I had to stop by and pick up some more of their prepared foods while I'm in town visiting my parents. Today I tried the crab cakes, a giant mushroom stuffed with seafood, lobster stuffed shrimp, and some pork egg rolls. Yawza!!! OH MY! Absolutely delicious! I was absolutely impressed by the crab cakes. They had plenty of crab meat and were delicious! These are the best crab cakes I ever had! Absolutely delicious! I felt the same way about the lobster stuffed shrimp, pork egg rolls, and the giant seafood stuffed mushroom!! They are all top of the line and the best I've ever had! I also got some more of Tom's market stuffies to take home with me because they are so out of this world good! YUM!! Just a big olde YUM!!! I think I'm in love with Toms Market prepared foods! i was very upset going into Tom's in Tiverton yesterday July 3,2025. There was only ONE poor girl working both the deli and the cooked food.. 18 people waiting there she asked the supervisor for someone to come help her (there was another girl there but he had her helping him with something else)) so no he wouldn't get her any help!! How rude!! I saw atleast 6 people leave because they got sick of waiting!! Sorry but unless the store was on fire the customer comes FIRST!! He could have actually helped out as well but nope!! Tom's Catering hit a home run out of the park this past weekend. The food, the service, accent florals and the PRESENTATION were awesome!!! Super professional staff of servers and talented on site chef served our daughter's Bridal Luncheon at the Bristol Yacht club to group of 50. Wow wow wow! Everyone is still talking about it. The food was delicious and spot on with their suggested menu based on dietary preferences of some. Tom's catering and crew were absolutely the nicest to work with beginning with my planner, Alex, to the staff of four at the event. Quietly and diligently they performed as seasoned professionals. My husband and I have been going to Tom's in Warren for our meats and deli meats for well over 10 years. They have always been the best butcher around. Unfortunately I can not say that any longer. If I wanted prepackaged meats We would go to Shop and Shop. When you go to the Butcher and you cannot get the cut of steak that you require or fresh ground hamburger it is no longer a butcher. My main review is below, and it is still accurate and more informative than this follow-up review. I suggest you read it before you read this follow-up, which is just about their prices. Unfortunately, Yelp won't let members edit their reviews after a certain amount of time, which is what they used to do. As an example of Tom's Market's ridiculous price increases, I offer their bacon-cheddar potato skins. On thin slices of potato skin, they sprinkle a little cheddar cheese and a little crumbled bacon, and then they bake them on a greased baking sheet. (Before the price went up, I bought a lot of them, so my estimates are accurate. On several occasions, I weighed them.) The potato skins started out being 50 cents each some years ago, and then they went to 99 cents, and in November they went to $1.99. Now, these potato skins weigh anywhere from 3/4 ounce to 1-3/4 ounces, with most of them averaging perhaps 1-1/4 ounces (including the cheese and bacon). The amount of cheddar cheese on them is probably no more than 1/4 ounce, perhaps 1/3 ounce. And the bacon is probably no more than a small fraction of an ounce, perhaps 1/8 ounce. What this means is that four skins, weighing about 5 ounces, now cost about $8. That is approximately $25.50 a pound, which makes the potato skins one of the most expensive items that Tom's Market sells in their deli section, even though they are 80% to 90% potato, with vegetable oil being the second ingredient. That's a pretty outrageous price. read more

Tom's Market is awesome, I mean, amazing. I seriously loathe Whole Foods in every way, shape or form. Not only did they try to kill me with their salmonella-ridden chicken one time, but they make a killing off of people who wear "I shop at Whole Foods" as some kind of upper-class yuppie jerk badge. Tom's is cool. "You wanna buy some cheese? Why don't you try a few samples first? Oh hey, try some of this tuna salad too, it's awesome. Oh and the coleslaw? Let me get some of that for you too. Oh and what did you want to cook for dinner? Cool, let me show you all the things that'll make that dinner top notch, cause, you know, we're best friends now." Also, they have all the awesome stuff from the local farmers markets that I always buy, even in the winter. They've got all kinds of fun cheeses (they have bite-size gourmet cheeses, they are aaa-mazing), fresh meats, the most amazing deli roast beef I've ever tasted in my damn life, and they've even got a Venda Ravioli freezer. I mean, c'mon. The best part? I find it to be totally affordable. Definitely cheaper than Whole Foods, and in my opinion I actually thought it was cheaper than Stop & Shop too. Sure you could spend a fortune if you tried, but overall I was pretty shocked that the quality vs. price. That's just my experience, but I shop here all the time now and don't think I'll be looking back anytime soon. read more

I've been shopping here for quite a long time. While they have always, for the most part been a bit pricey compared to other stores, they normally have some weekly specials that are pretty reasonable. Typical sale on certain items to draw you in. A smart system that more than pays dividends as most customers will buy several other items. Plenty of ready made items that are very good. In addition I prefer to spend my money at the "small local business." Unfortunately, however, since this current COVID-19 pandemic the weekly specials/sale items have been "suspended." Not only have they suspended their specials, all their products are bring offered at what I would call maxed out prices, especially all of their meats. Steaks and poultry are being sold, in some cases nearly twice the price per pound that other stores are selling them at. Their website claims the sales are suspended due to vendor and supply issues. Curious why other stores are still selling their products for far less and often still at "sale prices." Im sorry, but my only logical conclusion is that they are cleary taking advantage of the current chaotic climate from this pandemic. Pretty sad. My last purchase here was $190. This was a typical shopping trip for me that I would estimate would have normally cost about $140. Suffice to say, I'm ALL DONE shopping here. In times like this to take advantage of your customers is disgraceful. I'll go back to the big box stores or other local markets that are satisfied with increased sales and not greed. Came here with a friend that lives nearby.... I was impressed with the variety of items available in this neighborhood style market (reminds me of a Dave's Market or Whole Foods). It was well organized and very clean inside and out. The pricing is a tad higher than the large supermarkets, but the quality definitely looks better. They have dedicated seafood counters, deli counters and butcher shop along with the usual prepackaged selections in the cases. The amount of ready-made food was impressive and had a good variety, making it a great place to grab and go for sandwiches, pasta dishes, rotisserie chickens, etc. They even have a cooler dedicated to Venda Ravioli products (pink vodka sauce, marinara, gnocchi, raviolis, etc.) I would certainly shop here again if in the area. read more

