Miso Broiled Black Cod with Miso

The miso cod & spicy tuna never disappoints, those are a must! Ask about the house special rolls because we are so glad we did, we even ended up ordering 3 more.... For apps we got the cod lettuce tacos, edamame, crispy rice with tuna, & salmon. All were amazing. We each got different cocktails but all were so good. Went with the bento box & rice pudding for dessert which were both incredible but I personally think the bento box is the way to go. Service was TOP NOTCH & the ambiance is amazing. 100000/10 must go!!!! (Spicy tuna roll has my heart, Chef Nobu knows what he's doing)

By far, some of the best sushi I've had in the states. The tuna truffle special was out of the world flavorful that I was honestly shocked with the amount of flavor and taste I was hit with all at once. The udon was just okay, but the other sashimi rolls were fantastic. The drinks were also good and the service as well as the setting/atmosphere.

My friends and I dined at Matsuhisa this past weekend and had a very nice experience. Our friend who has dined here in the past took control and ordered for us. The service was superb. Between the food runners bringing the food out and our waitress always being present set the tone. The food was really good, but the wagyu wasn't worth it. Everything else was really good. I do suggest the bento box for dessert. The molten chocolate cake was hot and oozing chocolate filling. We sat out doors and the views were breathtaking looking into the mountains. The only con was that on Saturdays they have a dj playing in front of the restaurant which made it tough to talk. Otherwise a very nice experience.

We were SO looking forward to returning to Matsuhisa since we were last here in 2/20 (during the epic snowstorm). Matsuhisa has always been our favorite in Vail, however, the food fell really flat and was so disappointing. The sushi looked good but didn't taste fresh. Definitely was not memorable. The best part of the meal was the shrimp tempura, salad and the cocktails. Service was superb so would give 5-stars for that.

Incredible atmosphere and service! This place was hyped up and it delivered. The Sake, Cocktail and wine selection is a legit. The food, exquisite, lots of small bites and larger entrees. Ask for Dan behind the bar, super knowledgeable!

4.5 rounding up to a 5 because the service was impeccable. The food was very good overall, though the nigiri portions were quite skimpy--the fish was thin, especially considering the price, which was higher than top spots in Denver like Sushi Den or Temaki Den. However, the non-sushi dishes, like the crispy rice, black miso cod lettuce wraps, and sizzling cauliflower, were excellent. The service truly stood out--each time we used a plate, it was promptly replaced, and we felt very well taken care of. While I think it's one of the better restaurants in Vail, I might be biased because sushi is my favorite!

Everything here was amazing! They were super busy but our server was still on top of it. Family friendly but also great spot for a date. The whitefish crudo was incredible! They also have amazing cocktails.

Unfortunately this place has really fallen off lately. We always have amazing service and super knowledgeable waiters, however, the sushi is just not worth the price at all. Been wanting to try the upstairs bar though since it always seems lively/fun, so may have to come back and give them one more shot...

Giving this a 4 star food was excellent, so delicious everything, service is quick and nonstop and we got seated earlier than our reservation, only complaint is the waiters hovering waiting for you to finish but overall super good food, and such a cute little place

We went to Vail to ski at the end of February and beginning of March. First time staying in Vail so we relied on concierge from our hotel to make dinner reservations which ended up being all very similar restaurants. So after the first two days we started asking for recommendations and Matsuhisa was one of them along with Chasing Rabbits (see separate review). We tried making reservations but they were booked three weeks out. Told we could try to walk in if we showed up a little before 5pm. So a couple days later, we showed up a little after 5 and had to get in line but were seated within 20 minutes. As we were walking to our table we were greeted by the sitting patrons to "Irasshaimase". I stated laughing thinking I was in an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm and was expecting Larry David to pop out. Maitre'd told us the place was crazy for a month after that episode of Curb aired. My wife isn't a fan of Sushi but found a wonderful spinach salad with dry miso, parmesan, and grilled shrimp to enjoy as her main meal. We also snacked on Edamame and skewers of beef and chicken. I had the Blue Fin Tuna sashimi special and a separate order of sushi. The service was great and the food excellent. My wife tried the Gardener drink special which was flavorful with a little bite to it. The Gardener can be made with Tequila, Gin, or Vodka to suit your taste. The deserts were outstanding. My wife was in heaven with the rice pudding and I got my chocolate fix with the Bento Box. (See pictures of most of our meal). Looking forward to stopping here again next year. Irasshaimase.

Loved the food at matsuhisa. It's authentic Japanese food with both sushi and warm food options. We had the vegetable and yellowtail rolls and they were divine. As a couple we also shared a seafood soba noodle soup and the kitchen / server was so kind to serve the soup split into 2 bowls. The seafood were so well cooked and the broth was delicious. We also had a salad and tempura for appetizer and they were not bad but not as amazing as the sushi and soup. Overall, great dining experience although I would like to note that the server did want to push us to order more when we already ordered more than enough for 2 ppl, which made us feel slightly uncomfortable

Large restaurant that is great for busy times in Vail. They generally will take walk-ins on a wait. Equally fun in the summer or winter.

