This is a nice spot to grab a beverage and some food while in downtown Keene. We came here after doing some axe throwing a few blocks away. We sat in the bar at a high top table. We ordered a bunch of apps and beverages. We had wings, pretzels and nachos with chicken. The food was good! Service was efficient and friendly. Didn't have the best experience here, stopped in for some drinks and the owner and some other guy were very unprofessional and aggressive. From what I saw a girl working there was bothering two young men and the owner kicked the young men out without asking what the issue was. The owner then followed the two young men outside with another guy and proceeded to get in their faces. Just a very unprofessional situation and could have been handled better especially with Keene being a smaller college town. Makes me kind of worried for college kids coming to this bar, because if the owner escalates situations like this it can be a very dangerous atmosphere for our community that's visiting to receive an education. read more

The Pour House is a place to go for a bad night. I'll describe mine: My wife and I go to the bar to get a couple of beers. The taps include a 603 beer and an Allagash. I nod at the taps and ask for a 603 and an Allagash. One of the bartenders, Emily, pours an Allagash, and then goes off to a fridge and gets a 603 Seltzer. Whatever, I don't want to be difficult so I just take the seltzer, and it was pretty good. 30 minutes later after I've finished my first drink, I go back to the bar and ask the same bartender for a Switchback. She then told me I had to close my tab. It was only 9:30, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt and closed my tab as requested. I asked her after why she made me close my tab, and she said "I'm not going to give you another Switchback". My tab had no Switchbacks on it, just an Allagash and a seltzer, so I don't know where she got "another Switchback" from. I said "Excuse me?", and she told me she wasn't comfortable serving me because she thought I was drunk. I wasn't going to stand there and argue with her, so I said "alright", told my friends and wife, and waited for them to finish their drinks and left. Right after we left, a crowd of at least a dozen people barreled out of the door and some of them fought each other. Three police cruisers pulled up before we were out of sight. It seems like those guys were never cut off, but I was after a seltzer. Feel free to check the Keene Police report on that, but as far as The Pour House, go there if you want confused and uptight bartenders, and loose and violent patrons. read more

Last night I went to the pour house with four of my girlfriends. We went pretty early so they weren't checking ID's at the door. The second we walked past the bar we felt like we were being eyed down by the bar tenders/ servers. We sat down at a table and eventually one of the servers/bar tenders game over to ask if we would like to order anything. We said no at the time and eventually went up to the bar to order drinks. As we were getting our drinks the bartenders/servers were being very hostile towards us, and treating us as if we were all underage and lying to them (were are all 21 or older). One of my friends has celiac disease and as she was asking a couple questions about ingredients in certain drinks the bartender was very un accommodating and acted as if my friend asking questions was a huge inconvenience. We sat back down at our table and could see the server giving us dirty looks and talking with her friends who were at a table across the room from us. A little while later the server came over to us and asked for my friends ID who hadn't even gotten a drink, and then said to us "it just seemed sketchy that all of you got a drink except for her". Maybe she was the DD? Maybe she doesn't drink? These employees were all assuming that we were underage and made the whole experience incredibly uncomfortable. The bartenders here are rude and have very bad vibes. I waited at the bar for 10 minutes, waiting as they helped three people that came up to the bar AFTER ME, when I was waiting with my card open. After that, they took our full drinks when my friend and I were taking a funny video. After she took our drinks, she took our friends' drinks while they were in the bathroom. I recommend skipping this place. We checked out the Pour House for the first time. The group at the tables outside were loud and visibly intoxicated, so we decided to sit inside. I think the experience at this bar would be different if you are a regular or are with one. Inside was nice, but the people are not welcoming. My husband went to the bar to order, but the bartender was busy chatting with what appeared to be his friends, or maybe regular customers. We left without ordering. I am glad we did, because we had a great experience at the next place we tried. read more

