Beef: normally this would be my favorite back in the day but here... Absolutely no flavor. Quite surprised but I would not order again. Chicken Masala: decent flavor, probably my favorite out of all the oasties I got here. Moroccan lamb: decent flavor also. Chicken cordon bleu: not sure If I got a bad one but yea, hard pass. As a first generation from. British dad very happy to find this store. Not only does it have amazingly delicious pasties (we tried the Chicken Cordon Blue, Chicken Masala, and Beef traditional). All were delicious and got a Peaches and Cream dessert which was excellent too, should have asked to see if they could have warmed it up before we left. I've heard of this place and when in the area recently, I bought many Pastys to bring home and enjoy later on. The place is really just carry-out, they have fresh made, hot pastys to go, which they can sell, as well as frozen pastys to bring home. They also have a large selection of snacks directly from England. Service was helpful, the guy working the counter was descriptive and helped me with how the various pastys were made. Also, when walking in the amazing smells of all the workers in the back making food smelled incredible! I opted for some of nearly all their offerings of pastys. A couple of days later I made the chicken masala for lunch. I used their directions for baking, not the microwaving to get it ready to eat. They were spot on and the pasty came our perfectly warmed up and ready to eat. The crust was outstanding! None of it was dry or tastless, the whole thing was flaky, perfect, buttery, and tasty! The filling was very nice, though it had no flavors that resembled Indian or "masala" to me, so I'm not sure what they consider masala, but that's not a bad thing as the filling tasted great! Good pasty's but their pie's are sub par and their reheating instructions are absolutely horrible. I followed the instructions on the package and microwaved it from frozen for 2.5 minutes and it completely collapsed, became mush, and leaked everywhere. Maybe it wasn't baked? But there was zero indication this was or was not baked and there were clearly vent marks on the dough indicating it likely was since it says to vent in the unbaked instructions. read more

We have been here a few times. They have bake fresh pasties and frozen pasties to stock your freezer for later. During every trip, we had gotten freshly baked to eat right then and frozen ones for a later date. They have some seasonal flavors with some standard flavors. I haven't had one that I didn't like. Pure pasty is just so good. I would recommend getting one of the Indian inspired flavors of pasty because for some reason it just works really well also would recommend trying the traditional pasty. The pasty's are super heavy and they are also great for putting in the freezer and eating later. Why does every visit have to be so disappointing? Went in to get three pasties. Even though the tray with traditional had quite a few on it, they said they only had k e traditional. They said it would be 10 minutes to wait for another which we agreed to. They took one out of the freezer which was marginally okay. Then I hear the beeping of a microwave. They said if they hear it in an oven it gets dried out so it has to go in a microwave. $10 is too much for a microwave hot pocket. They said we could call ahead next time, but why can't they just have enough of their most popular item and less of the others that will just sit. They must have had 50 of them just sitting but no more traditional ones. This just sounds like poor planning to me. I also don't know why their employees have an attitude. They must train them to be like that because it is I usually that there is attitude every time, regardless of when you go. Honestly, it is easier and cheaper to make them at home. read more

They had a nice selection of around eight different pasties that are served hot and an even larger variety of frozen pasties. Since living in the United Kingdom, in early 2000 a pasty has been one of the things I've missed most. On a whim, I searched Yelp to see if maybe I could relive that feeling of having a warm pasty for lunch on a cold day. First of all the place is quaintly situated in a back alley parking area. It's kind of hard to find and the parking spots felt relatively smaller than any others in the area. But it was well advertised once you get to the parking area. As soon as I walked in the delicious aroma of pasties, hit my face and quickly took me back to my time in England. This is a no-frills place, no seating, nothing but pasty store. There are a few benches out front where you can eat your pasty after purchasing them inside. I got four pasties, which felt a little bit more expensive than they were when I was living in England. But the traditional pasty did not disappoint. The young man at the front counter pulled a fresh pasty out of the oven and put it inside a piece of aluminum foil into my bag. After getting out front and sitting down, my mouth was already salivating. Opening up the aluminum foil and taking my first bite of deliciousness was so satisfying. I would have to say it was well worth the 20+ year wait I'm not having a pasty, pure pasty. You have a new loyal customer anytime I'm in Virginia. So I randomly stumbled here as I'm visiting from NC, and this was a treat. I parked farther down the road, but seeing as this area has tight roads and small lots- be careful! When you walk in there's a small step down into the ordering and shelving areas, so be aware if it's busy-busy I'd assume you'd be a bit wary of waiting inside. However, my visit was perfectly fine roughly 5-6 people just lining up was a tad hard for ordering. My favorite was the broccoli cheddar! I also tried the Pork Jaeger and Lamb pasty as well; however the broccoli had the most distinct flavor without relying so much on the heavy crust to give it definition. The pork was filled well, but bland I'd say could have used something to brighten the meat a bit. With the same being said for the lamb- it wasn't remarkable just okay. The shelves have a variety of treats such as, jams, marmalades, a few candies but those I'd have to mention you can find at a world market if you have one nearby. A friend told us about this place and it did not disappoint! We were excited because there were vegan options (since we are lactose intolerant). You can order frozen ones ahead of time online or walk in to buy them. Love that they have some freshly baked ones ready for people to buy and enjoy right away as well . We bought a bunch of different flavors and enjoyed all of them. They have seasonal/holiday ones sometimes too which is so cute and festive! When we placed our order online, I almost didn't get it because it seemed so expensive for the size (from the pic). But it's actually pretty big in person so we were okay with the price. YUM! Been coming here for years with my family, and it's always a treat to eat. Got 3 different types of pasties recently and my favorite is still the chicken cordon bleu. The pork one was my second favorite and the beef was my least favorite. The flakey, buttery pastry with the succulent filling is deceivingly filling. The chicken cordon bleu is full of chopped chicken and cheese and is AMAZING. The pork is stuffed full of pulled pork and is tender and has a slight tang to it which I couldn't quite put my finger on the flavor. It is more mild compared to the chicken cordon bleu but still really enjoyable. The beef just could have used a little spice or more seasoning in my opinion, it was a little plain. It still had really succulent meat though. So glad we have this little gem of British culture here!! read more

