It was amazing, I love that cheese so much. The place isn't insanely priced either. It is a nice place, of course, but affordable. We had wine and cocktails as well and they were reasonable. The setup is nice. With covid they have some separators up which is great, although it does feel a bit cramped. Lastly, our service was AMAZING. I wish I remembered our server's name to recognize her in person. She was so nice and accommodating. I was travelling with a friend who is dealing with a health issue currently, and one of her symptoms is major food sensitivity. They made sure she was comfortable and it was much appreciated. The day after eating the worst French onion soup on the planet, I bravely ordered the same dish here at lunch, with their Raven salad, and found myself hugely rewarded. Our server was charming and the setting here is bright and attractive with a spectacular-looking bar. My spouse had a steak sandwich which arrived perfectly medium rare. The soup was a revelation. Ah, gruyere! Ah, croutons of normal consistency! And the broth is made with local game, giving a unique robust flavour rather than the usual beef-with-wine. Sage is visible but subtle to taste. Shout out also to the salad with its vinagrette, equally worthwhile, and the perfect sourdough on the side. I suspect I would be happy with anything on the menu here, and the presentation of each dish was pleasing to the eye. I asked our server if she would tell their chef to go next door and show THAT chef how to make French onion soup. She fully understood my dismay from the previous night, and her validation as well as the good food mostly erased that trauma. We were there in early September. Reserving a table from 6-8 is advised as the place was pretty full. I got the Moroccan chickpea and kale strudel and it was delicious. So packed with flavor. Wife had Buddha bowl. We were fighting over sampling each other's and protecting our own dishes. Such a good combination of flavors. We heard good things about the Raven before our visit to Jasper. The restaurant looks hip, but not fine dining. We looked on yelp before going with our kids and saw they offer a macaroni and cheese or kids burger so we foolishly thought they would welcome children. When we checked in for our reservation, we double checked they had kid choices and the hostess said they can do a grilled cheese on pita bread. We asked for a high chair and the hostess rudely told us they don't have any. We have taken our kids to lots of restaurants and while nicer restaurants don't always have a kids menu, there is always an option that is suited for kids and they always have high chairs. The waitress came to take our drink order and I asked to order 2 kids grilled cheeses and the waitress said the kitchen doesn't do them after 4 pm. It was apparently a new policy they added. The waitress acted like we were not welcome there. So unfortunately we had to pack our bags and find a new restaurant for dinner. It's really upsetting they just changed the policy and they were completely unwilling to budge even though the hostess told us they could make one. Basically they didn't care about putting us in this bad situation. They were very clear about wanting us gone. If you are looking for nicer food in Jasper with pleasant staff, I recommend looking else where. read more

We came here bc of the great reviews and we were not disappointed. Pretty easy to find street parking. The restaurant is small but we liked how it was pretty quiet. Food was Mediterranean/Asian inspired. Water came with a cranberry floating on top (fancy!). We came here for lunch and ordered the coconut kaffir lime seafood pot, beef massaman curry, falafel naanwich and the late riser skillet. Food was good and portion size was perfect. The seafood pot was filled with different types of seafood! The falafel naanwich was a bit on the dry side cut was great with the curry sauce that was meant for the sweet potato fries. The late rise skillet is more of a typical North American brunch dish and the cheddar waffle is pretty good. read more

Was puzzled by how the restaurant's reception determined who to seat when. Our family of 4 (2 kids) stopped by at 5:45pm for dinner. The patio looked busy but inside the restaurant had many open tables. The hostess told us she could not seat us inside till 8:45pm and outside would be at least 1 hour wait. We did not want to wait so walked away. But then I checked OpenTable and there were reservations available for the same day 6pm, 6:15pm, etc every 15 minutes for inside seating. We literally could make a reservation right there and get seated by 6pm. Not sure why they turned us away. Went to Earl's Kitchen next door instead and had a great time. read more

Came in as a big party of 7, we ordered the bison & boar flatbread, tofu chorizo tostadas, and the pita with three dips. I only had the tostadas, but they were so flavorful! We ended up getting a variety of other things but the orders were all done to our specific modifications and were SO GOOD!!! I had the Halloumi Buddha bowl with curry vinaigrette instead of the mango ginger dressing and it was the best bowl ever. Could eat everyday. WOW! so good. i just want to say that our waitress was the kindest and most attentive and helpful waitress i've ever met/had. she gave recommendations for everything, and she seemed genuinely passionate about the restaurant and food. my drink--the mediterranean mule--was really good, and the waitress also said it was her favorite drink on the menu! we got the zusketti rose as an appetizer. it's actually an entree, but our waitress easily accommodated that. it was literally AMAZING. the sauce was so creamy, and the zoodles were super tender. coming from a vegetarian, you literally couldn't tell it was vegan. as an entree, i got the canary island buddha bowl. it was super delicious and fresh. i swapped out the chicken for falafel (super easy to make it vegetarian/vegan), and i loved the dressing. the rest of my table got: the seafood pot (also highly recommended), the halibut, and the lamb. they loved them as well! for dessert, we got the chocolate pecan tart. also super good. just as an additional comment: it was the little touches that made the experience too: the fact that water was already served when we arrived (with our reservation), the little cranberry in the glass, how comfortable the chairs were, etc.! really great food + service experience. 6/5 stars honestly. read more

My fiancee and i tried this quaint little restaurant for the first time tonight and overall had a pleasant experience. Its smaller place with simple decor and brighter lighting, open until 10/1030 daily. The service was excellent. Our waitress was helpful and friendly and always ensured our drinks were filled. There is also plenty of parking outside and its located in central jasper next to the athabasca hotel. I started with a seafood chowder accompanied by veggie bread and i must say, on a very cold winter night, it hit the spot! My fiancee and i both had the steak argentine, mine with fries and his with truffle mashed potatoes. Overall it was a good meal, however my steak was unevenly cooked. One half was mostly medium rare, and the other half well done. Not the best steak I've had but enjoyable regardless. The fries and potatoes were tasty and we both loved the raven salad! Reading the menu is like being wrapped in an embrace from someone who really wants to give you good, good food. I had trouble deciding on three or four items. The ham & Brie sandwich is better than anything in Paris. Yam fries stood on their own. I can't think of any better I've had aside from sweet potato tater tots, which are indeed hard to beat. I'm in Jasper just for the night. I arrived a little after lunch time. I came across this little restaurant after walking around town. After looking at the menu, I decided to give it a try. I had the Spicy Lamb Burger with the Raven Salad (not pictured). I also had a beer as well. The food was delicious!! The spread in the burger was phenomenal. I believe it was a spicy sriracha spread. The Raven Salad was just perfect. I wanted more! The service was absolutely great! I think there was only one waiter working and he did such a great job manning the tables. read more

So sorry, but the Raven didn't do it for us. We each started with a salad. I thoroughly enjoyed mine but my husband didn't care for his. For our entrees my husband ordered the salmon. He requested it cooked medium and it was. However the asparagus looked over cooked and the potatoes went untouched. I ordered the three pharaohs. The lamb and chicken were excellent. However the beef was barely tepid as well as the Israelis couscous. The meat was very tender but not hot. My husband loves beef and even he said it was cold and I should complain. I get tired of complaining. Why can't these restaurants get it right? read more
