The Cyclone bacon cheeseburger, before adding the trimmings. So good!

We are SO glad we discovered Neptunes! Ellyce, our waitress was super nice & helpful. I ordered the Painkiller drink. I now have a new favorite! Hubby ordered the Cyclone burger & said it was the BEST burger he's had in ages! I had to agree when he insisted I try a bite! I went for the Fish & Chips with a side salad. When I couldn't decide on Ranch or House Ginger Sesame Vinaigrette, Ellyce said I could have both! She just served it on the side. But hands down, the vinaigrette was absolutely amazing! The salad you'll see in the photo is their SIDE salad, not a special order! We were stuffed. Everything was top-notch! The breading on the cod was light & perfectly crispy. French fries were crunchy and flavorful. The decor is beautiful and whimsical at the same time. It's enough to make you forget you're somewhere in the middle of Montana! If we ever get to pass through here again, we'll certainly plan on stopping here again!

It's been awhile since we've been here. Still love those pain-killers, and had to get the ahi poke tower. It's our favorite - beautifully presented and with lots of wonton chips. The fish tacos (cod) on corn tortillas were pretty decent. I appreciate the option to substitute the fries (I'm temporarily burned out on fries). We chose the fried artichokes for uniqueness and they were good, but that's a lot of them. We shared everything and couldn't finish. Service was excellent, and it's just a fun and unique place to hang out.

GF review! We really enjoyed the food and ambience, plus everyone working is nice! I enjoyed the sushi so much, and it was huge portions! I tried the popper another day which was good, but i'd go back for the tuna roll instead. Delicious!

You didn't follow the service dog rules and actually told me I didn't know the rules!! You left out the part that applies to my service dog! Won't be back and I hope you felt better stated a problem with disabled mom in front of her children. My dog did his job and my children behaved also.

When I consider the location, a five star review is all they deserve. It's like finding a sushi bar and brewery in the middle of the best small town in America! I've been a fan of Neptune's from day one in the original location. They have the "good stuff" and have never let me down when I need a cheap thrill. When I get beat down from a hard day's work out in the field and need a break, that's when Neptune's is at its peak performance. I love to come here for the deep sea treats, however, the entertainment is always a surprise, overdressed summer residents getting tipsy. And the beer is pretty good.

She also was training a new server which is great to see - that way the staff keep learning from her. The food was good! We were happy that all of the temps on our steaks were correct, and Lily also made sure to ask us to check the steaks before she walked away after dropping our food so that she could correct any problems immediately. The other huge positive is the hostess. She was all over the place and deserves praise for all she does. She's welcoming guests, bussing tables, and resetting tables all without skipping a beat. At first I thought she was a manager because she was everywhere making sure people were happy. She even helped Lily by getting waters for a table she sat because Lily was entering an order into the computer. The manager was also warm and involved. We talked at the end as my party was leaving and I gave her this feedback and some more. She was reassuring, friendly, and took the feedback as a way to improve. Thank you!

We were so excited for our meal at Montana's Rib & Chop House in Livingston! My husband had…read morereservations to celebrate my birthday after researching options in the area. The ambiance was very nice with a mixture of rustic and classy. We arrived early and planned to have a drink at the bar before our meal. The bartender was.... less than experienced. I ordered one of their signature drinks and even with the recipe book and someone else assisting him he managed to mess it up and forget a key item for it. After realizing it he did promptly bring me the missing component and was very friendly, I just wish it would have been correct to begin with. The staff asked if we wanted to see a menu to plan our dinner while we waited so we took advantage of that. Unfortunately, they gave us incorrect information about the version of the menu that was available to order from. It ended up not being helpful to look and plan early since we couldn't get what we saw ahead of time. Our hostess and waitress on the restaurant side was incredible. She was prompt, friendly, patient, and eager to please. We ordered the sirloin meals with a couple sides each and the Caesar salad for a starter. The salad was phenomenal! It kept us excited for our upcoming meal. The problem was the steak, which is pretty unfortunate at a steakhouse. I ordered medium and my husband ordered medium rare, but even after sending the steaks back twice each they were not correct. His steak was raw still and mine was rare. The server knew there was an issue because when she put the plates down she had us cut into the steaks to check their doneness both times and insisted she bring them back to get them right. She offered to bring new sides out as well so they'd be fresh when we had our properly cooked steaks as well. Again, she was great. She did what she could to remedy the situation. Unfortunately, by the time the steaks came back wrong twice we were not willing to give it another shot. The restaurant was pretty slow since it was a Monday, so I don't understand how the steaks could be sent out the wrong doneness twice. Either someone was new or they didn't care. The waitress went to get the manager for us, but they never came out to talk to us. It seemed like the least they could do to at least talk to us about the experience. Our meal was comped but we tipped the waitress healthily anyway because she really did try to make things right, she just wasn't the cook and couldn't fix the real issue. The experience was pretty lackluster for my birthday meal. It was memorable in the wrong way. I didn't even get a birthday dessert! We had to go to DQ for ice cream to have a birthday treat.

