After a long day of apartment hunting in the Arts District, we were exhausted and unimpressed but when we arrived here it felt different in the best way. Kristina went above and beyond, staying late to give us a thorough tour and answering every question. Deshaun has been just as amazing, making us feel right at home. The property is beautiful with thoughtful and modern design choices. We love the amenities.. especially how dog-friendly the community is.. which was a top priority for us. There are multiple courtyards, some with turf, plenty of walking paths (& poop bags) and the NoHo West dog park 10 steps away. The rooftop views, gym and other shared spaces have been a great addition to our daily routine. I'm really looking forward to the summertime and using the outdoor spaces more.. top notch community cooking, everywhere! We were skeptical of the mail and delivery situation but so far we've had a couch delivered, a dozen food deliveries, dozens of amazon packages and all of our expected mail. For our actual move, there were plenty of loading zones and entry points, making it easy. My only gripe... the parking garage gate has been inconsistent, remaining open for days at a time... which literally bypasses all measures taken to secure access... but still, so far I've felt safe as a female living here and walking my two dogs. You will not get your full deposit, you will not get a response from staff if you get billed for water and power after you move out no matter how much you follow up, and you will not enjoy your experience. Residents are not respectful and will leave piles of trash, bulky boxes (even though there is a sign explaining to take them downstairs), and trash too big for the trash chutes in the trash room. They do not check footage or enforce anything if people leave their trash on the ground (some are too lazy to put it inside the trash chutes). The smoking of cigarettes is a serious issue and they don't do anything about it. They don't check footage, follow up with anyone's concerns about it, or take responsibility - they just say to "be on the lookout and report it" if anyone smokes. It is an issue and the hallways and parking lots do smell of cigarette smoke. You will smell cigarette smoke early in the morning and late at night. The fire alarms go off very often, especially in the middle of the night. The "routine fire alarm maintenance" in which someone needs to enter your unit are suspiciously frequent, especially for how often the alarms go off. You will get woken up by the fire alarm. There are major security issues and they are not prioritizing safety. There are no locks on the upper floors for key fobs. If you take the stairs, the entry to the floors do not require key fobs on the upper levels. You can walk in through the main parking lot entrance and take any stairs up and access any floor without a key fob. The parking lot doors are broken and left open VERY frequently. Residents drive too fast in the garage, try to beat the gate, and frequently break it. It takes about 2 weeks to fix, and until then, it's left open. Literal cars have been stolen from this apartment complex. I've seen literal homeless people sleeping in the garage because of the broken gates (I don't personally care because in the morning I've seen this happen, it was very cold. However it still is a security flaw.) View the old reviews when Alexan NoHo West was under previous management and had a separate Yelp listing and you can see more details. All the good management and staff have already left or are planning on leaving. Now, current staff is flaky and will NOT follow up on your tickets, concerns, calls, or voicemails. You will be disappointed.

The lobby smelled amazing and the entire vibe felt warm and inviting. They offered me coffee and had apples and bananas out which my son absolutely loved. Chelsea is the one who toured me and she was so kind so sweet and absolutely amazing. After seeing the rooftop, the gym and everything else I'm seriously considering this place. If there's one thing I noticed it's that they actually make you feel like a future resident not just a number based on when I needed to move in.

There are large numbers of homeless individuals around the block, and I've personally been chased multiple times. It's incredibly stressful just coming and going from your own home. Another major issue is the trash collection. The city trash truck consistently comes before 7 AM, and the noise is extremely loud--it will wake you up whether you want it or not. I brought this up to management, but their response was essentially that there's nothing they can do. So you're stuck dealing with it every single morning. On top of that, the building itself is poorly managed. From noisy neighbors throwing parties and screaming at 4 AM to other ongoing issues, management never takes meaningful action. Their response is always the same generic script: "We are working on the issue. If you're not happy, we can review lease termination options with you." In other words, either tolerate the problems or pay more money to leave. The neighbors above me are extremely loud and seem to start their activity late at night, often around 1 AM. The noise is so intense that it wakes me up with a racing heart. It's not occasional--it's every single night. I haven't been able to sleep in my own bedroom for the past year because of this. Instead, I'm paying $3,400 a month just to sleep on my sofa. That's completely unacceptable and far beyond anything anyone should have to tolerate. Between the unsafe surroundings, constant noise, and lack of accountability from management, living here has been extremely frustrating. This place has seriously impacted my quality of life, and I regret signing a lease here.

