Such a delightful dinner! My husband picked out this restaurant on our first night of vacation in Naples area. We are both adventurous eaters but I do have some dietary restrictions. It turns out that we were talking to John, the owner, and he gave some great recommendations for me (and did note where an ingredient could or could not be left out for me). We snacked on plantains with black bean dip and an incredible octopus salad while waiting for our dinner. I cannot say enough good things about the octopus salad - the chilled mild octopus was complimented by the briny olives, sweet onion slices and salty bites of potato. I prefer to eat smaller meals throughout the day so I just ordered the beef empanadas small plate for my dinner -- knowing I would also get a bite of my husband's dinner too. He ordered the snapper, which they ran out of and substituted branzino. Very good! The malanga chips were more like fries and were a great surprise - never had them before and we enjoyed them. The branzino was perfectly cooked and the rice was extremely flavorful. My only regret is that we were not in Naples longer to make a return visit to explore the menu further!

Had a hankering for paella and this place more than satisfied! Wonderful service and the food was amazing!

My husband and I had our first dinner together in Naples and this was the perfect meal. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. Everything we ordered was beyond delicious. Started with an appetizer of the cheese fondue with plantains, husband ordered the lemon chicken breast dinner and I ordered the Argentinian. We had a beverage of coconut lemonade. This was one of the best meals we had ever had, and if we come to Naples again, we would most definitely return. Thank you such a superb meal and experience!!

This area of North Naples has very few innovative, top end restaurants, so I was very excited when Islas Modern Caribe opened last week. The restauranteur/chef knows his stuff, as he is also the owner of the one and only El Basque in Bonita Springs. Islas Modern Caribe is focused on the flavors of the Caribbean. The owner/chef John stopped by our table to introduce himself, gave us a complementary black bean hummus amuse-bouche, and explained the restaurant's concept. He also explained that he had plans to do some interior renovations to make the atmosphere more special. Our server Rosie was very attentive and explained all the menu items in more detail. We ordered and shared several items: Shrimp Rellenos - this appetizer was very unique, and consisted of 3 "cups" made from crisp plantains and filled with shrimp and a tomato salsa. Jerk Coco - jerk chicken in a delicious, deeply flavored sauce, served with coconut rice and spinach. Crispy Pargo, which was a pan fried red snapper. It was very crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The portion was quite large. It came with cilantro rice. This was a favorite! Ceviche Caribe - it was good but not our favorite. For a newly opened restaurant, the ambiance, service, and food were all flawless and we had a great evening. Highly recommend this awesome new restaurant in North Naples! TIP: It's tucked in a plaza behind a plaza adjacent to Imperial Golf Estates and is a bit difficult to see if you're not familiar with the area. There's plenty of parking in the lot in front of the restaurant.

Excellent customer service by chef & host! Food was absolutely delicious & amazing!!! Perfect to the tastebuds for me, my mom, and husband. We will definitely come again. It was quiet since it was late & we were lucky that this local gem was open.

The atmosphere is cozy with warm lighting, making it a good spot to relax and enjoy a meal. There is also a bar area with TVs, which felt a little different from the typical Italian vibe, but it did not take away from the experience. Service was friendly, but it was a busy Saturday night and you could definitely feel it. Everything moved a bit slower, and we had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes for the check at the end because our server was not around. We started with the meatballs in red sauce and really enjoyed them. Simple, flavorful, and a great appetizer to share. One thing I was not expecting was being charged for the bread. It was fresh and good, but it is not something I usually associate with Italian restaurants. For the main course, we had the cacio e pepe. The flavor was there, but the sauce was a bit too liquid for my preference. It is a difficult dish to get right, and while it was good, I think it could have been a little better. The tiramisu was absolutely the highlight. The balance between the cream and the ladyfingers was spot on, and it ended up being my favorite thing we ordered. Overall, good location, nice atmosphere, and solid food. The tiramisu is the one thing I would absolutely come back for.

We had a great table and our server came with our menu and the wine list as well as some crusty bread. There are numerous salads, appetizers, entrees, and even pizza on the menu. I started with a Caesar salad, which I thought was super pricey, but was very good. I was able to enjoy it before I ordered my entree. I chose the gnocchi and a glass of wine. The gnocchi came out in minutes and was some of the lightest, fluffiest gnocchi I have had since New York City ages ago. Good choice. The server wasn't rushing us, but let us enjoy our meal at our pace, which was refreshing. Overall, nice experience.

The veal was paper-thin, incredibly tender, and still on the bone. It wasn't overly breaded at all, and it came with a side of pasta that made the portion even more impressive. The amount of cheese on top was perfect--just enough to enhance the dish without overpowering the veal itself. Beyond the food, the restaurant feels genuinely Italian--like being transported straight back to Florence. It's small, intimate, and cozy, with both indoor and outdoor seating options that make the experience even more special. Service here has and never will be a disappointment, you always feel like family! On a previous visit, I tried the lobster mac and cheese, and it was equally delightful and incredibly flavorful. Definitely not for those with claustrophobia!! We were initially told they don't take reservations, yet several parties arrived claiming they had reservations. Meanwhile, regulars appeared to receive preferential treatment and were seated ahead of others. As for the food, the fried calamari, shrimp, scallops, and smelt were the highlights. All crispy, fresh, and very enjoyable. Unfortunately, the marinara sauce tasted watered down, and while both pasta dishes were cooked perfectly al dente, they lacked seasoning and flavor overall.
