We sat at the patio and it's a really nice area with TVs and some nice shaded seating. They didn't have any servers walking around and so you have to go up to the main bar to place your order. We were standing around for a bit before being helped even though there were no other people waiting to order. I ordered the Ground Chuck Norris burger which sounded really good. While it was a good amount of food, it fell short in terms of flavor and execution. The meat was slightly dry and I don't think I tasted any of the Louie dressing or bacon jam. My friend, her family & I came to watch the NFL season opener. I'm glad we made a reservation because when we showed up, they weren't taking walk ins. We ordered lots of food to share- almost everything on the menu haha. They have a good happy hour menu where the food is $5-8 and drinks are $6-8. The happy hour food portions are small but tasty. The pesto ranch that comes with the cheese curds & fried pickles is really yummy. After happy hour was over, we still ordered more food and drinks. The poke nachos were good but the poke itself was kinda lacking seasoning. The meat flatbread and wings were my top 2 foods we ordered. For the wings, you can mix and match and the jalapeño butter were outstanding. Brownie sundae was devoured immediately. Drinks were good. Service was great. They also have trivia on wednesdays and lots of people were participating. You do have to stay the whole 2 hrs (7-9pm) if you wanna win a prize. Top 3 teams get a prize. This place gets packed on Wednesday trivia night, to the point of even requiring a reservation; the first time I tried coming as a walk-in I was denied, which was very surprising to me. We were able to get seated and have dinner with a reservation the second time around. I had the burger with fries, seems like it's a rotating menu every month. It was not bad, the beef was juicy and oily, and came with pickles and tomatoes, but I don't think it was anything special. The style and types of trivia questions were not my favorite either with a lot of focus on pop culture, but it was enjoyable to participate and learn some new things. Pretty hype place to watch the World Cup! Plenty of tvs. I only ordered the chips & salsa and I was extremely disappointed. Chips were not salted. The red & green salsas were bland! We were hanging out in Normal Heights with a group of friends celebrating a birthday. The Rabbit Hole was our first gathering spot. Becky and I had heard good things about the place. It lived up to the hype. Upon walking in we were immediately impressed. The place is pretty damn huge. Booths lining the walls, four tops galore and a great front patio. The entire front of the building opens up with giant "garage door" roll-up doors. It was a beautiful San Diego Saturday, so we found a spot on the patio to accommodate all 10 of us. Service was bit slow at first, but there were just two women working the entire place and one was the bartender, so it was all up to Leya (not sure if I spelled her name correctly) to handle the rest. It was pretty busy too for 11:30 in the morning. After our initial wait and order, Leya was spot on. We were never left waiting. It was mostly just drinks for everyone, but Bex and I ordered wings for the group. We chose the Jalapeño Garlic Butter with sides of ranch and bleu cheese for dipping. WOW! Fantastic wings! Some of the best we've had anywhere. So flavorful with a great char on them and a nice heat from the Jalapeño. We loved that they were dry rubbed and not dripping with sauce. The only issue we had, which wasn't really as issue, was we ordered the elote dip, which comes with tortilla chips, but what we got was a side of sweet corn elote, that doesn't come with chips. We asked about it and they were willing to give us chips and switch it out, but we elected to just stay with what we got. Make sure if you want one or the other, that you clarify because I can see how it gets confused. Other than the at, everything was great, the service, the food and the atmosphere. Even after we finished our group hung around to chat, and they were cool with that (the place wasn't full, so we weren't taking up tables). When I'm in the area again, I will definitely eat here. I say this because in my old age I feel like (in my head) I avoid places like Rabbit Hole on a busy block because I just assume they're going to be messy with people. Not here. We watched the Padres game and sipped our drinks with ease all while carrying on a great conversation... even with the (really good) musician playing.
