I referred 3 close family members to open consignment accounts, and each account was set up with the direct, in-person assistance of one of the store's luxury managers, who visited our home to help with setup and was present for the consignment intake on every account. Everything was done transparently and never against any policy we were told about at the time. Despite this, all 4 of our accounts were closed without explanation. We have total $850 site credits across all 4 accounts which are unused and now lost. When I raised the issue with the employee who helped set everything up and with the store manager, both told me they would help to try to get the accounts reactivated. Instead, the only response I ever received was a corporate email stating my account was closed, that I no longer had access to any services, and that I was not permitted to contact any employees or visit any store, consignment office, or pop-up location. Outrageous. To make matters worse, when my consigned shoes were returned to me, the original shoe box was badly damaged -- which affects the resale value of the item. I have before and after pictures with timestamps as proof. Luckily I also saved the message history, documenting the account setups and consignments, facilitated by their own staff. To be treated this way and to have my item's box damaged on top of it -- is unacceptable. I'd think twice before trusting this company with consigned items or referral programs. read more

After confirming they were compensated by UPS, I was still charged return fees and given the lowest possible payout. On top of that, I never received site credit for multiple reconsigned items, and a previous credit expired while I was waiting on their investigation. Overall, the process lacked transparency and accountability. Between lost items, incorrect charges, and missing credits, I wouldn't trust them with high-value pieces again. read more

Selling to this place is a bad experience. I spent at least a couple of weeks arranging with their rep for a valuation appointment to sell my high-end designer bag. The first bad experience was that the rep was in California and scheduled my Dallas appointment for California time...then canceled it without asking me. When I finally did get the right appointment, I drove the 45 minutes into Dallas based on her provisional valuation. The store is small, claustrophobic, and a bit shabby. The "valuation" ended up taking just a few minutes, in a small, curtained-off room. I was offered about half of what the rep promised for a pristine designer bag, which sells for over 3 times that amount at the bag's local boutique, very close by. It was a total waste of my time and, either intentionally misleading, or a total rip-off. They found nothing wrong with the bag...it is barely used and in pristine condition, and I had the original tags, accessories, and receipt. What they offered was a fraction of what all the other designer resale sites offered me. Had I known that, I would not have bothered with the trip...but I was assured by the rep that I would be offered twice as much. When I asked the clerk if what I was seeing is all they had, she too seemed offended, dropped her smile and gave me a cold shoulder. As one who has put beautiful clothes and a Gucci watch with their Dallas rep. They sold the skirt w/o the top, with no permission from me. Being new with these folks all seemed right as rain. Filled all the paperwork out and let this young girl walk out of my home. After a while not hearing from them, I tried calling my representative only to learn she wasn't with the company any longer. Called headquarters to find out she had been gone quite a while. I'm talking months. Informed them that I would like the Gucci watch returned. They said they never had the watch. What does one do now?!? Who's not telling the truth? About a year later someone called me and said she was the new Dallas rep. We discussed the watch situation. She acted appalled. Said she would chase the information down. Promised she'd get back to me. Guess what...never heard another word. Fool me once, shame on you. Do it again and it's shame on me. While this shop showed up when I Googled resale shops in Dallas, this is a different animal, which I knew when a security guard had to buzz me in and out of the shop. This is very high-end, designed stuff, in pristine condition, BUT the prices are still sky high. I'm not sure why anyone who could spend MANY thousands of dollars on clothes or shoes or purses would buy resale instead of just going to Neimans and buying new, but what do I know? So, even if bargain hunting for designer duds is the goal, this place just doesn't have the inventory. There are maybe 6 racks of generously spaced clothes, no size guidelines, just a few racks of (did I mention expensive?) fancy clothes. read more

Not only that, the jacket was a $500.00 originally priced item and they told me I would only get $40.00 back! I tend to asked them to return it to me but it had already been sold. When my check arrived 2 days ago (this is after 4 months!), I only received $29.00!!!!! I will never ever deal with this store or company again. read more

This business is a disaster. First off the Dallas location is closed but website shows open and online they keep asking me if I want to drop off items to consign. ( so the staff isn't even aware) If you consign items you'll make nothing, but you can buy items dirt cheap because they practically give items away. The website is a nightmare to navigate, they don't even put the style names and sizes are wrong. I attempted to get it corrected online, but they never got back to me until 5 days later. Since I was trying to avoid an expensive order from being lost, after waiting an hour after I asked online, I took my chances and I called the store. After explaining my dilemma, the manager assured me that she had corrected the address and not to worry. After waiting almost 2 weeks with no delivery from them, I checked my account and discovered the order was canceled the same day I placed it and only one of the items I'd ordered was available...everything else had already been sold to other customers. I reached out through the online portal again to inquire why I was NOT informed they'd canceled the order. After being told they'd look into it and get back to me, they've never done so. The lady? was not pleasant and not willing to help with basic questions. I was told the questions I'm asking are online! My employer has received a couple of checks for very little amount. I purchased a used Rolex Datejust recently for my wife and ended up returning it. We decided to get a new watch instead of a used one of the same model. It has been more than a week and I have not gotten the refund back. I was told the watch needed to be re-authenticated before my refund would be processed. I called Wednesday and they had trouble finding the transaction. They didn't know what was going on. When I asked for a manager I was told I was speaking to the manager and that another manager would help me out. The person I made my return with was wearing a t shirt with the word "Manager" - Jean Paul (I hope I am spelling that correctly). That's the ONLY REASON I walked up to him and he was very polite. However, for customers sake I hope that everyone in the store is truly not a "Manager" here. The young lady I spoke to on the phone told me she was going to put the product on "return approved". Apparently they didn't promptly process the return. I was told I would have my refund by today. It's now Friday 10/29/21 and I do not have my refund. I am worried. Believe me, been many places and had bad experiences and never left a review, ever, first time. I always give the benefit of the doubt for stuff. I originally took them to TBC (To Be Continued ) after seeing several break in attempts i was advised by The Real Real to bring them back to their store. The Real Real listed the shoes on their website and someone purchased the shoes and returned them i saw my shoes listed for 50% off i requested to send my shoes back to be weeks passed i realized my shoes was never sent to find out they had been sold. One of the items - the dress I got was Amazing, and in perfect condition! It was a Beatrice B dress ( in great condition just like was stated.) The other Orange jacket - Marc by Marc Jacobs was in worse condition than what was stated online has a rip that was undetailed - they said "good, moderate use, pilling at exterior", but it's an actual rip. I feel like the definition of it online made it seem like it was in better condition than thought, truly. Though I will be keeping it cuz the price was still good/ damage fixable. I still feel it could have been better represented than the statement they gave. Also, there was a small faint stain on it that was not seen on original image, because it was so minor, but I got it out. Was pretty happy with my purchase overall given the fact. The RealReal is a real scam. I dropped off a pristine, brand new, never worn Smythe blazer ($650 + tax.) The Dallas store associate did a visual check of the interior and exterior of the blazer before they sent it off to their central hub. Low and behold, I saw on MY SALES page of my account that the blazer was rejected due to an interior stain. They are supposed to return the blazer to me but have not done so. Their customer service is non existent. Text, chat, email There customer service number 855-435-5893 x3 has an excessive hold time but allows you to "hold your place in line" and they will call you back. I've done this 2 days in a row and no one has called back. I called the Dallas store directly and have left several messages. This has gone on for 3 weeks now.
