Post Oak at Woodway taught me the very harsh lesson of realizing that there is a difference between "Qualifying" to live at Post Oak at Woodway, and truly being "Welcomed" to live at Post Oak at Woodway.
Both management and sales person esme were very kind during the application process. Shortly after moving in, is when I began to experience the second hand treatment that white tenants were simply not experiencing.
Post at Woodway is marketed as a luxury apartment complex but there is absolutely nothing luxury about this property. With all of the chaos, busted water pipes, flooded apartments, faulty fire alarms, stolen property, stray animals, and power outages this property is nothing more than "Over Priced Government Projects"
I moved in 03/24/2024- Patio and Cosmetic construction took place, so I couldn't put my patio furniture out for the first 2 months. The sales rep never told me that construction was going to take place, if she would have I would not have moved in.
Here are a list of the issues that took place in just one year living at Post Oak at Woodway.
April 2023- Entire property had severe water pressure issues.

May 31, 2023- Freight Elevators not working
July 2023- Water sprinklers randomly went off and flooded building and most residence had to either move out or have their unit repaired.
Sept 5, 2023- Fire Alarms control panel randomly went off, and rang off and on for hours before the faulty lines were fixed.
Oct 9, 2023- Patio Construction still going

Oct 26, 2023- Water was completely shut off

(10) Work Orders from my unit:
7114784, 711785, 7114790, 7202276, 7202278, 7202279, 7467048,7484752, 7486979, 7486974.
Issues range from my neighbors apartment being flooded due to fault plumbing and the water seeping through to my unit.
Issues with my toilet several times, and tub, and ongoing parking issues
-I reported nauscious gases coming from my sink and tub, the smell was so bad that I had to sleep with my balcony door open, in the freezing winter, for fear that the gases would harm me in my sleep. I reported this issue 3 separate times and nothing was done about it. The manager stated that he would call a plumber out, but a plumber never met with me or entered my apartment.
- I had 10 separate occasions where security allowed tenants or their visitors to park in my parking stall, and each time I would ask they their vehicle be towed, the security guard would refuse because he didn't want to upset the tenants, so on each occasion I had to park in the visitors stalls, which was a insult considering I paid for my parking stall with my lease. This crap happened to me right up until a few weeks before I moved out.
I submitted 10 repair work orders, and two major concerns to the management team and each time they made me feel like I was irritating them, for pointing out things that need to be fixed. Both Josh and Esme had the disposition of we really don't want you here, so we're going to just put up with you until you leave.
It was like no matter how nice and kind I was, they still treated me like I wasn't a priority, and I didn't really matter. It's the subtle nuances that left me feeling like, these people encouraged me to move in to meet the quotas, all the while they never had intention on treating like I was truly welcomed.
I would encourage any hard working, self respecting black person, to choose another place to live, based on my experiences with Post Oak at Woodway, this place is not for us! read more