And to stumble upon this chic and inconspicuous cocktail bar in the busy downtown was something I wasn't expecting and became a treat after a nice stroll through the town after dinner in my hotel room. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was at the place where my heart was calling for. There were two gents at the bar and one of them warmly greeted me and said I could sit anywhere I would like. I hence picked one of the bar seats. Except one table that was occupied by a couple I was the only one. I appeared to have picked the right time; I had the whole bar to myself (eventually though, several different groups of people streamed in; only a few of them sat at the bar close to me. The bar was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate a little over 10 people.) Jeremy, who greeted me upon arrival, was a super host. As soon as I explained that wine is my usual got-to, he said he could mix and match reds and whites to create a "flight" based on what I had told him as to my likings. His extensive explanations as to what sorts of reds and whites the bar offers/serves was (of course) all in his memory. His eloquent speech with no filler words truly impressed me; he sure is a wine connoisseur. What he picked for me were... -2024 Pepiere "Les Gras Moutons" (Muscadet) -Kobal "Bajta", Hazole Belo (aka Orange Wine) -Sandlands "Red Table Wine (Lodi Red Blend) With his wealth of knowledge, after giving him only a hint of what I liked, what Jeremy selected for me to sample/sip was a superb choice. All of them were world-class excellence with elegance and beauty. I carefully and slowly sipped each one little by little to truly immerse myself in the art of wine. Yes, wine is a piece of art for sure. I think I said it correctly at the beginning of this review. This is a cocktail bar with variety of spirits which Jeremy could easily concoct just about anything from gin-based one to vodka-based one to tequila-based ones to whiskey-based one to name several. For those who don't drink, their zero-proof section also has something interesting to browse and choose. Not to mention, rotating pilsner or IPA on tap to name a few from the beer section as well. If you need a little bite to eat, their (changing) food menu has a good number of New American-style plates. The bar originally opened in a different building back in 2015 (I believe). They moved to the current location in 2019. They also offer various different classes so you can expand/extend your knowledge. So for your next foodie vacation in Vail, make sure to include Root & Flower in your list.

We walked in and it appeared to be a quiet night, we could see the bar was pretty empty. The hostess asked if we were staying at the hotel and we said no, we were dropping by for cocktails and wished to sit outside. She told us we could sit inside at a couch area by the entrance. One of our friends walked through the bar and noticed the fire pit seating areas were available and asked a server if we could sit there instead. She looked at us and said she would have to ask the hostess if any were available. Clearly they were and they didn't want our group sitting there for some reason. The bar was practically empty so not sure what the issue would be, perhaps it was because we were not hotel guests. After not getting back to us we just sat ourselves outside. Our server was Nivas. Nivas was not overly friendly but she was attentive. We ordered a couple rounds of cocktails. They were pricy but good. The fire pit tables are very nice. If you can sit outside at a fire pit I would recommend doing so.

Such a relaxing but chic spot to enjoy a meal after being out in the mountains. Our waitress was not overbearing and gave us enough time between bites to take it all in. She also made sure we got the full experience with the hot chocolate to marvel at its glory! The food was excellent, but the butternut squash soup was truly outstanding. It had a beautiful natural sweetness with a subtle hint of apple that made the flavor feel layered and comforting, and the pepitas added the perfect little crunch. It was one of those dishes you keep thinking about after you leave. We also ordered the hummus, which tasted incredibly fresh and crisp, light, bright, and perfectly refreshing alongside the richer dishes. But the real star of the experience was the hot chocolate. It was absolutely decadent and comforting, easily one of the best cups of hot chocolate I've ever had. Rich, smooth, and the perfect treat in a snowy Vail setting. Overall, Remedy Bar delivers a beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, and a cozy mountain-luxury experience. I would absolutely recommend stopping in if you're visiting Vail.

Only four of us were there as the other two were across the street at Christy's returning their rental skis. There was a table of 6 but the hostess said she couldn't sit us until the other two arrived. Right then, a guy walks up and asks for that same table. He was by himself and she gave the table with six chairs to him. His full party was clearly not there but she sat him anyway. Why is that allowed? Clearly favoritism. And to be clear, two of his friends showed up and the other three never arrived. So, at that point we told the hostess we were now a table of four and she said we could sit at a table that had 3 chairs. Well okay....we took it. We grabbed the table and asked other tables around us for the extra 3 chairs and everyone was nice enough to give us the extra chairs. Our server, Suzanne was excellent. Very attentive, friendly and immediately brought us our drinks and food. The nachos were tasty. Drinks were good but pricy. I give Suzanne 5 stars, food 3 stars hostess 0 stars.
