This was our second visit to Queen's Head Wine Pub. This is a very unique venue with an upscale, warm, lounge type feel accented by the nice furnishings, appointment's and decor. It's not pretentious, as you are greeted by the a member of their friendly staff as you enter. There are multiple facets to this venue, so it makes your visit exciting. I wont share any "spoiler's" so when you visit you can experience all the niceties personally. Food is fresh and menu changes occur seasonally. Tonite we only had appetizers but they were both very good. We had the Baked Brie, a puff pastry filled with creamy Brie and a jam dressing. It included a very tasty fruit and nut cracker, sliced apples and Carmel corn nuggets. Great combination of sweet and savory! We also had the Shrimp Cocktail. You get 8 very nice size shrimp, which were nicely chilled (nothing worse than warm shrimp) and cocktail sauce. The shrimp were fresh and meaty, good flavor. The staff is great. Riley did a great job taking care of us. We were also greeted by the owner John, who was visiting and talking with every table of guests. This IMO is a sign of a establishment that wants to insure their patrons are happy and enjoying their experience. We would definitely recommend giving them a try when in Cheboygan or the area. read more

Our first visit to Queens Head we were greeted warmly at the door by the owner, who graciously took our coats. We were seated in gorgeous chairs at a lovely table beneath exquisite light fixtures, treated to live music, and served an incredible meal! Smoked Trout chowder was on the menu--to our joy--and we found it filling and delicious. The salad that came with the meal was excellent, and the roast beef baguette was crispy and flavorful. Imagine our delight when, we were offered a full tour of the market surrounding the Pub. We were smitten from the start, and traveled through shop after shop with memorable merchandise. All the while we never roamed further than 20 feet from a bar! If you've never been, you must try the Queens Head Wine Bar. Once you do, you'll make the same decision we did. The customer service at The Queens Head is some of the best I've witnessed! We arrived with a party of 6 and were immediately sat down at a large table in the middle of the room. We were just beginning a trip to celebrate my grandma's belated 70th birthday and John, who turned out to be the owner, was so sweet to her and had her sit in a big leather "throne" at the end of the table. The waiter was incredibly attentive and patient with our rambunctious group! We had plenty of their fabulous wine, shared some appetizers (highly recommend the hummus), and enjoyed many of their menu offerings. They had a berry pizza with a balsamic vinaigrette and fresh raspberries and blueberries that was to die for! At the Queens Head they'll celebrate your birthday day of but they were so sweet and made an exception for our grandma and gave her a crown for her birthday. John and Marcella gave our family a tour of all of their connected shops that were closed and made us all want to come back! Then we wrapped up with some incredible and fresh strawberry bread pudding. Definitely recommend!! read more

I was traveling through Cheboygan on a trip with 6 dad aged men and we happened upon Stormy Kromer shop, and upon gentry we noticed it was a ladies store, and almost left, but then we noticed a little bar in there! So we sat down and chatted. Soon we found the labyrinth of shops with bars, an amazing little music theatre, and then the Queens Head through a secret book case door. Wow. Classy. Extremely well decorated, and the hospitality from one end to the other was fantastic. Food was way above expectations and overall we all left there hours later full of great food, beer and cocktails, and hearts full from an incredible experience. We are all returning 5 hour drive with our wives just to experience this place again !!! read more

We were in Cheboygan on a rainy day and happened to walk in just as they were opening. Marcella welcomed us so warmly, asked if we had ever been there and when we said we hadn't, she gave us a tour of the pub as well as the adjoining theater and lounge. The rest of our stay she greeted others the same way and was just so lovely, we knew our visit would be memorable! They have wonderful food, excellent beer and wine, and the atmosphere is worth the trip entirely. The patio will be lovely the next time we visit when it's not raining! read more

