The instructors G and Jahson were so nice and super friendly!! We had so much fun experimenting with different shapes and ideas we wanted to create. I loved how super informative our instructor was demoing how to wheel throw and she helped whenever I was stuck. I can't wait to try it again soon!

I had taken an 8 week pottery class at another location a decade ago. I got that creative urge to…read moretak another and chose the intermediate class at Common Ground Pottery. Little did I know I was WAY out of practice and not really up to intermediate level. That didn't stop me though. I pushed through the stuggle and came away with 3 respectable pieces. That is due in large part to instructor Colin. I wasn't always able to follow what he was doing but he was patient with me and showed me close up what to do. I still wasn't able to pull the exact shapes I was envisioning in my head but I am happy overall with what I was able to make. I was actually worried about one piece and even went back to the studio to have them toss it. I had gouged the side and patched it back together. I was afraid it would blow apart in the kiln. But I was assured it would be ok. And guess what? It was! Of my three pieces, the large bowl I made as a fruit bowl is my favorite. This is followed by a flower vase. My least favorite, a bottle, is the one I was worried about blowing up. I botched the top a bit but I made the best of it. I hid the top by turning the piece into a table lamp. And now I like it just fine. Some small regrets I have are that I wasn't really able to finish the pieces. I trimmed the vase and the bowl. I wasn't able to trim the bottle since it was made on the last day of the class. I also did not get to glaze these for myself. But Colin took down my glaze choices and that was done for me. And they came out beautiful. The vase and the bottle, similar shapes, were done in a denim blue. The bowl was supposed to be green but came out a little more aqua with some iridescence. Looks nice but not as dark as I was imagining. I don't know that I'm ready to jump back in to pottery again but I do still have some other ideas. I keep thinking I want to try hand building since I've twice done wheel throwing. I'll be sure to keep Common Ground in mind for that and see what they have to offer.

It's better to clean your own greenware because their greenware isn't cleaned that great, the pour holes are often choppy and the seams aren't clean. They have basic glaze colors, but you can also bring your own glaze in. I would definitely bring your own set of brushes, they are not in good condition here. The place needs a good cleaning, dust from clay is all over the shelves and floors and they never get washed. The bathroom is pretty gross too. The overall atmosphere is cheery. You can also buy clay here and make things with your kids. The owner specializes in putting ashes of your loved ones into memorial keepsakes for your family. Out group "a cat riding a unicycle on a rainbow over a Christmas tree farm under a starry sky". Boom! Caitlin came up with the cutest drawing!! It looked super complicated but her step by step instruction made it so much fun and I'm not totally embarrassed by my painting!! We were allowed to bring our own food and drink to the party so we were able to snack on"paint drying breaks". The place is super cute. Located directly across from spring valley hospital. And Caitlyn is adorable!! She went with the vibe of our crazy group and was funny and goofy with us!! Absolutely will be coming back here with our team again and again!!

She gave us a tour and shared the various fun activities that this art studio offers. Art classes/creative sessions are offered all week long and are great for family outings, girls night out, date night, a birthday party, or really anytime you feel creative. We loved seeing that what you can create goes beyond just wall art. You can create your own resin drink tumbler, glass painting, fluid resin serving board, skateboard deck art, or have a patch party (decorating a hat with patches). Super cute store!!! They have a side just for designing area…read more For the designing side, you can either do arts and crafts where you can pick your charms and display them on objects. Or you can also paint ceramic stuff and they have different things you can paint and select from. Depending on what you get pretty reasonable! They do have flowers that you can build for Mother's Day. They have a percentage off, so definitely check that out. I did get a Mickey pop Mart was $20 so I think it was pretty reasonable. Rage filled, not rage therapy…read more Do not take the rage therapy class. It was not worth the money at all. $45 for a canvas to throw paint etc at. While being extremely hot and sweaty. It was so overcrowded and chaotic. No AC is a crime in Las Vegas with heat of 100+ degrees. Very little instruction given. There is a 2 hour window of time and it should have been spread out in blocks of time to have less people going at once. Not enough supplies for all who signed up. 0% worth it. We left pissed off and grumpy. The host seemed a little clueless and out of sorts. Not organized or prepared. No paper towels or anything to dry hands in the bathroom. Finished pieces on the floor for other people to step on. 0/10. Not the class as advertised
