This was the most luxurious place I have ever stayed. And I have stayed in a lot of hotels. The suite I had was a well appointed one bedroom, two bathroom apartment. The decor was modern, and the space was well designed for comfort and getting work done. For starters, you walk in through a long hallway. The powder room is to the left before you enter the living room, which had a dining room table and the most comfortable couch. The bedroom was perfectly adult with a Stearns & Foster king size bed that I could sleep in all day. And I did after sight seeing and eating, I needed a nap! The bathroom included a full sized tub that despite my best efforts, sadly, I did not get to use. It was like my hotel in Paris. This space was life goals achieved and I one day look forward to having an apartment like this. I will be trying to get back here. Don't skip the free champagne in the lobby! read more

We stayed a single night here on a Saturday to visit and hang out with family at DC bars. Checking in was fabulous! They young lady who checked us in hit all the key points about the hotel, told us about their amazing daily "Presidential Cookies" and even recognized my status. The property is beautiful and very central/walkable to many places to eat, drink, and party. Valet was perfect! He was very helpful and even told me they would provide free transportation via their private car within 2 miles, including pickup. Which we used! And our driver, Foster was perfect! The room was comfy and quite large too. Bed offered the perfect sleep! TV channels was lackluster, but that was fine for this stay. The tub had some very odd, black nastiness all along the bottom of it, but we took showers, so this didn't affect us. Everyone we encountered while at this property was helpful and pleasant. Overall, we really enjoyed this visit and we'll definitely return! read more

The Ritz-Carlton for the most part has lived up to its reputation. It's a nice and fancy property with an array of amenities. The service at the restaurant and front desk was great. The room was decent. I didn't get a Club level room, so no access to the Club Lounge. I'm not sure I'd be able to justify spending $300-$350 extra per person per night when I'd be eating elsewhere for breakfast and lunch. I'm sure you can get your moneys worth with top shelf drinks and food as I have in other properties in the past. Just not this time around. Although it'd be nice to see pictures from others that would rate those points alone. There's fortunately self parking available and plenty of of parking for those attending events like myself. It's a convenient location for those participating in events outside the immediate area. I recommend a stay if you are willing to fork up the steep price of a stay. Although, you know what you get when you pay a steep price at a Ritz. I did the same last year in Tokyo which was the most I've spent at a full rate nearly $1,400 a night for a Club Level room. read more

Buckle up for an extensive review of the Ritz-Carlton, Washington D.C. We spent a night here for my birthday so I can relax and see some of the DC monuments. We were able to walk from the hotel to the Lincoln Memorial in under 25 minutes. The weather was perfect so it was a beautiful stroll. On the way there we passed by GW University Hospital with my 5 year old who was actually born there. He was thrilled to see the hospital he was born at. Parking (4/5): The parking here is either valet or self park. Self park is $40 for the day and the garage is underneath the hotel. When we arrived the valets were slammed so rather than wait we opted for self park. It was easy enough, and the signs to the elevators were clearly labeled. The elevator takes you up to the lobby where you take a different elevator to the rooms. Check-In (5/5): We were checked in by Wasem and he was extremely professional and courteous. He saw it was my birthday and even sent a birthday treat to my room later on. We were traveling with two kids, 5 y.o and 7 months and both were greeted with Ritz Kids goodie bags. Ambience (4/5): The lobby area is rather small. There's a sitting area with a nice Christmas tree that connects to the hotel restaurant. Downstairs the entire hotel is dedicated to meeting spaces and party rentals. Near the elevators you can find snacks and treats to munch on throughout the day. The salted caramel hot chocolate was a 5/5 drink for us. Rooms (5/5): The rooms are clean and spacious. We were positioned on the 10th floor and had a nice view of a courtyard. Our entire trip we didn't have any issues with hearing noises in the hallway or other guests. Our baby slept through the night like a...well...baby. Dining and Spa (5/5): The spa services are located at the sister property down the road at the RC Georgetown. The hotel arranged for an Uber for us (no cost) to get there and back. The spa itself is small with no pool or hot tubs but it does have a sauna. For lunch we ordered room service off the All-Day menu. The food was FANTASTIC and easily the best Ritz Carlton food I've had. We did the Pizza Bianca, Branzino, Truffle Fries, Salmon + Vegetables, and the chef even prepared a potato puree for the baby. There's nothing like eating great food inside of your room while watching football. All in all, this is a fantastic property. The hospitality here is unbeatable and Wasem is the man who gets in done. We will likely be back in the summer to do another sightseeing tour of DC. read more

