Went in December 31 For a quick dinner , ordered the spice chicken sandwich, nachos, the peppers, some kind of mozzarella cheese dish, and drinks I think the chicken sandwich was really good. I also liked the peppers and the nachos. The no egg eggnog is good and a really strong drink so was monkey business It is a bit pricey but still good The wait staff at the time was really friendly even tho they seemed to be really busy , our waiter checked on us several times to make sure we had plenty of water and the food was ok. Not sure why the reviews aren't better for this bar/restaurant I frequented during my recent stay at the Hilton in Whistler. I heard they recently renovated so maybe some of the reviews are from their pre-renovation phase. No issues with the service and I tried the Guacamole & Charred Corn as well as the Truffle Fries and liked both! My favorite drink that I had every night was the Monkey Business. It is basically an alcohol (bourbon)-forward cold brew with banana flavored cold cream foam and some chocolate shavings on top. The bar seems to be pretty popular during aprés/happy hour time. Overall no complaints and if anything it was a very pleasant surprise after reading the meh reviews! read more

We attended a special Cornucopia event at the Cinnamon Bear restaurant, East Meets West, and it was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, greeted with live music and a glass of bubbles, the evening felt magical. Delicious hors d'oeuvres circulated the room, and a beautifully chilled seafood station set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. Every dish was adventurous and full of flavor, with the standout surprise for me being the cod tongue. Unexpected and absolutely delicious. The service was outstanding as well. Mia took incredible care of us; she was attentive, warm, and incredibly knowledgeable about both the dishes and the Fort Berens wine pairings that accompanied them. I would highly recommend this event to anyone considering attending Cornucopia next year. And if you're staying at the hotel, a visit to the Cinnamon Bear is a must. Was here two days in a row recently and enjoyed both times. They have a decent (albeit short) happy hour from 5-6 and also a late night one during weekdays I believe. The happy hour snacks are quite large and decent variety. Guac was a bit over processed/food service like but everything else was good. Decent drink and wine selection, great service at the bar. There are only a few bar seats and though they have servers most people seemed to come to the bar for drinks. They also have pool tables (2) which believe are free. For the hockey games (presumably other sporting events), they have multiple screens including a projector large screen and the sound on. read more

Had a lovley visit to the Cinnamon Bear Grill this weeked at the Hilton in Whistler. This is a reat restaurant in the lobby of the Hilton with a beautiful outdoor patio. The dining room is welcoming and upscale. Our server was helpful and friendly. The food was served hot and within a reasonalbe time. I ordered the lobster raviloi and it was totally delicious! Hey! This place needs a new review because it's awesome and the food is awesome and we didn't eat here till the last day bc it had 3 stars and that was WRONG! First off they have a bunch of lovely hot drinks BUT you won't want to order them bc it's so flipping hot in there! So definitely shed your ski gear before you come! They have 2 pool tables that were always taken up by the locals while we were there, seems like where they hang out (we definitely saw the girl from our favorite pizza place lol) The poutine was amazing, the flatbread was too. We also had the s'mores crème brûlée and the Vietnamese lettuce wraps and the chicken fingers (none of which I can speak to bc I didn't try them but they were quickly shoveled into mouths so I believe they were tasty. Excellent espresso martinis, the blueberry tea Was fabulous, and the service is great! They get busy QUICKLY after 6 - but kids are allowed in there till 9. Do NOT be fooled by all these old reviews. I was here previously and remembered a good experience. Not so much this time around. The dining room was empty, which was probably a bright signal from the Whistler universe to go elsewhere, but quick seating for a large party drew us in. The food wasn't great, the starter was missed, there were menu changes that created awkwardness and overall, left me with a very poor impression. I wouldn't recommend this to anybody. There's tons of dining options around, find one that will meet your expectations. This probably isn't it. read more

