LOVE THE CIDERS (4 stars) ... more than the food. - DRINKS: yum - PRICES: decent - SERVICE: depends - AMBIANCE: depends - they have two areas Their ciders helped me get through the pandemic. While everyone was drinking White Claw, I was drinking Bivouac Cider (when it was accessible). I discovered their cans before the pandemic and would buy several and walk home to store in my fridge. Well, that came in handy when we were locked down. It's been a long awhile since I've come here for some cider and surprised to try new flavors. The newer flavors are ridiculously good. Yes, you can go in and sample any ones that are on tap. Can versions for on the go and tap for sit-and-sip... obviously the tap version is amazing and more expensive. They have two areas (General Store + Adventure Lodge)... The General Store reminding me of a cafe/lounge with natural tones of cream and tan ambiance and then the other side, The Adventure Lodge, that's black and dark which is their bar. Either side you can order espresso, food, drinks. :: SERVICE :: Honestly, I've been in both areas and prefer The General Store because their service was EXCEPTIONAL with good customer service and better vibes, etc. there compared to the bar where the only customer service received is when they take your order or drop of your bill. Also, couldn't get a simple food order correct. :: DRINKS :: - San Diego Jam - Marlin Spike - Savoy :: FOOD :: I ordered plain basic Fries for $6 and even had a question about the fry recommendation with my food pairing with the bartender who even agreed that plain fries would be better. Well, what are to me weren't plain fries. FANCY FRIES ($8) - wasn't my mistake of ordering this and still was charged for it. when it arrived, it smelt clearly like garlic and didn't look plain yet she still delivered it. I told her these aren't plain and she was like "yah he added garlic when you wanted plain. did you want me to get it fixed". I rejected because I don't like wasting food like that and said I'll take them and eat them. These fries were delicious and very garlic, but was craving plain fries. Fries were nice and crispy, fried perfectly, salted and seasoned with garlic perfectly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you are not eating it with something also flavorful. CHIMMICHURRI MEATBALLS ($16) - 5 meatballs laying ontop of a pool of oil/grease (no dipping sauce of any sort). The meatballs were beef, potatoes, and chimmichurri. Flavor was flavorful but nothing amazing and just ok. Not worth the money in my opinion. You can taste the seasoning and chimmichurri in the meatball but I felt like something was missing but can't quite put my finger on it. I'd definitely will be back for mainly the ciders. I could pass on the food but if I need to eat something it will be basic as Fries. Until the next review....

Such a cool experience at Ciderworks! We all got different cider flights and roasted marshmallows! So cool and definitely one of my new favorite spots in North park! All of the ciders were really tasty, can't go wrong. Food: 4.4 Service: 4 Ambiance: 4.8 Marcels foodie score: 4.4

Very cute space for specialized cider. Women owned and san diego cider place with a large space to hang, includes dj on some nights and has good cider, desserts and food. The back has some board games and dog toys to share. The back gives a rock climbing kind of vibe especially the restrooms. People are super nice and its such a different vibe to hang out.

One of the coffee places got pretty packed so we ended up going here. I've seen it been used for a lot of things - clothing sale, major gatherings, to a restaurant. Here was our experience. AMBIANCE: Parking: Welcome to NO(rth) PARK. Street parking, metered parking, and a parking structure not too far away. Seating: Plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors (patio and dog friendly). Room for maybe 50 people. Vibes: North Park! It's the place to and in a pretty prime spot of all other North Park activities - food, clothes, coffee shops, bar hopping, etc. The spot itself is pretty eclectic. It has a hiking theme so even towards the bathroom they have these hiking activities and then they have a dj playing music from time to time. Great place to get work down, socialize, or chill. FOOD/DRINKS: San Diego Jam Mixed Berry (Recommend) This hit the spot. Tart yet sweet, fruity but balanced -- a total summer mood. Gave me a light buzz and left me feeling refreshed and happy. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Awesome! Anabelle was busy but she was sweet and friendly. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars overall. Wonderful! I enjoyed it from the live dj to the live energy of the people. They can't fix the parking but definitely worth going here as it seems like there's always something going on. TIPS: *Check out their website for events and dj sets * Bivuoac means a temporary camp with no tents