Club level staff are phenomenal, truly some of the most attentive and helpful people I have ever had as servers. We entered our room to an entire welcome basket: chocolates, bug spray, water, wine, festive beads, a blanket and cooler/basket. Such a surprise/treat. They had a sign in the lobby of the events happening every day, free hot dogs one day, free tea/lemonade, cookies, etc. it was constantly changing. My Worst Hotel Experience Ever -- And I Have Receipts I experienced serious negligence during my stay at The Ritz‑Carlton on December 31, 2025. The valet misplaced my key for hours, left my 2023 BMW 430i unlocked, and returned a damaged key fob with no proper documentation. Inside the hotel, my room's TV never worked despite multiple requests, and staff responded dismissively. I have video evidence of both the valet issue and the engineer failing to resolve the in‑room problem. The hotel offered only 5,000 points, which does not address the damage or service failures. Great location right in the heart of the Foggy Bottom area of DC. This hotel was a great home base while visiting as it was within 1-2 miles of all the major areas to visit so you could legitimately walk everywhere depending on the weather and your individual preference. The service at the hotel was 5 star as was greeted by every employee in passing and most held doors open for you upon entry/exit. Did not eat at the hotel, so can't rate the food. In the early afternoon there was a new flavored water/beverage in the lobby next to the elevators to rehydrate. In the evening, there was a small table with a sweet for the day, which changed daily. This was a nice touch. As far as the rooms, this was the one area where I felt it was lacking for the nightly rate. The rooms were simple and elegant, though not oversized or over the top luxury, which I'd expect for the high price tag. If you value location and have the means, this is a decent place to stay, though for the price, I expected more and think there are better options at the price point. read more

The Ritz is well known for a reason. This was my first stay at this DC location, however I had stayed at the Pentagon City location a few months back. Location-wise, this Ritz is fantastic. Easily walkable to monuments as well as neighborhood cafes and restaurants (weather permitting). We utilized the self park option to save some $, plus it's all the same garage which is connected to the hotel. We were easily able to park and roll our own bags to the lobby. That said, we never even opted to take the car anywhere because walking was simple. Service-wise, nothing about our stay was truly that exceptional. Yes, the ample water bottles and bedside evening chocolates are nice, but unlike other reviewers, there was no champagne upon arrival and we only saw afternoon tea one of the days we were there. I should add that we were in town for the cherry blossom festival, so it's likely that this location was very booked up. Lobby is smaller and had a tendency to become congested. We had a standard room (no club level or upgraded view), which did invite a decent amount of street noise (sirens, cars, etc). Room was decently sized, and I do appreciate an oversized bathroom. However, the shower is on the smaller side (odd given the spacious vanity and bathtub). Robes and slippers are always a nice touch though! We did not eat at the restaurants on site, but as mentioned before, we were able to eat at cafes and restaurants surrounding the hotel (recommend Chef Geoff's happy hour, Blank St coffee, and Call Your Mother for bagels). I also feel inclined to add that we stayed here with a military discount rate. Not sure if that affects our level of service (it certainly shouldn't!), but I will say that I would have been rather dissatisfied if I had paid the hefty price tag these rooms often have ($800+/night). read more

