The food was very good with a large portion of meat and veggies but it was in no way Chinese. The Szechuan chicken had every vegetable imaginable and no spice. Still good but this is the most American "Chinese place" I've seen (except maybe the cigarette smell which is pretty authentic to the time I lived in China). Food was awful! I made the mistake on Door Dash and chose this Chinese restaurant instead of the one I normally eat from and it was a BIG mistake. Just to outline the garbage food they sent me and how they handle customer service//request: 1) My beef entree was almost all onion with a few slivers of beef here and there. Also, the onions were soggy and burnt. 2) The cream cheese wontons were rock solid and burnt. You could break a bone with one of them. 3) my last hope was the egg roll and it was burnt and old on one side and soggy on the next. 4) Portion VS PRICE is pathetic 5) My door dash drive was kind to make sure that I had the extra duck sauce and the man told him he could not give me anymore. AWFUL customer service. I got 4 packets of random sauces and 2 duck sauce. 6) Last, their cheap plastic container and sloppiness cause the food to leak. I have ordered from Rice Bowl 2 times, and each time has been amazing! You get massive portions for an excellent price. I am able to get at least 2 meals out of how much they give you! Everything is amazing, I recommend the cashew chicken. They also have sushi! Their philly and spicy tuna rolls are amazing. They also have seasonal rolls, and last night I got the Christmas Tree roll with avocado, mango, tuna and salmon. It was delicious and very fresh! If you order through Beyond Menu, they have offers if you meet a certain price point in your cart. For $25+ orders, You can get a large chicken fried rice, or cream cheese wontons. At $30+, you have the option of a California roll! I opted for the wontons and they were so yummy! Super crispy and not too much cream cheese. They pack everything up very neat offer contactless delivery. They left it on my door step and made sure I was there to grab it before driving off! Our son noticed this tiny restaurant across the street from Sam's Club as we sat at a stop light and since shopping always makes us hungry we decided to give The Rice Bowl a try. It was around 1pm in the afternoon and the place was empty but the young woman that greeted us was really sweet so we let her seat us and the three of us ordered our drinks. There's little tables throughout and seems like it would be nice for a couples lunch date. She quickly returned with menus in hand and offered us some appetizers as starters. We decided on pan fried pot stickers and tempura shrimp. Both appetizers were served hot and delicious!! Although each of us enjoyed both appetizers, my son and I favored the tempura shrimp while my husband's was the pot stickers. They have an inexpensive lunch menu that was perfect for us to choose from so we each ordered something different. I included egg drop soup with my lunch since I absolutely love it...Yummy yummy!! Everything was cooked well and came out steaming hot. We had no complaints and thought it was really nice that free refills were offered even to go when we were leaving. This used to be one of my favorite places to order from, however, recently they have slid so far down hill it's not worth getting. Save your money and taste buds and go somewhere else. First, it took an hour and twenty minutes for the food to be delivered--well outside the 40-60 minute window they provided. The sesame chicken had exactly zero sesame seeds and the chicken itself was so dry and tough it was literally hard to swallow. The beef fried rice tasted like it was made four days ago and reheated multiple times (I.e. super dry and flavorless) and had huge chucks of nearly raw onion--which was very off-putting. While the beef in the beef flat noodles had good flavor, the noodles were so over-cooked they turned into a goopy, gummy mush. Even the egg roll was awful being fried in stale oil and completely water-logged to the point of zero crunch factor. The only decently edible thing we got were the lettuce wraps. I don't know where this place's standards went but this was the third order that has been thoroughly disappointing, so they have now lost a pretty loyal customer. read more

(they offer different size, and smaller servings) (basically the quart size portion, is double the size portion of food you normally get at any other asian food restaurant, that's right double the size portion of food) when inflation is insane, prices keep going up, gas is almost $5.00 a gallon. these guys are still giving you good food, at a good value, the kung pao chicken, (quart size), with a side of rice, is $10.99 most asian restaurants and asian fast food places are now charging $14.99 to $16.99, per entree, for half as much food. let me state that again, most asian food places, are charging $14.99 to $16.99 for an entree with rice, for 1/2 as much food, as the quart size portion, at rice bowl. this for me is a no brainer, go to rice bowl, get my carryout kung pao chicken (quart size) with side of rice, take it home, relax, enjoy my delicious food, enough food for me for 2 days, and save $4.00 to $8.00 also the people are friendly, nice, and serve good food. so if you like good asian food, go try the rice bowl, a locally family owned restaurant and show them some love and support. read more

