When here with a group of girls you able to bring your drinks food and have a private room and everybody picks what they wanna do. I ended up picking making a candle. It was very easy relaxing like I said we just talked last until everybody was done then they melt together What you made and at the end of the night you get the candles. it's a place where people should try is not expensive and you could try candles. We have been to this location multiple times, and David has always helped us create art that we are truly happy with. He always helps us with what we want to find and answers any questions knowledgeably. I love asking him for suggestions because he always has great ideas. We drive 40 minutes just because this place is clean and even on its busiest day. It is not loud and overwhelming. read more

I had so much fun painting my sweet little figurine yesterday. This was a spur-of-the-moment visit after my crochet lesson ended. The workers were friendly and helpful. It's a beautiful space conducive to creativity. They keep the place nice and tidy though art normally can be a messy activity sometimes. Why didn't I visit sooner? I can't wait to go back! Highly recommended! It's not just for kids. I wish I had a big group of friends to paint with but I loved my solo painting meditation too. I'm so excited to see how my figurine turned out. Went to the Mount Kisco location with our granddaughters ages 4 1/2 & 8 and was very disappointed. Got a luke-warm greeting from Amanda who was very fixated on refilling the paint containers rather than helping customers. I mentioned that this was a first time here for that girls and asked to give them a little tutorial and an explanation of how things worked. Was told me to pick out a piece pottery and use the paint easel to pour the paint on. Amanda never addressed the children. Couldn't have figured that out ourselves. No one came over to ask how it was going even though the place was empty. Had to ask for water to paint with to get started. When I asked David a question, he was polite and brought over a squeeze tube and explained how to use it to do some detailing. No beef with him. Upon checking out at the register, I was never asked how things went by Lela who presented in totally flat manner. When I volunteered that we were disappointed by the lack of customer service. There was no response just interested in how I was going to pay. I questioned what the additional $16 fee was per pottery piece I was told there is an $8 firing fee per item. I said I was never told about this fee and asked why there wasn't any signage indicating this additional charge. Amanda said that she usually mentions this fee before hand. She didn't. I won't confuse either Amanda or Lela with someone who gives a damn. I agree with the person who previously posted that the owner or someone more mature should be present. I was planning on making a surprise adult party and I was glad that I made this dry run beforehand. No future party here. Too bad because the space and concept are lovely. read more

This place is a perfect change of pace for all ages and I'm so happy I stumbled upon it with my girlfriends. I liked it so much the first time that I came back again 3 weeks later. It's walking distance from many restaurants as well as the Metro North station which makes it a perfect destination from Manhattan. The spacing and required mask wearing make it COVID friendly. I love the selection of pottery pieces to paint (I painted a soap dispenser the first time and a bird the second time). The customer service could be a little bit better and I would recommend they post signs about the different processes of picking out paint/ how to glass fuse that way first time customers aren't overwhelmed. read more

