Very romantic atmosphere. I went here with my boyfriend after someone else suggested this place. We got French onion soups, deviled eggs, Caesar salad, panna cotta, and ice cream. I also got a peach flavoured beer. I wouldn't recommend the French onion because it's not oniony enough. But the desserts are delish, I devoured the deviled eggs, and the bae and I had differing opinions on the salad (the dressing tasted homemade tho). read more

Omg what a great restaurant and wine shop in downtown Corning! Was driving back from Canada to DC and wanted a scenic restaurant with delicious food and relaxation to break up the drive. After not being able to eat at a BBQ place near by, we stumbled across the Quincy Exchange and saw they were serving brunch. Thankfully they had a table for us as seating is limited and we didn't have a reservation. Our server Joshua was amazing and so friendly. Learned he was was Hickory, NC which is great as I went to school in Raleigh. The world can be so small. My boyfriend and I tried a glass of their house Riesling, Element. Super great if you're into semi-dry Riesling. We told Joshua how much we've enjoyed dry rieslings from the finger lakes region and he brought us another bottle to try from their wine shop next door. There is a $20 corking fee. Once grabbing our wines, my boyfriend and I enjoyed some oysters from WA and MA ($4.75 each). A little pricey but they were great. For entrees, I enjoyed the Quincy salad with shrimp, AMAZING. My boyfriend got the squash risotto with shrimp, delicious, warm and cheesy! For desert we decided to share their cardamom french toast which did not disappoint! Tips are included in the price, no place to leave an additional tip (if paying by card). I will definitely stop by Quincy Market on my travels up to Canada and look forward to checking out their wine selection next time! We had our anniversary dinner here on 9/14/23 and the Quincy Exchange did not disappoint! The hostess with the beautiful blouse welcomed us and sat us in a nice location (close to the bar!). Our server was Joshua who made the evening for us special. He had some nice drink recommendations (watermelon mule & the peach gimlet). We had the deviled eggs two ways (crab & caviar), oysters, the burger with bacon and twice fried potatoes and the lamb ragu pasta with summer squash was all delectable! the vanilla ice cream with brown butter caramel sauce was out of this world as a dessert. The wine store is located adjacent to the restaurant on the left and a hostess will greet you to the restaurant located on the right. I strongly recommend making reservations here! FOOD Their menu consists of oysters, salads, pasta and a few staple entrees. We ended up sharing: -Shaved Spring Vegetable Salad. This was very refreshing! It was light and flavors mixed well -Spaghetti Carbonara. This was delicious. The pasta was very fresh and you can get either a half or the full size portion to share. -Steak Frites....AMAZING. The steak was individually sliced and the texture of the crispy herbed potatoes were cooked in a way that were so delicious! You can also opt to add onions, butter, blue cheese or truffle mayo for an additional $3 each. SERVICE The staff was friendly and attentive. Hospitality is already included in the menu prices. The ambiance and decor makes this a beautiful place to dine. Staff (bartender in particular) are friendly, helpful, warm. This was a 27th anniversary dinner in August and we are so happy with our dinner and experience. Appetizers and main meal were tasty and delicious. As a vegetarian, there were selections for me while a variety of selections for my meat-eating husband. Quality ingredients and expertly prepared. Highly recommend and we will be back. Open on Sundays!!! Fantastic bar selection. My wife had Kentucky Mule that was good but a bit too ginger beer forward for her. I had a Manhattan with Willet Rye. Excellent but surprised they did not have Antica. A bonus for me: 2019 Bourbon County Brand Stout on tap. Yummy. Wife had hummus. Wow, it was good. I had a dozen oysters. Tasty BUT a few of them were far too small. They really should not put dime-sized oysters on the tray. Wife had mushroom risotto special. Fantastic. I had the ribeye rare. Superb! My husband and I came here on April 25th for dinner. We were on a little getaway to visit the Corning Museum and their menu looked good so we decided to give it a try. The inside is beautiful, very light and very open which we really enjoyed. We ordered the spiced cashews, cornmeal crusted calamari and the crab deviled eggs. Our server was a nice young person named Donald, he was attentive and explained each item we ordered thoroughly to us. The spiced cashews were good however it was not a far cry from something you could easily get in a bag at a convenience store. The calamari was cooked perfectly but the sauces that were layered on the bottom of the plate (curry aioli, chipotle cream) made the calamari soggy. If the sauces were served on the side they may have been more enjoyable but the chipotle cream particularly felt out of place. The crab deviled eggs was what I was really excited about. When they first came to our table they were not at all how I've seen in Yelp pictures or on Instagram. Our eggs looked like they were kind of just lobbed on the plate. We had one each as you only get two in an order. They were disappointing to say the least. Very little crab on the already small egg, it tasted more like a macaroni salad mix. After a dissatisfying round of appetizers we decided to venture down the street and try a few other places. As I stated earlier we were just visiting Corning for a little getaway so I wanted to make the most of our experience. Unfortunately the appetizers missed the mark for us and we didn't feel the need to stay for entrees. We are talking about possibly going back for the Glass Festival, if we do I would love to try the brunch here! read more

