My color is bright and even, and she really listened to what I wanted. She also has a fantastic personality and is easy to chat with while she works. Jade cut my hair and before she began we talked about what I wanted and I showed her a couple of pictures of what I had in mind. She also did exactly what I wanted, and it looks great! I have had many experiences with stylists ignoring what I've asked for and just doing whatever they felt like and then I end up having to go and get it corrected. Not here! They took their time and did everything just right! This will be my go-to salon from now on. I couldn't be happier!

She is the go-to stylist in Bloomington for Asian hair, and she is the only person I will let touch my hair in town. She made me feel really comfortable with her calm but warm way of interacting with me while she worked on my ultra-long hair (my hair was past my waist). I asked to have my hair cut to just past shoulder length, and Tomoko instinctively asked if I usually cut a lot of my hair off and then leave it to grow for a couple years before having it cut again. I said I usually try to trim it every year, but I want it to be low-maintenance (I hate using hairspray or gels or other products in my hair other than shampoo and conditioner). She worked her magic and made sure my haircut was as perfect as possible. At the end of it, she happily said that I should be good for 6 months to a year. You mention that there should be industry standards of a decent cut, and then are accused of being cruel and not understanding the trajectory of a beginner and that they stand behind their stylists. This is unacceptable in a professional setting. As a customer, you should not be guilted by the owner when you mention an industry standard of a good cut and are faced with a guilt trip of being not understanding of a beginning stylist. I called to see if they had any open appointments and was able to come in only an hour after I called. The studio is still very covid safe so you have to wear a mask while you're there and they ask you to wash your hands before coming in - very sanitary! I was greeted in the parking lot by my stylist who explained the whole process step by step. She asked me about my hair care routine/products so she could best advise me on how to get my hair the way I want it on a daily basis.
