Ok, brutally honest here. I'm upping my score because I haven't tasted their full menu. Their pizza was surprising. It looked mid, but it was actually pretty awesome. I can't speak for the rest of the menu, though. I loved the spot. It was cozy, felt like a fantastic local place, had good tap choices, and everything else you need. The service was great too, very friendly and accommodating. A great hole-in-the-wall type of feel if you're not from the area. Definitely worth a stop. read more

Why is it every time I come to this place I feel like I am gonna get bent over and end up forking over way too much money for sub par food at best. We went around 5pm on a Thursday evening. We got a couple of drink orders in prior to happy hour. Our waiter was really nice and acknowledged to us this was his first night. My friends wife got a double shot in her Moscow mule $22.00 for the drink and she got row of them. I got two beers, $8.00 happy hour for 4 bone in wings and the chicken wraps. The wings did not have much meat on them and they were super greasy. No flavor at all in my chicken lettuce wraps. The coleslaw they serve with it was not good at all either. But hey everyone else who ordered a burger and tater tots enjoyed their meals. We got our tab and the total was $190.00 for all of us. It just seems like they charge way too much for mediocre food. This is one of the main reasons I might only visit this place maybe ones a year. read more

I called and ordered a small cheese (request from our three grandsons) and a large supreme with all the pepperoni and sausage on half only and left the other half with all the veggies. Came in for lunch around noon on a Sunday. Not too busy. We were seated right away. The staff is always so friendly here. We love that! It's pretty dark inside. Very tavern feel. We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with Cajun tots and a grilled chicken wrap with waffle fries. The sandwiches and wraps come with chips and pickles, but you can upgrade your side with a fee of around $3-$4. The upgrades offered are waffle fries, shoestring fries, tater tots, or Cajun tots. We upgraded both our meals. My husband also ordered a pint of beer for $7.50. Seemed a bit steep for a pint of beer. The food was good, but my husband wasn't too impressed with the grilled cheese. He loved the thick bread, but since they grilled some hard cheese on the outside too, it tasted a little overdone. He said overall it was just too much bread. He added ham to it as well for $4. There were only about 3 small bacon-sized strips of ham. It didn't seem like $4 worth. The overall price for the grilled ham and cheese with tots was $19! Pretty steep. Overall the food is good and staff friendly. We'll definitely be back for burgers and pizza, which is what we usually come for. Sometimes, branching out on the menu doesn't satisfy. STRIKE 3!! First problem is they have several different people waiting on the same table and nothing gets handled right. Asked for blue cheese, we get ranch. $16 burger which comes with potato chips if you want fries it 3.00 extra charge . (Get a great burger and fries plus a soda for $9.99 at RED ROBINS). They don't come and clear the table. Asked for checks at the beginning we wanted separate bills. Only 2 couples. She brings one bill! Had them back to her and she brings back bills and still wrong. What a mess. Finally. She had to ring in our bill was the only way she was gonna get it right. Ordered an old fashion drink and it was half a drink. The new remodel is nice but the food wasn't. Stick with the pizza! We all decided to try something different. Onion rings, tattle tots and waffle fries were all so over cooked. Hard and not able to eat. It wasn't very busy when we came in and it took almost an hour to get our food after ordering. Bummed that this was our experience considering their pizza is amazing and the history of this place, now I know to just stick to the pizza. What was more upsetting is before we paid, we asked for the onion rings to be removed and sent those back prior to our other food coming out. We saw others get similar food to us and confirmed they indeed burnt our items. Could be a one off but was disappointed regardless. None of us finished our food. This is my third time at the Prairie Bar & Grill and let me just honestly say: Their pizza is good, folks. And I eat a lot of pizza. Tonight I had "The Brothers Steig" pizza (on a gluten free crust), and it was fantastic. The pineapple chunks kept trying to get away from me but I caught them and made them rejoin their toppings bretheren, and the cacophony of flavors was just perfect. The peppers were crisp, the pineapple not overpowering, and everything else just blended together quite well. I get why it's one of their most popular dishes. I also had a Spicy Margherita which was solid. Our server was wonderful, and handled the large group we were in very smoothly. She made sure everyone always had a full drink. Went to the"PT" yesterday and had the much talked about Pizza. Jeez, these guys really know how to put the flavor in a pie, great garlic tones along with a hearty heat from peppers that accented the pile of other tasty flavors.. Plenty of free parking, beautiful interior, happy help, and caring owners. We know the owners so I guess one could say we're somewhat biased, but no, this place just gets it right on so many fronts that it's a definite different experience to feel like you've finally got your money's worth. The service was really good here, they were checking on us often. The food and drinks were really good too! They have the best brussel sprouts ever!! The bacon is crispy and the flavor is so good!! I also had the steak and mushrooms which were tasty but maybe needed a little more seasoning. The portions here are big even for the appetizers so I didn't need to order a main meal. I actually like their pizza there, although the service left much to be desired. I went in and stood at the little reception desk, menu, went and sat down while the server stood and talked about her tattoos and never gave me a peep for10 minutes when I got up to walk out the door she finally approached me, but I left, I spent where they deserved. The only reason I gave three star was because I had a good meal there once before and give them the benefit of the doubt. Hospitality and great service will get great reviews and make tips. We had a reunion in the event space at The Prairie Tavern. This worked well for roughly 80 people. The food was buffet style and was very good. Despite a communication hiccup with the owners we had a nice time. Our waitress "Rae" was great! she was very personable, funny and organize. I appreciated all her hard work that evening. read more

If I had not ordered food, the rating would be 4 stars. Front house staff was attentive, beer list is decent, cocktails were good, and the prices were reasonable. But oh lordie, I had to order food. I have been to Brush Prairie Tavern many a time over the years (10+). I have been there 3 times in the last 6 months. Every single time the story is the same. The food is good, but the kitchen is sssslllllllloooooowwwwww. Like frozen molasses in Anchorage in January kinda slow. I have worked food service in my younger years. I know lack of staff can kill you, but they had adequate staff on the three nights in question. They just don't seem to do much. Tonight was 45+ minutes to get a grilled cheese. And they didn't add the ham as ordered. On all three recent visits, I have watched folks change their order to 'to go' because they were out of time and had to leave. In two cases, people simply demanded their money back and left. This isn't the first review citing the same problem. The manager should make some changes because this is killing their reputation. Prairie Bar and Grill has a very classy setting inside, a beautiful patio, and a stage for comedy and music. We met with 10 people and had fabulous pizza, great service and drinks. In my opinion they are one of the best food quality, menu choices and values from Woodland to Vancouver. Well worth the trip if you don't live in the neighborhood. A big thank you to Manager Shawna Risner and her staff this past Saturday night! Shawna was extremely helpful in setting up a birthday party for my husband. She had a 12 top table reserved for us and the forethought to ask for our menu order ahead of time so the pizzas were ready by the time everyone arrived.