This place is so cute! I just adore it! The workers that are there, love their job which makes it really awesome for the customers! A guy behind the counter explained what was in the variety of pasty's and gave me his recommendations on one's to try. I picked up two pasty and a British chocolate treat. I now have a new favorite candy (chocolate and marshmallow) and I need to try more of the flavors of pasty's now! This had me googling "how to make pasty" youtube video's all night! I've came a handful of times for the past few years but its been the first time coming since the start of the pandemic. The hours have also made it a little tough getting here in time. Couldn't place an online order so we decided to just head into the shop. There was understandably a small line inside so it was a little hard to maneuver. We got 2 sausage rolls, a traditional beef, and a chicken cordon bleu. We couldn't eat it the day we bought them but we reheated them the next day and it was almost like we just got them! The sausage rolls were my favorite before and they still are. Flaky, weighty and flavorful. Had to save the pasties for later because of how hefty the rolls were. I loved the traditional beef pasty, kind of like an empanada but just a little different. The cordon bleu was ok but not go to. When I can find the time, I will absolutely be going back soon. Delicious flaky pasties (think British empanada) that come in a variety of flavors. My personal favorite is the original. The pasties may look small but they're jam packed and make for a quick meal or hearty afternoon snack. Each pasty is $8-$9, which is a bit pricey for what it is, but like I said they're pretty big/filling and tasty. They also sell a variety of British branded goods that you can't find easily in the area such as certain snacks, chocolates, drinks, sausages and spreads. I randomly craved clotted cream (a spread I enjoyed on a scone at high tea in London) and was thrilled to learn they sell it here. Currently, you can only order ahead online and they come frozen not fresh and bake at home (instructions online & on the wrapper). Then you text the number on the door to notify you're there and they leave your order by the door. I stumbled upon this lovely establishment. It's a bit tucked away, but if you're in the area, it's worth visiting! The Pure Pasty serves up delicious hot pasties (think British basked empanada/meat pie), along with other yummy British snacks. There were five of us in the group, so we went with the Yelp Check-in Offer (5 pasties for $35). I sampled their Moroccan Lamb, Original, Thanksgiving (seasonal special), and Chicken Masala. All of them were flavorful and delicious in their own unique way. My favorite was probably the original, which was a classic ground beef with onion and vegetable filling. The crust on these babies were nice and buttery. Everything was served hot, so was definitely a nice meal on a chilly November afternoon. One pasty is pretty big, so I would say that one is enough to fill you up. I also noticed they sell some frozen pasties you could take to bake at home. Hole in the wall alert! English Puff Pasty. Stumbled upon this place in Vienna near Orange Theory and Nothing Bundt Cakes. Crazy good puff pastries and to sweeten the deal, Yelp has a 5 for $35 check in deal. Friends and I came to this place and it was good, perfect way to curb the chilly weather with a nice warm stuffed patsy. The original was my favorite and apparently has won some awards, simple beef, potatoes, peas in wonderful harmony surrounded by a fluff of heaven. Came around 12:30PM on a Saturday afternoon and there was a decent line out the door but ordering is pretty fast. They do run out of some popular items and you have to wait up to 25 minutes for the next batch to be ready. We got the Moroccan lamb, miner's special (had pork, potatoes, etc), the traditional, and peach apple. Got a frozen chicken masala to go as we couldn't wait for the next batch. The pasties were very good. We tried 5 different kinds and found them all to be good. It's probably not fair to compete them to UK pasties, but nevertheless, I do. The quantity and quality of the filling were on par with good ones. However, where they fall short is in value. A UK pasty is significantly less expensive. I felt like I was paying 300% more than I should have been. To me it just tells me that with good quality, no competition, and good demand, pricing must not be an issue for them. Economics still work. Good for them, but I would only grab one for a particular craving or one off. It seems unlikely it would be a regular stop. read more

I googled for a British store near me in Virginia and this little gem of a place came up, I was able to get stuffing mushy peas proper sausages and bacon I emailed the owner and asked if he could get me some boiling bacon in which he did Thankyou so much on top of that they sell traditional Cornish pasty's along with other varieties so I had to have one they're delicious maybe could do with a bit more seasoning but that's everyone's individual taste this is my new found go to place read more
