My daughter and I went into store and was going to purchase a puppy that day. (The lady working did not know this.) We were "greeted" with such an unfriendly look, no asking if needed help, then stated when we wanted to see the puppy it was told we could not, that only serious buyers, need an appointment, that the dog was on medication...and all this was done in the most rude tone by this lady. Even my young daughter said something to me. You just lost a customer and about $4k due to this worker. I will never purchase a dog there as if this is how you treat a customer I can just imagine how you treat your animals. If owner would like to know who was on shift it was this past Saturday. read more

The puppy had giardia when we got her and was on a lot of antibiotics, our vet said way to much. It took several vet visits and cost $767 to clear it up. The Puppy Place owner Shelia refused to cover any of it. We love our puppy but plan on adding another $700-$800 to your puppy budget. I talked to most of the employees and the consensus was thatthat almost all of them have giardia when they come in from the breeder. read more

Unfortunately, like other reviewers here, I was sold a sick puppy. The day I scheduled a play date with my Yorkie, I noticed he had been hacking/coughing like something was stuck in his throat. I asked two employees about it, and they both separately and casually attributed it to "overstimulation." In retrospect, I wonder if that's a response they rehearse if a customer questions a puppy's wellbeing. As a first-time pet owner, I naively trusted them and brought him home the same day. I've had him for just two days, and his hacking/cough has persisted. I had to bring him to a local emergency vet as the Stafford Vet Center recommended in the Puppy Palace's puppy warranty is one, far away, and two, couldn't see him in an appropriate time frame. Time was of the essence as the Puppy Palace's warranty becomes void if a vet doesn't check your dog within seven business days. It turns out he has infectious tracheobronchitis and pneumonia. The vet results show that he was indeed sick while in Puppy Palace's care, although the Puppy Palace's health record indicated that he was healthy. This discrepancy is not only concerning for my puppy but also raises the alarm for the potential risk to other puppies in their care. Based on the information I received from the vet, other puppies in their care are likely infected. Based on this experience, I would not recommend getting a pet from the Puppy Palace. I've submitted a claim on their website for this incredible inconvenience and hope to receive a response and reimbursement for my costly vet visit sooner rather than later. read more

Dogs are beautiful but that is all that it has going for it. I actually feel bad for them. When we went the dogs were laying in their own filth. No one was taking care of them. There was no paper layer on top of the wire floor. The dogs had it all shredded to bits. I had to tap on a window to get one to stop eating its poop. I would have taken multiple home that day just to rescue them but for 3000.00 a dog, it's a bit much. I hope the place can rectify their problems. read more

When I went in and asked where the puppies came from, I was told places that are approved by the USDA. When i asked what that meant, the employee had no idea and referred me to a sign. The sign provided vague concepts which sounded nice but meant little. This is what FDA approved means. ------ An estimated 167,388 breeding dogs are currently living in USDA (United States Department of Agriculture)-licensed commercial facilities for breeding purposes this very moment.* A USDA license = a puppy wholesale license. Any dog breeder who wishes to sell to a pet store or to consumers over the Internet with five or more breeding females must be licensed with the USDA. The USDA regulates these facilities according to the Animal Welfare Act (AWA), the Minimal Standards of Care at breeding facilities: Over 2 million puppies are bred in mills each year. There is no limit to the number of dogs on the premises. A puppy mill could have hundreds or thousands of dogs. There is no requirement on the number of staff that must be available to care for the dogs. Dogs may be kept in stacked cages. Mesh or wire flooring is allowed. Dogs may be forced to relieve themselves in their cages. Dogs may be confined in spaces only six inches larger than their bodies, not including the tail. A dog may be caged 24 hours a day for his or her entire life, only removed from the cage to be bred. There is no exercise requirement if dogs are housed with other dogs and certain minimal size requirements are met for the dog's enclosure. Dogs can be housed indoors or out with minimal temperature regulation. Human interaction is not required. Breeding females at the first heat cycle and every heat cycle thereafter is permissible. Unwanted animals may be killed in a variety of ways or auctioned off. Many of the AWA's requirements are vague. The AWA leaves it up to the mill owners to determine what is "adequate". The USDA currently has an estimated 110 inspectors on staff to inspect all the facilities under its supervision, not just commercial dog breeders and brokers. There is no transparency to consumers or the public about the results of USDA inspections ------ The puppies at Puppy Palace were crying while in ridiculous clear plastic boxes, the floor was covered in paper which was wet and/soiled, the puppies were crying, barking or sleeping soundly while parents let their 3 year old pound on the window and the 12 year old employee who had the energy of someone who partied too much last night and was still hung over was busy texting. If you want an animal that you know is healthy and has not been abused while being sold, go somewhere else. read more

Sold us a puppy that has an ongoing issue with coughing. its spreading to our other dogs and they're giving us the runaround about compensating our vet bill. would not recommend because they sell unhealthy dogs. take your money elsewhere. read more