During our stay at the Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa in June, we decided to try out the dining options in the hotel. Originally, we were planning on eating at the Cinnamon Bear Grille but found out that their small restaurant was closed for a private party. Instead, we headed over to their Cinnamon Bear Bar which had more of an après ski lodge feel to it. To say that it's boisterous inside here would be an understatement as there were plenty of patrons who were clearly "happy" and vocal about enjoying their time in this establishment... but that's to be expected in an environment like this. The menu options here are a bit limited and we wound up ordering the Loaded Nachos ($20) and Hot Wings ($15.50). I'll say one thing for the food here... it's a fairly generous portion of nachos. Was it worth $20? Well, we didn't finish it but I feel like it wasn't bad and it might make a good appy to share with a table of friends. The chicken wings were meaty and weren't overly spicy (similar to Frank's Red Hot sauce). I was actually surprised that I didn't find any cinnamon items on their menu... would have liked to try some cinnamon-dusted beaver tails while we were here. read more

Made a reservation here and should have known that it wasn't all that it looks when we were the ONLY table in the whole restaurant on a Saturday night at 7pm. The server was great, and we truly felt bad for her with the lack of business in this place. While we were there, 2 tables sat down, looked at the menu, and left! We stayed and ordered and it took 55 minutes from the time we ordered our food until we received it. When we asked how much longer because we had plans after dinner, "I know it doesn't look busy but our cook has to cook for every person in the hotel". Not an excuse, and the food that came out was pathetic for what it was worth. The Surf & Turf was maybe a 2 oz piece of fish and a 2 oz piece of rock hard beef. Overpriced for a want-to-be fancy restaurant, and everything tasted like it had 3 tbsps of salt tossed on top. Do not waste your money and do not go here unless it's to give the waitress a new job, because she was truly genuine and attentive. read more

I'd like to preface this story with the knowledge that we started our food adventure at 9am and 2 of us had appointments at 10:30am, which is close by. We thought that giving 1.5 hrs would be more than enough time to eat and head out. I was with a group of 3. Our server was lovely, (and the reason this place got 2 stars instead of 1) she brought us right to our seats and told us how they're working during COVID. Then things went downhill. We ordered coffee and tea. It took 10 minutes for it to come. We put in our order and then waited again. At the half hour mark (after the 10 minute wait, so technically we're at 40 mins) we asked about having a mimosa. It took another 10 minutes. Still waiting for our food. When the server comes by to tell us it wont be much longer we ask for the bill with the food because now it's getting near crunch time. Our food finally comes seconds before 10am. The eggs are greasy, the sausage is sad, and I had so few hashbrowns I actually asked if I could have more. The server apologized, but told me that it would be a longer wait. Ain't no one got time for that when you have an appointment to get to. So we scarf our food, which by this time I've tasted and I'm thinking it's not worth the $20 I paid. So we try to get her attention to pay. We wait another 10 minutes and still nothing. I just cant wait any longer and HAVE to leave. We had to get the other person to pay the bill because we HAD to leave. If you're on a time crunch just dont go here. read more

We went to the Cinnamon Bear Grille for Valentine's Day dinner. We wanted something nicer than a burger joint but not too fancy and the Cinnamon Bear was the right compromise in between. The dining room was nice, pretty quiet considering the noisy bar next door, and the service was attentive and friendly. We started with the Mussels and Garlic, and my husband had the NY strip and I had the Salmon. All the dishes were good though none were particularly noteworthy; the mussels were big and juicy but could have used more garlic, the strip steak was well cooked but wasn't a great cut of meat, and my salmon was dry/overcooked. I did enjoy my homemade ginger and lime soda, and the cheesecake sundae we had for dessert was delicious. Overall I would say it was fine but nothing special. read more

