Recently one of my cousins had her wedding at The Queensbury Hotel. Just walking into the lobby, I was in awe of how beautiful it was. High ceilings, grand fireplace, cozy chairs and a nice pub and restaurant to enjoy breakfast/dinner in (separate review for those). The ladies who helped check us in were very sweet. We stayed on the 2nd floor in a room with 2 queen size beds, which were not the most comfortable. However, the bathroom had a very spacious shower and great water pressure! In the mornings on our floor they provide free coffee and tea. Since we also had some time in between wedding festivities, we went to the hotel pool and had a nice time. We had a wonderful stay and fun fact- the hotel turned 100 years old following the week we were there! read more

I recently stayed overnight at The Queensbury Hotel following a hockey game downtown, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the civic center, as well as a variety of shops, museums, and restaurants, making it an ideal spot for both leisure and business travelers. Under its current ownership, the hotel has undergone significant renovations, resulting in a complete overhaul of the design while still preserving many of its original characteristics and charm. The lobby was beautifully decorated for the holiday season, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere, especially with the crackling fireplace adding warmth to the space. The second-floor mezzanine area serves as another gathering spot, perfect for groups or for enjoying a morning coffee. It adds a nice touch to the overall experience, encouraging guests to relax and socialize. Our sleeping room was located on the second floor and overlooked the bank parking lot. The room's decor was tastefully done, and I appreciated the spaciousness of both the room and bathroom, which is often lacking in many hotels. The bed and bedding were comfortable, allowing for a restful night's sleep. However, there were a few aspects that left me wanting more. The bathroom lacked its own heating or cooling system, which meant we had to leave the bedroom door open for airflow. Additionally, there was a lack of shelving or counter space for toiletries in the bathroom, making it a bit inconvenient. The bedroom curtains were purely decorative, and the pull-down shade did not fully cover the window, allowing in more light than I would have preferred. I'll definitely pack an eye mask for my next visit! The bedroom had carpeting around the bed, but the rest of the room featured hardwood floors, which meant that sounds, like drops or footsteps from above, could be heard. While it wasn't a major issue for me, it did disturb my partner's sleep at times. The pool had just reopened the day of our visit, so we took the opportunity to check out the area. It looked like a lovely, relaxing environment, although it was a bit awkward to locate. The pool is technically on the first floor, but the entrance is on the second floor, requiring a long staircase down. All in all, I would certainly consider staying at The Queensbury Hotel again, but I would pack a few extra items to enhance my comfort during the stay. What a lovely place. I'm tempted to not give it five stars because we want to keep it to ourselves! But seriously, it was a flawless stay. From the ease of parking to the beautiful room, from the delightful young man who checked us in, to the lovely dining room (the room cost was so reasonable that we didn't mind breakfast wasn't included; we usually don't eat the plastic breakfasts most hotels "include" anyway. Instead we paid for a yummy breakfast in their hotel dining room. The restaurant also serves lunch and dinner, and there's a full bar. The hotel also has a spa which I am anxious to check out on my next visit. Generous public spaces with coffee provided. Very 1920s look to the place, but I don't know the actual history of the hotel. I intend to check that out next time too. We intend to come back and stay several days. read more

Stayed at the Queensbury Hotel on a weekday while en route to Montreal -- it was fine overall. Friendly staff, clean rooms, and comfortable beds. The indoor pool was a nice bonus, and the on-site parking made things easy (though it's not secure). Conveniently located near a pizza place, so that was a plus. Nothing fancy, but it did the job for a quick stopover. read more

While the hotel lobby is cute and the downstairs decor really appealing, the actual rooms are dated and tiny. If you are sensitive to noise or enjoy sleeping through the night, don't stay here-- the AC is like having a plane landing in your room as it shifts on, you can hear everyone adjacent (next door, above, below) flush and shower, and if someone is talking in the hall as they walk by, you can hear it all. read more

I went to try and crawl into my bed after an exhausting day at the hospital experiencing internal bleeding and I was greeted by this BED BUG!!!!! What's worse? Angus (guy working the late night shift on May 29th. ) He didn't even care about this, probably have seen this before. It was like pulling teeth to get my money back. read more

Great hotel! Easy parking, nice common space, good group experience for our weekend trip. Would return!

