"Welcome to the only bar in Naples that didn't take reservations on Valentine's Day," the bartender greets us, as we turn into this place by almost by accident. We were walking between two locations and stumbled upon a mostly-hidden outdoor bar and decided to stop in. If we weren't paying attention we would've walked right by. By chance we arrived just as they opened. By the time we left the lot was full and most seats were taken. Bartenders are nice and prompt, making good drinks and excellent conversation. They have live music regularly. Nearly all seating is outdoors with a few indoor tables. Definitely nice to find somewhere outside of the beaten path, avoiding tourists to enjoy. I have been at this restaurant many, many times. We were there last night and it was disappointing. The mojitos, were ok, they should be made with sugar, not simple syrup, and another liquid that was super acid. The crab app And sauce was fantastic, and so was the manhattan clam soup. The ribs that were part of the Summer fixed menu, were bland, may I suggest a good burgundy wine base. There were exactly 4 tables it was early dining. They jammed us all in one corner, the corner 4 top of women, my husband and I in a two top, next they seated another two top. Smh...spread the people around when u can for privacy. Great atmosphere with live music that wasn't too loud. Meals were amazing including a simple pasta dish for my 2 year old grandson that he devoured. We had the Fisherman's catch, Seafood scampi and Caribbean duck and all three hit it out of the park. I came in on a Friday at 5.10pm mid august so I just missed happy hour however I still wanted to come and stay as they promote live music after 6.30pm. The parking lot was full. Even the overflow lot was full. It's insanely hot and humid and I came to realize their place is 95% outdoors. Inside there were only 3 tables and it was not cool as the space was open with the bar. Outside is gorgeous with all the plants but the heat makes it impossible to sit there. Inside it's hot too and it reeks like beer. So I decided to leave. If I will spend on expensive prices then I need it to be in comfort, this place is not in the position to charge what they do in my opinion. If you're looking for a tropical night out, TRM is it! From the indoor-outdoor seating, to the island themed decor and food, we enjoyed our dinner from start to finish. I had their signature key lime pie martini which surprisingly wasn't too sweet, but very strong. Next up were the appetizers: calamari, crab cakes, and French onion soup. The crab cakes are a must order-- crisp, flavorful, and full of crab. For dinner I had the curried chicken which was a nice mix up to a classic chicken and rice dinner. However, the mahi special was the star. With poached mahi covered in a crawfish etouffee, this special blew us away. The service was quick and kind. The atmosphere gives you the SW FL feeling with the decorations and table settings. The menu is limited but still includes all the varieties you want including Vegan. I respect this type of menu which says, I do any of these choices very well. My lady started with one of her favorites, the clam chowder, and the first thing she mentioned were the real clams in the soup with a really delicious flavor. I had the Macadamia Nut Goat Cheese Salad which had these poached pears giving it a sweet taste that totally complimented the Salad. She ordered her "go to," the Salmon, which was very nicely cooked and tasty. I had the Roasted Duck and if you like Duck at all, then you have to try this one! I was blown away. We were really excited to try this restaurant because our friends had raved about it. First of all, service was great. Two of us started with Cosmo drinks and they were disappointing. Another had an old fashioned which he enjoyed. The Johnnycakes arrived at the table and they were hard, dry, and tasteless even with the yummy butter on the side. We were given a replacement after we told our server but still not anything to write about. For starters we split the Palm Man's platter which had chicken pate, hummus, and cheese. The cheese was the star and we would have preferred more of it. Hummus was basic and pate was meh. Seafood chowder of the day was supposed to have lobster and clams and out of 3 orders we all could not find much of anything. Definitely too much corn starch. For mains my hubby enjoyed the chicken and those that got the ribeye loved it. My Mahi didn't look appealing and the lobster risotto was a bit watery so not much flavor in this dish. From the hostess on seating, to the room where we dined indoors, the casual elegant feeling and ambiance to of course the food and the entertainment for the evening. It was great!!! Especially all the staff here at the restaurant. It was