We added CBBG to our list of "must-trys" in Whistler when was saw the head chef face off with Mario on "Iron Chef" and win (at least, that is what my husband's recollection is). For the month of November, the restaurant offered a 3-for-$30 meal that consisted of a starter/appetizer/entree combo. It was like a crappier version of Seattle's 30-for-30 in Whistler, without the extra menu items you could pick from in case the 3-for menu wasn't all that appetizing. That was a real bummer. The food was good, though I would have much preferred that my meal came out hot, not lukewarm (The server blamed the kitchen, naturally). I was bummed to hear that after waiting 10 minutes for our waitress to even say hi to us that they were out of the one appetizer that I really wanted: the clams. Instead of giving us more time to make up our minds, she went on to take orders (I gave her the evil eye... Girl needs time to pick something new!). I ended up getting some blue cheese/yam filled pastry wrapped in Phyllo dough as my starter, shrimp and scallops for my appetizer, and for my entree I got the crusted halibut, (which by the way, was the biggest chunk of halibut that I have ever been served in a restaurant). We couldn't tell if our waitress was overworked, if she had too many to drink and was still recovering - or perhaps she just wasn't that good (hey, anything is possible). She told that that she would bring us out bread when we ordered, but got our starters first (we eventually had to ask multiple people for bread). We were told each time that the bread takes a while because it's baked when ordered. So the bread eventually comes out of the kitchen too, but like the food, it was also just slightly warm. Honestly, I don't think I had any food at that was actually hot, unless you count my spicy shrimp and scallops. Just before we're about to order dessert, my roommate's girlfriend tells the waitress that our food was not hot and basically how they kind of sucked. Figuring that dessert was no longer an option (I don't want someone's spit on my chocolate souffle!), I chimed in with "Yeah, it's like it has been sitting in the kitchen for a while." The waitress apologized and gave us 20% off our meals. When all was said and done, our bill (just the mister and myself) was $73 including tax; in addition to our meals that were 20% off, we got a soda and two flights of red wine. Reasonable. Not great, but reasonable. And I'm adding one star to the waitress who did the "right" thing by giving us a discount. When you're in Whistler there are plenty of great restaurants to choose from, so in the words of Tila Tequila, CBBG really needs to "step it up" if they want to compete. read more

The Cinnamon Bear Bar provided me and my brother a great way to end our night of partying as we stayed at the Whistler Hilton Resort and Spa. Cinnamon Bear Bar Pro's: 1. The staff was very friendly. The first night we went to the Cinnamon Bear Bar, they were observing Earth Day so all of the lights were off and they only used candles. The bar was extremely dark but despite the lack of visibility, the waitress was very understanding and went through the menu with us. 2. Awesome drink specials. The bar always has a drink special. Every day we went, we got at least one of the drink specials. It was good stuff. A Jager Bomb one day and a bloody mary (wasn't the name but this is what it was). Cinnamon Bear Bar Con's: 1. The bar is in the Whistler Hilton Resort therefore the only people who go to this bar are either locals or Hilton guests. The bar is tucked away from the Whistler Village so no-guests wouldn't go that far to look for a place to drink. 2. The Pique which is a local events magazine provides tourists a way to see what special events are going on in the area, the Cinnamon Bear Bar isn't in the Pique. This is a Con but can also be a Pro as this bar is not always busy. Unfortunately, most people looking in the Pique to plan their night wouldn't go to this bar. Overall, this is a cool bar. I would recommend everyone to check out the Cinnamon Bear Bar. This is also a great place to start your night or end your night. read more

This is by far the best lounge in Whistler. Filled with more locals than tourists - strange for a hotel bar - the bar offers great nightly drink and food specials that entice the biggest penny pinchers to come out for a drink or five. During hockey games jugs of Canadian were only $10. Best price in town. Just make sure to sit near the hotel entrance. If you sit on the other side with the door to the outside you WILL develop hypothermia and most likely die. Or you know, be really cold. read more