Bivouac Cider is one of those spots that's easy to hang out in longer than you planned. My wife and I came for a weekday date and had a nice and quite time. The space feels warm and relaxed, with lots of wood, natural light, and a cozy, laid‑back energy that works whether you're meeting friends or just chilling solo. We say lot of students working on their school and sipping coffee and team. It's not loud or rushed, which is honestly a win. I am a beer person as you all know, for a change we thought we will try Cider. The cider menu is solid and fun to explore. There's a good mix of dry, fruity, and more experimental options, and the flights are the way to go if you want to sample a bit of everything. Each pour feels thoughtfully made, not overly sweet, and easy to drink. The rotating options keep things interesting, so there's usually something new to try. Food-wise, it's simple but hits the spot. The snacks pair really well with the cider. We tried Polenta tots , it was crispy, salty, and shareable. They also have tea, coffee, hot, colds and non‑cider options, which is nice if not everyone in your group wants alcohol. Little touches like that make the place feel welcoming to everyone. Overall, Bivouac Cider is a chill, feel‑good spot with good drinks, easy food, and a relaxed atmosphere. Great for slow afternoons, casual catch‑ups, or when you just want to sip something good without any pressure. Definitely worth a visit if you're into cider or just want a mellow place to hang out.

Cider is delicious, as is the food. As a pescatarian, I really appreciate all the vegetarian options and customizations. I joined the Cider Club and it is great. The ciders and discount are awesome but the camaraderie is the best. They also have beer, wine, and cocktails, so something for everyone! (Even N/A!) The Mexican Caesar with a side of fries is the BEST light lunch or dinner. I keep coming back for it. The service is always beyond incredible. Everyone is super friendly and eager to help you find what you want.

Glamping Vibes & Empowering Energy at Bivouac Cider I had the pleasure of attending a Rise Up Women's Empowerment event at Bivouac Cider in North Park, and the experience was beyond inspiring--equal parts adventure, community, and charm. The vibe of the venue is glamping-meets-explorer-lounge, with cozy, nature-inspired decor and an atmosphere that encourages connection and curiosity. It's the kind of place where you can easily come solo and leave feeling like you've made new friends. The event included drinks, appetizers, and a special tour of their private speakeasy tucked away in the back--which isn't open to the public, so it felt extra special. The space was intimate, moody, and filled with character--perfect for private events or curated experiences. Bivouac has a unique layout that gives you multiple ways to enjoy the space: The Yurt side is super cozy--great for working remotely or hanging out with friends, and even has a cute little store stocked with fun and functional outdoor-inspired finds. There's also a French café-style patio, ideal for soaking up the San Diego sunshine. On the other side, you'll find the bar and main dining area, offering more seating and a great place to grab one of their signature craft ciders or cocktails. The drinks were delicious (their ciders are both creative and crushable), the small bites were on point, and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout the entire event. And as a huge bonus--the venue is dog friendly, so feel free to bring your pup along for the adventure. Bivouac is the perfect blend of stylish, laid-back, and purpose-driven. Whether you're attending an event, grabbing drinks with friends, or looking for a cozy work spot, this place delivers on every level. And the cider is delicious! There was a BOGO 50% off 4 packs so I brought 2 home!

We had the albright and omg cider, with the cider fried shrimp and the fancy fries. Everything was delicious, specifically the shrimp. Service was quick and easy and the ambiance was very chill.

    Hot toddy (delicious!)
    Tiff H.

The best thing I had here was the hot toddy! This was one of the best ones I've ever had lmao. Never thought I'd be writing a review on a hot toddy. Service was soso. They were pretty busy but still. Our guy was a bit snappy and very short with us. I just attribute it to being busy (benefit of the doubt). We ordered a burger and a chicken sammich. Both decent but not amazing. Idk. I probably would only come back to try their drinks and ciders. The prices, small/tight sitting space, and location/parking are enough to deter me unless it's too convenient to say no.

Bivouac Cider Works in North Park is one of the easiest four-star reviews I'll ever write. The atmosphere here is absolutely pitch perfect. I came in on a Saturday night when the cider house was about to close, but no worries...the restaurant next door was still open and buzzing. Service was quick and friendly and they allowed us to chill for a bit even after door closed. It was just my group of three and another couple relaxing, playing chess, and sipping their drinks. I was in the mood for cider, and this place definitely delivered. I had the pineapple pear cider, which hit the spot, but my friends went for the MVP and honestly... the name says it all. It's everything you want from a cider. It was everything that a cider should be... like you just stumbled upon a leprechaun frolicking in the fields.. or something like that They offer draft ciders and canned options, along with cocktails and beer at the restaurant. Most of their food choices are vegan or vegetarian, with a few meat options thrown in. It's clear this place is thoughtfully and intentionally designed. The furniture is cozy, the decor is on point, and the motivational sayings on the walls are the kind of empowering vibe you want to take home with you. Overall, it's just a warm, inviting spot. They even have a storefront where you can grab merch or other goodies for your home. It's a real hidden gem in the community, and I can definitely see myself coming back. The only downside? Parking, because well, it's North Park, and we all know how that goes.

