I had such a great experience at Pialon Restaurant & Tapas in Encino last night. The food was absolutely amazing--every dish we ordered was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the menu and the overall dining experience. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. The aesthetic is modern, inviting, and perfect for a date night or dinner with friends. The outdoor patio adds to the ambiance and makes the whole experience feel even more special. What really stood out, though, was the hospitality. I believe the owner was outside greeting guests as they arrived and made a point to thank and acknowledge everyone as they left. That personal touch is rare these days and made us feel genuinely appreciated as customers. Excellent food, beautiful atmosphere, and outstanding hospitality. We wanted to love it here, based on all the reviews, but I just couldn't. The space is huge, with an indoor-outdoor feel to it, which was interesting. We were sitting in the bar area, and I think on the other side of the outdoor host area is more traditional restaurant seating, though I can't be sure. Jesse was our server and he was very kind and, by his own admission, new to the place. He worked hard to make things right for us. We started off with two glasses of happy hour pinot noir ($6) which were served very warm. When I inquired about it, he told us that they serve wine at "ambient temperature," but he would mention it to management. When it's over 80 outside, you should not be serving wine at that temp. He brought another glass in a little carafe on ice to try to remedy it, which was kind. I ordered a Watermelon Mojito on happy hour, with no agave ($10). It was fine. Other drinks our group ordered were a Lagunitas IPA ($8), a Pacifico ($8), and cold glasses of champagne (I asked before ordering to be certain; $12). As for the food, it was also ok, not bad, but fine. We shared the happy hour vegan Brussels Sprouts ($10)--no one is vegan, but that is how they come--the happy hour Margarita Flatbread ($10), the Lamb Bam sliders ($17 for two, add $6 for a 3rd), the Short and Saucy Tacos ($18 for 3) short rib tacos, and the Bone to be Wild ($18) for two large pieces of bone marrow with a few small toasted squares of bread. All of it was fine, in some cases a bit overpriced, especially off of happy hour. Many people seemed to love it, but our group was all of the opinion that it was fine. This location is a hidden gem on Ventura Blvd. It is a tapas style restaurant and the food is amazing. I went to this restaurant for birthday celebration and was not disappointed at all. Everything was great and really enjoyed my experience here. It is a very nice gesture that Michael owner walks around ,greets and welcomes the guests. For food, it is tapas style and perfect for sharing. It is a great idea to go for drinks and enjoy small bites. If you're in taking pictures for instagram, this is the place to visit. Found this gem in the SFV in a shopping center in Encino. So pleasantly surprised when we got here. Had some delicious cocktails and appetizers for a girls night out. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu. We had the shrimp and beef short rib tacos (comes with 3), filet sliders normally comes with 2 but we added one more, cheesy dream rolls (Mac and cheese egg roll), brussel sprouts. Loved the ambiance, very spacious and very friendly and prompt service. We met the owner too. Would be a great place for a large party. Told us about another location that they are opening up in Glendale. It's located on Ventura blvd so it's always a plus when there's a parking garage although it does cost $6. We had our waiter recommended some of the best items on the menu, and he brought us the pistachio hummus, the filet mignon skewers, the mushroom flatbread, and the fish tacos. The pistachio hummus was very unique and was tasty, but overall was missing just a bit of flavor. The mushroom flatbread was more of a really thin and crispy pizza, which we actually appreciated much more. It was super light and really delicious. All of the flavors just went so well together. The fish tacos were incredible and had the most delicious batter on the fish. It was super fresh and flavorful, and the fish was so crispy. I would order this again every time. The filet skewers were probably the biggest surprise and the best bite of the night. The meat was so tender and so incredibly flavorful. The rice was also so delicious and fluffy. We debated ordering a second one but wanted to save room for dessert. Definitely another dish I'll be getting again each time I'm here. For dessert we ordered the pistachio cake, which was really good and not too sweet, and some cappuccinos. Overall, this is a really great new restaurant tucked into a quiet little spot off of Ventura blvd. It's a perfect place for a date night, celebration, or a girl's night out. Pialon is located at the end of the walkway as you enter from the street. You will not miss the light-up arch. A nice "speakeasy" vibe where you can relax with friends and family and enjoy some good music, creative signature cocktails and delicious tapas. They do take reservations on Open Table and on Yelp. You can also use the Yelp Waitlist if you have not planned ahead. Service 5: Impeccable. Friendly, polite and attentive. Our water glasses stayed full the entire time, and the food and drinks kept coming. A shout out to our wonderful server Nima and the restaurant manager Michael, who checked up on us regularly to ensure that we had the best possible experience! Drinks 5: Full bar. Creative and tasty signature cocktails, beer, wine, coffee and soft drinks. We had the Espresso Martini and the Saffron Pomegranate Margarita and highly recommend both. Food 5: Wonderful modern Mediterranean small plates with creative names! Wow! I went here fir the first time last night (Tues) for happy hour. I loved from the start how nice, friendly and welcoming the entire staff was. The restaurant is decorated really nice and chic with beautiful lighting and chandeliers. We ordered the margherita pizza and it was amazing! It was so light and crispy and had a great flavor to it. This was absolutely amazing and I'm ashamed that I didn't take any pics while I was there. Ok so the ambiance is really cute. Very spacious and nice. Super comfortable seating. The service was an all star experience. Incredibly welcoming and appreciative that we were there. The restaurant only recently opened and I for one hope it stays open for a long time. Let's get to the food. So it's tapas/ small plates but these plates were honestly anything but small! Our group