Chico Hot Springs was a highlight of our nine-day, four-state road trip through Idaho, Utah,…read moreWyoming, and Montana...and there were a LOT of highlights. Originally booked as a single night, post-Yellowstone reprieve (I mean, looking at hot springs all day long makes you want to soak in one, right?!), we ended up extending our stay another day, because of how much we all (my wife and I, plus our two toddler tons) loved this place! The hot springs alone is worth the price of admission: two pools, one smaller and warmer, the other larger and cooler (but still warm enough that there is no temperature shock when shifting between them), with a poolside bar window where you can order cocktails from the attached saloon...that's pretty hard to beat! There's also an attached restaurant, but we didn't get a chance to check it out, as it was closed by the time we returned to the hotel both nights. There's also the aforementioned saloon, which is open until 11-ish every night (basically, until everyone staggers out), with a wonderful, conversational bartender, Kelby, who was warm, welcoming and engaging: a true gem in an already glittering establishment. He also pointed out their absolutely ABSURD wine selection, indicating the presence of a fabulously stocked wine vault somewhere on site, for those with expensive tastes (not me; I'll stick to my whiskey!). Rooms are rustic, but comfortable, including the beds. We stayed our first night in a private cabin up on the hill, with two small bedrooms (queen beds in each) and a bathroom. Our second night, all the cabins were filled, so we ended up in a room in the main lodge, on the second floor, which had its own aesthetic perks, as the whole building feels like an inn from a previous century (which, technically, I guess it is...but it feels even older than that, in all the good ways). It's probably also haunted. We hope it is, anyway! Beyond all these incredible features I've mentioned, there's actually many, many more: an on-site gift shop / café, open from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM every day; there's a day spa up on the hill; you can book horseback rides from the stable near the gift shop; there's a playground for the littles behind the private garden, which appears to be tended by the James Beard award-winning chefs that make the fantastic dining hall an excellent choice for either breakfast/brunch (a buffet at $22/person, and absolutely worth it), or a truly incredible fine dining service in the evening. All those things, and I'm sure I'm probably forgetting or overlooked something. In short, Chico Hot Springs has something for everyone, young or old, rustic or extravagant: our little sons LOVED the hot springs (as did we, of course), but there's so much more to love here, that it has made a lasting impression on us all. Montana has never had much of a draw for city-slickers like my wife and I, but after our stay here, our ignorance has been thoroughly rectified. VERY recommended.

Warm bread and butter and the burrata dish to start. We ordered the almandine trout and Oscar steak for our mains. Both were delicious, steak cooked perfectly medium. All of the staff including the manager we interacted with here were fantastic. The restaurant is really nicely decorated (modern and sleek but still feels like a barn/lodge) with indoor and outdoor seating. It is a large space with high ceilings, a bar and even has a coat room. The mountain views are beautiful and there was a private party that night outside. We had a lovely dining experience, just be prepared that is expensive. They bring out an onion focaccia (cut into 4 pieces) with herb butter to start which was delicious. It was so good, we asked for a second. For an appetizer we ordered the grilled halloumi which was divine and a good sized portion. For my entree I went with the trout (whole fish that they butterfly) which was cooked perfectly and came with a trout roe beurre blanc sauce and vegetables (potatoes, carrots, cauliflower and I think swiss chard or kohlrabi). I enjoyed the dish and it was a large serving, but think it would have been better without the roe. There was so much roe in the dish that it kind of overpowered the other flavors. I think just a simple/lighter beurre blanc would have been better. Someone else ordered the lamb chops which they said were very tasty but expensive (over $70 if I remember correctly). For dessert we got the chocolate cake and our waitress recommended we try the huckleberry ice cream. It is good ice cream, but very sweet as huckleberries taste like a sweeter blueberry to me. I think most people would love it though, I am just not into sweets.

Served with grilled bread, it was the kind of dish you keep dipping back into because it's just that good. For our main dish, we shared the Brown Butter Scallops -- prosecco salt dusted scallops served with arugula pesto, herb mushrooms, and bacon & butternut squash arancini. The scallops themselves were perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, but the real standout on the plate was the arancini. Crispy on the outside with a rich, savory filling of bacon and butternut squash, it paired beautifully with the rest of the dish and completely stole the show. The entire meal was beautifully plated and thoughtfully prepared. The only small note is that the restaurant can get a bit loud when it's full, which can make conversation with your dinner companion slightly harder. That said, the lively atmosphere shouldn't stop you from enjoying a meal here. Overall, it was an exceptional dining experience. If you go, do not skip the bacon and butternut squash arancini--it was the absolute star of the dish and truly sensational.