I had an amazing Birthday Dinner at The Quincy Exchange! Thank you Kelly O'Conner for the amazing hospitality. The restaurant sits in an old bank and is beautifully decorated. We started with: Ichiban Oysters from the Puget Sound - simple and delicious. Crab Deviled Eggs - super cream and rich with crab. (Note: The picture has 3 and this was a special birthday amuse-bouche). Root Vegetable Salad - complex and a great example of the combinations of flavors you will experience at an FLX restaurant. It had the earthiness of the root vegetables, combined the creaminess of Brie d'Amir, and Asian flavors (Honey-Miso Vinaigrette and Black Sesame Seeds). For entrees we had: Butternut Squash & Lentil Curry - this dish had a wonderful kick and combined the flavors of Cipollini Onions, Almond Milk Curry, Broccoli, Kumquats, and Crème Fraîche along with the Butternut Squash. Steelhead Trout - this dish was amazing! It was served with Israeli Cous Cous, Frisée, Butternut Squash, and Sauce Grenobloise. Lobster Mac N Cheese - Girelle Pasta tossed in a light cheese sauce and tons of lobster. And to finish the meal we had Panna Cotta and Hazelnut Dacquoise. Both were incredible and a great way to end an amazing meal. The wine list is filled with some very interesting and unique wines. We had an amazing Rioja. We happened to be staying close by, so we walked to the restaurant, but there is ample street parking. The Quincy Exchange is a must if you are in Corning or nearby! read more

Very pretty and great staff but food is not great. We had hangar steak medium rare and it's tough and well salted and peppered. Asked for sautéed onions and it was on the steak so cooked down that I thought it was a sauce. The pepper was way too much. Romaine salad was good but don't need the whole anchovy in it. Drinks were good but overall very expensive for not a great meal. Friend got the burger and she knew it was from frozen and super salty. French fries were not. They were chunks of a baked potato that were deep fried. Overall very disappointing. read more

Hubby and I celebrated our fourth anniversary yesterday at TQE. This was our second (quite delayed) visit, and - just like the first time - we left with huge smiles across our faces. Food was delicious; we both had that day's specials (salmon for me, sirloin for him). I was a bit disappointed that steak tartare was not available, but we understood that menus do change. The waitress (very professional, attentive without being in our faces), made recommendations, asked us (when she noticed that neither me nor him shown much interest in the carrot salad) how the dish could be improved, and made sure she would let the chefs know (carrots could have used a bit blanching, or be cut slightly thinner). We split the desert, which was a lovely concoction of ganache with crushed hazelnuts and cartelized oranges (must be a new thing, not on the most recent online menu, highly recommended). One of my biggest issues with US-based restaurants is that even a crappy service (clearly NOT the case here) is expected to be rewarded. I love TQE's policy of no tipping, which means that all the employees get well compensated in addition to having a medical/dental insurance coverage. I am surprised that there aren't more restaurants following such model, especially nowadays, when being "for profit" seems to be a dirty word to the Woke. We will definitely return. The food, the service, and the ambiance - it was worth every penny. read more

