Such a cool experience at Ciderworks! We all got different cider flights and roasted marshmallows! So cool and definitely one of my new favorite spots in North park! All of the ciders were really tasty, can't go wrong. Food: 4.4 Service: 4 Ambiance: 4.8 Marcels foodie score: 4.4

Very cute space for specialized cider. Women owned and san diego cider place with a large space to hang, includes dj on some nights and has good cider, desserts and food. The back has some board games and dog toys to share. The back gives a rock climbing kind of vibe especially the restrooms. People are super nice and its such a different vibe to hang out.

Bivouac Cider is one of those spots that's easy to hang out in longer than you planned. My wife and I came for a weekday date and had a nice and quite time. The space feels warm and relaxed, with lots of wood, natural light, and a cozy, laid‑back energy that works whether you're meeting friends or just chilling solo. We say lot of students working on their school and sipping coffee and team. It's not loud or rushed, which is honestly a win. I am a beer person as you all know, for a change we thought we will try Cider. The cider menu is solid and fun to explore. There's a good mix of dry, fruity, and more experimental options, and the flights are the way to go if you want to sample a bit of everything. Each pour feels thoughtfully made, not overly sweet, and easy to drink. The rotating options keep things interesting, so there's usually something new to try. Food-wise, it's simple but hits the spot. The snacks pair really well with the cider. We tried Polenta tots , it was crispy, salty, and shareable. They also have tea, coffee, hot, colds and non‑cider options, which is nice if not everyone in your group wants alcohol. Little touches like that make the place feel welcoming to everyone. Overall, Bivouac Cider is a chill, feel‑good spot with good drinks, easy food, and a relaxed atmosphere. Great for slow afternoons, casual catch‑ups, or when you just want to sip something good without any pressure. Definitely worth a visit if you're into cider or just want a mellow place to hang out.

One of the coffee places got pretty packed so we ended up going here. I've seen it been used for a lot of things - clothing sale, major gatherings, to a restaurant. Here was our experience. AMBIANCE: Parking: Welcome to NO(rth) PARK. Street parking, metered parking, and a parking structure not too far away. Seating: Plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors (patio and dog friendly). Room for maybe 50 people. Vibes: North Park! It's the place to and in a pretty prime spot of all other North Park activities - food, clothes, coffee shops, bar hopping, etc. The spot itself is pretty eclectic. It has a hiking theme so even towards the bathroom they have these hiking activities and then they have a dj playing music from time to time. Great place to get work down, socialize, or chill. FOOD/DRINKS: San Diego Jam Mixed Berry (Recommend) This hit the spot. Tart yet sweet, fruity but balanced -- a total summer mood. Gave me a light buzz and left me feeling refreshed and happy. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Awesome! Anabelle was busy but she was sweet and friendly. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars overall. Wonderful! I enjoyed it from the live dj to the live energy of the people. They can't fix the parking but definitely worth going here as it seems like there's always something going on. TIPS: *Check out their website for events and dj sets * Bivuoac means a temporary camp with no tents

Cider is delicious, as is the food. As a pescatarian, I really appreciate all the vegetarian options and customizations. I joined the Cider Club and it is great. The ciders and discount are awesome but the camaraderie is the best. They also have beer, wine, and cocktails, so something for everyone! (Even N/A!) The Mexican Caesar with a side of fries is the BEST light lunch or dinner. I keep coming back for it. The service is always beyond incredible. Everyone is super friendly and eager to help you find what you want.

Glamping Vibes & Empowering Energy at Bivouac Cider I had the pleasure of attending a Rise Up Women's Empowerment event at Bivouac Cider in North Park, and the experience was beyond inspiring--equal parts adventure, community, and charm. The vibe of the venue is glamping-meets-explorer-lounge, with cozy, nature-inspired decor and an atmosphere that encourages connection and curiosity. It's the kind of place where you can easily come solo and leave feeling like you've made new friends. The event included drinks, appetizers, and a special tour of their private speakeasy tucked away in the back--which isn't open to the public, so it felt extra special. The space was intimate, moody, and filled with character--perfect for private events or curated experiences. Bivouac has a unique layout that gives you multiple ways to enjoy the space: The Yurt side is super cozy--great for working remotely or hanging out with friends, and even has a cute little store stocked with fun and functional outdoor-inspired finds. There's also a French café-style patio, ideal for soaking up the San Diego sunshine. On the other side, you'll find the bar and main dining area, offering more seating and a great place to grab one of their signature craft ciders or cocktails. The drinks were delicious (their ciders are both creative and crushable), the small bites were on point, and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout the entire event. And as a huge bonus--the venue is dog friendly, so feel free to bring your pup along for the adventure. Bivouac is the perfect blend of stylish, laid-back, and purpose-driven. Whether you're attending an event, grabbing drinks with friends, or looking for a cozy work spot, this place delivers on every level. And the cider is delicious! There was a BOGO 50% off 4 packs so I brought 2 home!

