[[HIGHLIGHT]]Super cute Japanese bar with knowledgeable, friendly bartender.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Recommended just the right drink for a first-timer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Low noise when we were there, 7 - 8:30 PM, so it was very easy to hold a conversation with friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were talking about tiki bars and the bartender told us they do a tiki night once a month, I believe. They've been open just 3 years and check out all the events on their Facebook page. Winner of Milwaukee's Best Bloody Mary. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Live music later in the evening.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

If you ever wondered what would happen if WI turned a dive bar into a sake bar- now you know! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is really fun, lots of Japanese influence, sake flights, fun cocktails - and board games in the corner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The claw machine has boobs in it, which you can sign and leave behind the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is one sink shared outside the bathrooms, which hopefully shames everyone to do the right thing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    A very unique Old Fashioned

A great atmosphere with great service and a great menu. We stopped just for an Old Fashioned (we have a "passport" ) but loved the company at the bar as well as the unique drink options so we had a second round. Definitely recommend trying the old fashioned. It was delicious and unique! But we'll also be back to try a few other crafted cocktails I've never seen elsewhere.

A beguiling interior, preserving the familiar, but with a splash of exotic.

While the Red Maple has all the attributes of a welcoming Wisconsin corner tavern, it has enough surprises to make it stand out and draw you in. The proprietors have utilized an Asian theme, both in decor and what they serve, that tantalizes and beguiles. Small, but with a dark exotic intimacy, the excitement begins as soon as you enter Red Maple. They took extra effort to design a unique bar. The drink selection has all your favorites, but their liquor selection and mixology are provocative, transporting you across the Pacific to an oriental fantasy. My cocktails were almost psychedelic tasting, and I was cooing with pleasure. I had never tasted anything like it before, and they were delicious. Pricing is very reasonable. Heidi, Chad and Cory took great care of me, agonizing over what drink would make me happy. I can be difficult. Some may say demanding, but the three of them handled me with smiles and good cheer. Red Maple is new, maybe four or five months old, and they have wonderful ideas for the future. This will become a destination drinking establishment. You will enjoy yourself at The Red Maple.

Such a cute space that's brought me back to bars in Japan. The decor was perfect and the space inviting for new guests and old. They have a great list of cocktails with an Asian ingredient spin to keep with the theme. There is a plethora or sake and also soju options. If you go on Mondays , they have upgraded snacks for patrons.

We decided to meet up with some out of town friends here prior to dinner elsewhere. They do NOT serve any food here. However, Eric the bartender here was accommodating, friendly and great in our drink requests. Be aware though. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's quite loud here, but very quaint and unique with a Japanese theme.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Many cocktails, wines and beer to choose from. Oh, I forgot many Sakes! Prices are not too bad. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Mostly a younger crowd hang out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Get here earlier before weekend crowds arrive!

We went to Red Maple when they opened on 2/19/23 to check it out. They're a new Japanese Culture Inspired bar in walkers point. The space is small but cozy and they had lots of people there to check it out. The bartenders were quick to get to us even with a crowd and we're helpful with suggestions. I tried their cherry old fashioned which really focused on the cherry flavor and was light and crisp compared to other old fashions. Their menu had sake and other Japanese options for beer, etc. very cute space!

Everyone needs to stop what they're doing and check out The Red Maple off of Kinnickinnic (by the bottle). It's a NEW Japanese infused bar and (upcoming restaurant)! They have a full list of Sake and Japanese beer and the best...THE BEST Bloody Mary in Milwaukee!!!! And I've had LOTS of MKE bloodies. So so good!!!!!! Go check it out!!!!!

I had heard about the Tin Widow's holiday pop up being one of the best area, the hype was not wrong. From the entrance to the ceiling and walks, this place is the definition of deck the halls. Unless you get here right when they open it early in the holiday season, I would expect a crowd. The drink menu is so fun with holiday themed drinks served in matching glassware. You can even purchase the glass/mug for an additional fee. A lot of the cocktails looked to be batched cocktails which help with the bartender's efficiency. Highly recommend making this place a holiday stop. I'm also curious to stop in after the holidays to experience it without all the holiday decor.

They had several seasonal cocktails in special festive cups, which you could also buy to take home. I got the Cheery Cherry Chocosaurus, which was good, but pricey for what it was. Almost all the seasonal drinks were $15 each and didn't seem too big. The venue itself is medium sized, but feels crammed quickly. There's more people let in at a time than there is seating, so you have to move fast to get a seat. I'll likely come back during the summer to try something else.

The only reservation we could get was 4:30PM but we were excited we were able to get in at any time. Because of the timing, the sun was setting over the water, which was really pretty to see. I got a little confused with where to enter the building and I guess I went in the wrong way because I walked down the dock and entered the back of the restaurant by the restrooms, lol. Barnacle Bud's had a cool decor vibe and moody lighting. Our waitress was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and you could tell she was very excited about the menu and the pop-up experience. She provided exceptional customer service- she went over the menu thoroughly, came back to check on us multiple times, and always refilled our water, which I always appreciate! To start, we ordered wine and the relish tray. Everything on the relish tray was a little too vinegary for me but most of the table enjoyed it. However, the four of us didn't finish it. It was pretty powerful with vinegar flavor. For an entree, I had the salmon with veggies and my friends ordered the lamb chops, carbonara, and a vegetarian friend ordered a plate of Bud's potatoes and veggies. The food was good but I thought mine was very salty. And I'm glad I ordered my sauce on the side. For dessert, the four of us shared the mousse, which had good flavor and texture. Also to note, there were up-charges for veggies, sauce was $3 extra, etc., so just pay attention to pricing if that's a concern for you. Overall, it was a unique experience and worth checking out.
