For those of you who are not yet aware, the lady who started Puppy Cut Hut, Mandi, has left her buiness and has moved to Rhode Island. We were made aware of this, when trying to book our dogs regular grooming appointment. Ginger had been on Mandi's regular calendar for the past three years, but missed her latest grooming due to a paw injury. When I texted Mandi's cell number to set the next appointment (our standard form of communication), I was told by Madi's replacement, that the grooming schedule was full, and that I should look for a new groomer as her "spot" had been taken. Needless to say, this left my wife & I completely shocked! As anyone reading this review understands, the relationship between the groomer and the Family dog is a treasured one. I was a faithful customer for almost 4 years & the 1st person to review this business. I always recommended Mandi's services to everyone I know! Unfortunately she is gone...moved out of state in January 2013 The person who she left her wonderful business to doesnt even bother returning calls. I left her 3 detailed msgs in 3 weeks - nothing. I understand that she is probably really busy, but all she needed to do is call back & say - "sorry I am busy!". Thats all! I am a fair person & all I ask for is a little bit of common courtesy. I dont think thats too much to ask. This is not a way to do business regardless of how good she might be.(I guess I'll never find out) I find it VERY unprofessional & just plain rude. read more

Mandi arrived with her grooming van and provided stellar grooming service for our newly rescued boxer "Rocke". We were not sure how our boy would handle this experience and a little anxious. We were thrilled with his response to the bath, nail trim and pampering. Mandi is a pro!!!! The setup in the Van is awesome. Mandi is gentle and knowledgeable about animals- able to handle a strong breed dog like a boxer. A very specialy service---- Rocke tried to get back into the van as we were walking back into the house. Reasonable prices- and we did not have to take our severe dog-aggressive Rocke. read more

I Love Mandi! She shows up with a snazzy little motorhome, right to your doorstep. I think she is the only mobile pet grooming salon that does CATS too. I have a Persian and a Himalayan and they get their lion cuts every two months or so. For us it is great because one of our cats is truly car sick and by having her come to us we avoid the car ride. Her work is really great, she's an artist! You can tell her exactly how you want it and she gets it. I usually ask her to do 'the works' like cutting nails, ear cleaning, shampoo, furminator (if needed), and if you provide - she will also put on flea drops (if you think your pet needs it). read more

I love Mandy! She can handle my 121 Lb German Shepherd, Duke, with complete ease and returns him to us feeling like he's been washed and waxed! His fur is so smooth, sleek, and so clean. Plus he smells terrific! LOVE that shampoo you use on him! A big red bow around his neck makes him look like hes a shiny new present for his family. The blow-drying technique you use has him literally losting 10 lbs of fur! Mandy is always reliable and is on time, no issues, no drama. No surprises ever. You're the best, Mandy! This isn't woth a lot of my time so I will make it short. Mandy was good. DeGay was better but now that Mandy has sold her business to a totally unprofessional woman who has been grooming for 4 MONTHS ONLY it is not a company you would want to entrust your beloved pet to. This new person Lisa is so rude and unprofessional its scary. Mandy and DeGay have been grooming my baby since she was 9 weeks old and our rescue for the past 6 months. Mandi and her van has pulled up to my house twice. First, for Mario to get bathed and then for cousin Emma to get groomed. Mandi did a great job with both dogs. Mario is a scaredy-dog when it comes to getting bathed and she did a nice job cleaning him up and making his fur shiny. Emma, the Aussie cousin, came out of the van looking like she just had an Extreme Makeover. The clip job was fantastic - neat and even - and she smelled so nice! Mandy and DeGay are wonderful and do everything they can to accommodate their clients. They are more than quite busy, and one may have to get on a cancellation or wait list to become a regular, but they are well worth it. It's hard to find anyone as capable and talented as they are. I have been a customer for three years. I have always been happy with the service no matter who has been the owner. They arrive on time and my bischon Charlie is always happy to see them arrive. When he is done he looks wonderful. I would recommend this service, it is very nice to have a groomer come right to your door. Regular groomers have your dog all day and most of the time they are locked in a cage for most of the day, Charlie would come home nervous and stresses out. With the puppy cut hut he is in and out in a little over an hour!!! read more

We have been customers of Mandy for years. She was awesome. Then our dog got sick and we couldn't do our regular appt. I texted (her preference for scheduling) and got a reply saying there is a waiting list and no openings until after April!!! It just didn't sound like Mandy. Then I just found out that she is gone! She sold her business. So whoever she sold it to is not the wonderful Mandy that we have used. I don't know who took it over, but no way to run a business! Bummer Mandy is gone! We had a very bad experience with Mandi and would not recommend her. Anyone who uses her should be aware that she mixes ALCOH(OL into the cream rinse in order to dry the dogs' hair faster. Not only is it deceitful, but it is horrible for the dog's skin and coat. We had to take both of our puppies right to the vet right after they were groomed, where they were rebathed and dried without Mandi's alcohol spray tricks. BEWARE. She cares more about cramming in as many dogs as possible and drying them as fast as possible than she caqres about their health - so do not let her fool you with her snazzy van and her selective approach to accepting clients. Mandi is gone and it's sad that all of her work to make the PUPPY CUT HUT a top rated service has gone down hill! My 2 dogs who have been on service with Mandi for years are now de-listed and I am told on an "as available" wait list. New owner so busy guess she can pick and choose which of Mandi's long time clients to keep and dump. Imagine all the referrals I've made over the years are also gone? Maybe they made the grade? I see other reviewers have also commented on the down hill slide of the new owner and operator. Mandi I hope you are not reading Yelp because you would be disappointed. We pay top dollar for the service; for the convenience of home service, the quality grooming and the care that Mandi used to give my pets! She treated them special; too bad that's not being carried forward. Good luck to the new Puppy Cut Hut! Hopefully, you will continue to be too busy and can afford the luxury to turn down business. I moved to Sausalito and got tired of driving all the way to San Ramon to my groomers of ten years. I am extremely particular! I found Mandi and The Puppy Cut Hut and I could not be happier! She is great. Very knowledgable, very kind and does a great job. I have two Scottish Terriers and they become a total disaster after a few months but she makes them look great. I love that cute Puppy Cut Hut mobile thing she drives -- it looks great in my driveway and all the neighbors check it out. In fact, it's here right now as I type this and my neighbor is also going to get his two French Bulldogs bathed. I highly recommend The Puppy Cut Hut! read more

I used Puppy Cut Hut for the first time today. While they did a nice job grooming, I was shocked at the cost! They definitely overcharge for their services. When I questioned the cost, D'Gaye was very defensive and told me how hard she worked and that I was paying for not having to drive my dogs somewhere and pick them up. For a company that has no overhead, the prices should be at least competitive, if not better than the competitors in town. I ended up paying nearly $100 an hour for 2 dogs! I will not be using them again, and suggest paying less and driving your dogs to the groomer yourself read more

My 70pnd. dog got sprayed by a skunk and I was in desperate need of someone to de-skunk her. I needed a mobile groomer because my dog isn't dog friendly and I can't just drop my dog off at a groomer. Mandi scheduled me at her earliest convenience and met me at my work in San Rafael. She took Kira and an hour later I got back a dog smelling like flowers. I was so happy that I booked her that coming Monday to groom my Mothers 14 year old shitzu-poodle. I have used Mandi since the first 2 times and have recommended her to family and friends. Lisa was great! She replied right away to my email and followed up via phone. She was prompt and did a great job cleaning up our 14 year old lab/Sheppard/husky mix - he is too old to travel so this was a great service!! And he looks great!! read more