of three people ordered 9 dishes but we probably ordered 2-3 too many. It all just sounded so good. I would say my fav item was the Mac and cheese egg roll. Also one the cocktail menu was wonderful and I loved my drink so much that I had a second! The way social media's algorithms gets you. I've seen this place quite a few times on IG and figured I'll give it a go. The main reason, their happy hours seemed really good. And it's a little later than most place which is also a plus, 5-7 pm. Looking at the address it looked familiar. The Thai restaurant that's in the same plaza was a regular for us. We've seem this place before but it was a different business then. Fast forward to our experience. We had a dinner reservation with some friends but showed up a little early to check out the bar and grab a drink. There's street parking available as well as covered parking underground. You park yourself but it was 6.00 and you pay first. Stairs, elevator or walk up the driveway will take you to the restaurant. The hostess counter is right when you walk in. There's a pretty nice decent size patio with twinkle lights and televisions. It's a nice outdoor feel but we noticed that it was covered. Still have The Al fresco experience. To the left was the main dining area as well as seating area. The restaurant inside was pretty big. Also feels a little empty the way the tables were set. It was spread out a little far apart and there were booths along the wall. The bar area was to the corner which we sat for a drink. V, for shorter, the bartender was quite friendly. Caught us up about the restaurant, how it's still fairly new. Also mentioned happy hour as I was curious about it. Menu did look nice so that'll be the next visit. It's a full bar but they also have drinks specials on the menu. We hung out at the bar for a bit while the table was getting set. They offered us inside but outside looked quite nice so we asked if that was available. The staff did accommodate us but it was a little wait. We didn't mind hanging out at the bar but it was actually ready in a few minutes. Menu wise, it's a tapas restaurant so small plates. There were loads of nice dishes but we just wanted to try a few things to share. Also drank our dinner... Lol... Dish wise. -Shroom with a view flatbread. Roasted mushrooms with creamy ricotta and white truffle oil. The combination of everything was excellent. With the flatbread, it was an easy eat. Also flavored and seasoned well. -Catch and Dill Sliders. Grilled salmon with creamy dill sauce. The salmon was cooked well and pretty flavorful. Didn't really taste the dill sauce but it still worked well together with the brioche bun. -Truffle Hustle Fries. Crispy fries with truffle oil and Parmesan. What's not to love about fries. Thin shoestring fries that's perfect with anything. It's a must. -Bone to Be Wild. Roasted bone marrow with grilled red onions, fresh herbs and accompanied by garlic toast. It's not for everyone. There's not much flavor to marrow but the with garlic toast, it was quite nice. It had a nice crunch and the marrow spread was great. - Crabby Shroom Bomb. Lump blue crab with a cheese blend and pesto aioli. It's stuffed mushrooms which was a major hit. The mixture of everything was great. Pretty flavorful and I would say it was a must get. One of the favorites of the night. Finishing off the night with our waiters recommendation was the Coppa Pistachio. Custard gelato swirled together with chocolate and pistachios gelato and then topped with praline pistachios. The first bite for everyone, it was a good recommendation. The sweetness of the gelato was perfect to end the meal. And the churros with 3 different sauce. Prefect crunch with each bite. The whole experience was quite nice. Right from checking in. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Down to the bar area and having a drink with V the bartender who took very good care of us there. All the staff were friendly and very attentive. All with a smile everytime they're at your table and if anything was needed. Restaurant was quite nice. It's still fairly new but the meal we had was great. As it's tapas, the plates are small so be prepared to order a good amount of dishes. Menu looked amazing which is a plus. Next visit would be happy hour to check out. read more

I needed to find a restaurant that could accommodate a party of 9 people on a Wednesday night around 10:00 p.m. I spoke to Elie, one of the Pialon's owners. She was extremely flexible and reassured me that they could accomodate us at that time. They specialize in Mediterranean-inspired tapas and have a full bar. Elie assisted me to pre-select the menu items and the number of portions based on the guests attending the celebration. Upon arrival, the table was set up and the food was served within a few minutes. Everything was delicious, fresh, perfectly seasoned, the food's temperature was ideal, beautifully presented, and the amount of food that she suggested was precise. Pialon it's a family own business, and they are open daily from 5:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. It's located in Encino inside a plaza, which keeps the Ventura Blvd.'s traffic noise away. Pialon 's ambiance is exquisite, elegantly decorated, and provides an intimate home feeling. It has an indoor section and an outdoor patio, both exquisetevely designed. I highly recommend it for a date night, a bussiness meeting, a small party or for a large event. Ask for Elie when you make the reservation and she will handle everything. It was a worry free experience and I will describe it as the new jewel of the Valley. Pialon is a great addition to Ventura Blvd. in Encino. My husband, son, and I went to Pialon last Sunday evening to celebrate my birthday, and had a wonderful assortment of small plates and cocktails. The food and cocktails were excellent and our bartender/waiter was gracious and helpful. Our tapas included shrimp ceviche, pistachio hummus, bone marrow with garlic toast, and lamb chop lollipops. We added mushroom flatbread, truffle fries and Mama Mia meatballs, and wished we were still hungry... For dessert, we shared home-made churros with 3 sauces and Venere Nera, a lovely chocolate treat. Our unanimous favorites were the lamb chops-- tender, flavorful, and perfectly medium rare, with mint jelly and pesto garnishes. Everything was delicious-- we'll be back to try some of the other plates and drinks. The room was large and nicely decorated, with a modern cocktail lounge vibe. They can serve large parties; we learned they have a group of 40 scheduled this week. There's a patio, too, for outdoor dining.
