We stopped by President's Pub and had a great experience! They have a fantastic selection of IPAs, perfect if you like trying different beers. We also tried the pear martini and the chocolate martini--both were absolutely delicious. The pulled pork nachos were good, especially with the beer cheese! We also tried the crab cake special served over creamy risotto, and it was excellent. Service was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. Went to the presidents club for an earlier dinner. It's a very cool place. There's a large bar and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They even have an event room upstairs that you can rent. The service was pretty good. They were very nice and offered opinions on what's good. The fried pickle chips were good. Very hot. But good and crispy. The pretzels steal the show. They're hot and crispy on the outside, but super soft on the inside. They have a light honey on the outside and comes with cheese and mustard. They're a must try. The chicken wings themselves were really good. Fried nice and still juicy. Crispy and flavorful. The sauce was just a little different from what we are used to. The fish tacos were great. Nice and light. Had a good slaw on it with some jalapeño. Then they had their own homemade hot sauce which was amazing. Had some really good spice that lasted and they make it from the peppers they grow on the patio. I would go back just for that sauce. We will definitely be back again. read more

We went to the President's Pub for the first time and we will definitely go back. Julie was our server and she was outstanding. They have an awesome selection of beer and drinks. The food was excellent. I had the Tuna and my girlfriend had the crab cakes. It was hard to decide on what to order since their menu has so many options. Stopped at the Presidents Pub on a Friday evening on the way back to Cleveland from Ohiopyle and was very happy I did. Located in the downtown area of Washington, PA there is plenty of parking, I would recommend parking in the lot next to the Pub since you have to enter through the rear entrance. Inside seemed dark and clubby, but it was a nice night and the patio seemed nice so I choose to eat outside. The patio is nicely spaced out, decorated with a large water feature and tomato plants all over; a nice casual ambience. The guests on the patio included a couple of families and some couple, both young and old. The menu is upgraded classics, nothing fancy, but very large portions for a very reasonable price. Since I was hungry after a day in the white water I ordered 2 items from the appetizer section (divided into Pub Fare and Small Plates). Service was good, but the kitchen was clearly a bit overwhelmed as my food took well over a 1/2 hour. I did notice that food was steadily coming out to the tables who had ordered before me. I will say that once the food came out it was well worth the wait. The Lobster Mac and Cheese was a heaping helping of perfectly cooked al dente corkscrew pasta in a creamy smooth cheese sauce with plenty of lobster meat throughout. The Fish and Chips had 3 generous portions of white fish fried in a crispy Panko breading sided with plenty of thin cut fries. A really well prepared example of fish and chips. I ended up taking about half of the food I ordered with me home, since the portions were much larger than I had expected. The prices were exceptional $10 for the Mac and Cheese and $12 for the Fish and Chips. I was very impressed with the Presidents Pub, great food, generous portions and a nice casual atmosphere led to a great meal to end a mini vacation. I would be at the Presidents Pub if I lived in the area. Highly recommended. read more

Stopped here on a Thursday night with a party of three. We were seated promptly with pleasant young man. The waitress was just as pleasant and gave great details about different food selections. I ordered the wings with a garlic parmesan sauce. They came out hot and crispy. I could have went for a bit more sauce and more of a garlic taste. Maybe they are for the non garlic loving individual. The sauce did seem to be made from scratch. Either way, I would get them again trying a different sauce. We will definitely return to try other amenities. read more

WOW- how did I not know this was here for so long. This place is called a pub, but the food is NOT pub food. This place had HIGH END food and a great atmosphere and great service. My son had the bistecca and it cut like butter- temp on point. My daughter in law had the lobster ravioli and lovedddd it. Even though they didn't have a vegetarian meal, I had the grilled romaine and it was superb. The service was great! The atmosphere was great. The only thing I would suggest is check the number on Google. There is never an answer, so we thought it was out of business. I'd have been going there for about a year if the phone number was correct or if someone answered. Just goes to voicemail and the "mailbox" is full. read more

We have been to Washington a million times and always find our way to Liberty Pole Spirits. But this time my wife found this place. We decided to get dinner in person. Something we seldom do. Our waitress was amazing. She told us the specials, provided us more than we bargained. Wife wanted cider and was able to rate a couple before she chose one. She said the owner makes it. She said he's adding another restaurant down the road. Below it will have a winery and cidery called Forbidden Cellars. He just got his license recently. I literally just moved in down street and I'm disappointed that it took me so LONG to eat here! We had a Friday night date night after I got off of work and so glad he chose this place. Our waitress was phenomenal, so attentive and patient with us because we had the hardest time narrowing down what we wanted because it ALL looked so good!! We finally decided to get the pulled pork nachos as an appetizer, it was out of this world. The chips we so sturdy and delicious. The pulled pork was flavorful. And the toppings sent it over the edge. I got the lobster Mac and cheese, it's considered a small plate but I was SO full after finishing it. It was flavorful, filling and fantastic. Had a wonderful dining experience here with a large group. I was impressed with the creativity on the drink menu. There were a lot of unique cocktails with some unexpected ingredients. I tried two different ones (one had lavender) and one was a peanut butter cup martini. This is one of those rare places where almost everyone in our party raved about their food. Favorites were a kale salad and an ahi tuna dish. The only thing that didn't measure up was a scallop dish. It wasn't even that it was bad, it was just ok and seemingly not on par with the quality and flavor of all the other dishes. Service was attentive but not in your face. So the people eating at the tables were surrounded. I think college kids are their bread and butter but it sucks for diners. Our waitress was great. Very attentive and sweet. Food was just ok. All 3 of us in my party agreed that the food was mediocre. I probably won't be back anytime soon. Just not a great dining experience. They should just be a bar with tables and bar food then you wouldn't have such high expectations. Underwhelming. Back to Union Grill for me. read more

This place's food is beyond Amazing! They have live music on some nights. They have a phenomenal outdoor seating area with a waterfall and flowers. The menu is bomb. Most people in our area go to union grill restaurant which is hit or miss for us . Presidents pub has always been spot on every single time we've been here! In my opinion, President pub is 10 stars and union grill is seven. You won't be sorry if you give this place a try. Thursday nights is college night. Stopped here on a mid day trip in Washington! Saw it hiding out on one of the main drags close to Washington & Jefferson college. This was our first time here and most certainly won't be the last. They have a modern menu, cool tavern vibe & lots of events and live bands on the calendar. A nice touch to downtown Wash PA! We started with the kale Brussels sprouts salad with blue cheese - we added steak on top. Well the steak was just impressive- perfectly done and tender melt in your mouth on the inside. You never know what kind of steak will be added atop a salad, but this was a quality cut done right. We weren't in the mood for a full dinner, so this was enough to share.