Hello everyone, so my experience with the puppy palace of Glastonbury was a good visit when I purchased Sammy my cockapoo back in October of 2021. The store had just opened in our area and I begged my husband to visit. My husband agreed because I had been begging him for a golden doodle and they had an all black one. It's so hard to find these dogs here in Ct most are states away and hard to get. I fell in love with the one I saw, as my husband walked around looking at other dogs!! Well he also fell in love with a dog named Sammy and begged me to just see him. Of course I agreed to take a look at him. As soon as the young lady brought him out Sammy ran into my husband's arms I knew that was that!!!! He looked at me with the saddest face and asked if we could have him?!?! Of Course I agreed!! See my husband is a vet and suffers from PTSD I knew this dog would change his world. So here we are taking Sammy home to the kids! Sammy brought so much joy to our home but, here we are a year later and unfortunately we had to put Sammy down in October of 2022 at only a year old. Sammy just one day started looking weak and losing weight. My husband was concerned and took him to the Vet. Unfortunately Sammy heart was just not growing right one side was way bigger than the other side. I contacted the puppy palace let them know what was going on. I provided them with all the information they needed to processes the claim of our loss. Per policy if the puppy is found to have something hereditary they would give another puppy or pay up to 50% of the medical bills. After calling and several emails on what was going on she basically told me because I did not get Sammy checked out 4 days after purchase (Wellness check) this contract was voided. I was so heartbroken because this was during covid time and I could not get Sammy into the vet till December (when I did he was healthy) and I had called and let them know this. They lady whom helped me with Sammy told me at the time that this was ok and new it was hard to get in any vet because of the no contact policies at the time. So here I am with all this medical bills and still owe them over $2,000 for Sammy still. I feel so heartbroken and dismissed by their company. I was so happy with the service when I 1st went and referred so many people to purchase their dog from there. I will never recommend them ever again to anyone!!! I feel they got their money and did not care what my husband and family our going through! Horrible just another transaction! read more

You would think if someone is interested in adopting a longtime friend and having to spend $3,000, (which seems to be the asking price for all of these puppies), that you'd be given more than 10 minutes to interact with your potential new family member. This was my first experience at the puppy palace and it was more than I expected. The facility is clean and minimalist in design. There's no high pressure sales tactic. I felt comfortable getting to know the adorable pug puppy I met with today. There are 4 large open pens for interacting with the puppy of your choosing. The puppy was also able to interact with other puppies that were being shown to others which is nice to see how one might interact with other animals. All of the puppies (approximately 6) that I witnessed in the open were observably in good health. I would recommend this place to anyone seeking a new puppy. read more

Overall we are very happy with puppy palace and would purchase another dog from them in the future. Only issue we had was the man who owns the shop was a bit rude. We had an issue with the price as well we had to fight to make sure we paid the correct amount. their system was down so we had to come back and be told it still wasn't up next day. They should have called us we drove a bit to get there. I had the most fun today. I needed to use up some time while I was waiting for my car to be worked on and I noticed the Puppy Palace which was right behind the Chick-fil-A in Glastonbury . The place is big and full of puppies of all different breeds. It was clean and had no dog smell at all. The girl working there was changing out all of the paper in the dogs cages. Boston, the young man that works there was very nice about letting me hold and play with different puppies and was able to answer all of my questions about their current weight and their adult weight. He said the weekends are very busy and they will sometimes adopt up to 10 dogs on a Saturday. This is not like a Petsmart where they sell dog food and lots of dog accessories. I only saw a few things for sale like leashes, harnesses and some dog cages. This is such a cool place and they really take good care of the animals. I would recommend going during the week when it's less crowded. read more

Buyer Beware!!!! I purchased a puppy that they told me was hypo allergenic. It was not, I had a horrible allergic reaction and returned the puppy within 16 hours. They took the puppy back and would not refund my money for any reason. These people are continuing to fight me even after they resold the dog within 48 hours. Terrible experience. Went in with genuine interest in purchasing a dog, and the nice man who greeted us (new employee) asked if we were here to play or purchase, so we said both and he asked for ID. We proceeded to try and provide it and then the owner/manager loudly and rudely said "No it's gonna be 20-30 minutes before you can play with any dogs, he's new (referring to the employee who told us we could play with a dog). We said no problem and asked if we could look around while we waited. He said yes so we began to look at the dogs in the glass boxes. We found that almost all of them had poop and pee everywhere in their cages, some without food, and many dogs had faces, paws, or bodies covered in poop. It is very clear that there is not nearly adequate care at this facility and I feel sad for the puppies stuck here. After about 20 minutes, I walked back over to the owner/manager at the fromt desk just to check if we were still in line, as he never actually had us sign in. He had someone in front of the desk signing papers. When I walked up he turned to look at me, so I just went to ask politely if we needed to sign in. He interrupts me mid-sentence and rudely shouts "Excuse me ma'am, ma'am, ma'am, ma'am, I'm with a customer" holding his hand up at me as if I'm a child, then turns around and ignores me. So I went back to my friend and we stood there for another 10 minutes patiently waiting. After over 30 minutes of being completely ignored and viewing how the employees handle and treat the puppies, as well as the very demeaning encounter with the manager, we were clear we did not feel comfortable spending our money here, and promptly left without so much as holding a dog. The cherry on top, there were four play pens in the store and 3-4 were empty the entire time we were there. Do not recommend or support this establishment. read more

this place lies to people over the phone. they told me dogs were allowed in the store, when we opened the door to enter they were very rude and obnoxious stopped us at the door to tell me dogs couldn't come in. when o asked why they told me dogs were allowed when i called his answer was leave please they are not allowed. he was extremely rude and obnoxious. really makess me wonder how they treat their animals!!! 0 stars should be a rating choice read more