There are lots of cheaper hotels but if you can afford a luxurious stay, this location is right by Georgetown. There are two Ritz Carlton locations within a mile of each other. Pay attention to your hotel address. This location offers champagne or bottled water upon check in. Security is taken seriously. Have your key with you at all times. You will need it to use the elevator or access any location. The staff are trained to stay locked onto your needs during your stay. If you are waiting for someone in the lobby, you could be greeted by any employee walking by. Winelair (a member only wine & spirit club) is located next to the hotel. There was no coffee maker in the room. The lobby is very small and not very comfortable. There was a library but it wasn't available for use. Out of all the Ritz Carlton hotels I've stayed at, this was by far the most disappointing. Regret not trying out Georgetown instead. I've stayed at Tyson's Corner and it was much better. Came for a conference and had a terrific stay with my husband and pup! The food and service during the conference was great. The staff in the hotel was so professional and friendly. Shout out to the doormen who were super helpful and enthusiastic (even at 6am when we would go out for our run we were offered towels and cold bottles of water). The house keeping was also terrific. I appreciated their kind smiles in the hallway and keeping our room ridiculously tidy (Thank you Olga). The cookies upon check-in and tea stand by the elevators were fun added touches. I also wanted to note how pet friendly the hotel was. The kind lady who greeted everyone in the lobby brought us champagne and even brought my pup treats. Another lovely stay at the Ritz-Carlton (RC) with two of my friends for a staycation, self-care and mental health getaway for a few days. This Ritz never disappoints. The MVP goes to all the staff in the Club Lounge for exceptional customer service. I believe we all gained 5 pounds in 2.5 days but it was worth it! The Suite was far more than expected and the decor was an eclectic and modern fusion of styles, textures and patterns. My FAV part was of the stay was how me and my girls just we vegged out, watched movies, laughed, talked, reminisced and let the outside world stay out for a few days of peace. My son & I stayed at The Ritz Carlton in Washington, DC during Mother's Day Weekend to visit my son at GWU. We decided to self park which is $40 per day compared to valet @$60 per day. The parking garage is very confusing. The elevator is on Level 2. We parked on level 3. Literally dumbfounded on the difficulty to navigate getting to the elevator...with luggage in tow. During check-in, Daniel who was professional couldn't find my reservation under my name. I gave him the confirmation # & reservation was found but my last name in their system was misspelled. Took about 15 minutes to check-in. While waiting a very nice Hostess offered us bottled water & a glass of champagne which was a nice touch. I requested a high floor and was accommodated. The room was average. I did enjoy the complimentary slippers and robes but my robe had 2 strings of black hair in it. The guests could be more courteous by not allowing their hotel doors to slam although it might have been the housekeeping crew. There is complimentary coffee from 7-11am & complimentary cookies at 5:30pm in the lobby which we enjoyed. This location is walking distance to EVERYTHING. Hopefully the next stay in August, 2024 will be a 5-star review. read more

If I could give this hotel 10 stars I would. This was one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed in stateside and I cannot wait to go back and stay there again! The staff that greets you outside were warm and friendly the entire 5 days we stayed at The Ritz. They remembered our names, my nieces name and always, opened the doors for us. The royal treatment continued in the lobby as every employee we encountered was gracious and welcoming. Upon our arrival, there was a lovely lady offering champagne and water that was brought out on a silver tray. The lobby also contained some of the most delicious chocolate chip cookies! Whoever does their floral bouquets do an incredible job! Each day the arrangements were beautiful and the lobby smelled divine. We were upgraded to a suite located in the West Wing and it was spacious and lovely! We also upgraded our stay to include lounge access and I have to say that this was one of the better lounges that I have encountered. Each and every day, the staff was simply amazing! The food throughout the day and snacks were equally amazing! If you plan on enjoying the hotel during your stay, it is so worth paying for the upgrade. All of their food options were gourmet and they had different options daily. The next time I stay here, I will definitely plan to workout in addition to walking the city because by the time I got back home, my clothes were a little too snug. We also appreciated that we had the option to order room service to the lounge. My 2 year old niece was all about their mashed potatoes and avocado so being able to order from the menu was a great option. The hotel is also situated in a great location if you plan to visit the museums, monument and do touristy things. The hotel is 2 blocks from the Foggy Bottom metro train and that made our daily excursions very easy to navigate. The Ritz is luxury at it's best and I highly recommend staying here. read more