We spent a few days in Corning and Watkins Glen this past week, enjoying the museum, the hiking, and eating at some fine local restaurants. This place looked promising, but was such a dreadful experience that we're forced to warn others off. The service is a disaster (there was none), and let's just say that the food we did sample (finally--the place was empty, but somehow shucking 12 oysters was an impossible task for the kitchen)--didn't kill us. After the disappointing wine and oysters, and indifferent service-we headed across the street to an excellent meal at The Cellar where we were treated like guests. read more

We had a wonderful meal at The Quincy Exchange. The restaurant and wine store share a space (on either side of the entry area) in a historic building that used to be a bank. The atmosphere is wonderful and the tables are not too close together. We were visiting the area for a car race at Watkins Glen International Raceway. Downtown Corning is lovely and has easy and free parking. We ordered: Warm bread with a selection of olive oils Spiced nuts with curry & chili salt French onion soup The Quincy burger with a side of crispy potatoes Asparagus & morel mushrooms (side dish on special) Affogato While everything we had was outstanding, the crispy potatoes and side dish of asparagus & morels were the best we've had ANYWHERE! Whenever we order asparagus in a restaurant it's overcooked but this was perfect! I will dream of eating those potatoes again, but I'm not sure we will make it back up to Corning any time soon. My only critique would be that the bread to soup ratio in the French Onion Soup was skewed (too much bread). That said, the soup was delicious and had nice onion flavor and was not too salty. The owner spent some time chatting with us and she was so lovely! This restaurant is a gem! read more

We had dinner at the Quincy Exchange and the whole experience was wonderful. We arrived about 30 minutes before our reservation and were able to have cocktails before being seated. The Wellington and a margarita - both drinks were excellent. One of the things we liked about the bar, and also the dining area, is that you weren't packed in like sardines. You had ample space between the chairs at the bar and between tables when dining. Once we were seated, our waitress was attentive without being overbearing. It's really nice to have a relaxed dinner while at the same time, feel like you're being taken care of. On to the food - in short, it was excellent. My wife had the malfanelle pasta with lamb and I had the garganelli pasta with shrimp. Seasoned and cooked perfectly and the serving sizes were ideal. However, the deserts were the absolute highlight of the evening. We had the coconut panna cotta and the tahini chocolate brownie sundae. I think my wife had a smile on her face the entire time she was eating dessert. I would highly recommend the Quincy Exchange if you are looking for a relaxed environment, excellent service and outstanding food. read more

We visited on Sunday and wanted brunch, and really enjoyed the avocado focaccia toast with a few drops of spicy chili oil. Our hostess was attentive and charming. But even so, there were some oddities that prevent me from making this a five star review. First, the focaccia has entire cloves of garlic (and a lot of them) scattered in a strange way: I ended up with four and a half cloves, but my wife had none. I had to pick them out -- eating four cloves of garlic (and not even very cooked, so this was close to raw garlic) was not a goal I had for Sunday brunch! Second, the whole place was playing very loud music, some sort of Spotify stream. Some of the music was ok, some was kind of rapper style or disco style stuff with a heavy beat. Does this make any sense at all for Sunday brunch with a clientele of mostly middle aged or older diners? At a minimum, the music should have been way less loud. Even better might have been to pick a Spotify channel a bit more aligned with the audience (and then still play it less loudly). read more