This I think was the highlight of our trip to Whistler, because unfortunately there was nothing open except skiing for the season. This meant we had a chance to work through many of the Whistler restaurants. We landed here at the grill part of the Cinnamon Bear for my friends 30th birthday dinner and it was wonderful. They have a prix fixe menu that is $39 for either a first and second course plus the main course, or a first course, the main course, and desert. We all decided to do desert and share because the options looked so wonderful. I ordered the crab cakes, the snapper and the pumpkin "pie" (I will explain the quotes later.) Both the boys ordered the lamb entree, and my other friend ordered the trout. I was a little worried that the crab cakes would be the sort of low quality ones you get in most restaurants. I don't know what it is about crab cakes that just have this... weird quality, so much so that you know it was canned crab instead of fresh crab or they were previously frozen, etc. These crab cakes were obviously very fresh and very good. The sauce they were paired with was also amazing. Both Cam and our other friend had salads and enjoyed them immensely, and our other buddy also had the crab cakes. There was a little hitch while we dinned at the Cinnamon Bear. I guess there was a chef in training in the kitchen. When everyone's meals came out, the server let me know that the head chef was not happy with the way my snapper was prepared, and so he was doing it again. It didn't bother me really; I was trying to work up some space in my stomach anyway and a little extra time didn't hurt. When my snapper finally came out, the server also let me know that the chef took it off my bill. I was stunned because normally places don't bother with that; if they got your food out to you right, even if it took a little longer they seem to be fine with that. We really appreciated the care and consideration that the chef and the staff showed us. To top it off, the snapper was fabulous, so it was totally worth waiting for. The boys pigged down their lamb entrees and my friend seemed to enjoy her trout (she finished it at least!) When it came down to desert, we had a bit of a mishmash of things. As I said, I ordered the pumpkin "pie" which in reality wasn't a pie at all but a chocolate pumpkin mousse on a pumpkin crust. Out of the four deserts we got it was most definitely my favorite. We also had peach cobbler, chocolate lava cake with banana gelato (my second favorite!) and a berry flan of some sort. While they were all amazing and gone in seconds, the mousse was, in my opinion, the best. This isn't your sort of get in and get out dinning experience; do expect to be there for a while. (We were there for 3 hours). Service was impeccable, but our food was slow to come out. Even though we had quite some time in between courses, our server was great about making sure we had enough water, bread, and booze (for the boys) to keep us occupied in the mean time. Fortunately we weren't in any hurry, and we were able to enjoy one of the few quiet restaurants in Whistler. Because the Cinnamon Bear is so far off the beaten path (it's sort of tucked away in the Hilton Hotel off the main walk) it seems like it's not getting the off the lift crowd, which we were very happy with. The bar next door was hopping though; we heard many chants of "Chug chug chug!" and a lot of cheering. It seemed like they knew how to have a good time over there. All in all, around $200 for four people to have a very nice meal, and a good time. I would highly recommend stopping at the Cinnamon Bear Grille if you're in Whistler and want to have a nice dinner. read more

After several bouts of non-existant service and unfriendly staff I'm dropping off some stars. I'm miffed about the service because we had to wait until we flagged down the staff. Once I had to flag down a manager to get someone to serve us. The worst was waiting 20 minutes when the place was practically empty. However, someone must have gotten the message and there seems to be new staff who actually want to serve customers! I'm taking some time off this place and I've found other places to visit. This used to be the buzziest bar in Whistler when I did my season there about 3 years ago. The reason? All the staff (including me) and their friends hung out there because we got big discounts, giving it the super duper local fun feel. Unfortunately, it is now extremely quiet (also due to the recession?) but I hear its because all staff are banned after 9pm. I understand that the bar needs to make money, but surely you want to keep your reputation as a fun bar though right? Still the best yam fries in town. great for games night. The very expensive filet mignon was two hockey puck pieces stacked on top of each other, and both cooked to medium despite the order for medium rare. the cinnamon bear is one of my favorite apres spots in whistler. it's hidden despite being steps away from the whistler gondola, so it doesn't see the same crowds of yahoos like the longhorn. they have snack mix at all the tables when you order drinks, whichi s a nice touch. i disagree with Kate P's review of the nachos. i've ordered them a few times and i've always been really satisfied. they're great to share with a big group. the drink list is decent and the prices are pretty modest for a bar located in the hilton. service is prompt and the atmosphere is really nice. read more
