I have visited many local dispensaries (LaMesa) & every visit includes a greeting from staff! Always kind/helpful & joyful BUT I popped into The Reserve a few days ago after having dinner at The Hills next door I walked in & said hello to the only person at the desk (security guard) I made the statement that i haven't been here before & asked how long they had been opened The grumpy guard states "been here since October " Oh i say well i may have to return soon...."do you offer a discount for 1st timers"? Grumpy guard responds "Yeah every Dispensary offers that" Never offered any details never tried to do any kind of obvious customer service that should be offered especially since LM has many competitors!!! Had a less than great experience today, I have sympathy for the girl who was working alone bc I've been there, but a little extra explanation would've gone a long way. I started walking in because I didn't understand that the security guard wanted us to wait until multiple people had left to go in, and she told us kind of rudely 2 times to wait just because we were close to the door? and then asked us to sit down when we didn't understand why (it was because that was the only exit because the exit door that is usually open was blocked but we could not see that! If we had known we obviously would not have blocked the door) and it just didn't come across very well because we also thought she knew us because we come so often! Left a bad taste in my bf's mouth since he's been coming here for 5 years it was also my birthday and we didn't get the morning discount because of having to wait and 10 am passed which wasn't anyone's fault but just not the best start to the day and this honestly made us not want to come back If they want to avoid issues like this in the future I recommend a sign that says "line starts here" and hiring more people read more

Just happened to be in the area so I stopped to check this place out. A quick ID scan and a signature and I was in. Small clean spot, nice and organized. Since it was 11 minutes before closing they said they couldn't help me because they were about to close. I've never known a place to take more than a few minutes to add me to the system. I have no connection to the owners or employees of this company. That being said, I'm surprised by the 3 star average review. I live MUCH closer to Wellgreens and Dr Greenthumb, but go out of my way to shop at The Reserve. Better parking/check-in setup, it's a bigger space, brighter/more light, helpful staff, revolving specials, etc... the "you can't directly touch the merchandise" thing others have mentioned is real, but that's not a big deal to me. My favorite dispensary! I've been going to The Reserve in La Mesa for a few years now. Their loyalty program is one of the best I've found in San Diego. On top of that, their staff, specifically Izzy, make every trip worth it. Izzy has great breadth and depth of knowledgeable and always helps me find the right product for every occasion. Everything was amazing with this place until today. I put my order in before they opened like I usually do and have been for the last almost 2 years. No warning of the shop being closed and no answer on the phones all day. If you aren't open then shut down order service and update your hours. I drive a decent distance just for the reserve and it's crappy not being able to get what you order especially no communication. Super sad because this was my go to place. read more

As a Veteran and as a user of CBD I came here thinking it was a regular dispensary. As soon as I walked in, they stated it was medical cards only. Right after that statement, the security guard and the other attendant were quick to say, if you have $30 in cash and spend minimum 30$ you would be allowed to enter and buy something. You can use our ATM or go across the street to 7/11. So which was it? Medical only? Or Cash Only? Pretty SHADY if you ask me. Plus there was no parking, plus no one inside this place. Was pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome I received by both The front end guy that checks the IDs.. and my sales associate, Lucie. Both did a superb job. So Weedmaps' new plan as part of California's continuing fight against black market weed is to stop listing unlicensed businesses. I don't know if it's working, but I definitely won't be using Weedmaps anymore. Anywho... I like this dispensary. I'm a veteran and medical patient so I do receive a small discount. The Reserves has a lot of options. It has prices to meet all budgets. There were 1/8s for $20....that's not bad at all. They seem to have a lot of promos going on. This was one of the first places I visited when recreational became legal. They had some brands I liked from CO. The place has gone down, perhaps too much success. The last two times, they didn't have my favorite product. The last time I went in, I had to buy a 1/2 because they didn't have the smaller quantity. When I got home, I found out it was shake, not buds. Same brand on the package but we notice it's not the same as the bud. Getting the feeling that they are just trying to sell me any product even if it's not what I came in for. I found another dispensary. Don't think I will go back to The Reserve. read more

First time I went here I was scolded for picking up an item on a shelf so I could read it more thoroughly. Told myself I'd never go back due to the way I was scolded. Then returned a year or so later and WOW, what a difference. Still can't pick up stuff on the shelves, but the staff are great. Excellent customer service and product. Now it's my go-to dispensary. Have been using EMU 420 oil for years and they told me on the phone they had it but of course after getting there they didn't so talked me into a Transdermal Rub that was supposed to work the same way. I tried it for a few days and I would have gotten better results from Ben Gay or something else from the drug store for only a few bucks, not $75 with no guarantee and being told"it works differently on different people," That certainly helped my pain so live and learn or buyer beware. which ever makes you feel better. read more

This was my first time going to a dispensary, this isn't really my wheelhouse but my dad is in the late stages of Alzheimer's and he needs something to mellow him out. The guys behind the counter (sorry can't remember his name) took the time to explain all options and dosages. Ended up getting a couple bags of 10mg gummies based of his recommendation that were surprisingly affordable. Everyone was very friendly and the store was very clean and professional. Not at all like the head shops most of us grew up going to. So if you're in the market for Medicinal weed etc and are new to the dispensary world I would highly recommend the reserve.