Amazing amazing place! My friend took me here when I was visiting even though we don't like ciders she vouch that I would because she already had stopped in. We met the owner and she was so kind and the server was patient and went through each ciders with us. It turns out I really like ciders and the jam one I think it's called was my favorite. I need some sent to Texas ! The place is such a cool concept with the distillate and bar connected, a cafe, a work space and a boutique shop. Such a great concept. If you're not into ciders just give this place a try they have flights and tasting that can change your mind.

This place is so cute! 7/5 on atmosphere, with great music, warm temperature despite having the door open to the street, a Pac-Man table, and a tiny marketplace with merchandise. Friendly staff too! We had a lovely time sitting here and playing a card game we brought, while my partner had a dry cider from Colorado that she said was good. This place also had a water filter on the water they offered which was so nice, as most cideries or breweries just serve shitty tap water from a cooler. We noticed they have a "taproom" next door that seemed more like a restaurant vibe to me, but we loved the more chic coffee shop vibe of this side and stuck to it.

    Cider flights!

Such an interesting layout, but it works! We got to sit at a table right next to the waterfall and pond. Our server was very nice. Probably the only slip-up in service, was that our main came out when we had barely put a dent in apps. We were probably chatting and sipping on wine too much? The expo realized, kept the mains, and said take your time. Then he brought out mains when we were ready. Everything on the menu sounded amazing. My friend and I decided to both get the steak on the hot stone. It comes out raw and you have to keep track of time to cook it how you like it. They're open in the morning for coffee, tea, and AM mocktails, and stay open into the evening with their full NA drink menu. One of my favorite things: they do a seasonal rotating menu. I just went in for summer and some of the drinks were fresh‑fruit‑forward and tropical. If you want the full bar experience minus the hangover, this is it. The concept is meaningful, giving ode to rapper Mac Miller and inspired by his song "Good News" to honor him and spread awareness around addiction. It adds heart and intention to the space. I really liked the aesthetics and vibes with the super welcoming staff! I came here during the day where I was able to work remotely quite comfortably. I tried their iced latte with added cardamon syrup for $1. The latte was perfectly sweet to my taste and so enjoyable!! I WILL BE BACK!!

I had this place bookmarked for a very long time. I originally found out about it because a local…read morerancher I buy meat from occasionally told me they used their beef for the burger patties. It's located in City Heights, which isn't an area I drive through very often, but I was craving a good burger and finally decided it was time to check this place out. I stopped by for a late lunch on Saturday, and there were only a few people inside. The place has plenty of seating at the bar along with a few tables and a very casual, laid-back vibe. I ordered the Salute without bacon. I had read that they cook their fries in 100% beef tallow, and after seeing so many reviews rave about the rosemary fries, I definitely had to try them. They did not disappoint! They were super crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, and the combination of sea salt and rosemary was absolutely delicious. Honestly, the fries alone are worth coming back for. The burger was also cooked perfectly medium, just as I ordered, and was incredibly juicy. I did ask about the beef since I originally came here because of the ranch I knew they had sourced from. They told me they now use meat from a different ranch, but it's still pasture-raised, grass-fed beef. You could definitely taste the quality. The portion was generous, and I thought the price was very reasonable for the quality and amount of food you get. They also feature different burger specials/flavors each month, which gives me another reason to come back. If I'm craving a really good burger and crispy fries, I would definitely make the trip over here again.

We visited on a Tuesday Night for Family Dinner. Since we all worked late on this date, the…read moredecision was made to get burgers. Upon entering, they were so busy that no one greeted us, but we know the drill and we selected a sit down dining table vs the bar top. Tuesdays are "Kids Eat Free" under 12, with the purchase of an adult meal per child. This is such a great deal for families. There were a lot of families dining, about 5-6, on this Tuesday Night at 6p. Our server (a young man with dark hair) came to take our beverage orders and ask if we wanted apps. We passed on the apps but ordered: 1 tangerine soda, and the rest waters. He came back in about 5-7 mins with our drinks. At that time, we ordered: 2 BBQ Bacon Burgers Medium Well, and 1 Grilled Chicken Sandwich. Our food was ready in a longer amount of time than usual. We waited for about 26-28 mins for it after we placed our order. We figured that with the busy family orders, this could have been the delay. Also, there seemed to be 1 person (our server) manning the serving and the bar customers for quite some time alone. He was doing both jobs the majority of the time we were there. He was working hard. Finally, after we got our food, another person appeared at the bar and was helping in. We noticed that the chalkboard updated us and said that they have a new Oceanside location. This is wonderful news! We are happy to see this business grow. We have been customers since they were first starting up and it's great to see them thrive. Our food was good and we especially appreciate that the rosemary fries are prepared so well. It was a pleasure to dine here again.