This is just a beautiful hotel. I can only imagine what it was like in the 30s 40s and 50s. It big and charming. It was very easy to get there off the parkway. Nice size parking lot. You walk into a long hallway to the beautiful lobby. You can just feel the history here. It's a relatively small check in area but the very efficient staff greeted us with smiles and helped us get to our room. It was a lovely room with a magnificent view. Plenty of working space and there is a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker in the room. I t was a very comfortable living space and the bed and pillows were perfect. I like the fact that they along with many other hotels have direct TV. I am sorry that I did not have time to take advantage of their lovely pool and and hot tub. We had a meeting and lunch in the Gold room the next day. They have a very attentive staff, good food and comfortable setting. Clean, comfortable, nice meeting areas and a nice restaurant. Nice hotel with a few minor issues. The rooms were super clean and well appointed. However we didn't know we had a fridge til almost check out time it was hidden that well. The water pressure was not the greatest and the toilets were ridiculously low to the ground. We had an included breakfast with our senior group tour that was ok,nothing outstanding. Horrible experience here, the staff are completely unhelpful and unresponsive. They allow the guest to run the building especially the pool area. hot tub was used for cannon balls, personal belongings were destroyed phones,sneakers, backpacks. Parents attempted to fight us. What a classy place. The location was central to Six Flags and Lake George. No more than 15 mins to either one. I was especially impressed with an elegant dining room. Was not outdated and very very classy. And the prices were pretty decent as well specially for a caliber like that. Loved the unique and ODOR FREE historical rooms. We had a closet with a bench so all of the messy bags were away from sight! What a great idea! I wish all of the hotels did that. We had a dinner in the courtyard. Wow! I just loved it. Great waitress and the younger manager woman who had great customer service skills. Beautiful inviting clean pool with a very good internal water temperature. A very friendly, down to earth maintenance guy who we saw a lot around the hotel. What was missing? Discounted tickets to Six Flags and/or Lake George boat tours. I think the hotel should have those offers ready for the traveling families and actually advertise that. I believe that would bring better revenues. The owner who purchased and remodeled that hotel has a good taste and is not cheap. You can sense that in the decor, finishes, and furniture choices. He's a guy who knows that you have to invest in order to please your customers. Not a cheap rip off who unfortunately are all over the place nowadays. And I thank him for that. Just minor suggestions: to add towel racks in some bathrooms (some of your bathrooms had none). Also add bathroom exhausts in the bathrooms that had no windows. Check sinks and make sure none are plugged. Fix all toilet paper holders. Add liquid soaps or at least bar soap trays. Small things that become pretty annoying when broken or absent. The hotel is perfectly located to get just about anywhere in terms of the Upstate area - you can get to Saratoga quickly via the easy access to the Northway or you can head up Route 9 to get to the Lake George area.... there are plenty of decent restaurants within walking distance, but the hotel itself offers a great option that isn't grossly overpriced. There is a Rite Aid next door for the essentials if you forgot them, so you really couldn't find a better gem of a spot. The updates look fantastic - and the rooms themselves are good enough for a quick stop. If you're staying for an extended period of time (more than a couple of days) you probably want to stay aware of a few things: 1. The bathrooms are small (no vast sink to store your toiletries) so you may need to get used to keeping things minimal in the bathroom itself. 2. The GF papermill is very close, so you need to be prepared to smell the SMELLS. It's much like sewage and if you say something to the front desk, they'll definitely blame it on the papermill. You want to be sure to bring some sort of air freshener to mask the smell the best you can.... it won't go away and definitely don't think the AC unit being on permanent fan will help you, because it definitely will not. 3. Cleaning is minimal at best. They will make your bed and they'll dust, but you don't want to focus too much on the white doors that are covered in splatters from guests before you - or the random hairs (not yours) that might be there upon your arrival.... if you don't mind all that and can do a quick clean of your own, the accommodations are just fine. The linens appeared to be clean as were the towels. 4. You will not have shampoo/conditioners/bodywash replenished if you're staying for a few days, so use them sparingly or ask for more at the front desk. Overall - I was fine with staying at the Queensbury and would again. Just knowing the items above will ensure your stay is seamless and trouble free. The options for food delivery are great too so if you don't want to go out - you've got a lot of options & will be pleasantly surprised compared to some of the other hotels in the area. read more