Great place all around. Food is awesome and they are willing to accommodate many types of diets. The owners are genuine friendly people who care about their business and community and that flows through the rest of the staff and atmosphere. We love it every time we get the chance to get in here...even accidentally crashing a private party . Went for dinner/wine last night. Food was good, service was cordial and prompt and the setting very nice, cozy and comfortable. The problem was with the wine service. We enjoy a good bottle of wine, but the list on the menu provided was very limited. We saw we could ask for an "additional wine list", which we did and found a bottle we liked - Chalk Hill Chardonnay - for $48, not a bad price. Ordered it, the server opened it away from us, stuck the cork back in, put the bottle in an ice bucket and set it on the table. Did not offer a taste or even pour the first glass. When I pulled the bottle from the ice bucket to pour I noticed it felt room temperature. Sure enough, upon pouring and taking I sip I discovered it was room temperature. I immediately asked the server and she said - yeah, that wine came from the back room those aren't chilled. I was shocked. I have NEVER been served a white wine at room temperature. Had to send it back and ordered glasses off the main menu. A place calling itself I wine pub should do much better. It is a shame, because otherwise they did a good job. They need to up their wine program dramatically. read more

Such a nice place. Clean and cozy. There are secret passageways and a beautiful fireplace with cushy leather seats all around. We shared a a big charcuterie board with fresh fruits and dips and fancy crackers. It also included dolmas and a delicious assortment of cheeses. The food was great but the real show stealer were the specialty cocktails. I recommend the White Queen that had high end spirits and muddle with fresh strawberry and mint. OUTSTANDING!! The staff was attentive and helpful and the entire service was prompt and satisfying. Can't wait to get back there. read more

More than just a wine bar... After waiting over a half hour at another restaurant being ignored and disrespected we left and stumbled upon The Queen's Head. Our lucky day. Immediately we were warmly welcomed, given the choice of outdoor or indoor dining. Ensconced in a most comfortable leather banquette in gorgeous surroundings, our server assisted us with the menu options. They gave us no shade since we were not imbibing in wine at a "wine bar". A pleasant surprise when the server brought out a piping hot French press for coffee. Everything was on an upswing from there: a delightful side salad with a not too sour balsamic vinaigrette and with the world's best cauliflower three cheese pizza, things were looking up. Fully satisfied and delighted we had one regret: why did we not discover this delightful establishment earlier than on the final night of our vacation??? Congratulations Cheboygan: you have a first class restaurant, wine bar and live entertainment. read more

The minute we walked in to the Queen's Head we knew we were in for a pleasant experience. The atmosphere is that of an English pub, warm and friendly. The food and ale were excellent and the wine selection a pure delight. The owners stopped by our table and introduced themselves. They gave us a history of how Queen's Head came to be and their expectations for the future. Note that the main entrance is one block west of Main Street, but you'll know it as soon as you see it. However, you can also enter through Marcells on Main Street. Whenever my family is in the Cheboygan area we will definitely stop in to Queen's Head for a meal in the warm, friendly atmosphere of old England. read more

The three of us sat at the bar and the bartender was so very rude. We did not feel welcome at all. They have craft cocktails and I asked her what she liked to make and she went off on me saying you never ask a bartender that question!!! I have worked in the industry for almost 50 years and would never say that to a guest!! She should have made a suggestion. My daughter and I dined there about a month ago and it was pretty much the same thing, she was busy cutting fruit!!!! Just love this place - Cocktails are amazing, they have Boddington's on tap, and a very nice wine selection. On each visit with large groups we tried a handful of small plates/apps and all were terrific. Super nice owners and staff to accompany the outstanding food and drinks. We came in here as still hungry refugees after dining at the other "new" restaurant in town. We were greeted warmly. The environment was lovely and cozy and welcoming. The menu has a nice variety of freshly prepared food. The four of us had different items, ranging from a delicious, appealing Brie sandwich to the tasty, fresh platters. The beer selection was small but good. The wine options were varied and good. The server was attentive and charming. The chef came out to say hello. We loved this place!!! read more
