Arrived for Barberry Court and saw a sign indicating we needed to check in at the hotel across the busy street. ( Brookside) Given a key for Barberry - then before we left the office we were changed to a cabin at Brookside. The property is beautiful. The bed was a full not a queen as requested and the springs were about pushing through the mattress. So uncomfortable-We basically napped, but did not get a full night sleep. The cabins are small and rustic, and the bathroom could use some updating. We were exhausted for our 3 hour ride home. I recommend that you ask to see the room first. read more

Room was infested with bed bugs. Management's response to the issue was paltry and inadequate. Room was semi clean. Located within walking distance to Lake George Village and the motel has a brook running behind it. The stay would have been okay if it wasn't for the bed bugs and managements response. The Brookside Motel is my "go to" hotel in the Lake George area. It is only a few minutes away from the downtown area and music festival venue. The rooms are quaint and cozy and far enough away from the road that you don't hear the traffic. There is also a nice brook behind the motel that gives you some necessary ambiance away from the hustle and bustle! The owner here is probably my favorite part to be honest, he is such a kind man and went above and beyond to make sure my boyfriend and I were comfortable and had everything we needed. Another awesome perk is the trolley that stops right across the street from the hotel every 20 minutes or so and will bring you downtown and by the music festival venue. We are planning on staying here next year for the festival and for years to come! read more

This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced, the women in the office actually came out with pajamas on, they are rude and not friendly at all. They have bed bugs, rooms smelled, office smelled. The bathroom looked like it wasn't clean for years, tub was black. DO NOT GO THERE. read more

The hotel is run down and dirty. We had mold in our shower. The worst was the raccoon issue. The animals were living under the floor and would bang around and screech all night. the people we were traveling with had the same issue five doors down so it would seem the animals have the run of the place. We told the owner, he said he knew about it and would get then out eventually. My friend went in to complain and then his son and friends who were in another room to complain about another issue with their room and the owner locked the office so we couldn't come in. Save your money. There are much better places in Lake George for the same price. read more

We checked out Hotwire and found this motel. You always take a chance when booking places on these sights. You just hope for the best. We were not disappointed. The rooms are clean. It's close to all the action. The owners are pleasant. The brook that runs behind the building is picturesque. I would definitely come back here. The location is great. Wonderful place to go. The motel rooms are nice and have a brook running right behind it. You'll always hear the brook running and can look at it/take pictures at your own time. They provide you with an outside kitchen, board games, BBQ stands, swimming area, and sufficient parking. If you pay a bit more, you can also get a "mini house" which looks more home-like and doesn't share walls with the other rooms. I would definitely stay here again if I revisit Lake George. What I like is that this motel is a block or two away from the crowd of motels on the same street; this means that you'll have a quiet place to stay while still having the benefits of a reasonably-priced and conveniently situated motel. It's two minutes from the Lake George Village, and just off the highway that takes you there. The staff is friendly and willing to help you find great things to do around the area as well. We got to meet the owner as we were checking out. He is very friendly, and called us a little bit later to tell us we left something back in our room. Coffee is out in the mornings and there are a lot of brochures at the office. Remember to bring your toiletries and have fun! read more

Currently staying here but leaving a day early. Reason being the place smells like urine so bad. Room was not clean - brought our own cleaning products to clean thankfully. So many dead bugs behind dresser and bed side table. Bathroom filthy and reeks of piss, shower is dingy, as well as the room it's self is super outdated. If you're getting a room with kitchenette please bring your own things the pans and silverware are absolutely disgusting. Only gave it one star because there wasn't anything left. Being non smokers we enjoyed the smell from our neighbors smoke coming in our windows to counteract the smell of piss. Air conditioner was moldy. read more

Stayed here for a long weekend with my boyfriend, we both enjoy our time on the property. The rooms are basic but are clean and have everything you need. The property is very well maintained and includes extras like a pool, shared use outdoor grills, and coffee and tea. The proprietor was very friendly and seems to care about guest experience. The motel is walk-able to the shops and restaurants on Canada St. and the Lake itself. I would recommend this location to anyone looking to enjoy Lake George on a budget. read more

I got this hotel with little to no knowledge of it. After arriving it was a pleasant surprise to see that our room was all in order when we arrived after the ten a clock check in time. We had a small issue with our shower head due to the fact that it malfunctioned in some way. Things do happen and it was not the end of the world for us. The owner was very nice to us and apologetic. He gave me and our family an additional room which were able to shower in. The staff were all very professional and there for us. The Motel was very close to town and we were delighted to find out there was a trolley that comes on a 20 minute basis so walking didn't even have to be an option. They have a nice clean pool and even a kitchen for people to cook in. Loved the place... Will be returning soon! read more

