Made a reservation on Tues for Sat evening to eat and listen to music. Our waiter on Tuesday put the reservation in and specified the table we wanted to reserve. he told us everything was all set and the table was reserved. Our party of 4 showed up about 20 minutes early and we were told that the table wasn't reserved and wasn't available. one of the hostess' said "sometimes things get changed". We came early so we started at the cute bar! The bartender made a nice dirty martini. The rest of our party arrived so the bruschetta was the appetizer of choice. We picked several entrees to try along with the mushroom risotto. The bolognese was probably the favorite followed by the Marsalia then the shrimp scampi. I honestly liked all three dishes. The restaurant is conveniently located in old downtown Huntsville near the town square. Parking available in the lot or on the street. Relaxing, comfortable with nice decor fast and friendly staff. This restaurant has a great atmosphere, featuring a fantastic live guitar artist, excellent service, and exceptionally clean restrooms. The food overall was delicious; the eggplant Parmesan was very tasty, though I would have preferred a slightly larger side portion of spaghetti. For dessert, the tiramisu was rich and decadent, seemingly made with cream cheese, which made it a bit heavier than the traditional, lighter style I personally prefer. As promised in my first review, I went back for dinner and The Raven Bistro and the Manager, Bri, did not disappoint! We eat out a lot, and there is not a better restaurant in the Huntsville area. We again ordered escargot and I think it was even better than last time. More bread with this appetizer would be nice, but the snails themselves are incredibly delicious. We also ordered a half dozen fresh oysters that weren't on the menu but Bri shared were available. They were so tasty we ordered a second half dozen. The short rib special was rich and had a wonderful tapestry of flavors. The Raven salad had carefully selected strawberries and pecans and super fresh greens. Even the side of mushroom risotto was memorable. But the highlight of the evening was the bread pudding. If you are a bread pudding fan, this is a must have and more than enough to share. Coconut cake was dreamy and scrumptious. Service throughout the night was stellar with the Manager, bartender and others stopping by our table to check on us. I went to dinner tonight at The Raven Bistro in Huntsville with my husband and two other couples. This was our first time there. It was easy to find and there was plenty of parking available. I was a bit concerned because graduation at SHSU was today but it didn't seem to be overly crowded. We had made reservations a while back and our table was ready when we arrived. I would recommend making reservations. The menu selection wasn't huge but there was plenty of options to choose from and it didn't take forever to peruse a huge menu like at some other restaurants. We all ordered different entrees and everyone was pleased with their selections. I heard no complaints and almost everyone, including yours truly, ate every bite! I had the Chicken Alfredo. It was delicious. The portion was more than enough and it came with two pieces of garlic toast which was very good as well. We ordered an assortment of desserts so each person could have a few bites of the differnt ones. The only one I tasted was the cannoli. I tasted it a lot! It was so good! Our waitress was great. She told us that today was her first day. I would have never known. I was told by others that they have a very good lunch menu which I plan to try on my next day trip to Huntsville. Something to take into consideration, on certain nights of the week, they have live music. So you will want to make sure you go on the "right" night, depending on your preference, of course. We went to the Raven Bistro tonight and wow -- first impression? The ambience wasn't quite the cozy glow I was craving. But then Amanda's cheerful service swept us up, the calamari was addictive, and all three entrées came out beautifully prepared and plated. The desserts sealed the deal. By the time we waddled out the door, we were all glowing, happily rubbing our full bellies. Belly-rubbing good! Dined at The Raven Bistro this afternoon with friends. It's so nice to FINALLY have an upscale dining experience in Huntsville. Loved the atmosphere- the lighting, the seating and the bar area were very inviting. The menu has a great selection of dishes to choose from and the food was DELICIOUS. Our server, Matthew, was wonderful. Very pleasant, professional, knowledgeable and courteous. We really enjoyed our dining experience and will most definitely return. Great job! Took 30 minutes after being seated and my partner finding the hostess for the waiter to come to the table for our drink order. The other tables around us were being waited on and served during this time. The ravioli appetizer is a frozen ravioli that wasn't heated through and was cold in the center. The price of the appetizers and desserts and entrees is rather high and the portion sizes do not justify the cost. Joe's Italian and Olive Garden offer better value and quality for the price. The ambiance is nice but I do not anticipate this restaurant being open long. read more

First time here. Very nice ambiance! Table for four reservation at 5pm on a Monday night. The hostess sat us at our table. The colored glasses were already filled. Nice welcome. Nice selection of Appetizers. I inquired if the escargot came with garlic bread. Our waitress Madison said no. She also shared that garlic bread was not complimentary, so I order two orders with two slices. The escargot came out (with garlic bread) as well as the extra I thought I needed to order (but did not). The escargot was delicious as was the bread. I ordered the Lasagna. The portion was generous, I took half home. The taste was okay, nothing special. My friends ordered the flounder and the chicken Marsala. They reported the flounder was the best she's had, and continued to say so! They reported the Chicken Marsala was excellent, she enjoyed it so much the first time she ordered it at The Raven, she ordered it a second time! She's still a raving fan. We finished the meal with tiramisu. It was delicious, one friend had never tasted it, she loved it! Now for Drinks. There's a full bar and it's pretty. It's definitely a place where you could go with friends for cocktails and appetizers! In fact, it was filling up fast with a 44 to 61 year-old crowd on a Monday night! read more

I really want to love this place but I don't. The service is good. The food is just ok. We ordered the crab cake appetizer, a Caesar salad, lasagna and chicken Marsala. The crab cake was pretty good. It would have been better if they didn't burn one side of it. The salad was supposed to have shaved Parmesan but it was grated average cheese. The dressing and croutons tasted store bought. $10. The lasagna was good but needed ricotta or béchamel to break up the meat. Now the chicken Marsala. The sauce was runny and just ok. There were two pieces of chicken. One was good and one was chewy and uneatable. We brought it to Molly's attention. She said "oh, I'm sorry". Then said she would tell the kitchen. Nothing more. No "Can I bring you another piece" or Let me replace it, let me let the manager know. Nothing. We paid for food we could not eat. It's standard practice to replace it or take off the comparable amount from the bill. Or at least have the owner/manager stop by. Yes, he was there. $67 for mediocrity. I can definitely recommend this place. The food and presentation is an 11, service 11, and ambiance 11. The Chocolate Martini's and the Expresso Martinis are to die for. We had Shrimp Alfredo, Ravioli, and Fried Shrimp with French fries. Never had fries that tasty in my life. We had lunch today 12/12/25. We are seniors with experienced discriminate palates. Our neighbor who loves to dine in Houston's finest. I am a good cook and always order what I don't prepare at home .We ordered Oysters Rockefeller - Excellent! Wish we ordered more than 6! We ordered the crab cake! Grilled, maybe should have been fried but still good. Mussels Ciopini! Outstanding flavor and portions. Scallop Linguini ..generous size and portion in a creamy white wine sauce. Service from Griffin earned an excellent generous tip. The owner Alfred greeted us and welcomed us back. Rating on what we ordered excellent. Service, excellent. Price, worth what we all enjoyed.Looking forward to hearing by email on upcoming Chefs Specials. Great to have Raven in Huntsville. An elevated place to eat.
