My headlights were acting up and Covina Radio Guys got me right in less than 30 minutes

I messaged them on Facebook and don't know who I spoke to. I don't want to make this long but main thing is that I asked this person multiple times how much my total would be for LEDs, specifically for my two cars and I found out what bulbs I needed and sent it to him to get an exact amount. He still wouldn't give me a total. He expected me to drive out 40 minutes to buy soemthing I have no idea how much I was going to pay for. I see this business has a bunch of great reviews, just sucks that I was one of the ones to have a bad experience. Good luck with you others. EDIT TO THE TOP REVIEW: I found the gentleman's name, his name is Carlos, he said he is just a friend trying to help out. After the above review, he messaged me again on Facebook trying to explain himself and trying to give me context to why he can't give me the total. Yet after a back and forth conversation for another 30-40 minutes. Tells me it's impossible to get the info I'm asking for, what I'm asking for is not that complicated. He keeps insisting that other customers ask hundreds of questions and don't buy. I understand as a business owner, that it sucks to answer any question for someone to not buy. All I am asking Carlos is an itemized list of the LEDs that I screenshotted I wanted, on a website that he sent me. Screenshots provided at the bottom. About 20 minutes later after I said I'd write up a review. I was going to let it slide because he ended up giving me an itemized list of what I was asking for only after he got his business owner or manager to get him the list and prices of what I needed. I said thank you for what I was asking for and the clarification. Carlos then proceeds to instigate some more. I could not post the last few messages we had but he screenshotted what he said in the beginning of our conversation (screenshot in last picture). I will continue the conversation at the end of the last screenshot in quotes since I couldn't post it. Me: That's not my issue you don't like it then don't help the business or don't be a part of it. You got into the business that requires customer service. That's what you deal with but good or bad it's business. Carlos: I'm sorry The way that I talked?... Me: Yup. You'll see it in the yelp review no worries. I'll still purchase the items. I won't go off of anything you said. Ill go in and talk to the owner myself. Now I am definitely willing to take the 40 minute drive. I'll be going in tomorrow to talk to the manager as well as the business owner about carlos and his actions. I'm definitely over reacting but I can seem to wrap my head around how he treats a new customer.

Professional, Knowledgeable and Excellent Customer Service. I called Carlos looking to upgrade my entire front end of my 2006 Cadillac SRX with LED lights. Carlos gave me a very competitive price that included all parts and labor. I made an appointment for that weekend. Carlos was prompt and on time. His communication skills are great (keep in mind he's doing the actual installs so be patient). Being a car lover I watched Carlos' work ethic and attention to detail. To access a lot of my lights you have to remove the front bumper. All clips were kept in tack and reinstalled. It's the little things that matter, like the rubber washers he added to the LED sockets to prevent moisture from entering the housing. The Radio Guys are highly recommended!!! I will me using them on all my other cars.

Was in communications with the owner regarding picking up a pair of car batteries he said he had on hand. Was told to come in "any time" and just let him know before hand. We agreed on 9am as a time to pick up the batteries. Worked a 12-hour shift in Los Angeles and then drove all the way to Covina and waited until 9am for him to open his doors. Surprise surprise he has only 1 battery on hand when he confirmed he had 2 the night before. Said his "guy" will deliver more batteries in an hour and a half. Does not say "sorry for the inconvenience" or submit to any sort of fault of his own for not double checking before making a potential customer drive that far for nothing especially after a long night shift. Stay far away from these clowns. read more

Thank you Carlos! so I bought a used vechile from a lot and turned out they sold it to me with a bad battery. I was stressed for 2 weeks not knowing if the vechile would start or shut off randomly thanks to Carlos from Covina Radio Guys he truelly helped me and doesn't know how much a blessing he was. Go here for batteries if needed. He even switched it out for me. This place beats any autozone and/or oriellys (and am a member lol) in prices. I pray abundant blessings for your business. DO NOT COME HERE - ESPECIALLY YOUNG GIRLS. I received my appt. as a gift & it was clarified with Carlos that the appt would be for ceramic. Got there day of, all they asked me was what % I wanted (no mention that it would be carbon). I didn't realize it was Carbon until after it was done / paid for & contacted Carlos who was the rudest person I've ever spoken to from a business standpoint. Now I have a tint that I didn't want on my car / his response was shocking. I would never, EVER recommend this place to anyone - not because the work was bad, but God it was the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I feel like he took advantage of the fact that I'm a young girl. read more

Reached out to the Covina Radio Guys for a quote on a radio install. I got quoted and accepted the quote. They responded with when their next available appointment was because they said they work on appointment only. I responded right away stating that I would like to book the appointment and agreed to all pricing. After that everything went silent. I messaged them 3 more times in the following days leading up to when their next available appointment was with no response. I know they see my messages because it shows that it was read. Poor customer service and poor communication. read more

