I was greeted with a very warm smile and sat rather quickly for a busy Sunday morning. The coffee was hot and fresh. I had the biscuits and gravy breakfast, which came with a couple eggs cooked to order, crispy bacon, and hashbrowns that were perfect. The biscuit and gravy definitely hit the spot. The servers were kind, smiling and very efficient. It feels like stepping back into a diner when I was a kid to get breakfast with the family. You are sitting with locals who know where to go to get a good breakfast. It was a casual atmosphere with pick-ups in the parking lot and boots under the tables. I will be back.

Northern pacific Beanery is cute with strong small town dinner ambiance and no frills. The prices are very reasonable, service was fast and friendly, and excellent food. I had the French toast combo and it really hit the spot. My favorite part was easily the French toast (the Texas toast in general was peppered throughout the menu!), especially with the delicious boysenberry syrup! It was the perfect balance of sweet and rich. The coffee here was also excellent. My suggestions for improvement would be to get higher quality ketchup. The WinCo ketchup they had was full of high fructose corn syrup. My friends had the biscuits and gravy and mentioned that the biscuits were definitely not house made so it could be nice to pair up with a local bakery for that. Same with the ranch- let's get some higher quality! But the syrup is perfect.

Our waitress was very kind, provided great service & great recommendations! We had the FRITES & FONDUE for an appetizer, fries were great, the Parmesan was a nice touch and the fondue didn't have a lot of flavor. Our entrees were served hot, packed with flavor & the pasta was cooked al dente. We both loved the our entrees, as we continued our meal seeing all the other entrees going to tables we are excited to come back to try the vast options on the menu. The cheesecake was delicious & fresh we truly appreciate the quality & taste of desserts being made in house- you can tell the difference & it is absolutely worth it. We will be back, it may be over an hour drive for us but a drive well worth it.

The Fungi Pizza: This is our usual go-to, but the dine-in version was totally off. For takeout, they pack the greens separately so you can control the heavy lime flavor, and they include a cream of mushroom sauce that makes it incredibly creamy. In the restaurant, they forgot the cream sauce entirely and piled the greens on top with so much lime it tasted like biting into lemons. We tried adding salt and pepper to cut the intense acidity, but it didn't help at all. The Japan Chicken: On the plus side, the Japan Chicken was excellent--incredibly juicy and crispy. This dish is actually much better when you dine in. When we get it for takeout, it loses its crunch and ends up feeling like a basic chicken nugget. Definitely order this one fresh at the table.

When we came in at around 4pm, there seemed to be plenty of tables available but after an hour, the place quickly filled up. Vibes/Service: Parking lot in the back and it seemed there was some street parking available as well. Many, many tables available with bar seating as well. It can certainly fit a larger group. Great service from our server. Checked on us often and filled up our waters. Food: Because it was our first meal here, we wanted to try out their staple dishes. -Bison Potstickers ($16): 5 pieces topped with mango and garlic chili sauce and served with some coleslaw. Rich and filling, paired well with the sauce. Would order this again! -Bison Patty Melt ($22): it was my first time eating Bison, the waiter suggested medium rare. It looked more red than I usually like but it actually was juicy and tasty-- I guess this is the difference between a regular beef patty. I'd also order this again. -Served with pepper parmesan fries which was so uniquely food. Fries were fresh. -Huckleberry Cream Ale ($8/pint) paired well with my meal.

My server knew the special menu, regular menu and drinks very well. I ordered the bison patty melt and tots for the meal and the Bridger Hazy IPA for the drink. The bartender recommended the IPA and it was excellent. The homemade tots were great. A shredded potato in the middle, nice and creamy and crunchy exterior. Feedback was there were only 5 on the plate. Definitely could use more. The bison patty met was perfectly cooked. A lot of folks overcook and dry out the bison. It was perfectly medium and juicy. Feedback would be a little char on the patty would be great. The service really tailed off in the end, it was not super busy and they had about 5 servers behind the bar. I sat there for at least 15 min until another bar tender asked if I wanted another brew and my server came about 5 to 10 later to attend to things.

Enjoyed my filet with potatoes & carrots. Potatoes au gratin could have had a bit more salt. All in all, fabulous dish. Honorable mention for the Here Kitty Kitty tequila drink & Prairie Pot-Pie which just melted with each bite. I can't say enough good things about 1864. Additionally, our server Torren was wonderful. They did not reserve a booth and did nothing to recognize the occasion. We then had to wait over an hour for food. The appetizers were good - tartare and yellowtail - but the entrees were absolutely dreadful. (How do you screw up a hamburger?) We gave them another shot last night and waited 15 minutes to even get approached for a drink, and no one came over. So we left and went to Stockman's (excellent!) 1864 is great venue that is entirely wasted.