When telling someone who does not stay at luxury hotels regularly that you are staying at the Ritz, there is an almost certain stigma associated with it. Images of wealth, pretentiousness, grandeur, immaculate service, poshness, elegance, art and beauty come to mind. Yet, for someone who stays at luxury hotels fairly regularly, the image of Ritz as a brand differs these days, as there are very few properties that can be called exquisite. What can be said about Ritz DC in this respect? It is a hotel that opened in early 2000s and underwent a major renovation in 2008 and it is a property that barely struggles to meet a five star caliber and more closely aligns to 4.5 stars when it comes to hotel level. That, in itself, is not a good thing. After all, this is a brand that established itself over a century ago as the epitome of luxury and now, transcended into something that is barely meeting expectations. To start, the building itself looks like a mid range apartment building, which in fact half of it actually is. The architectural grandeur is nonexistent. Non decorative red brick construction, lack of features and the opposite of grand. Initial impressions continue into disappointment, with a tiny lobby, that could be mistaken for any four star hotel if it wasn't for the fresh flowers. Checkin is pleasant, but the hotel refused to provide any upgrades for a Titanium Elite days in advance and even at checkin, refused to give a suite despite having availability. Ritz does not participate in Suite Night Awards either. Thus, the upgrade was to a slightly bigger Premier Room. The room is appointed nicely, but had a hazard with a broken light switch where a sharp metal pin was sticking out. Everything else was well done. There are no staff taking you up to the room to show any specifics and introduce the layout, which is again, not on par with a true five star hotel. The design of the room is quite nice however, with modern quality furnishings and an expected level of quality on bedding. TV channels need some work also, as there is nothing international or premium channels aside from HBO. Sadly, the benefits here for Titanium elites are nonexistent. Some of the Ritz hotels try to exceed the Bonvoy policy and offers perks like lounge access, but that was politely refused despite me noting the hazard. It was also shocking to learn that the hotel does not have a coffee maker in the room and requesting one normally costs money, which they waived as a courtesy due to the prior mentioned hazard. That in itself is a slap in any guests face, indicating that this hotel simply does not care about people's comfort. Room service was excellent, fast and efficient. The bar is pleasant downstairs, small and quaint. It is not a happening bar by any means. The responsiveness on chat is excellent, which is a huge plus. The valet staff also do an amazing job opening doors for guests and working to make the experience special. They are a bit understaffed there, but still made a great effort. Lastly, I did want to give them a chance to go above and beyond and asked if checkout could be extended by a couple hours beyond the Titanium 4pm checkout, and despite having lots of availability, they tried to charge for it. Again, another indicator that this Ritz simply tries to hit the minimum required to avoid guests complaining. But, a property of this caliber should always be exceeding expectations, going beyond the promises, making each guests experience feel unique. That's not the case. Is it a bad hotel? It isn't. Can it survive in today's landscape of luxury properties? It will be a struggle. To put it shortly, unless the rate was remarkably low, I would not stay here again. With that said, for those considering a stay at St Regis DC (see my other review), the Ritz is still a tad bit better all around. Ps. Location of the hotel is good, but not ideal. Most sights will be at least a fifteen to twenty minute walk. read more