Recently my best friend and I took our kids to The Pottery Factory in Brookfield. That was awesome day for all of us. Since COVID we have had limited time together and this was a great fun activity where we could be masked. We have been there several times before and loved it. For those that may not know how it works at the studio here is a description. You go in and paint a piece of pottery, they charge you for the piece of pottery and $7 per person for paint. Before you leave you pay and then come back and pick it up once they glaze it. We spent over $200 that day for both families which was 6 small pieces of pottery. My friend is from out of town so I went to pick up the finished pieces on my own. When I arrived to pick up our completed pottery i was told by the innocent staff person that they incorrectly charged us for one piece and their boss said I had to pay the difference. I was shocked at what I was being told so I asked for the manager. The manager, who was also innocent and young confirmed the same information and proceeded to tell me if I did not pay the difference of $11 I could not take the piece of pottery home. A child had already painted this item. Being a nurse and having been in Management most of my adult life I am enraged at this level of poor customer service. I am not in retail however customer service is customer service. I decided to leave all the items there and requested for the owner to call me to discuss further. This was on a Wednesday afternoon. I never received a call. I called on the following Friday and was told he would definitely call or email me that day. No call and no email!! I wait until the following Monday and still no call. I now receive and email from the manager NOT the owner telling me the cost difference is now $16. I call the business and am more furious the before and AGAIN request a call from the owner. I continue to wait!!! Still no call. I then email him the entire story to be sure he has all details. I explain my position and remind him that I am a Brookfield mom and I recently purchased 18 $5 gift cards for my daughters class for their Christmas party. I worked with him then so the kids could have an opportunity participate in a weekend activity and support a local business. I also share in the email I am a local nurse and my husband is a local officer. I explain my position on how this was handled and the reason I feel so strongly the way I do. Lets face it business sucks for many people these days due to COVID. We spent over $200 that day during a pandemic when we certainly did not have to. You can see the response to my email below from Dan Freely the owner. He quickly responds to an email but would not call me. The best part as you can see in the email is the price difference started at $11, then increased to $16 and then he was forcing me to pay $17.06. I would have loved to tell him where to stick all the pottery and get a complete reversal on charges from my bank. Unfortunatley I would never do that to a kid. Thos was their artwork and their memory. So today I went and paid the difference of the $17.06. (See my pic below) $10 in gift cards and $7.06 in change. Sorry but not sorry!! If I didn't have the Giftcards from my daughter and one of her classmates I would have paid him the full $17.06 in pennies. It was never amount the money...I can certainly afford the $17.06. It was simply about the principal!! And even worse is hiding behind your young and innocent staff. Once I paid today I apologized to the young manager if I was rude or offensive to her. I then said I only hoped she had learned better from her own parents and knows that her bosses actions are not the norm of human or business owners behavior. When I left the Pottery Factory today myself and another Brookfield mom and our kids went to "Create Escape"in Danbury. This another art studio where the kids can paint pottery. What an AMAZING experience!! Not only was the owner Heather present but she assisted and checked in on her patrons frequently. It was also WAY CHEAPER!!! Imagine she does not charge and additional $7 for paint per person!!! Today for 4 people we spent $75 when at the Pottery Factory for 6 people we spent $210. I will definitely be supporting this business again. She does art classes for the kiddos also. . Check her out!!! My apologies if this email has offended anyone but I feel like in times like these transparency is key. I will always support local when I can BUT show me poor customer service, poor communication, and don't appreciate my business well then you can SHOVE IT!! Peace out Pottery Factory!! There are many art projects within a wide price range too. Make sure to arrive at least an hour and change before closing to ensure finishing your project. I used to come here all the time with my son -- they have a great staff who is very helpful (and cleans up after a toddler painting -- BLESS!) The selection is awesome and supplies are always ample and neatly displayed. Recently, we ordered "Pottery to go" to paint at home during quarantine and had a fun experience painting figurines in the backyard, which we recently returned to be fired. Over all I had a good time here. They have a lot of pieces to choose from and a lot of colors. I'd like to come back one day and try the glass fusing. The only problem I had was all the young kids working here were rude and unhelpful. They couldn't answer any questions and gave us an attitude every time we asked them something. Owners should really be present. Wanted to do glass fusing. Two workers present, young girl was less than thrilled to walk us through it. Rush job explanation. Then she left fast to be on her own; why not help a group and demo the process; offer tips? The place was empty. It would be nice to have magazines/catalogues with design examples for inspiration like other art places have. Nope. The drawers with different color glass chips needed more material. I wanted blue, drawer was pretty empty with bits left. Why pay over $40 dollars if you can't have your color choice? I could have used sheets and broken them at an additional fee, but why? If they should have stocked the (free option) drawers with the colors? So I tried candles, it also was disheartening because I asked if there were seasonal wax shapes and the girl said no. Summer insects, daises, unicorns and mustaches were not what I wanted. No holiday turkeys and snowmen? I took the daises (not thrilled) to try filling the mold. The girl ran through the cutting and left to the back. I tried to have fun even though I wasn't happy with the mold shapes; I really wanted holiday shapes; and the male worker (also ganging in the back and the register not doing much; place was empty) comes by and says I should be making my squares smaller . Okay, I quit because if the candle is going to cost over $30 and I didn't get the mold shapes I wanted to make a seasonal candle; wax is mostly summer colors not winter colors) and I'm not enjoying the process due to criticism (yet, he never came to our table to offer guidance and suggestions; actually he was the one who suggested the girl, who made a less than thrilled facial expression , would help us when we walked in ) why the heck am I spending this kind of money on a candle??? So I quit. 1. Get workers who enjoy arts and crafts and want to be available and helpful 2 have workers who make the materials needed; stock the color glass pieces in the drawers and create current seasonal wax molds for the candles. It's the holidays! 3. Have magazines or laminated pictures for inspiration to look through 4. Owners should be present; workers aren't going to care; it's not their shop.