Alright so I had a issue with my car, 03 mustang, starting. Called them up Carlos answered, he said he would be here in the evening to pull out the after market alarm system (done by previous owner) and also diagnose the issue at hand. He shows up pulls out the alarm system and tells me I have a transponder issue, bottom line the guy delivered. My car is roaring down the streets again. Thanks a lot Carlos. Btw all the work was done in a hr or less. So give them a call if you're having electrical issues. read more

I've gotten all my LEDs done by Carlos and everytime it is no exception for the amazing work he does. He offers amazing prices and will tender to any of your LED needs. So far I have gotten my headlights, fog lights, running board lights, and interior lights done by him And have no issues with them. I cannot be more satisfied with the great work he provides along with the customer service he provides as well. I would highly highly recommend anyone to come check this place before checking out any other place if your in the area to get and inquired for any lighting you need. He is very knowledgeable of the work he is doing and he not failed me since. I just can't stress enough about the outstanding work he has done and brought out the true colors of my vehicle. Carlos was extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. There was a problem at the shop which resulted in them having to close early. I had an appointment scheduled for 5pm. Carlos knew that one of my front headlights blew out and came out of his way to my place to help install new LEDs instead of me having to come in on another day. No extra change either. I would definitely recommend. Prices are reasonable. read more

Originally Had the Radio Guys install some real nice HIDs on my Chevy Silverado. I couldn't have been more pleased with there really neat and quality service. Couple weeks after I had purchased a viper push to start alarm online and was getting quotes from all the stereo shops in town to get it installed everybody was pretty much giving me extremely high quotes so then it clicked to call Carlos he literally was 50% cheaper then anyone out there and he even volunteered to come to me! Old school workmanship I really appreciate this kind of work and will definitely be throwing more business his way. The thing I value most is repeat business and a lot of businesses really have lost there touch. Glad I found you guys! read more

Carlos put the LED lights on my Dodge Durango which really updated the car and made for better visibility. He used pure white lights because I was concerned that a bluish tint light would look like police and get me in trouble. The pure white lights look very modern and very cool looking. The car is awesome now with these lights. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and concern for my time. I felt like some of the other shops were also too expensive and they had a fair price for the products and installing it. I didn't want to take a chance with self installing since I haven't done it before. Carlos knew what he was doing. I decided to put LEDs both on the exterior of the vehicle as well as the interior lights. I am very happy with the look now and feel that it looks much more modern and clean. he also did the reverse lights and blinker lights and fog lamps with LED. When I took my vehicle into Hye Tech Auto to try to get my flickering headlights fixed/replaced, they referred me to Carlos. They called them for me and arranged an appointment time for Carlos to come down and take a look at my car. Carlos determined that, with a flickering headlight, it could be either the headlight itself OR the ballast, and he reasoned that the cheaper/faster fix would to replace the headlights first to see if that fixed the problem (an offer I agreed with). He switched out my headlights and then showed me some LED fog-lights he offers as well, showing me a side-by-side of my factory halogen fog-lights and his LED one. The difference was obvious and I agreed to the new fog-lights, too. He gave me my old headlights and fog-lights to keep and I was on the road. Lo and behold, the rains came in a few months later and I was still having my flickering headlight problem. I made another appointment with Carlos, who came down and took a deeper look at my car. He discovered that the chamber the ballast is kept was pooling water from the rains and concluded that the heat from the ballast was causing the collected water to steam, causing the coil that controlled my headlights to periodically pop (thus the flickering). He replaced my ballast and also did some on-the-spot repairs to the ballast's chamber to patch up the holes that the rain water was getting in from. This all took place between the end of 2016 and early 2017. I've had absolutely zero issues with my headlights since. Hye Tech Auto vouched for him. I'm vouching for him. I came last week to get 3 sided LEDS on my Dodge Charger 2014 and found out that Covina Radio Guys already had 4 sided LEDS. Maura suggested to get 4 sided LEDS on my low beams, 3 sided on my highbeams and foglights and all the interior, turn signal, license plate leds. And this week I'm here getting amp 2 bass for dirt cheap. I'm so happy how Carlos works. He takes his time and double checks his work many times. Hands down one of the best installation jobs I've ever had, worth every cent. I brought them my 2011 Acura TSX and had them install a complete system. 4 speaker 2 tweeter 2 12" and 2 amps. Everything was done clean. No wires showing, no engine noise and no broken clips (some DTLA shop broke my clips before). They system sounded absolutely great perfect tuning.
