We had the best experience here, 10/10, no notes. Seriously everything from the staff, to the food,…read moreto the drinks, the energy, and all of the accommodations... we could not have asked for a better evening!! Food wise - you MUST get the burrata e focaccia. Before heading to the airport we literally came back and ordered another one to go because we were all still craving it. For back story, we were a party of 19 (yes nineteen, so sorry!) and we accidentally made the online reservation for Saturday instead of Friday like we planned. We called the day of, and the host was so so kind and helped us still come on our friend's birthday Friday evening. Even though it was pouring all weekend, we had an awesome table set up out on the back patio which was covered, decorated, and had heaters going. It was so beautiful and comfortable despite the cold front. The service was phenomenal. Extra shoutout to Patrick and all of the bussers/food runners who helped our table. He gave us lots of food and drink recommendations and did not disappoint! Again, the burrata was amazing. Our favorite pizzas were also the pear & proscitto and the stakki Jo (with added hot honey). Will definitely be back if we are ever back in Richmond! xx

The bizarre experience at Brambly Park started right at the host stand. Despite having a…read morereservation and the restaurant having numerous empty tables, the host actually checked our IDs to prove we weren't lying about our name. I've had reservations in major cities around the world and have never been ID'd for a table--especially not at a casual spot like this. From there, they automatically tacked on a 20% service fee for essentially a DIY dining experience. Once the server dropped off our food, she disappeared completely, leaving us to fetch our own drink refills and making the automatic markup feel entirely unearned. The food was just as low-effort. My bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was basic and came with no hot sauce options. My daughter's kid's spaghetti had a watery sauce that slid right off the noodles. The pear and prosciutto pizza was basically a lackluster flatbread, and it even arrived with a torn piece of a Piancone wrapper sitting right on top that the server completely missed. To finish it off, we had to switch tables immediately because our picnic table was filthy underneath, complete with bugs crawling up through the wood planks. Between the weird host interrogation, poor hygiene, lazy food, and unjustified fees, I'd highly recommend spending your money elsewhere.

When my husband and I arrived the night before to drop off our items, my cousin who rented the hall had not yet arrived. She was still picking up last minute items. The owner and her son were there. The owner introduced herself and said she was leaving but her son whom she introduced would be there. He would be on the other side doing a photo shoot. She said we could go in and drop off the items. We asked if we could stay to wait for my cousin. She agreed. I called my cousin to see how soon she would be arriving. Not long after, my other cousins arrived to set everything up. She asked if I could help by putting the tablecloths on the tables. I started putting the tablecloths on them and noticed how dirty the tables were. I politely asked the owners son if we were responsible for cleaning the tables or were they? I emphasized politely because I didn't want to come across as rude or condescending. After all we needed a place for the next day. He shrugged his shoulders. I then found some cleaning supplies and began cleaning the tables. I couldn't believe how filthy they were and pointed this out to the owner son. To which he replied "well aren't you covering them with tablecloths?" I explained that wasn't the point. I could visibly see that he wasn't pleased with me pointing out the filth. While cleaning the tables I noticed that some of the chair covers were very stained, one had a bright red stain and others were just stained With dirt spots. I showed this to the cousin that was there setting up. My husband joined in with helping clean the tables so I could put the tablecloths on them to speed up things. That's when we both noticed the dirty floors. That included a dead roach and some cake.We had already noticed earlier that the carpet on the platform was filthy. My husband nicely asked for a broom and the owner son stated that he had swepted the floor. My husband pointed out that it was still dirty and showed him the dead bug. The owner son replied with "oh that's just a water bug". My husband said " nobody wants to see a dead bug on the floor when eating". The owner son replied with " we rent all the time and we sweep our floors!" My husband then pointed out the cake on the floor and I said the floor where I was standing had stuff on it as well. To which he replied " we'll keep in mind that you track stuff in upon entering the building and we need to check our energy"! My husband pointed out the fact the we didn't bring cake into the building. I pointed out that my other cousins entered the building at the other end of the room therefire they couldn't track anything down the end where we were standing inside the building. I then replied that " our energy is in check, in fact it was his energy that changed after I pointed out that the tables were filthy earlier". He then continued to say " check your energy, we should be uplifting each other." I replied that "I support my people but I also expect the same excellent service from my people that I would expect from any other race!" He told me again to "check my energy". My husband then reiterated that it was his energy that needed to be checked and pointed out that his demeanor is showing in the way he was sweeping the floor". My cousin who rented the hall arrived. I informed her of the situation and she said "oh that's what his mom was talking about when she called my sister asked her who was there giving her son a hard time." So instead of the owner asking about our concerns she cared more about her grown son feelings. She NEVER once addressed the concerns of the people renting the hall. And her son never completed sweeping. I do not recommend this place at all! If you do be sure that your contract includes cleanliness and maintenance/up keep of the floor that is in desperate need of waxing prior to your event. Parts of the ceiling panels are also in need of repair. You have been forewarned!

Originally…read moredeveloped as part of the expansion North along the newly expanded streetcar line, this recreation association acts as a summer cultural and social gathering spot for the residents of Ginter Park and surrounding neighborhoods. The building is a beautiful Arts and Crafts/Shingle Style building that was originally used as a school and meeting house/town hall. It is now the main club house for the GPRA. I personally join the pool each summer as it provides me with an escape from the daily grind. There are three pools. An adult, kids, and wading pool. There are nice gas grills and a raised sun deck. Bathrooms with showers are also provided for pool users. You can even bring a cooler of cold adult beverages! The clubhouse is nicely landscaped and kept up on the outside but lacks central air conditioning and is thus always hot in the summer. It is available for private parties for members. Membership is relatively affordable and rates ban be seen on line. There is also a swim team called the Dolphins. It is both child and adult friendly. Many 20 and 30 something singles hang out by the adult pool and there is a festive party atmosphere on weekends, the pools are even open until 10pm on Saturday. Single membership is a one time fee of $350 and a family membership one time initiation is $580.