I visited The Quincy Exchange last night and although the service was a little slow, on the whole, we had a great meal! Since we came on a Friday night, it was expectedly busy, which meant we had to wait for a table, but the hostess was super nice and let us sit on the "Provisions" side to get a drink while we waited. Once we did get seated, the service was pretty slow. We had to ask for water twice which was a little annoying and we're on our second round of drink by the time we got water! We ordered the crab deviled eggs and RI oysters to start. While both the oysters and the egg was delectable, it took over 30 min to come, which was disappointing. For our mains, we shared the duck cassoulet and girelle bleu cheese and pumpkin pasta. The pasta was delicious, but the bleu cheese overpowered most of the other tastes. I would have liked to taste more of the sage flavor and maybe have the pumpkin play a bigger role than just small chunks intermingled in the dish. The duck was fantastic! Very deep and complex flavors. However, the dish as a whole was just a little too salty because of the seasoned breadcrumbs. It seemed a bit over seasoned because of the breadcrumbs. Lastly, we got the s'mores pot which was amazing! The dark chocolate at the bottom was exactly what was needed to cut the sweetness of the marshmallow chunk. All in all, you get pretty much what you would expect from a restaurant like this except the service. The whole dinner ordeal including waiting for a table took almost 3 hours-- we were seated at a table for 2.5 of those, which would've been a problem if we had somewhere to be later last night. I hope this restaurant stays open because it's a great experience and different for the Market St area, but I hope their service and food improves! read more

This is a lovely and modern space right on Market street. I came here for brunch on Saturday. Making reservations online was quick and easy. The first thing I noticed upon sitting down was the stylish decor (wallpaper, furniture, even the cute floral plates) in the light-filled dining area. Our server was attentive and helpful, and refilled our waters multiple times throughout the meal. We ordered the baked brie (menu says it's for 2 but it's a LOT, could definitely work as an appetizer for 3-4), stuffed French toast (just the right amount of sweetness), and croque madame. Everything was very tasty and came out within a reasonable waiting time. The only constructive critique I would offer is to add more vegetarian options. This space used to be a very traditional steakhouse (Tony Rs) which understandably had few veg choices. Since Quincy Exchange has refreshed the interior so beautifully and is presenting itself as a place for fresh and locally sourced fare, I think one more savory veg main would showcase the bounty of produce available in the finger lakes region (perhaps something like a mushroom wellington or a hearty quiche?) read more

Three of my girlfriends and I went for brunch at the end of a girls weekend today. We appreciate delicious food and fine dining, and we all agreed this was one of the best meals any of us had had in a long time. The space is light and inviting for a leisurely meal. We started with the Lamb Kofta, Warm Bread and Duck schmaltz, and a special... Raclette en Croute. All three were delicious. I had the Shrimp and Grits for my entree, and the eggs were PERFECTLY cooked, and that broth! An absolutely phenomenal dish. The service was excellent--friendly and thorough, but unobtrusive. Service was good, but brunch offerings weren't great. We had hummus, crab benedict, steak and eggs and Quincy salad with chicken. The hummus was good. The crab benedict just doesn't work. The flavors and textures are not complimentary, and Canadian bacon is better with benedict because it provides support for all the soft ingredients. Steak and eggs is a huge plate. Make sure you like Bison, though, because that is what the steak is. The potatoes are excellent (and the only thing we all agreed tasted great). The salad included wilted greens and the chicken breast was only lightly seasoned. The rather large breast started out warm and tender, but as it cooled down it was too dry to finish. They should consider offering a sauce with it (they could also get away with a smaller breast that may not be as dry). The room is interesting but I was surprised how few they seat in a large space. The place is expensive but the portions were good sized. read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. This is the first time in 5 years that I've written a Yelp review, but I could not let this poor experience go unmentioned. In between the olives (appetizer) and the affogato (dessert of ice cream with an espresso pourover) were 2 AWFUL mains. My pasta tasted of moldy cheese (gross!) so I sent it back (and was not charged) and declined the replacement offer. Husband's squid ink pasta was so under-cooked it was inedible and left uneaten on the plate (no comment from our waiter). We did not tell him this as we didn't want to be endlessly complaining.
