I am a customer for life. This place is awesome! I am the biggest wimp when it comes to waxing, that I literally have to talk myself into coming every single time. I am always pleasantly surprised when I leave because these ladies are true professionals. Always clean, thorough, and super friendly. It's painful I'm not going to lie, but it has been the least amount of pain out of any other place I have been to because they are so thorough and fast. In and out within 15 minutes and prettier then ever. I was waxed by Nikki today, and she was sooo awesome! She made me feel comfortable and was sympathetic to my low pain tolerance. I deleted my prior post it was offensive to one Yelp friend of mine so here is the more G rated version... This place is not for the modest. Frequent Brazilian devotees may know what to expect but even after telling them I was a newbie, there was zero explanation or warning as to what they were planning on doing. I think I would have been happier had they given me a tutorial as it went a bit beyond my comfort level. It was not so much painful as uncomfortable. Well friends, I went back at 6 weeks and 3 days for another round of waxing. It wasn't any better than the first go around. In fact it was worse. Nothing makes waxing less appealing than walking out of the salon with stubble. Of course the esthetican claimed *after* she waxed and left a ton of stubble that this is "normal" because I wasn't finished with my growth cycles. I call bullshit. SIX AND A HALF WEEKS, fellow yelpers. That is how long it had been since my last wax. And the stubble she left was 1/4 inch long. So basically she just sucked. Or did a crappy wax job. Or both. Don't waste your money or pain. Go somewhere that will do it right the first time...and the second time...everytime. read more

I have been to quite a few of the Pretty Kitty locations- by far Tustin is my favorite! Like most girls I don't enjoy getting waxed, but accept that it's so unbelievably necessary and a fact of life! This is all the more reason a pleasurable experience is so critical. Wax Technician: Katie Adame! I refuse to see anyone else. She's absolutely amazing. She gets the job done extremely fast, it's virtually painless, and she's quite pleasant. No hair left behind. :-) She talks some making her super friendly, but never overboard. She ALWAYS squeezes me in even when she's completely booked- which is almost always. She's great. Product: Their wax is as smooth as SILK. I was so impressed that I asked Katie why no other wax feels as smooth as theirs, turns out it's recipe is owned by Pretty Kitty! What ever it's made of helps tremendously with making the experience as tolerable as possible. Price: Their prices are in line with the rest of the market. Cleanliness: It's spotless and they DO NOT DOUBLE DIP. A new stick is used with every application! AMEN- if any shop double dips, run for the hills! Location and Parking: They're located in Old Town Tustin, super cute area, but in a strip mall...so parking can be a bit challenging at times. Overall my experiences here have been top notch. Was in the area and am still so happy that the Pretty Kitty is up here in OC that I felt inclined to try the Tustin location (just for the novelty of it, it's not terribly close to my house). First, I had no idea how quaint downtown Tustin is - the PK is nestled between a cafe and a lingerie store, so I'm thinking that's prime real estate for an establishment of its nature. It looks tucked away from the outside, but once you step into the lobby, it's nice and large. I think this is something I have to get accustomed to after frequenting the original location for so long. It was the Saturday after Thanksgiving and I'd made an appointment a few days earlier. I was greeted by Priscilla, who I'd previously reviewed at the Laguna Hills location. I guess she splits her time between the two. It was nice to see a familiar face and pair of hands, although I was a little bummed not to see how other next-gen PK waxers are fairing. It was great as before, Priscilla is darling and thorough... what more could I ask for? Make sure you tell them if it's your first time and the appointment setter will give you advice on how to prepare. Also, if you've been waxed at another PK location or other waxer you can always let them know how your skin reacts and there's different topical solutions they can apply at the salon or a you can at home (PFB, tea tree oil, hydrocortisone, etc). And make sure you buy a brush to scrub your kitty! read more

Well... I have been thinking about getting a Brazilian wax for a long time but it was hard for me to commit because I thought it was awkward. I am so glad I found the pretty kitty and making an appointment. I actually got referred to this place by my mom. When I walked in the waiting room is very clean and open. The staff is not only super professional but also friendly and have such a great welcoming personality. I ended up getting Sage. I have been to this location multiple times for Brazilian waxing and all of the ladies here are great! It is painful to get waxed especially in a sensitive area, but the ladies take care of you and make it as painless as they can. I found another place that does waxing closer to home (EWC) so I decided to try it out yesterday. HUGE MISTAKE. I have never experienced so much pain with a wax in my life. Today my "area" feels like it was in a fight and got punched! I am so sore. I will never go back to EWC (See my review of them for the whole story). I finally did it! I got the Brazilian! I had noticed this salon before because I visit the Tustin Brew Co often (right next door) and could tell it had a good vibe, and then seeing Tamra from Real Housewives get one done in RSM, I knew I had to try "the pretty kitty". The ladies were very friendly and the salon very clean. I was waxed by Johanna, and she was very sweet and walked me through the process. She asked me if I was OK, when she could tell some spots were extra sensitive. Because this was my first time, it did hurt, but it was not scary and if anything it was FAST. I think I was out of there in 20 minutes. I would recommend this salon and the pretty kitty company to my friends/family. I will most definitely become a regular because waxing is a better alternative to shaving any day. read more