Stayed for business & the cross departmental employees was nothing short of amazing. The Registration team whether day or night oozed out so much positive energy & assistance, I plan to return for a Staycay visit. My room which dubbed more as a small suite offered a private sitting area with a good view of NHamp/21Street comings & goings. The 65/70" Flat Screen TV was adjustable per your choice of sitting/lounging. & let's not forget to mention the Automated minibar with sensors & snack trays with built-in electronic scales. Not sure which one was being utilized here, yet it was definitely activated. The bathroom was huge with a separate commode/telephone, garden tub & standing shower amongst the well lit dual vanity sinks. After I OCD the bathtub, I ran my bath & realized that I left my soaking essentials at home. When I called the Front Desk to inquire if the Gift Shop/Sundry Market had any sorts of bathtub essentials, I was asked to wait a few moments & someone would further assist me. To my surprise, one of the Housekeeping employees tapped on my door & brought me a fancy bag with even a fancier jar full of Bubble Bath with additional toiletries...I did not bring the jar home with me (smile). When it was all said & done, I slept like a baby on the plush-top mattresses. Hats off to the Valet Team - both the day & night shifts. Everyone was very friendly, sweet and remembered we were staying there for 4 days except this skinny brunette probably 50-60 year old lady with her hair up like the olden-days hair stewardess in a united suit who tried to ignore me and help others as long as possible so she would not have to speak to me. Despite me standing right in front of her, she would look everywhere but directly at me but if anyone else was there, I noticed she would look them directly in the eye. I hate saying this word, but I truly felt she was a racist against Asians. Everyone else went out of their way to be accommodating, sweet and helpful. The rooms honestly didn't feel like the Ritz Carlton's I'm used to staying at. Everything was dated, very small, the carpet was dirty but what was the worst was probably the bottled toiletries from dipitique that didn't smell good. There were none of the purple little bottled heavenly toiletries that made me book a Ritz every time I showed up. Their towels and robes are also the quality of a 3 star hotel- hold, beaten up- not the plush new robes like the Ritz in San Francisco, the Ritz in Los Angeles, etc. It's like the older Ritz in Atlanta, Georgia. The housekeepers told me they are short staffed, the hotel doesn't allow guests to have a lot of towels and that everything just really downgraded because of management. It was very hot and their air conditioning brook on the upper floors. Don't stay here if you're willing to pay for a luxury hotel. It's not worth $600-$800 plus dollars a night. It's more like a $300 a night hotel. But again, except for the 60 year old racist stewardess at the front desk, all the other staff and hotel service was excellent- that was a typical Ritz feature. read more