My partner and I stayed at the Queenbury Hotel on Wednesday night. It was a lovey experience. What I loved about this hotel is that it's dog friendly. It is a $50.00 charge per animal. Those who bring animals will stay on the second floor. There is a park right across the hotel so if you need to take your animal do go potty, it's a very short walk. You just cross the street! The park also has baggies next to the garbage cans so you can pick up after your baby. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The hotel includes a pool and a fitness center. The area when you first walk in is absolutely beautiful to take pictures. The hotel has its own restaurant downstairs. You can either eat in, or request room service. Mind you, if you want it delivered to your room it is a $5.00 dollars charge, and tip is included. I ordered breakfast and lunch and I was extremely satisfied with the presentation and flavor. The rooms in which I stayed at was small. It did not have a microwave nor a mini fridge. That was the only thing I was upset with, besides that. Everything worked out well. Second time was two queen beds in good sized room. However bathroom was claustrophobic. Two towel bars over the toilet!?! Shiver to think what blowback could be on them. Shower was coffin sized. Stayed here for a wedding and I was amazed by this hotel. It's clearly been renovated to stay current yet honor its history. The room with king bed that we had was spacious. While the bathroom felt a touch small, it was fully functional. I would stay here again in Glens Falls -- I felt that the prices were also reasonable for the high quality stay that we received. Inattentive front desk staff makes it seem like they are doing you a favor by checking you in, bartenders that seem like they wish they were anywhere else but where they are when they are serving you- It's seriously off putting to say the least. A nice retreat from NYC. The staff were kind and very helpful. We asked to have additional towels sent to the room and they were there in less than 5 min. Tabatha at the front desk was extremely helpful. We had a few questions about where to eat locally and she pointed us in the right direction. I needed something printed but they didn't have a "office" area, so I was able to e-mail her the doc and she printed it out then and there. As for the room - CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. As we are in COVID times I brought sanitizing wipes just in case, turns out I didn't feel the need to use them. The room was SPOTLESS and it looked like we were the first people to stay in it. There was a walk in closet bigger than my bathroom in the City. The bathroom was extremely clean. The vintage door knobs were a classy touch to bringing the old school feel back with a modern twist. The linens were clean, and I wanted to take the comforter home with me. Heavy enough to fall asleep under but not too hot that I melted during the night. WiFi was quick and reliable. We didn't make it to the pool but took some pictures and as the rest of the hotel looked and smelled clean. read more

This is a hotel where you expect to find a robe hanging in the room. It's got fabulous high ceilings and wide doors. Big windows. The beds are here are very very comfortable. The bathrooms of an updated, could be there are only showers in all. they're very nice modern showerheads. There was a huge walk-in closet. TVs are flat screen. Hallways are long and large allowing for plenty of people to make plenty of noise. I think this may have been a hotel in all its iterations. Felt like it. Also felt like you should have a bathrobe in the room, but there isn't one. No fridge either. Easy parking. read more

The Queensbury Hotel - King sized bed w/ large walk-in closet - Hotels Near Me - Glens Falls, New York

The lobby of the Queensbury Hotel is very impressive. I learned later on the hotel's television channel that they renovated fairly recently and have restored the hotel to the original 1930s look - and you can really see the care and love in the lobby. It's a very cool space to look around. This was much closer to a three star experience than the promised four star that you would imagine after seeing the lobby. There's a contact less check-in but we went with the physical check-in. I could barely hear the woman who helped me and I missed some details but was tired and just wanted to get to the room. Previous to arriving, I had booked and received a message that despite the ad promising a fridge and microwave in the room I selected that if I wanted them then it was a $10 extra fee per item per day. I thought that was okay but weird they advertised it and it wasn't actually part of the room and assumed since I didn't respond and indicate that I didn't want it that it would be there - oops, wrong. No microwave and no fridge. The room was pretty small so I didn't see where either could go without being in the way so we didn't say anything but it was an inconvenience. The room wasn't super clean. The bed was nice and comfortable so no complaints there but it faced a mirror that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. Gross. The bathroom was also dirtier than anticipated. One towel had what looked like coffee stains. Again, yuck. The floor was not super clean and there were spiders in the shower. Also, the toilet was super low. Someone with mobility issues may have had a really tough time with a super low toilet and the paper so far away you had to get off of it to reach it. Also, finally no fan which I dislike as you can hear everything and then it's all steamed up after a shower. The actual shower was pretty good but took awhile to get hot. Again, the room was just okay. Not what we expected for the price. There also is no hotel parking despite it being advertised as included. Luckily, there was plenty of free parking around the hotel. Also, located right next door is a Rite Aid. The downtown has several restaurants but not much else going on. I thought we had breakfast included but apparently not. You can pay for it and it looks good but we only tried the free coffee which was delicious. All in all, it was just okay. Not a 4 star and certainly not a 5 star. read more

