I wish I could review the food and ambiance but we did not make it that far. We placed our reservation for our 20th-anniversary dinner well in advance. We wanted to do something unique to celebrate 20 years of marriage and an evening like this seemed like something special. As the day approached my husband decided to email to ask a question and the response was not what we expected. We were told that they have an event that night and our reservation was canceled - no notice. No apology or offer to reschedule either. Just a general "too bad, so sad" response. Good thing my husband reached out or we would have arrived, ready to celebrate for nothing. Service and general respect for customers is everything. A simple, apology or offer to reschedule would have gone a long way. We had told all our friends what we planned and everyone was eager to hear how it went. My wife's maternal line is Italian, 4 generations removed from Italy. She'd wax poetically about her great grandmothers meatballs. So when I tasted the food at Il Tramanto on a business trip, I knew I had to bring my wife. We made some last minute plans that put us in the area, so I decided to make a reservation, and saw that Il Tramanto had closed during the pandemic. However, the former Il Tramanto chef, Chef G, was offer a unique reservation only four course dining experience in a garden setting, I jumped at the opportunity and was lucky enough to get a Friday reservation. First things first, you are welcomed, not like a customer, but like a family member coming to Sunday dinner. That level of service continues throughout the entire night. Then comes the food. You are not ready for the layers of flavor. The first dish was meatballs. My wife took one bite and immediately (and begrudgingly) said they were way better than her great grandmother's. I'll spare you the details on each dish, because here's the awesome thing, your dining experience won't be the same as mine. Your dining experience and the food you get will be guided by the fresh ingredients available for when you dine. I will just simply say that every single course was a complete joy. But, the dessert. Oh my the dessert. This dining experience won't last forever. While the pandemic has handed restaurants a setback, Chef G will be back in a successful restaurant when normal makes a comeback. So take my advice, do not miss out on this gem of a dining experience. You won't regret it. This is a truly unique and memorable dining experience. The food is always amazing but it's the people and environment they created that is so special. The restaurant in Old Town was "our spot" for daddy-daughter dates and we were sad to see it close during Covid but now we have a new spot that's even more special. The best part was they remembered my daughter and where we sat each time we came in for birthdays or special events. We will continue to come back and make new memories. read more

The food is delicious. Best marinara sauce I ever had. Truly authentic dishes. Love the element of surprise on the menu versus a traditional menu option. The chef greets his guest and goes over each course except desert, he likes to surprise his guest. The ambiance feels cozy and friendly. This is one of the best dining experiences my husband and I have ever had! An intimate, unique dining setting with four+ course meal - we have now dined there twice and both times the food was phenomenal and such a reasonable price. The first time we had grilled artichokes, salmon penne pasta, delicious chicken and cannolis; the second we enjoyed deconstructed bruschetta, fettuccine alfredo, chicken parmigiana, and crepes with marscapone cheese and berries. My friend who adores Italian food referred me to The Reserved Garden. She explained the concept to me and told me how the food was so amazing. (She used to dine at your mortar and brick restaurant prior to Covid.) My mouth was watering and I couldn't wait to try it myself. We brought a few friends with us and a great bottle of wine (and by the way, thanks for not charging a cork-fee!!). The food was just as good as described. Everyone was so delightful and fun. I had never eaten at Il Tramonto, but was looking for unique dining to share with my husband. I came across The Reserved Garden and I am so glad I did!! What an experience! The staff are so lovely and inviting. The food is incredible and fresh. You won't know the menu prior to seating because Chef plans the menu based on what looks best. My wife and I have been to the Reserved Garden multiple times and II Tramonto before that. Each time is an amazing experience, just make sure to make reservations ahead of time. It is a family run business which ensures a very personal experience. It is a full course dinner and the chef will personally walk around and speak with each table. It is a truly unique experience and we highly recommend. Be sure to bring your own alcohol. The bread pudding is amazing! read more

WOW, what a fabulous experience. Chef G was recommended by Dave at Destination Temecula (we hired them for a 2-day wine tour). Dave suggested that if our group (6 adults) enjoyed "experiences", we should try The Reserved Garden, which is a fine dinning experience on the patio at Chef G's home. The 6 of us enjoyed every bite; starting with a delicious cheesy pizza bread served over arugula, roasted tomatoes and a balsamic glaze. The 2nd dish was meatballs and a Bolognese sauce over a creamy polenta. The main dish was a lemon chicken in a light lemon cream sauce with a few capers and asparagus. As if we weren't already in a "food coma", the tiramisu was decadent! Everything was, of course, homemade, fresh herbs and great flavors. Not only was Chef G a gracious host, his wife Lynn and daughter-in-law, Victoria made the evening very special. Everyone was warm and friendly which made all of us feel welcome in their home. We will look forward to dinning with Chef G and family next time we are in Temecula. read more

If you're a foodie like me and love supporting local chefs, you will love The Reserved Garden. Your experience will start with emailing Lynn and booking a Friday or Saturday night dinner. Lynn responded quickly to each email. She welcomed us when we arrived making us feel right at home. Chef Giampi creates authentic Italian dishes of his choosing as you sit back, relax and enjoy the food and great conversation. He came out before dinner and announced his 4 course menu which included one of the best vegetable lasagnas I've ever had and amazing sea bass with a delectable lemon sauce. Dessert was a slice of cannoli inspired pie with a sweet delicate crust with a delicious cannoli inspired filling dusted with powdered sugar. After dinner, Chef Giampi shared his passion for cooking and showed us his manual pasta making machine which he uses to create the thin lasagna sheets from scratch. Chef and Lynn are truly professionals. They were clearly passionate about the art of food and we will definitely be back. read more
