When I consider the location, a five star review is all they deserve. It's like finding a sushi bar and brewery in the middle of the best small town in America! I've been a fan of Neptune's from day one in the original location. They have the "good stuff" and have never let me down when I need a cheap thrill. When I get beat down from a hard day's work out in the field and need a break, that's when Neptune's is at its peak performance. I love to come here for the deep sea treats, however, the entertainment is always a surprise, overdressed summer residents getting tipsy. And the beer is pretty good. read more

What a weird cool place in Livingston. While it's not what I would expect on Livingston's main drag, this is a gem. The ambiance:), it feels like you are in the Keys or SoCal with the beach vibe. A full seafood and sushi menu, with other offerings for everyone to get what they want. The fries, A+. The music, A+, a veggie burger in MT, A+++. On a lazy Sunday the place was packed with locals and tourists alike. Our party enjoyed fish tacos, a smash burger and a veggie burger. We all cleaned our plates. read more

Blowing through town and needed a bite, I rolled down my window and asked a stranger where to eat, she said Neptune so we did. Fun funky under the sea theme. Huge staff, friendly and helpful. Menu has typical things like smash burgers, etc. but they have a big sushi and seafood option as well. The place got really full and busy fast being that Friday night. Everybody looked like they're having a really good time. We will definitely come back when we are in the area. I recommend this place. read more

I have ALWAYS had an amazing experience here. My family and I have been multiple times and the waitstaff has always been incredible. Neptune's introduced me to shrimp tempura rolls which is now my favorite thing to order everywhere, though theirs is still my favorite. The drinks are strong and the staff are all some of the kindest restaurant staff I've ever come into contact with. And they remember you! It's great to come into a place that feels welcoming and has amazing food. The decorations are also very cute! We're always sat in a new location every time and it's fun to notice all the new things in different corners of the restaurant. 20/10 would recommend. The wait times might get longer in the summer months because of the influx of visitors, but your patience will pay off! It's always a good time when we go:) read more

Rudest treatment I have ever had in any restaurant in the world. Whatever you may think, do not go here. Response of owner, below, is curious. We were not loud, did not insult staff. Initial problem was simply that after 1.5 hrs we still had no food. Rudeness was on part of manager and owner. Said we were drunk, which was absurd. As for calling police, hard to imagine how entering public restaurant could be construed as trespass, but don't worry, we're not going to try. I have written professionally about restaurants all over the world, have lived here a long time, have never experienced anything like this. Locals and tourists, be warned. Not just me, folks. We had a great meal and better service at Neptune's. We met the owner who was incredibly nice and clearly very much liked by the staff. We had looked on Yelp for places in Livingston that would be dog friendly. When we arrived on Friday night, the restaurant was busy. But the staff were able to seed us right away in the outdoor covered patio. Right from the first moment, the service was incredible! My wife got the salmon and I had a burger and both hit the spot for sure the mai tai and local beer also were just what we needed after a long day of driving. We definitely recommend this place and will be back next time we're through Livingston read more

I was super dubious about a place that serves sushi and burgers, but Neptunes came through just fine. Sushi was fresh and tasty, and while the burgers were spendy, they were sumptuous, with two Pattie's and great fixings. Glad my instincts were wrong and I'd happily come back! A colleague recommended to visit Livingston for the first time and dine at Neptune's. There was a couple ahead of us. The hostess approached us all and announced they only had 2 servers tonight and would only be able to seat them (the couple) but not us (gesturing to my aunt and me). The hostess took some menus and proceeded to seat the couple. My aunt and I felt unwelcomed at this establishment, so we left and returned to Bozeman.  Thanks to the hostess' disregard of our presence, we have brought our business elsewhere, and we will share this experience with my business colleagues and guests. I wasn't sure what to think: a sorta sushi place in smaller town Montana. Well, if I was thinking "errr", I ended up with "yeah". I really liked this unexpected find. The menu was bigger than I thought it would be -- not in size -- but in offerings. While Neptune has the usual offerings, things you'd expect in any sushi place, they add a few not-so-common offerings. twists in the sauces, for instance, like a mango horseradish, or orange juice, and it works really well. It's an eclectic menu with burgers, and salads, tofu bahn mi, a taco bowl, and brats when sushi, sashimi, maki rolls aren't one of your menu options. The entire atmosphere and decor even starting with the outside -- all with a seaside, surf, and "underwater" theme, was so out of place it was surreal. I found this restaurant through Yelp. My son has a dairy allergy and they had a lot of options to handle that. We arrived from out of town after a long day of driving. We wanted it to go, but had to go inside to order because their online system was down and not taking orders. My son ordered his burger with a vegan and vegan cheese for his dairy allergy. I got the Brussels Sprouts salad and my wife got the seaside tacos and my daughter got the tofu Bahn mi with Miso soup. It took an hour to get the order completed in the kitchen. While I waited someone else came in to pick up their to go order and it had been 2 hours since he placed his order. The restaurant had no wait at the time and was a little over half full. The hostess was as nice as could be and was trying her best. But the kitchen was just not able to keep up. As I waited I noticed some others that were eating in the dining area were also waiting a while on food as I overheard conversations to wait staff about the delay in getting food. Once I finally got my food and got back to the hotel, it seems the burger had real cheese and a regular bun. I decided not to go back, because we were all tired and just wanted food to eat. My son ate the fries only. The food itself was ok. Not great. The fries were super salty and the tacos were way too spicy. The Miso soup and Brussels sprouts salad were the only things that were decent. If I lived in town it's not a place I'd go back to. The kitchen is too slow and doesn't seem to pay attention to allergy issues. My experience showed it to be a careless operation. read more

I always worry a bit with new sushi and seafood restaurants about freshness, and Neptune's is one of the best! Delicious sushi rolls. The mango madness roll was so tasty. Spicy salmon less so but my kids loved the Gunga Galunga roll so much, they ordered a second one to share! Very fun atmosphere with a tropical or carribean flair! I had a large painkiller with a rum floater...very delicious but also very filling. We tried bombolone for dessert, so yummy, especially the donut, but so big! The sushi salad was HUGE and delicious (even with the non-fish leftovers the next day)!! The pale ale on tap was great and I got an extra to-go. The server was great! They have a huge selection of sushi. But, we didn't go the sushi route. Based upon other reviews we got the fish tacos (on corn tortillas) which were in fact delicious. The spicy sauce on top has some kick. Upgrading to the crispy brussel sprouts side was also an excellent choice. Our other entree was the bahn mi tofu sandwich which was okay, but not a show-stopper. The salad, which is another of the side choices, was a generous size. No room for dessert, but based upon our experience it would be worth trying. read more

I have eaten at all kinds of sushi and seafood restaurants on the east coast from the Outer Banks of North Carolina to Florida. Sushi in Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami. Livingston, you are so fortunate to have this gem in you town. I had Bellafonte Tacos. What a great take on shrimp tacos. The taste and presentation was wonderful. The side of fries was perfect to match a casual flare. I also ordered a California Roll for an appetizer for the table. Fresh and firm crab meat and perfect sushi. I was a little tired that night so I order coffee and Kahlua and coffee. The Kahlua is house made and wonderful. For four people with 3 appetizers and drinks the bill was $150. If this was Florida or anywhere else it would have been $220 to $250. I hope the locals will patronize this wonderful restaurant. It's something worth supporting in Livingston. read more

Man it sucks because I was so looking forward to this place! It's in a cute little town and I figured it was just going to be great all around. Unfortunately where it went wrong was at the service level. It wasn't so much our server as it was the wait time for the food to come out and, OK, our waiter did forget a few things and didn't check on us often.