This review is for the hotel's conference/event facilities. I came this hotel for a half day conference. The event begin with a light breakfast: Softly scrambled eggs (unseasoned), asparagus, pork bacon, potatoes, and a grilled tomato. The eggs were entirely too soft for my taste, and nothing else appealed to me but the potatoes. Fortunately, there was also a basket of baked goods on the table. The staff did not do well with refilling drinks such as water and orange juice. Moreover, they we're not careful or mindful as they made their way through the crowd. Myself, and a few other people, were frequently jostled as they would carelessly pushed and shoved their way through chairs, instead of finding a more accessible way to get where they needed to go. I've been to many events hosted in hotel ballrooms, but I've never experienced anything like that. It was incredibly frustrating and eventually my tablemates and I turned our chairs in such a way where the could not continue to brush past us. Management needs to remind staff to minimize their impact on guest as they make their rounds. As for the conference facilities, they were aesthetically appealing, but not without fault. The A/V equipment was fantastic, but the lights on the stage kept flickering and became a bit of a distraction after a while. There were stations in the hallway for coffee and tea, but they only offered cream and skim milk; no almond milk or other non-dairy options. The stall doors in the restroom went from the ceiling to the floor and it was impossible to tell which ones were occupied and which ones were vacant without knocking on every door. This led to unnecessarily long lines in the ladies room. The hotel would be wise to add some kind of indicator to each door letting guests know whether the stall is occupied or vacant. On a high note, I was pleased with the display of teamwork as conference attendees made our way to redeem our coats from coach check. It seemed to be an all-hands-on-deck affair as nearby staff jumped in eagerly to help the two ladies who were initially assigned to the coat room. BAIT & SWITCH - i booked my room in July with a discount code for 5 days the rate was super low - we called hotel to verify the rate and code and the lady who answered phone checked, and confirmed that the rate was correct for that code - on the day i checked in front desk authorized my card for that same amount for five days plus another $150 per day for incidentals - that night I ordered room service - a well-done cheeseburger but I received a rare cheeseburger - i contacted front desk and politely advised them that the cheeseburger was rare instead of well done and if i could have a well done cheeseburger. They replaced it! The next morning I ordered room service again - breakfast - the food was served on a white tablecloth with a hole in it and a long strand of black hair (see pic) - I contacted front desk and politely advised them that there was a long strand of hair on my table with my food and requested that they redo the breakfast without the hair. They did come and retrieve the hair and the food and replaced it with a new order minus the hair but they forgot my eggs. The next day I received a phone call from the hotel manager, stating that they had been trying to get in touch with me. Now they have my cell phone number and there were no missed calls and the hotel phone was not blinking red as if someone had left a message - he then began to tell me that they checked my rate and that I had been given the wrong rate and that going forward for the rest of my stay, my rate would be an additional $120 more per night - I knew this was in retaliation for me expecting them to give me food that is cooked and without someone else's hair on the tablecloth (see pic). This is only the beginning every day that I ordered room service, my food was incorrect, the coffee would even arrive cold - one time I ordered a cheeseburger well-done no onions, no pickles what i ended up with was a meat patty, cheese and some bread - no sauce, no lettuce, no tomato - it appeared that they did put onions on it but they tried to take it off but they left a few behind (see pic) - clearly this was intentional. They were trying to get me to leave the hotel. I no longer felt welcomed at the Ritz - the people at front desk no longer smiled at me but instead would look at me as if i didn't belong as if I were beneath them because I had a discount. If you are a minority, then you know that look that I am talking about - if you are of the LGBTQ community, then you know that look I'm talking about. But I never stopped smiling at them and I refused to let them run me out. There's way more to tell I will finish it later. But let me close with this, I have stayed at plenty of 5-star hotels and resorts and this Ritz Carlton DC is more like a 3.5 STAR but no way can they be classified as a 5-STAR - I was very disappointed in the way I was treated and in the lack of attention to basic details like NO HAIR WITH MY FOOD, WELL DONE INSTEAD OF RARE, HOT COFFEE INSTEAD OF COLD , etc. Disappointed in the fact that they FAILED to honor the rate that I booked my stay at and that midway through my stay is when they decided to notify me of an increase by almost 50% - ZERO INTEGRITY! ZERO GOOD FAITH! ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE! IT WAS CLEAR AND APPARENT THAT THIS BLACK WOMAN WAS NOT WELCOMED AT THE RITZ DC! read more

Excellent establishment from beginning to end. The staff is very accommodating and knowledgeable on everything you need to know. The rooms are very clean and offer some amenities that other hotels do not. The quadrant ( internal bar/restaurant) is very relaxing and their drinks were very strong. You're also within walking distance to restaurants and bars for a night out with the crew. There is also valet and daily parking fees so don't be surprised by that. When you think of the Ritz brand, you think superb customer service surrounded by a beautiful atmosphere and over the top royalty treatment. When I think of the Ritz-Carlton, DC after visiting for a graduation happy hour my husband coordinated for me at their lobby bar, I think of rude, pushy, stuffy memories. They've got the idea down that I described above but not the execution. We showed up with a small group to have celebratory drinks after my graduation ceremony. Not only were we shoved out of the bar area upon arrival and sent to the lobby on an awkward couch, but then were told only 1 tab could be used and we couldn't order from the bar. We explained this complicated matters and proceeded to order from the bar at which point they gave up. The snarky attitude that followed and treatment from all service staff was unreal. We ended up leaving after one round. They say money can't buy happiness, damn straight, this $$$ bar was a bust. The dive down the street is a better bet for your next celebration. Ritz ruined mine. read more

