This place is so cute! Nice little corner bar with great drinks and a Jim is a great bartender!! I recommend you don't try to win something from the vending machines bc you can't win the game unfortunately. You can only with the drinks.

Super cute Japanese bar with knowledgeable, friendly bartender. Recommended just the right drink for a first-timer. Low noise when we were there, 7 - 8:30 PM, so it was very easy to hold a conversation with friends. We were talking about tiki bars and the bartender told us they do a tiki night once a month, I believe. They've been open just 3 years and check out all the events on their Facebook page. Winner of Milwaukee's Best Bloody Mary. Live music later in the evening.

If you ever wondered what would happen if WI turned a dive bar into a sake bar- now you know! The place is really fun, lots of Japanese influence, sake flights, fun cocktails - and board games in the corner. The claw machine has boobs in it, which you can sign and leave behind the bar. There is one sink shared outside the bathrooms, which hopefully shames everyone to do the right thing.

A great atmosphere with great service and a great menu. We stopped just for an Old Fashioned (we have a "passport" ) but loved the company at the bar as well as the unique drink options so we had a second round. Definitely recommend trying the old fashioned. It was delicious and unique! But we'll also be back to try a few other crafted cocktails I've never seen elsewhere.

A beguiling interior, preserving the familiar, but with a splash of exotic.

While the Red Maple has all the attributes of a welcoming Wisconsin corner tavern, it has enough surprises to make it stand out and draw you in. The proprietors have utilized an Asian theme, both in decor and what they serve, that tantalizes and beguiles. Small, but with a dark exotic intimacy, the excitement begins as soon as you enter Red Maple. They took extra effort to design a unique bar. The drink selection has all your favorites, but their liquor selection and mixology are provocative, transporting you across the Pacific to an oriental fantasy. My cocktails were almost psychedelic tasting, and I was cooing with pleasure. I had never tasted anything like it before, and they were delicious. Pricing is very reasonable. Heidi, Chad and Cory took great care of me, agonizing over what drink would make me happy. I can be difficult. Some may say demanding, but the three of them handled me with smiles and good cheer. Red Maple is new, maybe four or five months old, and they have wonderful ideas for the future. This will become a destination drinking establishment. You will enjoy yourself at The Red Maple.

Such a cute space that's brought me back to bars in Japan. The decor was perfect and the space inviting for new guests and old. They have a great list of cocktails with an Asian ingredient spin to keep with the theme. There is a plethora or sake and also soju options. If you go on Mondays , they have upgraded snacks for patrons.

We decided to meet up with some out of town friends here prior to dinner elsewhere. They do NOT serve any food here. However, Eric the bartender here was accommodating, friendly and great in our drink requests. Be aware though. It's quite loud here, but very quaint and unique with a Japanese theme. Many cocktails, wines and beer to choose from. Oh, I forgot many Sakes! Prices are not too bad. Mostly a younger crowd hang out. Get here earlier before weekend crowds arrive!

We went to Red Maple when they opened on 2/19/23 to check it out. They're a new Japanese Culture Inspired bar in walkers point. The space is small but cozy and they had lots of people there to check it out. The bartenders were quick to get to us even with a crowd and we're helpful with suggestions. I tried their cherry old fashioned which really focused on the cherry flavor and was light and crisp compared to other old fashions. Their menu had sake and other Japanese options for beer, etc. very cute space!

Everyone needs to stop what they're doing and check out The Red Maple off of Kinnickinnic (by the bottle). It's a NEW Japanese infused bar and (upcoming restaurant)! They have a full list of Sake and Japanese beer and the best...THE BEST Bloody Mary in Milwaukee!!!! And I've had LOTS of MKE bloodies. So so good!!!!!! Go check it out!!!!!

Cmon now.. The…read moreFarmers Breakfast itself was good. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the bacon was decent, and overall the meal was satisfying. What disappointed me was that the menu specifically advertised Amish butter and homemade jam, which was one of the reasons I ordered it. Instead, I was served two foil wrapped pats of butter spread and two containers of Welch's jelly. When I asked about it, the waitress explained they no longer have the Amish butter or homemade jam and that was why she brought the substitutes. Jelly is not Jam.. sigh I understand that restaurants run out of items or change suppliers, but if something that's specifically advertised is no longer available, it should be mentioned when ordering or updated on the menu. Also, jelly isn't the same as homemade jam. It wasn't a huge deal, but it's frustrating when advertised items are quietly replaced with packaged alternatives without acknowledging the difference. The breakfast was good, but I'd encourage the restaurant to either serve what's advertised or be upfront with customers when substitutions are necessary.

I randomly stopped for lunch at The Yard a few weeks ago, an outdoor spot tucked right inside…read more(&outside) The Iron Horse Hotel in Milwaukee. I ordered the turkey BLT and loved that it came on a buttery, flaky croissant--such a great touch that took the sandwich to the next level. That said, I tried the chicken katsu sandwich and it was seriously one of the best sandwiches I've ever had--perfectly cooked chicken, the flavors were on point, and the mayo? Everything. I came across a "new menu" on Google & was a little bummed to see it's no longer on the updated menu. I really hope they bring it back or I looked at an "old" or outdated new menu The ambiance was great--I sat in the front near the hotel, but the outdoor lounge area looked super cozy and inviting. I'd love to come back at night, when the string lights and fire towers are lit up I feel like the area would be even cozier and cuter The service was okay; I'm not sure if it's because we were sitting outside but it felt like we didn't get much service at all. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and the vibe, and I'll definitely be returning.
