Took a backpack blower that was one season old, literally used to blow leaves one weekend. Engine ran but would hesitate and bog down. Took in and he bad mouthed Husqvarna back pack blowers. Took it home and put it in my heated basement over the winter . Started it this weekend and ran exactly like before the owner "fixed it". Took it back to the Power Barn. As I was watching in line and told me he wasn't fixing hand held at this time...Guy in front of me had a weed Wacker he wanted repairs on??? I waited in line and when I walked up to the counter I explained that I had this blower in recently and that it wasn't fixed. Still had the tag for the first repair. Don't use this business. I said that I was going to contact the better Business bureau. He said go ahead they won't do anything anyway. Take your business somewhere else! read more

I took my snow blower In for our yearly maintenance in May. I was told it would take a month because they needed to work on lawn mowers. I was also told our machine would be covered so it would not be exposed to the weather. It took nearly six months because they couldn't get the parts (due to Covid) or they had a hard time finding reliable staff to repair because "no one wants to work". When I called to ask for a status update, I got excuses. I asked if my snow blower was exposed to the weather, I was told no. When I finally got my snow blower, it had rust on it. I was very upset because we take excellent care of our equipment. I asked to have the manager call me to discuss. No call. No responsibility. I will NEVER do business with this company again. Writing this review for my parents who are in their 70s. They had their riding lawnmower picked up for repair and was told it would only be a couple of days. After 3 days they were told nobody would even look at it until the next week. The next week they were told it would be the following week. Long story short, they had it 4 1/2 weeks to replace a battery, sharpen the blade, and change the oil. To add further insult to the injury, they were supposed to deliver it on Friday but never showed up. My parents had to wait until Monday to get their mower back. Nobody ever called, nobody ever apologized. My parents wound up buying a new mower just to be able to cut their grass because this place had it so long. Never again! read more

So far they are very disorganized. I had already diagnosed the problem with my mower. They talked me into bringing it in so the warranty would cover the repairs. It was a $40 part that takes 5 minutes to put on. I am now into week 2 and I finally got an answer that they looked at it. Still no idea if the tech ordered the part or if I'm just not going to be able to mow my yard the rest of the year. I normally like small shops with colorful rude employees. Left off my power washer because it wouldn't start after winter. Didn't hear anything for weeks, finally got repaired and went and picked it up. They never called and gave me a quote on how much these repairs were going to be, which I believe after a certain dollar amount is required by law, was VERY surprised by the cost of repair (I could have bought a used one for less). I took my push mower in for repair. When they called to tell me it was ready, I went to pick it up and they couldn't find it. They promised to find it and deliver it. The mower they delivered a week later was not mine but they insisted it was. I showed them photo proof but they still insisted it was my mower. I finally had to accept my own mower was gone but thought to ask them one last question - where was my mower when they couldn't find it. Nobody was able to answer. read more

Dropped off a self-propelled lawnmower, paid a deposit. After having the mower for over a week nothing had been done. We were told we would receive a call within a week. We never received a call. After 2 weeks stopped by and was told the guy that repairs mowers was leaves at 5 pm. Next day stopped by was told he leaves at 4 pm. After 2 weeks, we decided to just take the mower without service. The manager didn't apologize or even try to make the situation correct. We lost the deposit because they have a nonrefundable clause. WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE! read more

Dropped my Honda lawn mower off February 23 for what turned out to be a bad carburetor and a bad bearing for the self-propelled function. Finally got my mower back after two months. Runs great but the bearing was either not replaced or not reinstalled properly. Same bearing noise. Thought about taking it back but, why? During a 'slow' period, it took them so long and as wet as its been, I need the mower. So, tonight, May 25, after roughly 20 hours of mowing since I picked it up, the bearing crapped out and I have no self propelled ability - and, since I have a partially ruptured Achilles, I have to have the self-propelled mower. So, 2 months to 'repair', $285, and a mower not completely fixed. You can imagine, I'm pretty pissed. I should've just abandoned the mower and bought a new one elsewhere earlier this spring. My new 2021 Toro electric start Recycler 22" ran great during mid-late 2021 season. Then during early 2022 season the mower started running rough,( mower sat for 4-1/2 months during late fall/winter season of 2021) so not that much use! So during 2022 season It was running rough (surging), so I took it to the Power Barn in west Lansing. They suggested buying their non-ethanol gas so I bought 2 gallons at over $7.25 per gal. It worked ok for a short time then acted the same, slow startup, running very rough, smoking a bit during startup, stalling. I took it back. What they did was really just a tune-up, (oil change, spark plug replacement, air filter change, sharpen blade etc.). He did adjust the throttle a bit. It ran better for a while but the same issues have been happening. I called Midwest Power in Okemos which IS a Toro approved repair shop. (I did check "The Power Barn" and they were listed as a authorized Toro repair shop). They said it sounds very much like the carburetor needs replacing! I thought that in the first place but I trusted Power Barn, the Ethanol free gas and throttle adjustment "seemed" like a logical conclusion. So I spent over $132.00 for a Tune-up basically and got no results! So the problem was diagnosed incorrectly and I'm out big $$. Also Midwest Power's non-ethanol gas is $2.00 less per gallon. I was concerned about the earlier reviews but this business was the closest to my home so I took a chance. They were great! They fixed my Cub Cadet in the promised time and returned it in like- new condition. I heartily recommend Power Barn Lansing! read more

Fullers was great, but this is now The Power Barn. Terrible place. Terrible customer service. Dropped off an edger at the Lansing store and told they would call in 3-4 days with a diagnosis. No call. Called them two weeks later and they said it was fixed and it was $60. Asked if we could pick it up. They said it was at the Mason store but would be back in a few days. Called a few days later and they said it was still at the Mason store and they had no idea when it would be back in the Lansing store. Went to pick it up at the Mason store. They charged $95, including fuel fees and shipping!!! Hate them and will never deal with them again. Ever!! read more

Absolutely zero customer service. They keep equipment for a long time, they don't answer the phone, the answering machine says you can text but you can't, they don't seem to communicate with each other, go elsewhere if you can. read more