Was looking for an inexpensive place for myself and my family to enjoy Lake George and stumbled on to Brookside, to my delight I couldnt be happier w pick!Used to stay at Scotty's down the block but their rates doubled after renovation and I don't care for new ownership,anyway I highly recommend going with a cabin here there are 10 of them and it overlooks a beautiful and tranquil little brook that runs into the lake they have barbecues situated right near it along with picnic tables , our little cabin was extremely clean had two full beds a full bathroom with shower stall ,closet ,dresser for all your clothes,mino fridge and a brand-new flatscreen TV as well as a beautiful Cedar ceiling with ample lighting & parking right in front and plenty of outside lighting for nighttime safety as well,there was also a swing set and full playground as well as updated pool, I only paid $96 during the prime season summer for all this!Ion is the owner and he runs the place with his wife and son and daughter as well as his mother.He is very meticulous about cleanliness and his customer service went a long way w me,place is a 10 minute walk to the village & the trolley also stops in the front! pick this place and you won't be disappointed! read more

You get what you paid for. The Cabin we stayed in was cute a bit tiny but it was still a good time. We didnt get the whole trolly thing so you pretty much need the car to drive to town or anywhere else. Never got to go in the pool but it looked very nice. Overall it was just ok. read more

Now that I have been here for a full day I can honestly say this is a very nice motel. I have a thing about cleanliness, and the room/ cabin is very clean. The cabin I'm in is small, and the bathroom tiny, but efficient. There is a brook with fire pits and plenty of wood, several grills for cooking and a guest kitchen. The owners are extremely kind. The bed is very comfortable. There is free WiFi and cable. There's a pizza place across the street and the location is with in walking distance to the village, but far enough away for peace and quiet. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because it is not a five star hotel. If you are looking for a nice, inexpensive, relaxing get away I highly recommend this place. Although this motel is dated, it is very clean. I am very picky about choosing places for my family and I to stay in, and the #1 thing I always look for is cleanliness. I read the other reviews, and they all said this place was nice and clean. They were correct. The bathroom, tub, toilet, floor was clean. All the sheets were white and clean with no stains. The refrigerator was also very clean. The gentleman at the desk who checked us in was also very cordial and polite. They do have an outdoor pool, that has a small section that is 3ft deep, then 5ft deep, and most of the rest is 8ft deep. I did see the caretaker periodically cleaning out the pool, which is also good, since it is an outdoor pool and there are a lot of trees and since the motel is near to a wooded area, it can tend to get debris in it from time to time. But I did feel that they did a good job keeping the area clean. The room also had an air conditioning unit, and after leaving it on for an hour, the room did get nice and cool fast. It is about a 10 minute drive to everything: Lake George, Six Flags Great Escape, Outlet shopping. I also liked that we weren't too close to the hustle and bustle of everything downtown because it was nice and quiet and peaceful. All in all, we had a pleasant stay, and I would recommend this motel to others. read more

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights this past weekend and it was lovely. The cottage we stayed in was very clean, comfortably cozy and quiet. We were pleasantly surprised. The motel owner was extremely kind and appreciative, which you don't find very often these days. They even had a cottage set aside for all guests to use as a kitchen with a full fridge, microwave, utensils, tables and chairs, stove and oven, etc. The parking lot/wooded area has a fire pit for guests to use and a picnic table. There is a beautiful little babbling brook with some rocks to sit on adjacent to the cottages. All of the cottages and motel rooms have small porches with chairs and a table to have coffee or a glass of wine at night. Very charming. Our cottage had rustic decor including lights with bear silouhettes on the lampshades. The only suggestion for the owner would be to put a blind on the window as the parking lot light was really bright at night. Overall, our stay was really nice and better than some of the more expensive, upscale places we've stayed in the past! read more

We stayed at Brookside for Memorial Day weekend and we really liked it. If you're expecting a 5 star modern resort that's not going to happen because it is not available in Lake George; we've been coming to the lake for the past 5 years and the previous motel experiences right in the heart of the village were mediocre to say at least. we stayed at the Georgian last year and was supposed to be the best around, we paid 3 times more and we were extremely disappointed. This year we were just looking for a comfortable, clean and affordable place to stay and this is it. ; we really liked the fact that you're not surrounded by asphalt and buildings, there's a pretty good size brook that splits the property in half and the water splashes onto the rocks, you got nice grill area under tall pine trees and the water in the background, just beautiful vacation fell. I think the furniture could use a little updating but all in all we had a great time. read more