I tried the Pour House Restaurant for breakfast today. The interior of the restaurant is nice and the staff are friendly. The speed of service was slow for the amount of business they had. The quality of the food wasn't great. I tried their breakfast sandwich and it seemed pretty slimy. It kind of felt like I should of been there for brunch on a Sunday, but I wasn't. Super touched bartender on 4/14. We had never been there before. Although we could have had room at the bar he made that impossible. We sat at a table right across from where he was standing. We are looking at menus and waiting and waiting and waiting. Another couple comes in that obviously was there before and goes up to bar to order. That's when we realized there was a small in back that says go up to bar and order. If he had any good sense of customer service he would have let us know that. Last time there the chicken and waffles were great, this time it was sad and over priced. The menu description made the dish sound exciting and worth the $10, what I got was a pretty much a plain waffle not at all what I was expecting. The patio seating was nice, the patrons were very friendly but the servers were frazzled even though it wasn't busy. Def a great spot but they could up their food presentation and quality. Stopped in with the family on a Saturday night. We arrived around 6pm and was seated by the owners son(who was around 5 to 6 years old. With menus in hand he found us the perfect table,the owner didn't want him to sit us, but we insisted we didn't mind at all. The restaurant is split into two sections, one bar and one sit down service, we were seated in the sit down service. The restaurants has a welcoming and warm feeling to it like your eating at home. My family got burger which they all enjoyed. I got the mac and cheese with crispy chicken, The sauce was rich with bits of Jalapenos in it and a mix of three different cheeses, very good. All in all we had a great experience, the prices are a little on the pricey side, but we all were satisfied with our service and meals. read more

Went in taco Tuesday and the drunken chicken tacos are the best tacos I've ever had. Margarita to go with it was also excellent.

My sister and I stopped here for lunch towards the end of the pandemic, when outside seating became available. There were tables out side and a sign to seat yourself and a waitress would be out. It was about 12:00 Waitress came over at about 12:15 and took our drink orders ....at about 12:30 she came out with our drinks and then told us the kitchens don't open until one...ok. That would have been good info to tell us BEFORE we ordered drinks but whatever, we said we were hungry so we would wait instead of looking for another place...at 1:15 she finally comes over to take our order and then tells us there's a limited menu of like 6 things. Again information that would have been awesome when we first sat down !! We ended up leaving and going to the pizza place down the road! read more

Went to watch the nfl ticket on a Sunday at 1 pm. Most of the TVs had the patriots games on with 3 large screens showing random games that no one was watching. I asked to watch the Miami Dolphins game and I got a laugh and a snicker and told I could watch it by the bathroom. I didn't mind the Dolphins comment but I didn't appreciate the unprofessional handeling of it. Needless to say I left and the 1/2 dozen "friends" had the place to themselves. Went into The Pour House on Saturday evening around 6PM. I sat at the bar and waited for about 10 minutes. I'd say 50% of the patrons glasses on the bar were empty. Bar tender was nowhere to be seen. There's so many places in that area for food/drink, I just left, no reason to have to deal with that. read more

Went to Yelp after we dined. That was a mistake as had we seen the rating, we probably would have picked somewhere else for brunch. SLOW service, food was just okay. Hubby had a salad...small.portion and the lettuce was not fresh. My fish and chips was mostly chips with one piece of fish. Tasted fine but not any different from any other mediocre restaurant. After a ride through scenic New England, Noel and I were hungry. We strolled around Keene downtown until The Pour House caught our eye. As we walked in I asked the bartender: do you have food? He said yes so we stopped. The bar is average sized with billiard tables in the back and a giant "wheel of shots" on the wall opposite the bar. There are three banks of beer taps. I only saw one. Sadness. On this early Saturday afternoon the bar was nearly empty with just two young women sitting at the bar. We sat at the bar and each ordered a beer from Kevin the bartender. Kevin gave us a menu which happened to be for the adjoining Mexican restaurant. I ordered fish tacos and Noel got shredded beef tacos. We shared a quesadilla. While waiting for our food we chatted with Kevin about motorcycles. The food was delivered quickly by one of the waitstaff from the restaurant. Fresh and hot. The sauce and pico with the fish tacos were great and the fish was cooked perfectly. The rice was dry and gross. Noel enjoyed his tacos and the quesadilla was loaded and delicious with guacamole and sour cream. This is a great little bar and having food from the Mexican restaurant was a bonus. My only regret was ordering my beer prematurely and without noticing the other two banks of taps. Kevin was great, personable in the small bar sort of way. read more