The staff inside was fantastic! Everything was a dream. I forgot something and my friend left it at the front desk. I had the rudest older man yelling at me his name is Ayalee about moving my car to circle around. I did so and he had someone else come tell me I could not park there. I kept telling them I was going to the front to pick something up. I feel he profiled me since I was in sneakers and they were not very kind this was insanity will cancel future reservations for my family coming into town. The reception that I received from the valet professionals was above and beyond. Individuals like Mo are kind, attentive, and respectful. Then you encounter the front desk. When managers like Andrew and Shaun go out of their way to let you know that you are not welcomed then are backed by Nik (who is near or on the executive team) what you have is a diminishment of a brand that used to denote excellence in service. My Marriott ambassador status made no difference except to Erin. She may be up to her ears with a surly, nice-nasty team of people who have no business near a five star establishment. If you want a place where you can turn your eye on smiling faces with nasty hearts at the front desk, this place is for you. read more

My email I wrote to Bonvoy and what happened during my stay attached for others to review. This has taken me a few days to wrap my head and around to fully explain the situation I had this past week checking into the Ritz-Carlton Washington DC Georgetown Hotel on 22nd St. As an Ambassador Elite member for a few years, I travel 2-3 days a week staying in Bonvoy properties. I was really looking forward to my stay at the Ritz as I had some important meetings I was attending. When arriving at the check-in desk the lady working was yelling at another employees saying I need a smoke break. I patiently waited for her to look up at me and in a very unfriendly matter said what do you need? Not welcome, how can I help you or hello sir, welcome to the Ritz. After a minute or two she finally acknowledges me and we proceed to check me in. I had already checked in through the app to make the process quicker. My rate reserved for 2 nights at 295.00 with corp rate. While checking in the lady at the front desk asked for my Corp ID. I showed her my badge and she then said they need more proof the A corp ID?? Confused. Then proceeded to tell me she can still check me in but will have to charge me 425.00 a night?? This is the first time I have encountered such rudeness. I then said, let me call Ambassador services and they can help you, so I did. An employee on your end talked with reservations and they agreed to check me at the 295.00 rate. The rude lady proceed my payment and gave me my room keys. At this point, part of me just wanted to leave this property due to the way they treated a loyal Bonvoy member. I arrive to my room and had an hour to prepare and shower before my first meeting. The first thing I noticed at check in was a massive toe nail on the ground and Cookie crumbles brushed up under a desk. I was surprised to see this at the Ritz and thought to myself... good thing I wasn't paying 425.00. (Pictures attached) After taking a quick shower I unpacked and prepared to review the material I needed to present when the hotel phone ring. I answered it and at the other end was the very very rude front desk lady saying sorry but her manager said we have to charge you the 425.00 rate because I needed to show more then a badge. I was shocked so took me a second to respond... I replied so you already checked me in and to then call me 45 min later in the room you gave me that I now need to pay you the higher rate in your half empty hotel?? At this level of frustration I probably could of showed them my emails, or many other items, but it was about principle, respect and loyalty. I replied with thank you, I will not be staying here and packed up all my bags, missed my very important, and walked down 2 blocks to the Westin Georgetown where I was treated with honor, respect and appreciation toward my Ambassador services for so many years with Marriott. I bring this to your attention in hopes I hear from an Sr. Executive that will take this matter extremely serious and put action in place. Part of me wanted to get a legal team involved under harassment and misconduct but I'm sure we can come to some solutions. read more

This is my ultimate staycation hotel. It's within walking distance of Georgetown and DuPont Circle. The rooms are clean and stylish...everything is accented in this black lacquered paint. The bathrooms are huge and luxurious with a separate tub and standing shower. The beds were firm but had a nice feather top. I also appreciated that there is a CVS and Walgreens nearby in case you forgot anything. Just FYI you can only access the "club" lobby with all day food and drinks if you stay in a club level room. Their main lobby bar is cute and the service is excellent. Note that a lot of things are not included: There is an equinox connected to the hotel but I think there is a small fee to use. We were able to get WiFi for free as part of Marriot Bonvoy but note that it's normally $10-15. read more
