We had purchased a date night experience on Giftory for 2 people. We booked the 8pm class on a Friday evening. When we arrived the instructors were very welcoming and had us look at some of the pieces on the wall and social media for inspiration purposes. The place is small so it was us and another couple and we each got a private instructor. It's also BYOB. The reason for knocking off two stars: we were not told at the beginning of the class when we were deciding on what to make that painting our pieces would be an extra $100/person. Without painting the pieces, they are not food safe. I was disappointed to learn all of this information halfway through the class after sculpting my bowl on the wheel. I wouldn't have decided to make a serving bowl or a mug that I can't eat/drink out of; I would have picked something else. The date night experience that I purchase did not mention anything about this in the fine print, so we just felt deceived. While the experience was fun and we are happy we did it, just make sure to ask questions as to what is included BEFORE you decide what you're going to make.

First time in a pottery class, my boyfriend surprised me for our anniversary. Rachel was super attentive and so helpful with our class, she made the experience special and we had the best time!

Am I hooked on pottery now? Had a great time with Nina and Riley today! I've never taken a pottery class, so I was very nervous and excited to attend my first class. Riley and Nina were very encouraging the entire time and made me feel super comfortable. Riley was very good at explaining all of the steps and guiding us throughout the process. Nina helped us breathe life into our pieces with color and stencils. We were super pleased with how our pieces came out and would absolutely come back for another class!!

Me and my partner had a wonderful experience. Both beginnings are we were pleased with the results...I made a ashtray and my partner made a beauty mug.. Riley and Mina at the Water Street location were so much fun and patient to work with and had a great playlist to listen to. I would recommend this experience/location. We were there for a couple session but needed being then only ones that's showed up, so we got a nice unplanned private session.

This was my first time doing something like this and Pottery Studio 1 is the place to be. The booking process was very easy. Once we arrived we were greeted by our expert Harper who was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Harper made this experience so fun and informative for beginners, I was very excited to jump right in. Even on a rainy day it was fun to over look Fidi while molding my clay. My partner and I enjoyed this experience so much, I am excited to pick up my master piece and even come back another time with a larger group!

Had a wonderful time and am so happy with my masterpiece. Heaven was really great and made the process educational but chill at the same time. Will be back!

What really sealed the deal for me was the ability to paint and leave with your masterpiece on the very same day. It was super important for the kids to take home what they worked on; waiting a whole week for a pot to cure and dry is something we can save for a future birthday. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed. There were other kids happily making soap, and the woman who greeted us kindly explained that we could pick whatever we wanted to paint. Once we selected our items, we paid and were set up at a table with paints, brushes, and an apron. I'm so glad she made sure we knew the paint didn't wash out of clothes. Pro-tip: Even if you're not painting, wear the apron. Trust me, your shirt will thank you for this advice! The kids had an absolute blast. It was so interactive, and once they finished, they had blow dryer stations so we could dry the paint. The best part? They took the painted items to the back and made them all shiny! This place is a definite hit. And I hear it's fun even for adults with no kids in tow. Girls' night, anyone? Sign me up!

Fortunately, the number of stars that I had for each experience was five. The first time around I painted the Cinderella figure and my mother painted the pumpkin figure. The second time around we painted mugs. The two projects required two different types of paint. Unfortunately, the prices are kind of insane. The Cinderella figure was $49.99 plus tax, the pumpkin was $29.99 plus tax, and both mugs were $29.99 plus tax. Even though it was expensive I still had so much fun and everything I made came out looking great. Everything my mom made came out looking great. I can see myself coming back, and I can't wait to see what my pieces look like once they're out of the kiln.

The workers were so great at accommodating not only our extra time, but also all of our requests for more paint, questions, etc. they had such a wide array of pottery to choose from. there were a lot of examples of painted pottery available for us to get ideas from, which we all really appreciated. the location itself is pretty big, allowing for multiple groups of varying sizes and ages to work at once. only complaint is the price of each pot, but obviously that includes the cost of paint, firing our pottery, and other necessary fees. Otherwise, this experience was great and I would absolutely come again!
