste here was not to my liking, the taste was there but the texture was not and I was grossed out. In a restaurant they cook the meat when you arrive, as it is thin it will dryout quickly so you must eat it fresh. The problem here is that the meat is soaked in its own juices, but and over time little pieces will break off. These pieces then clump to the meat and completely change the texture, which turned me off. I know this is just me, but I love Korean Bulgogi and after eating it all the time this change is not for me. There are other things that looking appealing like the chicken, but for now its a 3/5 until I try other things. read more

Yum!! I've been wanting to try this spot for awhile and originally was planning to grab food at their food truck at Cairn brewing, but it wasn't there so we went to this location instead. It's like a Korean Chipotle in the sense of you choose your base, protein, then add ons and sauces. I got a purple rice base, bulgogi beef and a bunch of toppings with yum yum and hot and spicy sauce. Meat portion was pretty generous, but topping portions weren't as generous as I was hoping. The regular Kimchi and pickled daikon were my favs! I would skip the cucumber kimchi next time, it was a little too salty. Bulgogi beef was super yummy, I'd get this again. We also split a large bulgogi kimchi cheese fries ($8) highly recommend! Fries were still crispy when we got home and it's a lot of food. Could have done with more toppings, ratio of fries to meat was a bit off but it was still good. Service was a bit slow which is the main reason I'm giving a 4/5 star review, definitely room for improvement. But friendly staff! Will be back. read more

This review is based on an order that was delivered through DoorDash. I did not/have not been to the restaurant and cannot speak for what that looks like. The order: Two custom build your own beef bulgogi bowls and an order of the bulgogi kimchi fries. The order came, without the fries. On the receipt it said fries but instead we got gyozas/potstickers. Not sure if they ran out of the fries and just replaced them with the potstickers but we were really looking forward to trying the fries. DoorDash refunded our fries. In my customized bulgogi bowl, I also didn't receive one of the toppings I requested which I was super bummed about. The bowls are $18 a piece which seems pretty steep for something that was mainly rice. There is a lot of rice and I ended up eating it in two meals but I felt like there could have been a better ratio. The taste was okay. I know it was a custom bowl and I ordered everything I liked in it but it was just okay. Not something I would order again. The potstickers that we received instead of the fries were okay. There was a sweet soy sauce drizzled on it which kinda made it soggy but still tasted like normal potstickers. I really wanted to order the chicken tenders (because typically Korean fried chicken is THE BEST) but that wasn't an option on DoorDash. I saw it on the online menu using their website. They did have chicken wings offered but those were $20 for 8 wings, fries and a side sesame salad. I didn't want to pay that for wings. Because of the missing items in the order, the food being "okay" and the prices, I won't order from here again unfortunately. There's other places in the area that we like better. read more

Dude the cashier was having a lunch. I think he was in between the break while I am working in to order. He seem not to happy much however I understand it and I also working in the food industry its happened sometimes. But still not really appropriate in front of the customer and second if he was on the break its not right to just walk back to work while you having lunch . The food was as usual pretty great. Checkout my review for their Kirkland branch. We are in general big fan of Seoul Bowl. Then why 3 stars? Hmm - had a really bad experience service wise. Ok, we got in pretty late 8.15 to be specific and the store was expected to close at 8.30. We kind of got a look from them and we're told the fryer is off. No issues, we would get bowl instead - but when they started making the bowl, the portion served were really tiny, like really tiny :( Anyways, the good part of this outlet from the Kirkland one is they have more options. They had squash + kale which I have never seen in the Kirkland one. The ambiance is pretty similar to Kirkland one. Fast food, to go style. read more

My partner and I went to try Seoul bowl in bothell for the first time yesterday. While I was eating my bbq chicken bowl I luckily spotted this before eating but there was a metal piece over an inch long in my bowl. It was very sharp and stiff. I'm assuming I must've been from the grill brush. If I were to accidentally eat this the best case would be if it were to have stabbed me in the mouth. If this were to be ingested it could've done a number on my stomach (puncturing/embedding) or it could've torn up my intestines. Major safety hazard :( On google the owner is trying to say it is a staple from the bag. We did NOT have our food bagged. We just took the bowls home. read more

What a great little surprise. First I love Korean food. So I have a bias. I also love counter service where you select what you eat. Think Qdoba/Chipotle goes Korean but done very well! First you select what your stuff sits on. I had purple rice. I had bulgogi beef and then kimchis-cucumber and cabbage one, picked radish, corn, cabbage, and a glob of mashed potatoes. Why mash potatoes? It's Korean food...no rules! It just tastes good. I had spicy sauce which I call Korean ketchup. You know the kind...gochujang with maybe some vinegar, some extra sugar and some magic. I love that sauce! It's hot as blazes but in a good way. We got a side of bulgogi cheese fries for the table. At first I wasn't sure whether or not to come here based on reviews and limited menu. We decided to give them a try and boy are we glad that we did!! I ordered the build a bowl with spicy pork and most of the toppings on a salad base. We got all of the sauces on the side so we could choose what we liked best. We also ordered the Bulgogi fries and the Bulgogi bowl with rice. They have a base bowl and add ingredients to your liking right in front of you. Starting with the fries...or I should say the kimchi. Not your regular spicy hot delicacy. This kimchi is full of flavor and lightly spicy, I could eat this by the bowl, and lucky for me, it is sold by the jar! Back to the fries, they are topped with kimchi, beef, melted cheese and yum yum sauce. The fries were a little soft and undercooked, still ok though; add the kimchi, beef, sauce and cheese and you have a party in your mouth! The beef is sliced thin and cooked perfectly. Onto my built bowl with spicy pork. Served on a bed of mixed salad - basically shredded cabbage. Pickled radishes cut into cubes, light lavender colored and mild taste. The pickled jalapeños were HOT . Of course the kimchi and cucumber kimchi were added. The cucumber kimchi was mild flavored and spice. I like the regular kimchi better. The roasted corn was just ok. The spicy pork was not spicy at all, yet tasted good. Mixed all together I don't really feel like sauce is needed. We did try all the sauces, nonetheless. Our favorite was the sweet soy sauce. The yum yum sauce is good for the fries but too creamy for the bowl. The sweet chili was bland and the spicy gochujang was anything but spicy. I added a little of the sweet soy sauce and mixed my bowl for a delicious meal. Bottom line, we liked Seoul Bowl and will go back again. I encourage you to go and decide for yourself! read more

Conceptually I think Seoul Bowl is a fantastic idea - bring common Korean street food ingredients together in a single serving. However, the execution falls flat. I got the (bulgogi) bowl with purple rice, roasted corn, caramelized onions, Asian salad, cabbage kimchi, cucumber kimchi, sweet mashed potato, pickled radish, and soy pickled jalapeños with Yum Yum sauce. Since it was my first time eating here, I wanted to try all the toppings and see how well they would mesh. Individually I think these items would work in a meal but mixed together it's hard to taste what you're eating. Traditional Korean meals serve these items as separate side dishes that you eat throughout the meal. While there are Korean dishes, like (bibimbap), which are a mixture of various toppings, the contrasting flavors here clash. You have acid, spicy, and sweet in a creamy texture from the Yum Yum sauce. You also lose the subtle flavor of the purple rice, which is a shame. The bulgogi was also surprisingly dry. The ingredients themselves are really fresh and well prepared. I thought the soy pickled jalapeños were delicious. Portion size was pretty small for the price.