Because I'm a weirdo and for some odd reason (we had a free menu in our door and were too lazy to find another place) we decided to give it a shot. Having the worst expectations, we were actually pleasantly surprised. BUT I do believe that if I wasn't expecting anything I would have thought it was still pretty good. We got the Kung Pow Shrimp and Hunan Chicken. Both were good, both had flavor, and both had enough shrimp and chicken. Sure, it isn't incredible... but it's also 4-6$. I know, five stars is a big statement, but this place rocks it on complete service and quality of the food. Friendly staff, they offer pleasant and cozy dine-in, pickup, and delivery (well executed). The food tastes like you walked into a Chinese home dining room and ate a meal served as you were a family member. The lady taking orders screams at the phone for it to stop ringing and complains how she hates the online delivery drivers. She is rude to customers and at times down right mean. I've never had such a negative experience as a customer. As long as she works there I will never return. If I could give negative stars I would. Avoid getting food from here if you can. Great hours, open later and did not make us feel rushed at all when we sat in the restaurant and ate at 9:30pm! Amazing prices, a combo with an entree and an egg roll was only 6.99$ and plenty of food! We also ordered sushi, it was better tasting than in-the-raw and way better priced. The service was excellent, we were greeted so excitingly at the door although we were entering at 9pm they were still happy to see us! hello, My mom wanted to try this restraunt so I decided to take her here for an early Valentine's Day lunch because I am working 86 hours a week and this is the only time I could free up. Where do I start? Well. The place is literally disgusting. When you walk into this establishment, you get vibes that make you remember what it is was like when your mom went out drinking and left you at aunt Margaret's house. Aunt Margaret chain smoked 4 packs a day and was a hoarder and didn't ever take the dog out. Also, aunt Margaret had an alcohol problem and her drink of choice was keystone light. After that, when we sat down we were greeted by a nice old man. I like him. Then, out of nowhere, our server switched to the slug off of monster ink. That slug that says " wasowski, where's ya paperwork". First of all, she was extremely pushy. For some reason, she kept slamming water cups and bowls on table. Does not know how to sit gently like normal human being. Second of all. Rushed us very bad. Probably to distract us from the dumpster of a restraunt. We finally got our food. It looked like the sushi was just brought over from sams club. Secondly. My mom got sweet and sour shrimp and it was frozen. I don't know what was frozen because theyre wasn't really even shrimp in it. It was just a hard thing of bread. If this sweet and sour shrimp had a name, it would be r Kelly. After spitting this shrimp out, I went to the bathroom. Oh surprise what do you know, the water wasn't working. Guess my hands will just smell like pee. Thanks! Now, I'm ready to go. I ask for the check. I handed her my tax exempt card. The slug woman proceeded to say " we don't do that" Apparently this shit hole doesn't follow state law. I began arguing with slug woman. This is a cheap place to go for lunch, after 4pm I would suggest not eating here. There is a bar next door to the restaurant and you can hear the music & smell the smoke inside the restaurant. It's overwhelming.The service is great at lunch time, and the food is good nothing to write home about. You get what you paid for. The sushi is good but I'm really sure they just buy it from Sam's across the street. The waitress is always the same one. She is nice but if you let her she will tell you her whole life story. I have been looking for a different go-to restaurant for awhile, as it feels like I always end up at the same place. So I took a chance based on other reviews, and boy this place was worth that chance! The Rice Bowl is a neat little joint hidden away in a strip mall just south of the 41st and Sheridan intersection; it does not look like much from the outside. Upon entering, you notice a nice little to-go waiting area (they also offer delivery) and then off to the left is a neat little seating area with about 10 booths. It feels very intimate, with privacy screens throughout. I am a web developer who also dabbles in print design, so I'm a sucker for a well-designed menu. The menu here is well designed and looks classy, even presented in a faux leather booklet. The menu is clear and concise, with a decent selection, but not too elaborate. They have an appetizer page, a Chinese and a Japanese page, a specials page, and a drinks page. The Chinese entrees come in three portion sizes for most items, lunch, dinner, and quart. (Mine was only available in the quart size and it was too much for me.) The food itself was absolutely delicious. I had steamed dumplings as an appetizer, which are made fresh daily. They were wonderful. I like to try new things, so I chose the one item on the Chinese menu I had never heard of, which turned out to be very good. I forget the name, so not much point saying that I guess! Next time I will try the sushi for sure, and I need to figure out how far away they deliver... :) Oh before I forget, the price! I don't understand how they're doing it, but for a freshly cooked (large size) Chinese entree, an appetizer and a drink, I paid under 15 bucks. I don't mind paying for a good food, but cheap is always welcome. I left a larger than usual tip because I felt I had underpaid, quite honestly. I'm specifically writing a review because I'm baffled at the other reviews for this amazing place. I have had a lot of sushi and I loved this place. The sushi specifically was fantastic as well as the other simple rice bowls. My family all came and ate here and we tried everyone's food and not one item was just OK. All of it was fantastic. The service was excellent and they even gave us an extra sushi rolls at the end of the dinner. One criticism that I did have was about the sports bar next door. A small oder of cigarettes poured over but was remedied by the owners of the restaurant. Not everything could be perfect. I recommend the volcano roll as well as the spider roll. I also tried the spring roll, crazy dragon, screaming roll which also were good. All around I highly recommend Rice Bowl for dinning in. Even the price is not bad.