Husband and I came to Keene on a random Saturday trip. Late afternoon walking around the town, just enjoying the peace and quiet. We checked out a few places for a very early dinner and since we couldn't decide where we wanted to go, we stopped in here for a drink to continue our discussion. Drink specials board told me that Jack and ginger was 4$ so that's what I had. Husband had a White Russian to start and followed up with a vodka seltzer. The friendly bartender offered us chips and salsa to munch on which were great. We were surprised to learn this bar was directly connected to the Mexican restaurant next door. Fresh tasting salsa which we were advised was housemade. We were offered menus and told the food was all housemade. Hard to truly believe so we took that info with a grain of salt. As we perused the menu the bartender told us that we were still in happy hour which meant dollar hard and soft ground beef, chicken or shredded beef tacos. The fancier meat (fish etc) were 2$ per taco during happy hour. We immediately decided to order tacos. I had 2 chicken and 1 ground beef and husband had 4 ground beef. All soft shells. I also ordered a side of guac and sour cream. Food came out within 10 mins all wrapped in foil individually. Tacos each had lettuce and tomato on them. They were great. We both were shocked at how delicious they were at only 1$ each! Guac was good too. Homemade for sure but nothing special you couldn't make yourself. We would gladly order tacos here again. A full dinner for 4$?! Sold! They lost one star for the sickness that ensued on our drive home. Husband began complaining of stomach pain on the walk to the car after we ate. I figured heartburn or something similar. However when he pulled over less than a mile away to puke in a Wendy's parking lot I knew it was something else. The only thing we could figure it to be was the milk in the White Russian was bad since that really was the only thing that was different between our meals. We spent an afternoon in Keene and randomly wandered into The Pour House. They appear to work with the Mexican place next door as you can order food off of that menu. Huge selection of alcohol. I don't know if I've seen so many flavored vodkas. Great selection of beers on tap too. The bartender that helped us was so nice. Really sold us on the food next door and some of the drinks. Very nice crowd too - some regulars and some tourists. Plenty of tvs and the noise level wasn't bad at all. Only bothersome thing were the flies. Had to keep swatting them away from our massive and delicious nacho supreme dish from next door. We would definitely stop in again! read more

Wish I had checked the reviews first. We had just come from a college tour and were starving and just attracted by the pretty red sign. First off, the artificial apple cinnamon potpourri smell was the first turn off. Not necessary and frankly very unappealing to a lot of people. Not a great variety on the breakfast/lunch menu. Service was fine, food tasted OK. BUT- one person in our family party-the only one who ordered the chicken, was violently nauseous for the rest of the day starting about 2 hours after eating it. The concept menu is great and the recent rehab is nice, but the food misses the mark entirely. It is unfortunate that this restaurant takes up so much real estate. Saturday early evening 5 pm my husband and I arrived at The Pour House. We we keen to sit outside and went inside spoke to a waitress who told us it was fine and someone would be out shortly. About five or so minutes later we were given menus and some water. We did not order drinks as we were going to be swimming and driving after our meal. The lady took our order. Me the fried chicken mac and cheese and my hubby a burger. The folks at the table next to us ordered as we sat down so we're about ten. They waited ages and were not happy. We waited too. 45 mins. For me it is not the wait it is the way it was handled. Bring out a few fries or something,smile and says oops sorry for delay we are doing our best. We did get a water refill at some stage. Our food arrived. The chicken was dark dark brown on the outside, almost burnt . Mac and cheese....... curly pasta with a broth. . I know what mac and cheese is. This was not.. I removed the crumb base ate the chicken and tried the pasta. No cheese flavor at all and no real coating sauce. When the waitress came to remove our plates I asked her if this was the way it was meant to be... her answer shocked me. She stated that people keep complaining about it but that is how it is. Is that how pour house wants to train their staff. No, let me check and see if there was a problem etc just take it or leave it. The table next to us were taken aback as we were. So, I'm not really sure how a bar tender (court is apparently her name) could be as clueless and unhelpful as this girl. Instead of offering a menu, she gestures to the wall and says its "ahn the wall" as she walked away. 10 minutes later we order two beers from the list we had to crane our necks to see, neither of which she has. Might have been worth your time to explain that you don't have two of the fucking 10 beers on your list. Asked what the local beer listed with a funny name was and she proceeded to read the name it was labeled as though we didn't know how to read English. Um, what style is it.
