It's a little shorter than your average course but the challenge is in executing the shots. I'm only rating the driving range as I have not played the course since it reopened. The feel of…read morethe driving range is more like a top golf experience versus a traditional range. The Mas were in good condition and the top tracer technology, which is included in the price of a bucket of balls is terrific especially for practicing. My wife, who does not golf, was very happy sitting on the comfortable couches undercover with a drink truck 50 pieces away. My two negatives are 1. The facility does not have any dedicated place to practice chipping near Green and no one that worked there knew if that would be added anytime soon. 2. $10 for a small bucket of balls is on the high side but again, I feel like you are getting more of a luxury golf experience with the above things I mentioned so I'm willing to pay a couple of extra bucks. I live 20 to 25 minutes away, but Broad Moore's driving range is my go to for hitting a bucket of balls and having a good experience. PS - I will add that the clubhouse is very nice and I have also enjoyed a couple of good lunches there. I can recommend the burgers.

Prices are a bit high for a municipal course, and membership rates are in my opinion exorbitant. Fun fact: A temporary frisbee golf course has been established on the front nine while repairs continue.

Just a small pro shop, a smaller putting green and no driving range. I'm one of those guys that needs to hit about 20 balls to get the kinks out, so that was a bummer. However, the course was in fantastic condition especially the fairways and greens. It's mostly a wide open course but with crazy narrow greens on most holes. So bring a big driver and good luck sticking the greens. No starter, beer girl or anyone trying to enforce pace of play. The carts seem new and in great condition with gps maps that show your pace. I do question the yardage accuracy on the screen. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting to try mountain golf. It's a great value

Labor Day weekend stay…read more Pulling up it looked like a busy, touristy, historical, and grand estate rested atop, basked in the fresh mountain air, with a gorgeous view of the golf course and the blue ridge mountains. Pretty dog friendly, although mine is a service animal. Staff were all friendly with a warm southern welcome. Our room on the club level had access to their snacks and breakfast with drink options. The room itself came with a hugeee tub that I took advantage. However the room itself was a bit dated, and the sheets were horrible. Would stay again and try more of their amenity and the activities offered.

She was celebrating her birthday with friends, and since I couldn't join the trip, I arranged to have a gift basket from a local company waiting in her room as a special surprise when she arrived. About 10 days before her stay, I spoke with Guest Services by phone and followed up via email, providing the guest's information, expected delivery date, and all other pertinent details. I was told a note had been placed on the reservation specifically requesting that the basket be delivered to her room for her arrival. Unfortunately, that never happened. After she had been there for a few days without mentioning the gift, I became concerned and called the hotel. They discovered that the basket was still sitting in the shipping department. It was eventually delivered to her room on the second-to-last day of her trip, but by then the entire point of having it there as a special birthday welcome had been lost. The young man who helped me track it down was pleasant and apologetic, which I appreciated. Still, this was frustrating and disappointing. Sending gifts and packages to hotel guests is hardly unusual, and I had gone out of my way well in advance to make sure the hotel had everything needed to handle it correctly. I expected better attention to detail from a four-star hotel. While I can't speak to the experience of actually staying here, this experience would absolutely factor into whether I chose to stay at the Grove Park Inn myself in the future.
