I'd say the waffles came out quite fast and looked really nice, but I'm not used to the texture of a protein waffle. I ordered the protein waffle with Nutella while my cousin got a protein waffle with blueberries, bananas, and peanut butter. While it wasn't something we normally would order, it definitely felt nutritious and was really filling to eat! A very safe place for allergies or Chiat diets as they are patient and answer every question without the "come on" look you get at so many places. Inside it's very chill, if you aren't a UNC fan you might have to look over some of the decor (over the top UNC stuff) but the food and service/people are definitely worth it. Good for the right kids. There's no sugary menu choices or pastries some kids only accept. This is becoming our favorite for those leisurely Saturday mornings. The regular bowl size is what I consider to be a snack size, but it still comes out to be around $13ish. You can only pick two fruits for the build your own bowl, which is disappointing. I always want everything on the menu at these health food-type places so was very pleased that they have a Snack Pack, which is a smaller sized bowl of your choice and one slice of avocado or peanut butter banana toast. I got the antioxidant bowl and avocado toast on gluten free bread and both were good. I prefer my avocado smashed and spread on my toast, but here they serve it as slices. Have not revisited The Purple Bowl nor have other people I know since we were in various instances given a product that did not match the description or the staff ignored us in taking & making our order, but was too busy fawning & chatting up their friends that were more important. When I politely explained the issue with a smoothie, I was interogated by this older woman who acted like she was a shareholder or something awful was at stake to make the order right. She had some sort of accent , maybe Eastern European and definitely was not a person who valued customer satisfaction and was remarkably rude.
