But I threw out my back & I've had it with the steroid injections & bs. So I spoiled myself. They just reopened on Willoughby in Bushwick and oh my lanta!!!! It's a much more intimate space than they had 10 years ago, when you go for the community option I think there's only three beds now. Not only does the bed heat up, but the wonderful Dr Patchi put a heating lamp on my back for my cramps. LUXURY I swear this was a spa like experience! Patchi is super warm & chill, and SO intuitive with her hands. She also used a tens unit which I completely love. She is so so so skilled, and that excellent skill is overshadowed in the best way by her warmth. When we were done I slowly sat up and stretched my back a bit, and felt pops where I've been really needing to feel pops! She also did some needling for an ankle I broke last year that I'm still healing, and I'm really impressed by how much that worked. Of course it isn't magic, I still have cramps and my back is still rough, but both are much much much more manageable after just one session. I was tipped off to a pay what you can day coming up soon, and I really really really appreciated that (& immediately booked a spot). Being broke sucks, this economy sucks, looking for a job sucks, and it sucks even more when you feel like you're being judged for not having much money (esp since Bushwick is turning snooty). That tip was such a compassionate move, and it's so kind that they're having to pay what you can day!!!

Every employee inside checked us out/what we were wearing (sorry I am not wearing Prada) and treated us as if we were not welcomed there, asking us passive aggressive questions as if we could not afford the products they were showing. Mind you, my niece is 14 and is very shy about trying new products and asking for help - we asked a few questions and we were shut down by the owner (?). The actual place seems very well designed and I am sure the products are good, but we did not end up buying anything because of the treatment the worker gave us.

While checking in I was able to browse the front space which is a storefront selling bags, decor, homeopathic remedies, incense and jewelry. I was then escorted to the back waiting room until my appointment started. The space is beautiful and I LOVE all the African decor. Anthony my acupuncturist was very thorough with my assessment prior to starting the treatment. It was not painful at all and I appreciate his constant communication throughout the treatment. After my appointment, I was invited back to the waiting area and given a delicious anti-inflammatory tea to drink while I sat and decompressed.