Wouldn't recommend staying here unless you are coming for someone's wedding. You'll have to navigate around wedding parties in most of the common spaces and deal with loud groups in the halls. Other than that, the rooms are ok nothing special. The bedding, especially the pillows, feel very cheap. Every time someone opens or closes a door to their room it slams loudly and shakes your door. Probably the worst sleep I've ever had. We tried to get breakfast one morning, we got seated and after waiting 10 minutes for someone to come to our table I decided to get some coffee myself from the to-go containers. Too bad they were empty! We saw people who sat down after us get coffee and water before us. When they finally came around to bring us coffee it was cold! I heard other guests complaining as well, and had to listen to one of the older employees yelling at a younger employee in front of all the guests. Edited to add: no fan in the bathroom, no fridge in the room and one of the towels in the bathroom had stains on it. I stayed at a double tree a few weeks ago and it was a way better experience than this for a lot less money. 3 stars is for the pool/hot tub which we enjoyed. read more

There are reasons to stay at a small Historical Hotel, I have stayed in many from The Hershey Hotel to the Menger Hotel in Tx. They often have amenities like bars, restaurants, salons, pools, entertainment. A hotel like this main attraction is you can stay in the hotel all day and be comfortable. Even though the Queensbury said they had all of these, they all fell short. Rooms were small. we were expecting that. We were not expecting not to be able to close the bathroom door when the toilet seat was down (see pics). The rest of the rooms was cramped, no microwave, no refrigerator. The bar was expensive, and the food and drink was subpar. The only redeeming thing was the French Onion Soup. This placed had NY city prices. The pool was over chlorinated. I tried to book the salon for a week prior to arriving and they never called me back, when I got there I could never find anybody in the salon to talk to. Note: not all rooms have been renovated. Spent a night in an older (but adequate) room in a hallway that was basically a construction area. Yes, comfy beds, but overpriced for what we got. It is convenient to towns and has excellent parking. Was not impressed by staff. We arrived at 3:50 and room wasn't ready. Yes, check in is at 4, but they made us feel like we were wrong in asking. I read a lot of reviews before booking this hotel. I got one room at $206 per night. Two queen beds and a roll-away at $10 a day. I am travelling with my mom (who uses a wheelchair), dad, brother, and sister. The hotel wasn't too bad but some things were just weird. They advertised free breakfast on the website, but in reality they give you $5 dollar tokens which can be either used to buy a morning basket (coffe/tea/juice, muffin, and fresh fruit) OR you can take $5 dollars off any menu item. There was no mini fridge in the room or a microwave, you have to rent those for 10 dollars a night. Queen beds were comfy and it was fine. The bathroom was really outdated, and I'm a frequent traveler, so I've seen some nice hotels at this place. Wifi is free but crappy. Im using my 4G network right now to write this review lol. Overall verdict: Not bad. Ive seen better. I would say if you are visiting lake george and Can't find anything else, Queensbury is fine! read more

For the price and the quality of the bed/shower I thought it was up there. I don't know why people are hating on the quaintness of this historic hotel. This is an older historic hotel in the heart of glen falls that has been recently renovated. They have kept the historic feel while bringing the rooms up to date with comfortable beds and modern finishes. Yeah I might have heard some people walking down the hall but over the sound of the heater I couldn't hear them. I will have to say that the bed was one of the most comfortable beds that I have been in besides my review for hotel Syracuse. The room was clean, the bathroom was recently renovated and our view was that of the ski slopes. The WiFi was a little slow but no different from some of the 'name brand' hotels that I have been such as Hilton or embassy. I was able to enjoy the pool and jacuzzi which were nice to enjoy after traveling. I love how they have preserved a historic building and gave new life to it. The price isn't bad. And the proximity of great restaurants within walking distance is a plus. I would Iove to visit in the summer. read more

Cute hotel with a lot of amenities! The Building itself is restored with keeping lots of charm. The lobby is spacious and warming as you walk in. The on-site restaurants have great food & service. The only negative about the hotel is the walls are very thin so when you have other guests roaming the halls & kids yelling at ungodly hours you can hear it. Not the fault of the hotel though. The pool area is great with seating & towels provided. Very strong chlorine smell though & odd way to enter the pool. Head up to the 2nd floor then walk Down a set of stairs to access the pool on the first floor. Rooms are spacious and clean, great layouts that allow for individual space. The bathrooms are a bit small, and the hot water took a while to warm up but not a deal breaker! Definitely recommend the hotel to anyone staying in the area, great location! read more

If I could give hotel a true zero I would give them a -10 far from being clean an sanitary. Infested with spiders I reported to the hotel front desk nothing was done. I was told room would be cleaned and sanitized and nothing was done they changed the sheets and that's it !!!!! Request for them to clean properly not done at all !!! Staff good the place was clean , but the floor we were on smelled strongly of cigarettes. There was a person window open having sex across from my room, lots of drunk people a lady even got taken out in an ambulance . The staff were really nice though , the rest of the three stars belong to the employees the people get the one star. read more