We had the albright and omg cider, with the cider fried shrimp and the fancy fries. Everything was delicious, specifically the shrimp. Service was quick and easy and the ambiance was very chill.

Hot toddy (delicious!)
Tiff H.

The best thing I had here was the hot toddy! This was one of the best ones I've ever had lmao. Never thought I'd be writing a review on a hot toddy. Service was soso. They were pretty busy but still. Our guy was a bit snappy and very short with us. I just attribute it to being busy (benefit of the doubt). We ordered a burger and a chicken sammich. Both decent but not amazing. Idk. I probably would only come back to try their drinks and ciders. The prices, small/tight sitting space, and location/parking are enough to deter me unless it's too convenient to say no.

Bivouac Cider Works in North Park is one of the easiest four-star reviews I'll ever write. The atmosphere here is absolutely pitch perfect. I came in on a Saturday night when the cider house was about to close, but no worries...the restaurant next door was still open and buzzing. Service was quick and friendly and they allowed us to chill for a bit even after door closed. It was just my group of three and another couple relaxing, playing chess, and sipping their drinks. I was in the mood for cider, and this place definitely delivered. I had the pineapple pear cider, which hit the spot, but my friends went for the MVP and honestly... the name says it all. It's everything you want from a cider. It was everything that a cider should be... like you just stumbled upon a leprechaun frolicking in the fields.. or something like that They offer draft ciders and canned options, along with cocktails and beer at the restaurant. Most of their food choices are vegan or vegetarian, with a few meat options thrown in. It's clear this place is thoughtfully and intentionally designed. The furniture is cozy, the decor is on point, and the motivational sayings on the walls are the kind of empowering vibe you want to take home with you. Overall, it's just a warm, inviting spot. They even have a storefront where you can grab merch or other goodies for your home. It's a real hidden gem in the community, and I can definitely see myself coming back. The only downside? Parking, because well, it's North Park, and we all know how that goes.

Amazing amazing place! My friend took me here when I was visiting even though we don't like ciders she vouch that I would because she already had stopped in. We met the owner and she was so kind and the server was patient and went through each ciders with us. It turns out I really like ciders and the jam one I think it's called was my favorite. I need some sent to Texas ! The place is such a cool concept with the distillate and bar connected, a cafe, a work space and a boutique shop. Such a great concept. If you're not into ciders just give this place a try they have flights and tasting that can change your mind.

Sasa P.

This place is so cute! 7/5 on atmosphere, with great music, warm temperature despite having the door open to the street, a Pac-Man table, and a tiny marketplace with merchandise. Friendly staff too! We had a lovely time sitting here and playing a card game we brought, while my partner had a dry cider from Colorado that she said was good. This place also had a water filter on the water they offered which was so nice, as most cideries or breweries just serve shitty tap water from a cooler. We noticed they have a "taproom" next door that seemed more like a restaurant vibe to me, but we loved the more chic coffee shop vibe of this side and stuck to it.

Cider flights!

I think I actually had tried Bivouac in the past but it was more than a couple years ago and I don't remember it too much because of that. However, I went here recently with a girlfriend and we really enjoyed it! Our waiter/bartender was the sweetest and extremely pleasant. He went over our menu and cider options in terms of whether we wanted full pours or flights and also briefly went over the food menu. We were coming from brunch at a different spot so we weren't too hungry but we definitely enjoyed two different flights EACH. Lol so in total, my girlfriend were able to try about 5-6 different ciders and they were all light, refreshing, and delicious. Didn't think we were going to get so boozy that day, but we did and we had fun doing so at Bivouac. Definitely need to come again and try out a couple of the cocktails and their actual food because I didn't realize it is Filipino fusion inspired, and being Filipino myself, that is super intriguing. We will definitely be back!

Are you still doing sunset trivia on Thursdays? Would like to come in for dinner & trivia and didn't know if reservations were needed. Would be at least 5 people. If we have not played there before, can we still play?

Yes we are! we don’t typically take reservations, but you can definitely join! For a group of five, I would definitely recommend getting there a little bit early so you can grab a seat.

We chose happy hour since they have such a great HH menu! Everything looked good on the regular menu as well, but we went with the HH food and kids' meals. We enjoyed two orders of the cauliflower, the cheese pizza, and the smash burger with fries--all of them were so well done! Our kids wanted the mac and cheese with fruit (which came with fresh blueberries and blackberries), and my one year old had that plus a side of snap peas and carrots. Both kids loved their food and even had enough left over for dinner the following day. We also tried the "Kiwi Be Friends" drink, which was delicious! Service was fantastic. Amelia was upbeat, attentive, and even checked in with us before happy hour ended to see if we wanted to order anything else. I was so grateful for the friendly reminder! I completely see why it's called a beer garden--it is beautiful. I loved the decor, the greenery, and the covered patio with turf, picnic tables, fans, and both table and ceiling heaters. The furniture and the bar... I loved it all! The designer really took their time and did a wonderful job planning it out. As a quick heads-up on the layout, the bathrooms are gender-neutral. It's an open room with about six private stalls and shared sinks, featuring red/green indicators near the doorknobs to tell you if a stall is occupied or vacant. I am for sure coming back for the regular menu soon!