went in with a friend to use a groupon/living social/whatever coupon. 2 waxes for the price of 1 basically. review is on the full brazilian (aka everything off!). i believe the normal price is $55. pros: - PAINLESS. i was amazed. - kayden (sp?) was VERY professional and courteous even though my friend and i ran late for our appointments. she was affable, knowledgeable, and clearly knew what she was doing. - decor/ambiance: charmingly adorable. everything was pink and precious. definitely a girly girl kind of place. cute couches to sit and wait on, plenty of magz to peruse while you wait, and lil classy cooler of ice water to whet your dry throat. - ingrowns begone! kayden recommended using a soft brush (which i bought for $6), and she even gave us a sample of PFB vanish. cons: - i wasnt happy with my wax! i dont know if i rushed her, or whatever, but it wasnt a clean wax. admittedly it was hard getting a clean wax along my bikini line since i shaved, but im talking about areas where i hadnt shaved at all. i went home to feel stubble. :( bummer! this alone makes me not want to come back. i can take a painful wax as long as its done well. - since i dont live in the area, its bit of a trek for me to come get waxed here. id rather go to my local waxer. would i come back? probably not. read more

I visited for the first time today to get a Brazilian wax. This was my first time doing anything like this. I was terrified but I decided to challenge myself, figuring if it was awful, Tustin Brewing Company is next door. Jillian took great care of me, explaining what she was doing while working as quickly as possible. It was painful but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be (taking an ibuprofen an hour before my appointment seemed to help). She was done in 15 minutes, gave me some tea tree and grape seed oil to clean off any extra wax and I left feeling great! I'll definitely be back in 6 weeks. read more

UPDATE: due to lots of wind in the area, there was a major traffic jam on the freeway which caused them to be late to open. I received a phone call with an apology. I finally made an appointment to get their famous Brazilian! I had an appointment for 10:00 am, made about a week ago, which they called to confirm the night before. It says on their website to arrive early so you don't loose your appointment so I got to the salon at about 9:45. They technically open at 10 so when there was no one there right when I arrived I just figured they were finishing opening up. By 10:15, there was still no sign of anyone, all doors locked, lights off etc. Not sure what happened, but I left after waiting for 30 minutes. Very disappointed read more

I just moved out here and my regular waxer is far away. I was looking for a professional affordable place. Did a yelp search and found this place. Let's review. Pros: Within walking distance of my home. It's pink! I love pink! Soft wax. Friendly staff. Cons: I was a walk in while Abby was friendly, my first impression of the manager Lindsey wasn't great. Abby was looking at who could squeeze me in and when Abby asked Lindsey if she could do it and her response was " I'm going to have too." then I was asked to wait. No big deal. As I was waiting two men walked in and spoke to Abby about Chase bank and who did the owner use. kinda of weird. After waiting about 5 minutes Lindsey called me back. The room was well cleaned. I loved the concept of PK.. But the done in 15 minutes thing is a Fail. I get it but who's to say everyone's hair removal process is the same. I felt rushed when we got to like 11 minutes. & when we were done i saw hairs left here n there that were long enough to be removed Ummm ok! But now two weeks later this uneven look on my Kitty is not the business. Idk if going back is an option. The after affects are worse than the actual waxing process. Sage although left handed was just as a great as any other right handed aesthetician but she was conscious enough to give me a heads up as it does change the experience slightly. Waxing is just something that is never going to be super comfortable, but if you have to do it, this is the absolute best way! it's quick and easy... before you can say "ouch" the waxing session is over! I love this place... so much so that I hope to work here once I'm state board certified in esthetics. The review applies to every Pretty Kitty store I've been to - Henderson, Las Vegas, and Tustin. I discovered this store when it opened in Henderson, NV over by Green Valley Ranch. I met the store owner and she made me feel so at home as soon as I walked in and even shared her wonderful story as to how she started the business in San Diego. Not only was I impressed with how FAST they are, but in my previous experiences with other boutiques, the quality of the wax was AMAZING! I always feel so refreshed, clean and pretty when I leave there! I ALWAYS recommend making an appointment, but in case you have an emergency, they tried really hard to see if an accomodation could be made for me on one such occasion, and fortunately I got lucky`. I then started going to the Summerlin location once that opened on Flamingo in Vegas and met the team. Although they were new to the store, I could see that their training and etiquette were purrfectly consistent with the other store. The feeling of familiarity is what kept me coming back. I can tell that this means so much to the owner and management team. I am now in Southern California and was SO EXCITED to see that more stores were open in Orange County. The staff at the Tustin store are so sweet and I could tell that the same awesome training has been applied to them as well! The store looks just like the ones in Vegas, so it was like a slice of home! I am so happy for the owner is doing well with more stores and I wish her all the best with her future stores/business.
