been the biggest fan of this place since i was a kid!! i feel like ive gone every year and its really nice how many changes theyve made to grow the business. even on weekdays it gets pretty busy, so def recommend a reservation. the workers are always really nice and helpful, and i love that they offer snacks n canned drinks as well as allow outside food/drink. now are my cons but not rly cons? love this place so theyre not bad enough to stop me from coming or recommending, but theres def some things i and my friends noticed overall. id hope that the place gets a bigger variety of glaze colors maybe? i feel like its been the same for a bit. or even the glaze with different effects. additionally, if there can be a little key to the small glazes in piping bottles it would be superrr helpful to know what theyd look like. we found ourselves walking back and forth 10 times just to see what they were compared to the big bottles. also, if they can have a larger variety of plain items at a time i think it would be nice! when i originally came in there were very few options, but when i came in to pickup my pieces there were a LOT of plain, non charactered/textured cups, bowls, and plates. lastly, i would loveee to join in on their classes to make my own pieces, but its super unfortunate to me that it seems theres not that much opportunity for designing and painting it myself. even if it was an add on fee id definitely be down, but if im already paying about $50 for a piece it would be cool if i can have the option to make it exactly how i wanted. read more

There's something for every budget... our pieces were around $20-$25 each, with both more affordable and higher-end options available. In addition to the pottery cost, there is a $9 studio fee per person, which covers all materials, glazing, and firing. We ended up spending close to three hours painting, and the time passed quickly in a relaxed, creative, and very family-friendly environment. The staff during our visit were welcoming, patient, and happy to answer questions or offer guidance, which made the experience comfortable even for beginners. The pickup process was slightly less seamless than the painting session itself. We were initially quoted about a two-week turnaround and needed to follow up when we hadn't received a notification yet. There appeared to be some minor miscommunication regarding readiness and text alerts, but everything was eventually sorted out. Very disappointed. Made an appointment while my grandchildren were in town to experience using a pottery wheel, as advertised on the website. When we arrived we were told that we had not signed up for the correct day which was confusing as I had spoken directly to staff a month before they came. We did not stay as we weren't interested in painting pre-fired pieces. The studio is very large and looks well organized. If you want to do the typical ceramic painting, they have a very large inventory of pieces at all price points. Staff was friendly upon arrival. read more

ART IS FOR EVERYONE!! Stumbled upon the cutest pottery shop at Town Square who would've thought and the team working there are all super chill college students and young adults. So, my daughter won a gift card here and we spent an afternoon painting together. So fun. I really cherished this time with her just like when she was a little girl. We get there the place is quite large-- a bit overwhelming with a lot of stuff happening. But it's a wide open creative space. Has a very peaceful and tranquil feeling to it as well. We pick out the ceramics we want to paint then we go over and select the colors for our pallet. Find a table to sit at and then start painting. There was really no time limit. We just painted until we felt like we were finished and then we turned in our masterpieces and checked out. We were told it will be done in a couple of weeks. When it was completed, we picked it up in their new pop-up location, which was the other side of Town Square. Another very cute and quaint location a bit smaller as it is their new temporary space like they mentioned. Just so so so cute and they're very nice. The ceramics turned out perfect. We've visited this studio a few times before and have had good experiences, which made this visit disappointing. On a weekday afternoon, my teenage child and a friend stopped in to paint two mugs. My child had brought cash, but the studio didn't accept cash, so I came in to pay with my card. When I asked if I could pay upfront, the employee at check-in seemed annoyed and told me it would "take too long to input the information on the ticket." The studio wasn't busy, and there was no line. When I returned later, the kids were still painting, so I asked another employee if I could pay before leaving. She said yes, but then simply stood there before pointing me to someone else. The kids enjoyed their time, but the customer service was disappointing. My friends took me out for my birthday celebration here and we had so much fun! We made a reservation online and got our own table. The painter's fee is $9 each and the additional price depends on the piece you choose to paint. They had many types of pottery, from salt shakers to plates, trinkets to vases, dogbowls to toothbrush holders, etc. They recommend coming 10 minutes before your appointment to choose your piece. I did notice that after we all chose our pieces, new pottery designs made their way onto the shelf that we did not see before. The staff made sure to explain their process, but if one forgot, the postcard they gave each painter had instructions on the back. Also, the postcard was used to hold your paint, which I did find a little difficult to keep all the paint colors separate from each other. If you needed to clean your postcard, there is a sink next to the single restroom. Paints were located on one side of the studio next to the cabinet of stencils and aprons. For the finer details, paint pens were available at the check-out counter. I do wish there were more paint pens available as I had to check back multiple times before the color I needed was put back (I believe there were only one paint pen of each color). There was a small party going on one side of the studio where I saw people with outside food (pizza boxes and drinks), so this would be a great place to have a small party with food! Overall, I will definitely be back to paint more pieces as this was such a therapeutic activity. Nice concept of something to do near the strip. It was super busy when we went. The ladies working up front give you their spiel of how it works before you get to your table. They have an okay selection of pottery to choose from. Once we got to our seats, we were given a small palette to include maybe 4 colors at a time. The paints were grouped by shades of color. The people who worked here did not come around to check on us or help, which is probably not expected here, but at other pottery shops there were people that would check on your table and help when needed. You'll need to let your creative juices flow and just hope for the best that your paint project comes out good. It takes about two weeks to get your completed ceramics back. It will be exactly two weeks tomorrow and we haven't received a notification that it's ready, so we'll probably call tomorrow to see if it's ready. read more