Bad: mall is split up with streets running through it, parking is expensive, extremely limited number of stores to actually shop at, majority of stores are located across the Laurel Grove Drive which is quite a walk if you parked in the main lot in the middle of the complex. I only went to Daiso, Five Below, Starbucks because those were the only ones you can shop at in the main part of the mall which is unbelievably weird. It's like this mall had an identity crisis, couldn't figure out if it should be more of an entertainment center (movie theater, restaurants) or shopping center (Daiso, Five Below, Nordstrom Rack). Many vacancies, alot of random stores that you wouldn't go to unless you had or needed to like Spectrum, nail & beauty salons, orthodontist, chiropractor, Verizon, Carbon Health. The main part of the mall is Nordstrom Rack, Starbucks, Daiso, Five Below, LA Fitness. Gnomon (computer graphics, visual effects school) & Regal Cinemas take up the majority part of this section. There seems to be no thought to what a mall shopper would want or wish to go to when they arrive to the heart of a mall. On the "strip mall" area which is across the street and around the corner, there are Ulta, Trader Joe's, mostly cafes, quick bites like Jersey Mike's, Crumbl, It's Boba Time, MOD pizza. Again, only Ulta for someone looking to do mall shopping. Although this mall is modern, clean, great parking structure (expensive but lots of spaces), there's absolutely little to offer. Would I go back?? No way! This is an incredibly disappointing shopping center & if you're hoping to do some retail therapy, go to Sherman Oaks Galleria or Westfield Fashion Square.

Sandra is the most caring person and always takes the time to say hello and make you feel welcome! I was disrespected by her on so many levels. I leased an apartment without seeing it and tried to see it that same week, she told me I couldn't because it wasn't ready, so I asked if I could see the community , she was against that as well. She didn't mean any of the timelines that she gave me in regards to my lease agreement and scheduled appointments to see the property - and she failed to communicate the changes, l had to reach out to find out about anything that may have changed. So I asked her if we could have more open communication (in the nicest way possible) -- she got really upset with me for saying that and told me I should "withdraw my application" if I had so many questions and concerns.. she then told me she was going to hang up on me ?! After that I was going to report her to her higher up - but as I said before she has all these great reviews, so I have her the benefit of the doubt and assumed for the sake of good energy going into my lease that maybe she was having a bad day. I then reached out via email to tell her how I felt, she never responded until the next day saying it no longer appeared I qualified... and then she ghosted me - literally after that she ignored me for OVER a week. I called, I emailed, i have 8 unanswered emails. I called from different numbers. She'll use the excuse she was out of office but I gave her well enough time to get in contact with me. She THEN FINALLY wrote me back and told me that I need to give her $3,596 THAT DAY or my lease would be withdrawn! She said it was company policy that a week after an apartment is leased they need all the fees paid! But it had been over a week since she told me it didn't look like I qualified! I asked if I could give her $1200 and I could pay her the rest next week when I get paid and technically since I'm JUST finding out I'm approved and she JUST charged me the holding fee that day. My week had just begun TODAY. and she told me no, if she does that for me she's have to do it for everyone (like my case isn't different?!) I simply withdrew my application, who wants to live under a general manager like that. In all honestly I believe she did this all to me on purpose to try to get me to withdraw my application. She's spiteful and a terrible communicator, I have never been my life been treated that way by management.