always a pleasure. Our server was Kristine and she was the best She was very professional, personable and helpful with the menu's choices. Two complimentary sugarless beignets in place of bread was placed on the table with a semi sweet side of butter. Enjoyed that. The generous House salad my wife chose was ok. I put some of those lettuce leaves in my Burrata appetizer and THAT was great. The Burrata was the freshest and creamiest. Scooped up a lot of that oil base with the beignets. Enjoyed that immensely. For $100/per person at the end of the day, this was an absolutely abismal experience. Let's start off with the basics - when we got there (a rainy night) we had to wait about 10 min for someone to come up to the host stand outside and about 5 different waiters came by and told us that "someone would be with us in a minute". Then we sat down, and started looking at the menu and noticed that some of us had a different menu - which the waiter laughed and told us that one was their old menu and to not pay attention to it but then still didn't take it away? So we tried ordering a dish that no longer existed... Ok, then we got drinks which were fine. The appetizers were beyond average - it's hard to mess up shrimp cocktail and so that was fine and the burrata was ok but came with one slice of tomato and no bread. Not sure who eats a giant ball of burrata with no bread??? The pate platter was also weird bc it came with hummus and goat cheese as well and they gave us a total of maybe 6 small pieces of bread for a bunch of spreads and it wasn't enough. We ended up asking for more bread and the waiter apologized and brought us a basket of corn bread puffs which he should've given us when we sat down and forgot... plus I did mention the corn allergy. Ok now onto entrees - the steak caribe was fine, but EXTREMELY charred, parts were not edible. The catch of the day was pretty decent. The tuna dish was fine. The duck was cooked perfectly but the sauce was so acidic it made it almost inedible. Lastly the goat cheese salad was very basic and lackluster. All the vegetables that came with the entrees were just steamed or boiled and not even seasoned. All that being said, we came here for my brothers birthday, and as we sat down the table next to us also had a birthday in which the waiter told them "birthday boy gets free desert" - so we decided ok let's get dessert since Alex would want that: plot twist they put the birthday candle in a dessert that wasn't his and still charged us for it. We ordered the guava bread pudding which was the best thing there, the key lime pie which was decent and the chocolate torte. Overall, the service was not great or very attentive (and even though it was a Saturday night it wasn't crowded at all - many empty tables and no one was outside) the food was subpar, and the ambiance wasn't all that great either. They marketed live music yet the poor guy was playing music outside to no one bc it was chilly and rainy and the eye could have easily at least opened a window or moved him somewhere closer so we could hear him but nope. Ugh, needless to say we will literally never be going back here and it's a shame because it has the makings to actually be a good place. read more

I ate at this restaurant several years ago with my family based on a recommendation. At that time, we were underwhelmed with the food, but recall it had a nice outdoor area. My wife and I along with some friends decided to give it another chance last night as the reviews on Google still seem strong. I believe I am making an understatement when I say this was among the worst meals I have had in Naples. The only redeeming qualities of this restaurant are the unique quirky atmosphere and our waiter was nice enough and attentive. Incredible ambiance with amazing food. Went after seeing the Sat. matinee of Dial M for Murder at the Gulfshore Playhouse, which was great too. Had mahi mahi in a mango crème sauce served with warm johnncakes as the bread. The chef is from the west indies and all dishes have a delicious tropical flare. The band "Lords of Bayshore" started early and played 70's era music. This is our first dinner and second happy hour. It's a gem. read more