The event took up the entirety of this place and it was super wholesome to paint and bond with other like minded individuals. This is a great date spot or family friendly place also. My girlfriends and I take our children every year to paint a Christmas pottery. It's a little tradition. We tried The Pottery Shop this year instead of Color me Mine. Pick your piece, wet it down to clean it, and then go grab your paints and brushes. They have guides with the glazed color options so you can see what colors your piece looks like after glazed. This location does get busy in the evening and weekends so I do suggest a reservation. They also do fun themed paint days like charcuterie paint nights, character paints (such as Elsa from Frozen) for kids paint day, and they have a pottery class where you can throw your own pottery. I would have liked to see more input or assistance from the employees but we still enjoyed ourselves. We did clean up after ourselves which wasn't a dealbreaker at all but they do ask for a tip when you go up to pay for your piece. Our group was told 14 days and it took exactly 14 days before we all received our text saying it was ready. It is lots of fun for all ages and very relaxing. They offered a flash back Friday deal on their website (takes you to event brite), you need to register online or mention the deal and they will honor it. It was no studio fee ($9) all day. The pieces we chose were all under twenty dollars. The total was $60 and fortunately town square concierge was offering a $10 gift card if you spend fifty dollars or more. Koi was very helpful and patient with me as it was my first time. They have silkscreen images that look so much better than a stamp or stencil. The Pottery Shop is a well organized spot with plenty of pottery and paint options. The way it works is you pay a studio fee plus the cost of the pottery you choose. You leave your creation for firing and pick it up about two weeks later. All of the brushes, paint, and firing are included in the studio fee. There are at least half a dozen shelves of pottery to choose from with a range of pricing options. Children under four don't pay a studio fee. Only painters pay a studio fee. On Tuesdays they have toddler hours. Check their Instagram for special events like princess painting events. The studio was well stocked and organized. Each table has cups of water, brushes, and paper towels. Palettes go to the paint wall where you fill it with your paint selections. They have a huge selection of paint with displays showing how each color looks. The wall also has aprons, extra brushes, texturing tools, and extra paper towels. My three year old had fun painting here and I'd say she was just old enough to enjoy it. Painting held her interest for about 10 minutes which was enough time to paint a small mermaid. I probably wouldn't bring a younger child. The only negatives with the shop are the incredibly slippery floor and the filthy bathroom. The floor in the shop are like walking on ice. My mom commented that she was surprised nobody has been seriously hurt walking here. Thankfully my toddler only slipped once and I managed not to slip on my pregnant belly. I had so much fun here! My sister had been previously and decided she needed to take me. This is right across from the new Pop Stroke in Town Square, which is really easy to walk to from the parking garage. Our reservation time (be sure to make a reservation time online) was for 11am (when they opened) on a Sunday. There were maybe 2 tables of people when we arrived, but by the time we were getting our painting underway, it was getting pretty full in there. The studio fee is $9, and you pay per piece you paint. The prices range from $10 to $40 per piece, depending on what you get. I was debating between a couple of things, but finally settled on a sort of bowl that was $18. I believe you only pay the studio fee up front. You pay for the piece when you are done. They give you a card to hold your paints and some instructions, but everything is pretty straightforward. We sat at a table for 2 with some sponges and water to wipe down our pieces and then got going on painting. The music was bumping, and I was having a great time! I felt like I was taking a really long time to do everything because I'm so particular, but no one came over to kick us out or rush us. We were checked on once, which was nice, and then left to do our thing. They have stencils, tracing paper, and all sorts of brushes to create what you want. By the end, I paid, I think, around $26 because I had a free studio session, bought 2 stickers from the front, and included a tip. It takes about 2 weeks for them to glaze and fire the pieces, and then you can pick them up! We are still waiting on ours, as we just went this past Sunday. This is a great place for adults and kids, but if you aren't super into the kid scene, I would suggest coming closer to nighttime, maybe. Another tip, wear shoes with grip! The floor is tile, and pottery dust and paint get on the floor and make it very slippy. I almost slipped walking back with my paint card, so just be mindful and careful. Their pieces also do sell out and change, so if you see something you love and would regret not getting, just get it. My sister saw a mug she really liked her first time and hasn't seen it since. I had such an amazing time painting pottery at this establishment. I was greeted by a lovely young lady who actually teaches the pottery classes. She explained how the process goes and gave me a pallet to put my paint on. So how it works is, you pick a ceramic that you would like to paint. Ranging between $10-$60 bucks. I picked the elephant piggy bank that was $52 bucks. They also charge a shop fee of $9 per person for the paint materials & to melt the ceramic when it's done. You also don't pay until you're done with your art as well. They keep the ceramic for 14 days and will text you when it's ready for pick up. They have aprons so the paint doesn't get on your clothes but keep in mind it is all washable paint. They have nice music playing in the background while you paint & they also have snacks for purchase. Really amazing time. Keep in mind they do close at 9. So I came in at about 7:30 & felt kind of rushed to leave at about 8:40. A young lady with red hair that I hadn't saw all evening came out & just started grabbing paint off my table at 8:55 & asking if she could take the bowls & brushes & that I needed to head to the counter to checkout. So she was pretty rude & snappy but other than that little hiccup it was a wonderful experience. I came back on the next day to finish & it was wonderful. So I know next time to come earlier if I'll be painting something that big. read more
