    Dirty martini

We came early so we started at the cute bar! The bartender made a nice dirty martini. The rest of our party arrived so the bruschetta was the appetizer of choice. We picked several entrees to try along with the mushroom risotto. The bolognese was probably the favorite followed by the Marsalia then the shrimp scampi. I honestly liked all three dishes. Harley did a fantastic job of keeping seven of us happy. We ended with the crepes for dessert.

The restaurant is conveniently located in old downtown Huntsville near the town square. Parking available in the lot or on the street. Relaxing, comfortable with nice decor fast and friendly staff. I sampled the fried cod with fries (basically fish and chips) ample portions of delicious cod fish and excellent crispy fries! I will return soon!

This restaurant has a great atmosphere, featuring a fantastic live guitar artist, excellent service, and exceptionally clean restrooms. The food overall was delicious; the eggplant Parmesan was very tasty, though I would have preferred a slightly larger side portion of spaghetti. For dessert, the tiramisu was rich and decadent, seemingly made with cream cheese, which made it a bit heavier than the traditional, lighter style I personally prefer. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely return!

As promised in my first review, I went back for dinner and The Raven Bistro and the Manager, Bri, did not disappoint! We eat out a lot, and there is not a better restaurant in the Huntsville area. We again ordered escargot and I think it was even better than last time. More bread with this appetizer would be nice, but the snails themselves are incredibly delicious. We also ordered a half dozen fresh oysters that weren't on the menu but Bri shared were available. They were so tasty we ordered a second half dozen. The short rib special was rich and had a wonderful tapestry of flavors. The Raven salad had carefully selected strawberries and pecans and super fresh greens. Even the side of mushroom risotto was memorable. But the highlight of the evening was the bread pudding. If you are a bread pudding fan, this is a must have and more than enough to share. Coconut cake was dreamy and scrumptious. Service throughout the night was stellar with the Manager, bartender and others stopping by our table to check on us. Ambiance is lovely and we will be back again soon!!

Walk up counter service with a menu split neatly into cold cut and oven baked sandwiches. Going with the Devito, my mind was thoroughly blown by how flavorful the red sauce and meats were all together, it had a combination of textures from the crusty bread cured cuts that made it fun to chew through every bite. My Stallone was also just such a pleasant mix of flavor with the pesto playing a bigger role on the cold cut options. This is one of the places where I feel like you can spin the wheel and get a winner with whatever fate decides. Things seem pretty easy and affordable here. Portions were pretty big here and around $12-$15 a sandwich, more than enough for a single person with some for a midnight snack later. There's a good bit of seating inside with some red gingham table clothes to eat over. It's worth the visit if your in Montgomery or after a day on the Lake!

My only disappointment was that the menu described it as coming on a crusty Italian roll, but the bread was soft with no crunch. A true crusty roll would have taken it from great to outstanding. The girl at the counter recommended getting the hot peppers so I got some on the side, and she was absolutely right--I'll definitely be adding those to future sandwiches. My husband ordered the Danza but accidentally received the Dinero. He still enjoyed it and gave it a solid 7/10. We also tried the Chicken Parmesan. It had good flavor, though it was a little too bread-heavy for my taste. Overall, the food was fresh, flavorful, and the portions were more than generous. We'll definitely be back to work our way through more of the menu.

It gives everything a cozy, charming feel with a lot of character. Parking, though, can be tricky. It's limited, and if you're wearing heels, the rocky ground and steep hill can make it a bit of a challenge when the lot fills up. We had reservations but arrived a little early, and they were able to seat us without an issue. Service was solid overall. The staff was quick to let us know what items were unavailable, which helped with decision-making. I did notice a dish being served that wasn't on the menu, and when I asked about it, we found out it was a seafood and noodle special. Two of us decided to try it. For food, we started with the sautéed garlic ricotta appetizer, which was a standout. It had a really nice balance of mild sweetness and savory flavor. The eggplant parmesan was huge and easily shareable between two people, with great flavor throughout. Honestly, most of the portions felt big enough to split. I ordered the seafood special, and while the flavor was decent, the shrimp were consistently overcooked and chewy, which made it hard to enjoy. The mussels were the highlight of the dish, though they reminded me of the frozen kind you can heat up at home. Overall, it was an okay experience. Not somewhere I'd go out of my way to recommend, but if it were the only option in town, I'd consider going back.

The Not So Good: Although happy they had a parking lot - wish there was more. The Ugly: The special of the night - seafood over pasta. Noodles were light and delicious, seafood looked fresh but everything was overshadowed by the level of garlic. I love garlic but not when that's all I taste. Such a shame because it had great potential.