I can not say enough positive things about the amazing job Tom's Market Catering did at my daughter's wedding. We had a change of venue three days before the wedding and they didn't miss a beat. Alex came to our house (new venue) to see the new set up and reassured us that it would be a perfect event. She was kind, professional and supportive. When we left for the wedding there were tables and chairs under a tent and when we got back she had transformed our yard into a beautifully decorated wedding venue. The food was delicious and served hot by an exceptional staff. I had many guests remark on the incredible service and delicious food. At the end of the night everything was cleaned up and all trash was removed. They went above and beyond to make this event extraordinary and we are so appreciative!!! read more

A luncheon function I recently attended was catered by Tom's Market Catering division. The food was spectacular, fresh, tasty, and well-presented. Wood Grilled Seasonal Vegetables, an Orzo Pasta Salad and a Bacon Potato Salad were offered to accompany a delicious sliced oven-roasted turkey breast and a sliced sirloin strip beef. Fresh soft rolls were perfect to make a great sandwich. Numerous spreads were there to please every palate along with a platter of fresh fruits and an array of large soft, chewy cookies. They have super fresh produce, wonderful fine meats and a fantastic prepared foods section. I've enjoyed many lunches to go from Tom's and continue to go back again and again. I know there are a lot of good reviews. They've got a sticker on the door that proclaims "Yelp Loves Us". I'll tell you why I won't do business with them anymore. There is this thing called "tare". It is the weight of your container. They put it in the scale before they weigh your food. I got sea scallops and they did not enter the tare and I paid $20 plus a pound for a container. The next time I got shucked clams and paid $10 a pound for the container. So on. It's the equivalent of leaving your thumb on the scale. It's an old butcher's trick to get more of your money. Intentional or not.... You are getting screwed! Their prices are high enough. Check the scales where it says "tare" and see if they put in the weight of the container. I watch the butchers and meat slicers, and I tell you what. Look at Shaws. The containers are on the counter marked 1, 2, 3. The server enters the number and the weight reads where it says tare. You don't pay for it as product. Another thing I don't get is the prices. Everything costs more. $9 a pound for turkey and gravy. Processed rubbery turkey and globby gravy. Not home made. Not at all. You've got salmon for $20 a pound, but it's Norwegian farm raised salmon, the tag says. They do that with the fish. You're not getting anything more! Just a name on a tag! It's like paying for food with their name on it thinking it's made there. Marketing, that's all it is. Just a note today June 25, whole foods got fined $800,000 in California for doing just that. Thought I found a local place that I could just run to instead of heading into Providence (Wholefoods) to get some quality meats. I was wrong. Purchased 14$ worth of center cut pork chops yesterday. Opened them up today to get them all marinated so I could throw them on the grill. First the coloring was just not right but thought maybe it was the lighting or my eyes. Opened up the package and low and behold they had an awful smell. I knew they were bad and ended up throwing them out. There goes 14$ in the trash. But Think some of the deli hangs in case too long and I've been stung a couple of times by the sale meats- have had to throw out. I love Tom's for the convenience. It's so much easier to run in here for a few items than a large grocery store and closer to my house too. The prices here are higher than your average large chain, no doubt. I can't begin to tell you how many times I have run in here for a salad or sandwich for lunch. It's a small store but the selection is enough for my needs most days. The prices are higher than the big chains but it's usually worth it. The meats are very good. I read in other reviews that the meats and deli and prepared food are a hit or miss and will look out more carefully in the future. The store's prepared food is usually delicious and convenient to get when you're in a pinch for a meal. I read they repurpose soon to be expired meats. Yikes. Will have to observe in the future. The employees do not seem happy to work there at all. But there is an individual who has to be singled out for her supremely excellent customer service and cheery disposition. She's been there for a while. She is usually in the back but comes out to seemingly take charge in the cheese area and she is a real down to earth sweetheart of a gal! So helpful and always positive! Before masks, she always had a vast grin on her face from ear to ear! No grumbles or complaining from her! When I encounter her, I always feel my faith in humanity is restored. I like this place, especially since there is free coffee for shoppers and the parking lot is never crowded. There is a small and secluded sit-down area near the registers (which could use a cosmetic reconstruction, by the way). Tom's has an excellent variety of food, and features many locally made products, which are marked on the shelf as such. It's in a convenient spot nestled right at the top of Warren before entering Bristol, so I've made this a routine destination on Warren/Bristol driving days. read more

Tom's market is irresponsible and shouldn't be selling meat. I bought ribs there and noticed when I got home that they had expired. I called and manager apologized and asked us to come in for an exchange. I went back and got a new pack of ribs and package states that they were packed that day. Unfortunately they were the same old ribs with a new sticker. The meat was so bad that my entire kitchen smelled awful. I have never experienced this before and could not believe how terrible the smell was. I called back and manager said they don't get new meats until the next day so the meat was "labeled incorrectly". I believe they knew what they were doing and trying to sell bad meat rather than throw it away and lose profit. Totally irresponsible and careless with no thought of consumer safety. I never returned for my refund and nobody ever got back to me. I will never buy anything from any toms market location and I am sure to spread the word so nobody I care about risks getting food poisoning or taken advantage of. read more