My family and I and a friend went to this restaurant last night. We were seated outside the patio with a heat lamp. The outside patio is beautiful. There was live music which is great. My parents and I ordered the French onion soup. It was the best French onion soup that I have ever had! It wasn't too salty which is a plus. My mom and I ordered the portobello tower and it was so good! My family friend ordered the salmon and said that was delicious. My mom, my family friend ordered red wine and it was so good. In town for a golf outing and found this place off google. Reviews were great and described as "a hidden gem. This place didn't look like much but the parking lot was full so we gave it a try. We were so pleased with our meals. The duck was fantastic as was the salmon. Cocktails and wine were great. Service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant is a little converted house with a fine yet casual vibe. Linen on the tables but funky chairs. Very eclectic in the decor with a Key West vibe. The chef selections were fresh and well prepared. We will be back next time we're in Naples. Look forward to recommending this place to friends and clients. First time visiting. It was not my cup of tea. I order a Paloma which was not a good drink. They bring out Benitez with strawberry butter which were tasty. I moved onto a salad with goat cheese and macadamia nuts with a truffle vinaigrette. Our main meal was chicken, sauage, whipped potatoes with a light sauce on it. I enjoyed this. First time to Macaw. We read many good reviews and gave it a chance. Our mistake. First, the whole restaurant was FREEZING with many high power fans blowing from all directions. We sat at the bar. The server was much more interested in talking to her friends than paying attention to us, the customers. My wife asked about a relatively expensive $18 Pinot how long it had been opened. No answer. The server poured the dregs out of the bottom of the bottle. She seemed to realize it was not a full pour. Looked around and did not open a new bottle to add to the carafe. This place is geared towards large crowds and individuals who like to sit around the bar. The nicer outdoor seating areas are for reservations only. It's a refreshingly lowkey restaurant with no airs and no cares. I feel weird writing a review about it...it feels like I'm writing a review of my in-laws' cousin's barbecue. HALF CHICKEN: Not dry at all! I hate dry chicken. It's not as big as I thought it would be, it's more like a thigh and leg of a chicken but the portion size fills you up fine. Seasoning is not impressive, but it was a solid bird. I would eat this if I was sick and hated chicken broth soup. STEAK FRITES: they get their meat from Jimmy P's. whatever you normally order you steak at, order it one level more rare for the best experience. I thought it was well seasoned. They serve it on top of gravied fries that complimented the steak really well. It felt like the first time I tried dipping fires in a frosty. Unconventional, but definitely a thing I would do now. BOOZE: fast drink service! The Pain Killer is better than the one at Tommy Bahamas but it's still a strong drink that prioritizes alcohol over taste. Based on how not-bad this naturally bad tasting drink was, I'd say the bartender is good and puts love into the drinks. I'm excited to try the rest of the drink menu based on how this drink was executed CHOCOLATE SILK PIE: They make this and the bread pudding in house. Too much coco for my liking (and I like dark chocolate), the texture was wonderful, but I would never get it again on account of the bitterness. Saving the BEST for the last; BREAD PUDDING. Fantastic!!! It comes with a liberal amount of guava in it and a scope of ice cream. I'm coming back for this! Texture, temperature and presentation were perfect. The bread was not soggy or anything you might be afraid a bread pudding might be. This is a gourmet item. Service: small amount staff but highly functional. and the ones that interacted with us were super pleasant. they have a family dynamic and a lot of regulars. We got our orders served within a good wait time. Setting: it feels a little grimy in the bar area, but we had a amazing view of palm trees and sky. Well shaded. Yesterday we had early dinner The Real Macaw on our first visit to the restaurant. I honestly never heard of it before and we went with friends who had been there. We really enjoyed our dinner. The atmosphere and decor are both Old Florida and Caribbean. Together, they give one a sense of casual elegance which we like. The food and service were both very good. There is an open bar area and outdoor seating. Most of the diners last evening were in the a/c dining room in the back due to the hot steamy weather. Tables are a bit close together as the room is not that large. There is an early dining menu with a price fixe of $28.00 p/p with two courses. Good value and a good number of selections. The prices on the regular menu are reasonable. The four of us ordered from the early dining menu. I had shrimp scampi which was delicious and flavorful with the 6-8 shrimp served over anger hair pasta in a white wine sauce. My appetizer was a wonderful crab cake ($6) upcharge. It was savory but on the small size. Two in my party had calamari appetizers and roasted salmon which they liked. Key lime pie and coffee rounded out the dinner.