A nice tropical drink thats not over the top tropical. Brew-nana Buzz- Very delicious, what mostly caught my eye was Liquor 43 which i love and was the perfect mixture with espresso. The banana liquor was subtle but a nice addition. My coworker initially couldn't taste the banana, but i clearly tasted it. We got a few pizzas which were great, thin neapolitan style pizza but not soggy in the middle. Im not usually a fan of real Neapolitan style pizza cause they are ususally wet and soggy in the middle these were perfect! I like the Diablo pizza the best because it was quite spicy. The potato pierogi were nicely grilled on the flat top and had a nice crisp exterior texture and placed on a bed of dill sour cream. Very delicious! We also got it with the side of spicy kielbasa, it was also nicely charred and spicy a great addition to the pierogi. The mezze plate was also a big hit. Freshly baked pita, smooth and creamy hummus with some toppings and crispy falafel. The pita bread and hummus were really good, the hummus was also topped with lentels and tasty eggplant puree. Highly recommend this dish! The dirty fries came with freshly fried homemade fries, and topped with pulled pork. I thought this dish was just OK. i guess i prefer a drier meat not the wet BBQ pulled pork. But thats just me. Tuna Tosdada was also pretty good, crispy tortilla with seared albacore and avacado, the peanut salsa matcha added a lot to it. People loved the chicken tikka masala pot pie. The crust was nice and flakey. My coworkers loved it. It was too strong a flavor for me. When I usually eat it, there's a lot of buffer with the rice, with just the crust it was too strong for me. We got a few desserts, they were both excellent! The butterscotch budino was very smooth, the butterscotch pudding was tasty and the salted caramel took it over the top. I liked it mostly because of the caramel topping. Reminded me of frozen butter beer from Harry Potter at Universal studios. The cast iron cookie was most similar to the pazooki, a cookie cooked in a cast iron pan topped with vanilla gelato cookie crumbles and chocolate sauce. There's overflow parking in the lot but I just usually park on Camino De La Reina. They no longer add the 20% tip to larger parties, service was excellent and friendly.

The ambiance is beautiful, very bright, and the patio is by far the restaurant's biggest attraction. Unfortunately, the service and, most importantly, the food were extremely disappointing. The prices are very high for food that is well below average in quality. The restaurant promises a Brazilian experience, yet the flavors are reminiscent of another cuisine entirely. The food was expensive, bland, and lacked the warmth and magic of authentic Brazilian cooking. The only thing truly Brazilian seemed to be the branding and decor. The most frustrating part is not the high price tag but the fact that the experience did not come close to justifying it. As a Brazilian, I would not recommend this place and I will not be returning. Our server, Allison, disappeared as soon as she realized we had complaints. She never came back to ask if we needed refills or if there was anything she could do to improve our experience. When asked who had prepared the food, she stated that it was a Brazilian chef. Unfortunately, she happened to be serving a Brazilian family that knows its own cuisine and found it difficult to believe that a native Brazilian would present such a poorly executed representation of it. In the end, the food was a major disappointment. If you're simply looking for a pleasant atmosphere to spend time with friends, this place may be worth considering. However, if you're seeking an authentic Brazilian dining experience and food that justifies the premium prices, you will likely leave as disappointed as we did.

I had such a great experience at Tap Room and wanted to share how much it stood out. From the…read moremoment we arrived, the atmosphere felt easygoing and comfortable. We were seated in a shaded area with plenty of space around us, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and unhurried--perfect for actually enjoying good food and conversation. A huge part of what made our visit so memorable was our server, Carina. She struck that rare balance of being genuinely warm and personable while also staying incredibly attentive. She was outgoing without being overwhelming, kind in a way that felt natural, and had a great sense of humor that made us feel instantly at ease. Carina was also very knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful suggestions without any pressure. She checked in at just the right moments and made sure we had everything we needed, all while keeping the vibe light and fun. You can tell she really cares about creating a good experience, and it shows. For food, I ordered the smash burger with onions and lettuce served in a corn tortilla, along with a side of jicama. The burger itself was flavorful and satisfying, with flavorful juiciness you want from a smash burger. The onions added a nice savory depth, while the lettuce gave it a fresh crunch that balanced everything out. Serving it in a corn tortilla was a great twist--it made the whole dish feel a bit lighter while still being super filling, and added a subtle, warm corn flavor that tied everything together really well. The jicama on the side was crisp, refreshing, and slightly sweet--an ideal contrast to the richness of the burger. My friend went with a salad and an IPA, and both were a hit. The salad looked fresh and well put together, and they couldn't stop talking about how good it tasted. The IPA paired perfectly--cold, crisp, and exactly what you'd want alongside a light but flavorful meal. Overall, everything just worked--the food, the atmosphere, and especially the service. Carina really elevated the experience and made us feel taken care of in a way that's hard to come by. I'll definitely be back.
