I can't always make it to the Saturday markets so having another option on the weekend is just the best. Also, the hours are later than most other markets - open 'til 3PM woohoo! The Schoolyard Market is located at Hope & Main and there is a municipal lot available for parking right across the street. It's practically right on the East Bay Bike Path so you can ride your bike too, if you feel so inclined. The vendors offer a mix of veggies, candies and chocolates, packaged foods (all local, duh!), prepared foods (come hungry, leave full!), gift items and there is even a compost stand for bringing in your veggie scraps to be turned back into the lovely mother Earth. A live band rounds things out to make a perfect Sunday outing and the cherry on top is the sign welcoming your furry friends on leashes.

Farm stand is always full with veggies and flowers (depending on season). You can't go wrong with their corn, it's the best. I love stopping by in early spring when they put all their hanging baskets and flowers out. They offered horse drawn rides, tractor rides, face painting, story time with mother goose & a corn maze (which was not much of a maze). It is really perfect for kids 2-10. The store offers a selection of breads, pies, jams and produce. Although there were dogs inside, we were told by employees to put our dog back in the car as they stated there was a free roaming farm dog on the premise. There were no signs in the parking lot stating that dogs were not allowed nor was there a sign stating there was a dog free on the premise. As we were a couple feet away from my car to put my dog back inside, a vicious and unleashed German Shepard dog charged at my dog and me and began attacking her. The dog did not respond to the employees calling its name. Thankfully I protected my dog and she was not seriously injured as far as I can tell. I had to shield my dog from the German Shepard that continuously tried to get at her. I am seriously disheartened and upset with how this manner was handled. Small children and their families come to this orchard. This German Shepard should have at the very least been leashed to protect the visitors. I write this review to caution others with small children, friendly dogs, and even services dogs as this is not a safe or welcoming environment.

So I looked online and googled fruit arrangements near my sister's workplace in Central Falls, RI and Delectable Edibles came up. Other big chain businesses came up too but I wanted to find something local and different and that is why I chose DE. I also looked them up on Facebook and sent them a message after one attempt of calling and getting no answer. I didn't leave a message but not long after I got a phone call from Renee and was glad to hear that she could whip up an arrangement and deliver it to my sister before she left work today. So, the process was quick, easy and it was nice speaking with Renee and going over some options. I was able to pay over the phone and within a few hours I received a really nice message from the birthday girl herself! She said the dark chocolate covered strawberries were delicious, she shared fruit with her co-workers and they enjoyed them as well! I told her where I ordered the bouquet from and she said she could tell that it was local because it tasted so good and fresh and was surprised since usually fruit bouquets do not have much flavor to them.
